[Ok, my first thread ever :headdesk: Urk! Pressure...coming down on me...:headdesk:]

It's the year 2010 and while most people celebrated the arrival of a new decade, a long forgotten terror awakens beneath the ground. A millennium ago, a great kingdom once stood on the surface of the earth, a great kingdom run by the brother of men. While these people came from the same ancestors of humans today, they diverged from the evolutionary path into a separate but close species. The Eidolon looked every bit like humans did except that they could change into more powerful forms. They transformed into what we today would call monsters, although they were neither brutal nor feared. They were considered guardians, revered by humans as protectors of peace. The different forms varied with each individual but all abided by a code of conduct that kept them from attacking people. It wasn't as if humans were helpless either. Through an ancient form of meditation and training, their speed and strength were able to match those of the strongest Eidolon. It wasn't the most perfect of times but yes, it was peaceful. That is, until they came.

They arrived in ships, a great multitude of ships. The inhabitants of the earth had never seen any vessel equivalent to their make. Neither have they seen any that could fly. They came from the skies, some guessed from beyond the stars themselves. Wherever they came from, they were no friend. While Human and Eidolon alike bartered for peace, the Ru, as they called themselves, only sought control. A great war was waged that ravaged many countries and tore apart the land. The Earthlings did their best to cut down the forces of the Ru, but their own fighting force was dwindling. In a last ditch effort, the Eidolons and Humans lured the main bulk of the Ru into the borders of the three greatest empires on Earth. One was Eidola, the homeland of the Eidolons, the other two were Lemuria and Atlantis, the greatest and most advanced empires of Humans. With extreme stress to the planet, the three kingdoms were swallowed by the ground taking with them the invading enemy. Those who remained on the surface killed off any remaining Ru and buried their technology and their names along with the fallen.

But it seems the Ru have not truly been wiped out and now seek to fulfill their promise to take over the world. It has been a long thousand years since that war and indeed the stories of the battle have faded from the memories of man. The enemy has taken full advantage of this and terrorized the surface world freely. Nobody now had the knowledge or power to fight them. At least that is what they thought.

Enter Professor Mangala, a prominent figure in the technological and educational field. He has led the government in the creation of a task force assigned to protect the people from the threat of the Ru. Armed with the knowledge of the past handed down from generation to generation by only 9 families, Professor Mangala has searched the world for direct descendants of great warriors in order to train them in the long forgotten arts of war. Even among the many found, only a few could be chosen since they had to already be physically fit enough to handle the stress caused by the infusion of ancient power. So far only three have shown promise and his search for more continues. For now, only those three heroes keep the ferocious Ru from spreading beyond Atlas City.

Donning a special armor developed by the government, the three bravely defend the remaining inhabitants of Atlas City. Their cybersuits, as the developers have dubbed them, give the warriors increased defense while amplifying their already improved strength, speed and stamina. When not in use, the suits are stored in an earring that compresses space. This piece of technology has only been recently developed and was based on the theories of the ancients preserved by the 9 families. The cybersuits instantly cover their owners when they are summoned. Along with the suits, the team is given an array of weapons to suit their needs. Except for the standard issue laser gun, other ammo requiring weapons need to be refilled at HQ.

Things To Know

1. You can have up to four weapons on you. The laser gun will be a staple along with your main weapon of choice but you don't need to use them in every battle.
2. Please have at least one mode of transportation. This is a big city. I don't care if you use a plane, just don't land it on any building. If you want to crash it, crash it on a monster.
3. I don't care for post length but for April's sake, if anybody else wants to join for some reason please write at least 5 sentences excluding speaking parts. Oh yeah, you gotta PM me if you want to join.
4. Try to spell stuff out as best as you can.
5. For now I say there's three people but eventually we'll find 2-3 more depending on the story and what you want.
6. Tell me when you won't be on for a while/want to leave.
7. Do battle scenes when you want.

... : As having a rough past goes, Rafael has often found himself in situations that could easily crush any man. His parents were killed when he was a boy and he was taken by the leader of the murderers as a 'pet' of sorts. For most of his childhood, he was brought up as an animal, trained to fight and win in underground illegal fighting rings. His hands were often soaked with the blood of his opponents, children like himself. Whenever he lost he got beat up till he was nearly dead. He escaped at the age of 13 and lived on the streets for years, stealing food and money from whoever. He was then taken in by a local gang in Atlas City where, for the first time in ages, he was treated like a human being. Since he was good at fighting Rafael always found himself at the front lines of gang wars, by his choice of course. His fellow thugs looked up to him with respect and expected him to become their new leader. But he had other plans and surprised them all when he said he wanted to join the military. His group was reluctant to see him leave but they supported his decision. He entered the army at the age of 19 and quickly rose in the ranks to become a lieutenant. He planned on visiting his gang for the New Year but was distraught to find that they were killed by the Ru's rampage. He swore revenge and was recruited by Dr. Mangala, becoming the first of the task force.

Damn Sob Story : Lila is the first-born daughter of Atlas City's Mayor. Though on the outside she looks like a primped-up, pampered doll, she is actually very intelligent, fun-loving and athletic. Still, being from a wealthy family [thanks to many generations of superstars and high-status politicians] has made her seem rude and somewhat condescending to the 'common folk'. In reality it is just that she firmly believes in telling and seeking the whole truth, regardless of how hurtful or taboo the subjects are.
When the earthquake hit Atlas many of the people she knew either died or disappeared. She nearly went mad with grief after her fiancé was declared among the missing, which ironically was the only hope she had that he was still alive. Lila met Professor Magdala a few days later at a gathering held by her father to commemorate those who lost their lives and to provide necessities for those who needed them. Their second meeting was barely a month after during her continued search for her fiancé, when she had received a tip that someone had seen him on the border between Atlas City and the next town. Although she was hesitant at first, she accepted the Professor's invitation to join the task force with his promise to help her find her missing lover.

