...|Plot|...

(I don't have a complete idea of what was wanted for the plot other than the two meeting, falling in love and trying to escape so hopefully this is somewhat what you had in mind.)

Two teens have been taken from their homes In hopes to be made Into the worlds’ best fighters. They have been changed Into hybrids also with powers of elements. A few months after they had been changed, they decide they want out and not be In this experiment any further. Then, one day they try an escape on their own into the surrounding forest, but somehow end up unsuccessful. During that day however the two teens somehow become aware of each other and it's only a matter of time before they find a way to communicate with one another. Years later the two actually encounter each other for a period of time.

Will these two be able to find an escape from the facility? What will fate have in store for them if they do?

...|Settings|...

Inside the facility. The two teens are in a different part of the building and become aware of one another somehow (either through speaking through the vent or getting a glimpse of one another or something like that) during/after their attempted escapes.

...l Bio l...

Name: Aki Haru

Age: 13 (At the start) 18 (By the time of the actual meeting of the two)

Gender: Male

Element: Lightning

Hybrid: Arctic fox

Appearance: (Humanish at the start) –

(Humanish at the planned escape time. aka older) -

(Fox appearance. There will be a couple since they're all too cute to decide on just one. XD)-

Personality: He is rather friendly and kind though sly sometimes like a fox. He warms up to people rather quickly and can be quiet sociable. There are times where he seems to be wise beyond his years, though he knows he’s still just a kid. He tries to not anger or harm anyone or anything. He has a great interest in anything dealing with nature, especially when it comes to plants. He’s also very curious about anything he hasn’t seen before, which because he’s so young is a lot.

Crush: Maddie (eventually. XD)

Other: His home was on Mount Kita-dake, which is situated in the city of Minami-Alps, Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan. Although he lived in Japan he was only half Japanese while the other half was English, so he speaks and reads both Japanese and English fluently though his accent is more Japanese orientated. He contains the ability to shift into a small arctic fox. For some reason is good at picking locks and thievery, though he rarely steals from others unless he has no choice.

...l In Character Post l...

Aki sat with his knees up quietly in the corner of a room made with rubber walls, a rubber ceiling and rubber flooring. Even the vent on the wall next to Aki and above him was made of rubber and screwed in with rubber screws. There was nothing made of metal in the room other than the operating table in the center that was used during the initial part of the experimentation, the time of which he had gained his fox appearance along with his elemental and fox shifting abilities. These he had agreed to, since being young he didn’t understand the full extent and meaning of the experiment, and at first was rather excited about his newfound abilities. Now that he actually had them though, he no longer knew if it was really a good idea or not to participate in the experiment. Now the adults in the long coats and strange colored uniforms were talking about fighting other people and wars, and that was not something he wanted.

‘I suppose it’s my own fault for being such a child and thinking it would be cool to be a fox and control lightning on top of that’ Aki thought with a sigh. Initially, after the throbbing pain where his ears and tails and been added, he had been really excited. It was this excitement that had first caused problems. During that time he didn’t have any control over his powers, not that he had complete control now, and had accidentally electrocuted anyone that touched him or had anything metal on or near them, hence the rubber walls, ceiling and floor. Even now there was a fifty percent chance that anyone he touched would feel the shock of his lightning, though not to the extent where a person would die, so he tried his best not to touch anyone if he could help it. The people entering the room had also learned to not wear any metallic objects or be anywhere near the metal table in the room.

At the memory of the people he had caused serious harm to, with his touch when all of this hand begun, he raised his hand and stared at it. He knew that he could touch his other arm, legs, face or anywhere without fear of his lightning causing harm to himself, but he didn’t quite understand why it was his touch harmed others. If he had been perhaps slightly older he could have connected it to the control he used, or lacked at the time, when he used his powers. If he had been able to reach that thought then the strict control exercises that he was put through would have probably made more sense to him now. He was only thirteen however and so this thought was not a part of his other thoughts.

Suddenly his fox ears twitched at the sound of boots connecting with the floor stopping outside of the rubber door to his room. He wasn’t surprised, as he figured it was time for his tests and control exercises to begin. He didn’t have an actual clock, but his internal clock told him it was about that time. He never liked this time or his exercises. It’s not like they were mean to him or anything during his testing and exercises, but it was the fact he knew what the purpose of them were. The control exercises was so he could learn control and wouldn’t harm anyone who came near him, like the first time, while his testing was to determine how much harm and damage he could do with his powers. From what had been gathered so far he could wipe out communication in a whole city block for hours by overloading the main power grids with his lighting and cause an electrical overload in the system. They had already seen what his lightning could do to humans directly…

His gaze went to the door as he heard the click of the lock being undone. His immediate reaction was to transform into his fox form. He would always do this to try and reduce the testing time as much as possible. He looked up at the woman that entered the room for a few moments, it was clear from her long white coat that she was one of the scientists and was Aki’s favorite so far. He had only met two of the scientists so far, this woman and an old man that was tall, bald and liked to poke him with various tools with rubber handles. Everyone else he had encountered wore the strange uniforms and talked really loudly, which sometimes scarred him. Loud noises had never really bothered him before, but now that he had his fox ears and hearing things that normally would have been fine were a lot louder now.

The woman calmly approached Aki with a smile and extended her hand. “Now Aki you know now is not the time for such games. You’re supposed to be going to do your tests” she said kindly as she stopped right in front of him and patted his head. Aki calmly curled into a ball, throwing his fluffy tail over his face. She may have been his favorite, but he had no intention of making things easier for her. “Aki…” the woman said with a sigh as she put her hands on her hips. It was at this time Aki noticed, fuzzily because of his fur, that she had not closed the door this time like she always did. He knew that it was a long shot but if he could just run fast enough…

Without another thought Aki jumped from his curled position and made a run for the space between the woman’s legs. Unfortunately this was not the first time he had tried to make a dash for it and was soon squished between her ankles. “Oh no you don’t mister you should know better by now” the woman said with a laugh as she somehow maneuvered her hands, that were covered with rubber gloves that stretched and disappeared into her long white sleeves, to the ground, with Aki still stuck between her ankles, and grabbed Aki by his scruff. Aki let out a small yelp at which the woman just shook her head. “Oh come on now I know that it doesn’t hurt” she said as she hoisted him up into her arms. She was right of course, it didn’t hurt, but he had thought maybe, just maybe, she would have forgotten that and dropped him like the first time. Then he could have made a full dash out the door. Luck and fate were not on his side this time though as she indeed did remember.

He squirmed in her arms as he tried to find a way out, but again luck was not on his side. “Oh no you don’t you’re not getting away easily” the woman teased and began to walk towards the door. With a sigh Aki resigned to his fate of going to his testing area. It was only when the woman got to the door did fate decided to smile on Aki. The very second that the woman walked out of the door one of the men dressed in the strange uniforms, that would later be known as camouflaged military uniforms, was walking right in front of the door at the same time. It was only natural that these two would inevitably bump into each other causing the distraction Aki needed to slip free of the female scientist’s grasp. Of course Aki was not one to miss such an opportunity and quickly broke free of her arms and leapt down to the ground. He then proceeded to run down the hall. He could hear the startled cry of the woman and the man quickly grabbing his walkie talkie alerting others in the same uniform of his escape. He ran into a few soldiers that tried to grab him as he ran, but managed to miss. He continued running at full speed in his fox form and evading capture. He wasn’t too familiar with the compound as he had only been to one part of it, so perhaps it was inevitable that the men in the strange uniforms would set up multiple ambushes in multiple hallways. And perhaps it was fate that the hallway he turned down happen to have one of those said ambushes set up. And perhaps it was fate once again intervening against the fox, that he would once again be caught, and none too gently this time either.

Within minutes he was being carried by the scruff back the way he came and back to the woman, who now had the bald old man next to her. She was tapping her foot with her hands on her hips shaking her head as she said something to her colleague about soldiers wandering around in places they shouldn’t. It was clear she wasn’t blaming Aki for his escape, but rather the soldier that had caused it in the first place. The one who had a hold of Aki then roughly thrust the fox forward towards her. “Careful now he is a living creature you know” the woman said as she grabbed the little arctic fox. She glanced down at him, perhaps to see if he had been injured, and seemed to smile in relief that he wasn’t harmed. “Yes he’s also a rather valuable experiment so you should take care on how roughly you treat him” the old man croaked out with his rough voice. Aki hated the sound of the old man’s voice. His ears drooped downward at the sound of him talking. The people in the strange uniforms managed out an apology before excusing themselves.

“Well I suppose we should be heading down to the testing area now, I hear that they’re planning on seeing if there’s a way to channel his lightning towards satellites” the woman said excitedly as she talked to her colleague.

“Yes can you imagine just how beneficial that would be for us if he could wipe those out? Our enemies wouldn’t stand a chance!” the old man croaked out with equal excitement.

Aki merely laid in the woman’s arms and blocked out the rest of their conversation on the way down to the testing area. He stared at the dull colored walls as they changed from white to a metallic silver color. It wasn’t actually made of metal; in fact any of the sections he was transported in were now made of rubber for the safety of all the others that handled and dealt with Aki and his lightning. The only thing that he would come into contact with that was metal, other than the table in his room, was a large metallic ball in the testing area that would absorb his lighting and measure the strength of it in the testing room.