Read someone else's diary! : Justine has lived in the countryside with her loving family until she turned 14 when she moved to a private school in the city. As a kid, she was a hyper-active little girl and loved to play all day with the other kids from the neighboring farms. They would ride pigs, chase chickens, and hijack tractors which they would bail any time they accidentally ran it into a field of crops. But her energy became more focused on less destructive activities after she entered high school. She took up dance and tai chi chuan, and learned how to rollerblade. Justine eventually joined a parkour group but it disbanded after her friends left for college. The young woman was attending college when the Ru escaped from their earthen prison, causing a massive earthquake that killed her Aunt and Uncle who she had been staying with. She at first was employed as one of the rescue volunteers for the catastrophe but soon came to the attention of Professor Mangala and became one of the first members of the task force.

Justine looked down at the people moving boxes through her binoculars. It was now 7:26 pm and the factory workers have been working since noon. If HQ's suspicions were correct, the people would be finishing up any time soon. Another few minutes and like clockwork the workers stopped what they were doing and entered the factory. After all the gates and doors were locked and the trucks were moved it was time for the young woman to act. "Showtime." she whispered and as silent as a shadow, she jumped from the roof she was perched on down to the wet concrete ground. Remaining in the unlit parts of the road, she quickly ran up to the building while evading the security cameras' path of vision. The young woman waited by the door. "Hey, you ready?" she asked in a low voice, speaking into the comm device on her wrist.

[No problem :D But I don't know if you like super sentai type RPs or task force type RPs. This is sorta like what a none kiddy version of power rangers would be. I'm still thinking about whether the armor/cybersuits should be matching but with different colors or like those in bubblegum crisis 2040 :sweat: I made a skeleton for April cause she's being somewhat of a pain and she wants me to make one too which I'm doing. Do you want to make a profile also? :)]

KSSH. "Hey, you ready?"

"Ah, shit! I'm awake!"

Lila clamped a hand to her mouth and listened intently. The voice coming from her earpiece had startled her and she was now on high alert in case anyone heard her yelp. The lack of a tingling sensation told her no one was around. It was much quieter now, with only the low hum of the still-running machines that would put anyone to sleep. She glanced at her watch.

'7:30 on the dot,' the blond thought.

She had been laying supine on one of the high beams of the factory for a long time that her muscles ached as she sat up. Dust had settled on her body-suit and she was thankful for the mask that covered her face. But that was in the back of her mind-- her mission now was to get her partner in. Looking around carefully she spoke into her mic.

"Blue here. Verify position."

"Alright. I'm at the door by the third gate. Ready when you are." Justine replied.

Inside the factory, low growls could be heard. The workers had all gathered around a central machine. Their movements were robotic, zombie like. Their eyes had an eerie glow coming from them.

"Faster." came a beast like voice. "We should be ready by daybreak. It is almost complete!" With a roar like laugh, the leader jumped down from the high railings onto the ground floor. His monstrous form was that of a huge, black metal tiger. His teeth were deadly sharp as well as his long serrated claws. One hand had longer claws than the other, almost like short swords.
The workers moved in a slightly faster pace, but only just. After muttering something around the lines of "Why did I get stuck with these...", the fiendish leader patrolled the area around the mechanical contraption. One could see something being nourished on the inside of the glowing green tank, the centerpiece of the device. The many eyes of the mysterious creature would open and close at random, looking at the world outside its temporary womb. The world it would soon roam.

Like a cat, Lila gracefully made her way to the docking bay gates via the ceiling beams. Well.. maybe not so gracefully as she found herself almost falling to her death several times tripping on pipes and wires. Reaching her destination she fast-roped down by the controls.

'This is gonna be harder than I thought.'

There were buttons and levers of many shapes, colors, and sizes. It reminded her of something a child would have fun playing with. But this was no time for games--one wrong move and the blond could trigger an alarm, or worse, a complete lockdown. With that in mind she carefully surveyed the big steel gates.

"Well, Pink. It's time to do what you do best. There's only one key to my house and yours.."

The safest place for her now was either up on the beams again or really far back behind the mountain of boxes. The latter was the obvious choice as Lila really wasn't up for stepping on rat skeletons or dead bugs anymore.

"Roger that." came the more than eager reply.

Checking the security cameras before standing in front of the gates of the docking bay, the black eyed woman brushed her hair back and passed her hand in front of an earring on her right. What seemed like solid pink light came flying out of the metal jewelry, forming a heavy looking weapon in her hands.

"Knock knock." she said before blasting the sealed docking bay open. As soon as she did this, sirens alarmed throughout the building.

"What was that?" growled the tiger monster as he and the zombie workers turned in the direction of the blast. "Sir! Intruders!" reported another monster, pale white mask for a face with a black and white checkered motif all over its body. It was human sized and smaller in comparison to the hulking beast of a leader. "Well, what are you waiting for? Stop them!!" the feral leader commanded. At once, all the seemingly human workers cast off their fake skins to reveal black and white clones of the monster that had informed the tiger of the intrusion. They were the grunt force of the Ru, the Drones. In a flash, the Drones ran off towards the docking bay of the factory, eager to rip apart any human that dared to obstruct their work.