After what seemed like six hours, really it was only three, the woman scientist returned to Aki’s rubber room, with Aki laying tiredly in her arms. Between the testing and the exercises Aki appeared to be fairly wiped out. He was in his fox form still and his eyes were slightly closed giving the impression of him dozing on and off. The woman gently deposited him in the corner he had been in before he had been taken to the testing area, as it was the only place in the room he seemed to like. “You did well today Aki. I’ll send someone to bring you some food in a little while ok? Until then just rest, you must be exhausted” the woman said with a smile and quietly though quickly left the room. She knew better than to keep the door open for too long whether Aki was fully energized or not.

Once Aki heard the click of the door and the second click of the lock he fully opened his eyes. Despite what he made it appear he wasn’t all that tired at all. It was at times like this he was thankful at the seemingly endless supply of energy that small kids had was still present in him. He waited a few more moments before he transformed back into his humanish form. His gaze then went from the door and to the vent above him. It was too high for him to reach just standing up, but if he pulled that table in the middle of the room over, he just might be able to reach it. Quickly he worked on putting his plan into action. He figured that his escape attempt through the door was always foiled so perhaps and escape through the vent would pose better. He knew he didn’t a whole lot of time and the table was a rather large piece of furniture for him to move. Thankfully the floor was rubber and slick just enough that he could slid the table easier. Quickly he got up and ran over to the table, positioning himself in just ideal position for pushing a table.

Many minutes and heaves later he managed to get the table where he needed it and with no sign of people at his door. He didn’t waste any time as he climbed up on the table quickly and began jiggling the vent cover. This wasn’t the first time he had pushed the table over and was on top of it at the vent. He had been working on the screws for some time, though he never did for too long since it took a while for him to push the table over there and always tried to make sure he had enough time to push it back to the center just in case someone came, that if he now pulled the cover hard enough he could pull it off completely. It took a couple of heaves before he finally managed to accomplish this task.

It was at that time his ears twitched as the sound of shoes connecting with the floor could be heard. They were perhaps at the start of the hallway so he had perhaps a minute to crawl into the vent, which he didn’t really need. It only took about 20 seconds for him to pull himself up and his torso into the vent. He wiggled, squirmed and pulled until his legs were in the vent. He then transformed into his fox form, since it was compacter and would be easier for him to move in the vent, and took off. He could feel a cool breeze inside the vent, signifying that the air conditioner was on, which he didn’t mind too much. His fur protected him from the cold so it didn’t matter too much. It wasn’t long before he could hear the sound of feet running around below the vent and people shouting. ‘I guess they know I’m not in my room anymore’ he thought happily to himself as he continued to walk through the vent. There were light clicking sounds as he walked as his nails connected with the metal of the vent.

Many wrong turns and dead ends later Aki found himself in front of a vent cover that appeared to lead outside into the forest that surrounded the compound. ‘A little bit of lightning ought to take care of this’ he thought with a smile and touched the vent with his hand. As soon as his hand came into contact with metal lighting coursed though causing a fair amount of noise, especially in the vet, and a bit of metal melting and exploding. Aki’s ears folded back at the noise, but it only lasted for a few minutes, as soon the vent cover was soon cleared from his path. He hoped that during that time no one had been in, touching or anywhere near the vent as it was metal and connected to the cover he had just took care of. He worried about this only for a moment more before he quickly hopped to a branch that was only a little ways away from the vent. He wobbled at first and quickly transformed into his human form to grab the branch and prevent from falling from it. Once he was steady he started to search for a lower branch. Once he found one he started to slowly climb down from one branch to another, until he was low enough that he could easily jumped down to the ground without risk of harm. Once he was on the ground he made a quick scan of the area before he darted further into the forest and away from the compound.

His escape would have been flawless if it wasn’t for the fact that an escape such as this had been foreseen. He had managed to reach a fair amount of distance into the forest when his ears twitched at the sound of a branch snapping above him. He glanced up quickly, although he saw nothing. This had cause Aki to make a fatal mistake in his escape plan, he stopped running. Before long he could hear the sound of more branches snapping above all above him and leaves rattling. This of course scared the little fox causing him to back away and into the path of two rubber made nets descending down on him. “Thought you got away there didn’t ya?” came a snide voice.

As the net was grabbed and pulled up roughly, causing Aki to roll towards the back of it, a man in what appeared to be a rubber suit came into view. He was smirking at the young electric fox boy and immediately hoisted his load up over his shoulders. “The scientists wouldn’t like it if you got free my little friend” the man said with a laugh as he made his way back to the compound. Aki could tell by the lettering on the back of the man’s rubber outfit that he was one of the one’s hired by the scientists to keep their ‘experiments’ trapped and inside the compound until they were fully ready to be unleashed. The fox boy calmly let out a sigh as he stared longingly at the shrubbery and trees that he had previously passed in his would have been escape.

It wasn’t long before the vegetation melted away and was replaced by the rubber walls of the compound. One of the scientists, the woman from earlier and the one that Aki actually liked out of them all, gave a sigh of relief as he was seemingly returned unharmed. “Oh thank goodness you brought him back. I thought we had lost him there” she said with a relieved tone.

Calmly she directed the man and the parcel he carried back to the fox’s room, where the man unceremoniously dropped him in the corner that Aki was typically in. Roughly he pulled the next from the silver fox, not caring that a few strands of fur and hair came with it. The woman scientist quickly looked Aki over with her eyes and couldn’t see any traces of harm on him. “You really shouldn’t worry us like that Aki” she said waving a finger and giving him a stern stare. After a few moments she turned and ushered the man out across the room and out of the door along with herself, as she calmly bolted the door shut with the rubber lock.

The fox glanced up and around. The table that he had moved had been returned now to the center and seemingly bolted down with rather large looking bolts and the cover to the vent had been returned. He let out another sigh as he knew that, that had perhaps been the best chance to escape. “It seems I’m stuck here” he said with another sigh.

(Lol told ya that my other intro's couldn't be compared to this one. XD)

{I like all the fox pictures :D}

Name: Madelyn “Maddie” James

Age: 13 (At the start) 18 (By the time of the actual meeting of the two)

Gender: female

Element: ice

Hybrid: house cat {kitten}.

Appearance: –(with the ears and tail in the following picture when in the facility.)

(Humanish at the planned escape time. Her eyes turned blue from the element infusion) -

Kitten

Personality: Maddie is sometimes a very shy girl. Usually she prefers not to talk to strangers. Once a person opens up to her she becomes quite nice. Madelyn is very playful often liking small things to play with. She is also very creative loving to color and draw. Maddie usually is a very nice girl, but can have a temper if you upset her.

Crush: {eventually} Aki

Other: The young woman grew up with a father in the military. Her mother and father are both from America. She never stayed in the same place for long. She spent most of her childhood in Germany. Then moved to England in her later years where they found her. Maddie is very agile and easily lands on her feet when she falls. Also she is very good at jumping and catching things. She can shift into a kitten, but it is very difficult for her. Many times she fails at doing thus she attempts it very little.

{that is quite a beast. Very nice though}

In Character post

Maddie closed her eyes tightly wishing herself away. When she opened them she could just sigh. She was surrounded by those hideous white padded walls. Her father had volunteered his little girl to enter and experimental group. The other offices approved of his decision… none of them had kids. She resented him for it, but understood. A little girl was of no use to him. Madelyn James could not carry on the name of the family in the military. She could benefit now though be part of this crazy experiment. What else could she do? Tell her father no? Mother had supported the decision as well. As though the little thirteen-year old was just a burden to them. What about Nat? He was allowed to stay at home all because he was a young boy. Her mother cried the night she was taken away. Saying she was going to miss her little girl.

Sadly, her little girl was not just a little girl anymore. On her head sat small black-white ears. And on her tail bone was now a black and white tail. Where they had added the extra parts burned and ached for days. The scientists said they had made a mistake. Her shifting powers had been affected. Maddie didn’t know what they meant, she knew she could shift into her tiny kitten form, but what mistake had they made? It was hard for her to shift, but she could still do it.

Also she had the power of ice now. After the operation she screamed at the pain in her body. The metal table under her froze as she screamed, the instruments used to operate frozen, and the man standing closest to her, frozen alive. They had to put him outside to melt. He had a bad case of hypothermia, but now he was okay. The scientists had given her a new “bed”, another ugly operating table. Her shifting power wasn’t the only thing affected that day. When she had first woken up she could not see well. The infusion of the element had affected her eyes. Her once warm brown eyes now were watery blue in color. When she saw them she cried for days. Her father’s eyes were gone and she had the eyes of a stranger.

The scientists had been disappointed in her operation. She wasn’t able to perform up to par when she was first created… due to the pain and burning in her head. Maddie was supposed to begin today. She hoped the nice man scientist came to get her. He had come to check on her everyday to see how she was doing. To his delight she had improved very much. He preformed a few skills test on her to see how her hands were working. The man had even brought her crayons and paper. The old crone who she had seen once was not to her delight. His voice made her ears itch his voice was so craggily.

She sniffed the air as she smelt someone coming down the hall way. When the door of her cell opened she saw the nice man with the tan skin, green eyes, and brown hair looking down at her. He smiled as he went to enter the room. Then she heard hurried footsteps coming towards them. ”One of them has escaped! Another is going berserk!” the man exclaimed, ”We’ll have to hold off another day one Maddie this is chaos right now!” The brown haired man frowned and waved a silent good bye to the little girl. She waved back as she was closed in solitude again. ’How did someone manage to get out?’ she thought. Looking around her room there was no windows, the sealed off door, and a vent. The sneaky person must have snuck out the vent. She frowned then sat looking at the floor. ’I’ll get outta her someday. Just wait and see dad.’

Maddie heard the person being returned to his/her room. Then she heard a voice sigh surprisingly threw the vent. The young girl crawled over to it. "Hello?" she asked meekly.

Aki was a little surprised when he suddenly heard a voice. He peered around the room though he was certain he was alone now. His gaze drifted towards the door and became a frown as he didn't see anyone outside of it. "Hello?" he called out cautiously. His fox ears twitched and his eyes soon drifted towards the vent. He wasn't sure that, that was where the voice had come from, but that was the only place left he could think that the voice could have come from. "Is someone there? Can someone here me?" he asked as he started to stand and move directly under the vent. He regretted now that he had planned his escape so soon, and caused the table to be bolted down as it would have helped greatly.

"Y-Yeah, I hear you," her voice answered back. Lightly she stood up reaching for the bars on the vent. Standing on her tiptoes she couldn't even come close. "Are you t-the one who tried to escape?" she asked. Maddie's voice shook quite often when she was afraid of answering someone. Perhaps if he told her what to do she could help them escape... could they really escape? It was obviously harder than she thought especially if he had gotten caught. She leaned against the padded wall as she talked to him.

Aki could hear the shaking in the voice and figured that it would be alright to trust the person. The voice didn't sound like it belonged to one of the adults. "Y-Yeah. I got out through the vent" he called up. He tried to jump and grab onto the rubber parts of the vent cover, but he was far to short for it. Again he wished he could push the table over again. "Who are you?" he asked. He was already talking to the voice so the fox boy figured he should go ahead and ask. Occasionally he had heard rumors of another teen that was being used in the experiments so there was a chance that perhaps this person was them. If that were the case maybe they could find a way to escape together.

Maddie looked up at the high vent. Her small hands reaching high for the metal bars. There was no chance she could do it on her own. She jumped at the bars her fingers grazing the lip of the vent. "A-are you a giant? I can barely reach the lip," she answered quietly. Madelyn bent her knees then jumped grasping the one bar. Her side hit the fluffy wall, which she was now glad was padded. She grabbed the other bar with her other hand. "Oh, or you're a good jumper like me," she answered,"A-And my name's Madelyn, but I like Maddie better. How about youuu?" She cover off the vent slipped and Maddie fell down the wall. The young girl whimpered as she laid on her side. The breathe had vanished from her lungs. Usually she would land on her feet, but she was paying more attention to the person on the other side. The cover on the vent laying on top of her. She coughed as she laid there.

Aki's ears twitched at each of the person's questions. "No I'm not very tall and I'm not a very good jumper. I had a metal table in the middle of my room that I pushed over and climbed on. It's bolted down now though" he said sadly. It really had been the only good and almost completely successful idea that he had, had during his entire time there. He knew now though that it would be impossible for him to execute again. His ears twitched again as the voice told him the name. Madelyn sounded like a girl's name and he wondered if the mysterious speaker was indeed a girl. He figured that the next time the person spoke he would pay attention to the tone just to see if he was right. "I'm Aki" he called, though his ears soon twitched as he caught the sound of a possible clanking noise that sounded similar to a crash. "A-are you alright Maddie?" he called a little worriedly. This was the first person that he had spoken to that wasn't a scientist or a hired hand of some sorts, and he really didn't want them to be hurt.

The little girl laid there for a little bit stunned on the ground. She heard him mention the metal table and she looked to it a bright smile on her face. After catching her breath Maddie stood up and looked to the table. "No, I'm alright... I grabbed the bars on the vent and they kinda fell down... And surprised me... I'm usually good at landing on my feet, but I did pretty bad," she answered. Her sides did hurt, but she would be alright. It was nothing compared to what they had done to her.

Liking the boy's previous idea she scurried over to her metal table. Quietly it slid across her fluffy matted floor. When she reached the vent. "Thank Aki, I can get it here easily now," she grinned. Madelyn listened and sniffed the air... she didn't hear anyone coming... so she assumed it would be alright to take a peek at Aki. It sounded foreign... well foreign as in somewhere she had never been. Standing on her tiptoes it was much easier for her to slip into the vent. It was a tight squeeze, but she was able to crawl threw the vent. "Aki? Can you hear me?" she asked quietly. Maddie wondered if maybe the scientists went home for the night... and just the guards were left... but who knew in this place.

Aki let out a sigh of relief as Maddie said she was alright. "I'm glad then. I've found that you do have to be careful with the vent covers sometimes" he said with a chuckle. Really he'd only tried his and that one had been a bit of a problem. His ears then twitched as he could have sworn he heard the sound of a table moving, although it sounded distant and more padded than his rubber room. He wondered for a moment if it was the Maddie who was making the noise and soon had his suspicion confirmed when she thanked him. "No problem, though be careful. I'm sure they've done something to the vents since I used them" he called worriedly.

His ears twitched again as he listened for the sounds in the ventilation system. When the girl spoke next she seemed to be somewhat close to his vent. "Yeah I hear you. Do you hear me alright?" he asked hoping that no one heard the girl as she spoke or him for that matter. He wasn't sure if any of the scientists were still in, but he figured a few would be. The woman scientist that he liked usually stayed late and would occasionally check on Aki throughout the night.

Maddie listened for Aki's voice as she crawled threw the vents her cat ears tight against her head. "No, the vents are alright," she answered softly. Quietly she moved threw the vents her knees sliding across the metal. She kept listening for Aki's voice trying to figure out which ways to go. The young girl stopped seeing light ahead of her.

Once she reached it she peeked her head out seeing a boy below her. "Would you happen to be Aki?" she asked with a tilt of her head. She noticed his white ears that matched his hair. She smiled at him. "I'm Maddie." The young girl stayed inside the vent where in case someone was coming she could either flee or hurry back. No one visited her late anyway. The male scientist always went home pretty early.

Aki's ears twitched as Maddie said the vents were alright. "Ok, just be careful though" he called up at her. He tried to make a little bit of noise, though not enough to alert the scientists, so that she could possibly find him in the vent. Having a rubber room though made things difficult to make sound in though, but he tried his best. His gray eyes watched the vent intensely to keep and eye out for her, but he was still surprised when she poked through as he fell back a bit and onto his bottom from surprise.

His silver fox ears twitched again as he heard her ask if he was Aki. "Yes I'm Aki. It's nice to meet you Maddie" he said with a smile as he slowly got up. He would have extended his hand up in greeting though he wasn't sure if he would end up shocking her by accident. It was still a fifty percent chance that anyone who touched him would feel the slight sting of his lightning as he still hadn't figure out just how to prevent it and control it completely. "I'd touch you but I'm afraid I might shock you" he explained quietly and rubbed the back of his head.

She nodded a bright smile on her face. "Nice to meet you too, Aki," she said softly. Maddie wondered if she should stay in the vent or crawl down then try and crawl back up later. "Oh so you have lightning?" she asked softly, "I have ice... when I scream it freezes things... at least I think that's how it worked. I haven't tried much yet." She laid down in the vent looking down at Aki. She had seen boys before, but he was quite cute with his white hair. She smiled at him again. "You're brave for trying to run away so soon... I wouldn't be able to... Not that they've done anything besides torture me yet." She spoke of the operation as torture because that is indeed what is was. Maddie didn't know if she could ever forgive her father for this... Then she looked around his room. "Your room is rubbery looking," she said quietly. Lightly she touched the wall and pulled her hand back. "It is."

Aki calmly nodded in confirmation that he was lighting. "Have they started testing your element and abilities yet? Those are like torture too. I just really wish that they would stop already, although I know that some of them are to help me with control. I'm down to about a fifty percent chance of shocking people when I touch them or they touch me" he said with a small smile. He couldn't see Maddie too clearly, but he could tell that she appeared to have feline like ears and so he figured that she had been combined with a cat.

"I almost suceeded in running away with the vent idea, but I was caught by one of those big looking men that are stationed around in order to catch us. More than likely they'll start guarding the ventilation exits now" he said a littled sad as his ear tips drooped a bit. His tail though swished gently through the air, almost as if it was unaffected by its owner's sorrow. His head tilted to the side though when she commented on his room. "Yeah, rubber doesn't conduct electricity so they made everything I go in or am around in rubber, except for the table over there" the fox boy said pointing towards the bolted down metal table in the center of the room.

Maddie shook her head and as she shook her she tumbled out of the vent falling onto Aki. Quickly she jumped off him and stood to the side. He hadn't shocked her, but she wasn't looking to be shocked. "Uhm, S-sorry," she stuttered lightly. Then she smiled at him. He was little bit smaller than her. "No, they haven't started testing me yet... something went wrong when they operated on me, so I've been resting for a long time." She lightly brushed her boot against the ground. "I was supposed to start today, then you ran away... so they canceled it," she added. Madelyn frowned when he mentioned the big men. She knew who they were... military men... like her dad. Lightly she stepped closer to him. "They're military men... my dad's not here, but he's one of them... that's how I ended up here." Maddie looked down at her brown boots feeling sad that her dad had sent her here. Then she peered around his room. "Mine's just padded white walls..." She took another step closer to him enjoying his tail. "Your tail is really pretty." The young girl was tempted to reach out and touch it, but he did say he might zap her on accident so she kept her hands to herself.

Aki was a little surprised when Maddie fell out of the vent, and even more so when he ended up being the landing pillow and not accidentally shocking the girl. "It's...alright..." he said getting up on his hands and knees, shaking his head when she stood up to get his senses back. He noticed when she stood that she was a little bigger than he was and that she was indeed fused with a cat as the cat tail and ears could now be fully seen. His gaze went from the floor to hers when she mentioned that something had apparently gone wrong during the operation and how because of his attempt to escape she had been spared the torture of being tested. "Then I guess you've been spared another day thankfully. Though you mentioned that something went wrong? Do you know what it was?" he asked curiously, after all he was fused with a fox and so naturally he was curious.

The fox boy also listed calmly when she mentioned how it was she got here and that the big men were from the military, and that her father was one of them though not here. He thought about how he had got here himself. "I was brought here by one of those miritary...ahem sorry, words I've just heard in English are sometimes hard for me to pronounce...military men when they came to my home. They told me and my parents that I had been chosen to test something exciting though they didn't say what. We lived in mostly isolation since a lot of people didn't visit the mountain of our home, so we were excited that some came and agreed to go along with it since they just said that it was exciting. I know it's silly..." he said again rubbing the back of his head as his Japanese accent only seemed to really affect his speech when he first tried to say military. His head tilted to the side as he stood up when she mentioned her room was just padded. He smiled though when she mentioned his tail was pretty. "Thank you, I like your ears and tail, they're cute" he said fairly happily.

Maddie looked at him as he shook his head. "I didn't hurt you did I?" she asked quietly. Her hands clasped together as she looked at the fox in worry. Then she shrugged when he asked what went wrong. "I don't know what they did wrong... but my eyes used to be brown... and when they infused me I couldn't see at first... and now they're this weird blue color," she said leaning towards him point at her eyes, "And they said I have a harder time shifting than the other experiment... and my pain lasted longer... and there was burning." She shivered as she thought about it.

The young girl smiled widely when he said "miritary." "So I guess you aren't english, eh?" she asked softly. Maddie had noticed his accent, but had no idea what kind it was. She had heard all sorts of accents, but never one like Aki's. Then she shook her head again when he said it was silly how he got here. "No, they just too advantage of you the meanies," she answered. The girl blushed a little when he said her tail and ears were pretty. "Thank," she said quietly. Taking another step towards the boy seeing she had skittered quite far away. Her tail batted back and forth as she looked at him.

Aki kindly smiled and shook his head when Maddie asked if she had hurt him. "No I'm alright" he said gently showing his arms front and back as a sign to show that he wasn't hurt. It was a little bit of a child-like gesture, but he was only thirteen after all. His head then tilted to the side as she explained about her eyes and her shifting ability, though his ear tips drooped a little as the 'other experiment' was said, knowing full well that he was that other experiment. "Does anything hurt now?" he asked with some concern. He could remember and still feel the dull ache of his ears and tail. When they had first been infused on him he could remember how blinding the pain had been, and then to add a lightning element on top of it just seemed to make it worse.

The silver fox boy chuckled a little as she asked about his ethnicity in a way. "Well you're half right. I'm only half English, my other half is Japanese. I lived on Mount Kita-dake, which is situated in the city of Minami-Alps in the Yamanashi Prefecture of Japan, so my accent is more Japanese than it is English. That makes it difficult for me sometimes with new English words, especially if they have an 'l' in them. It's hard to pronounce them like an 'l' rather than an 'r' and I sometimes forget" he said with another small chuckle as he again rubbed the back of his head. As he rubbed a small spark of electricity seemed to shoot from his hair and over his hand and arm before disappearing.

Aki again let out a chuckle as Maddie called the military people meanies. "I suppose so, though it's also our fault for not finding out more" he said with a sigh though a friendly smile remained on his face. He had to admit that when the men had come and asked for him to be allowed to participate in an exciting experiment he had been rather excited about it and willing to do it. He knew now he should have found out what exactly they had, had in store. "And you are very welcome" he said as his friendly smile increased as she thanked him and took a few steps closer. He was glad that he had finally met someone he could speak with freely and looked to be about his own age.

The young girl smiled when he said he had not been hurt. "That's good, I didn't mean to fall out... I slipped," she giggled. She had noticed his ears droop and realized he was the other experiment they were talking about. "Don't worry about it Aki, it's their fault. I couldn't have messed anything up... at least not that I know of." Lightly she tapped her chin thinking if anything hurt. It was just that weird burning sensation left. "Not really, they just burn."

Maddie heard him explaining where he was from, but she had no idea at all what he was talking about. Lightly she rubbed the back of her head. "Sorry, I really don't know where you are talking about... I grew up all over Germany, then we moved to England when I was around ten or so.... We moved all the time because of my dad being in the military," she answered quietly. She knew where Japan was on a map, but nothing specific about it. Her dad hated the Japanese, they killed a lot of her family in the big wars, he would say. Maddie had never had friend's for long. She would move away and they would be gone. She knew how to speak German, but hardly did. There was no need anymore. She saw the little spark he created and was amazed.

She smiled realizing she wasn't going to convince him that the military were big meanies and would have just taken him anyway. Maddie took a few more steps closer only being a few feet away from him. She tilted her head and smiled." Do you have any brother's or sisters?" she asked. The curious side of the girl was coming out where she asked waaay to many questions. Since she was so close she was tempted to touch his ears... She would try before she left just to see if he shocked her.

Aki chuckled gently. "It's alright it happens. The walls and vents are a bit slippery" he said as his friendly smile remained. The fox boy nodded his head in understanding. He knew that it was more than likely there fault, after all they were only chosen to be along for the 'ride'. He had remembered that during the operation he didn't have to do anything more than just lay on the table, and he figured it was probably the same for Maddie. He was a bit relieved though to find that anything didn't hurt. "I can understand the burning sensation. My ears and tail still hurt a little where they were connected, but I'm sure in time it'll fade away" he said happily.

He listened quietly as the cat girl had to admit that she didn't know exactly where he was talking about. He figured that was pretty natural since not many knew the exact areas if they didn't live there themselves in Japan. "It's ok, not many really know exactly where it is. It's essentially on a mountain near a city if that helps any" he said with a quiet chuckle. He then listened as she explained where she was essentially from. He knew where the countries that she talked about were, and could understand that she had to move a lot because of her father's career. "That must have been difficult to constantly move around" he said quietly tilting his head to the side. He had lived in the same area all his life, but as he had said not many visitors came around and so he really didn't have anyone other than his parents to be his friends. Occasionally though he did go out and build a snowman to be his friend, although he would eventually melt or be knocked over by the wind.

As Maddie asked her quesiton on if he had any siblings, the fox gently shook his head. "No I was an only child" he said again with a smile. He was again happy that she wasn't scared by the bolt of lightning that had been created from him rubbing the back of his head, after all he couldn't help it as it had been created from the friction between his hair and hand. He had wondered many of times on what it was like to have a sibling to play with, but he also knew that his parents were satisfied in just having one good child. "What about you? Do you have any siblings?" he asked just as curiously. His ears perked up a bit and started moving about, picking up all the sounds within the building. He could hear a ways down the tapping of someone's pencil on a desk and the footsteps of the guards patroling different hallways to ensure everything was alright.

Maddie smiled at Aki. "Yeah the vent is kinda slippery... figured that out the hard way," she laughed awkwardly. The young girl frowned at the boy. "Yeah, it kinda stinks. I hope the burning goes away really soon." She sighed softly as she rubbed the spot where her ears were.

The young girl smiled glad it was okay she didn't really know where he was from. "It sounds pretty. I like the mountains," she said quietly. Maddie nodded when Aki said it was hard for her to constantly be moving around. "I never had friends. I'd move and they'd stay there... Always changing," she answered quietly with a sigh, "At least I'll get to be around you for awhile though."

Madelyn nodded when he said he had no siblings. She wondered what it was like to be an only child. Perhaps her parents wouldn't have given her up if she had been an only child. The girl nodded when he asked her. "Yeah, I have a brother. He's a year older than me... so he's still young too. His name is Nat," she answered. Maddie knew if she had been a boy her parents would have kept her and put her into the service when she was older. Softly she sighed as she thought about it. Her ears drooping a little as she thought.

Aki nodded as Maddie agreed that the vents were slippery. He too had discovered that during his last escape attempt. He had also learned that at times they were a little difficult to navigate through, as one could get lost pretty easily in them. It was really only by chance he had found the correct way. He then turned his attention to the burning sensation that the cat girl was talking about. "Do you know how long ago your operation was? If it was after mine I can possibly tell you how long it will be until it's only a really dull throb" he offered with a smile.

The fox boy nodded again when she mentioned that it sounded pretty. "It is. The mountains are always snowy and my home overlooked the city below. It was very peaceful up there, and it was usually snowing. I think that's why not many people came to visit" he said tilting his head to the side and putting a finger to his cheek, as well as moving his gaze to the ceiling, in thought. To him it sounded pretty reasonable or logical. His gaze then returned when she mentioned she didn't have friends. "But you got to meet a lot of people in different areas that you played with right? Although I can understand the going away, though usually it was my friends that went away. Either the sun would come out for too long and melt them or the wind would knock them over. Before I was taken here I had just created another one that I had named Oppy, he seemed like the sturdiest snowman I had built yet. I don't know though if he's still there, the sun might have melted him or the wind may have blew him over like the rest" he said gently, obviously referring to his snowman friends. He knew that it really wasn't a great comparison, but it was something. "I will admit it was starting to get a little lonely here, but you're here now so I don't feel lonely anymore" he said happily. He would have clasped her hands in delight, but he didn't want to shock her by accident.

His ears twitched when Maddie mentioned that she had a brother named Nat. He wondered a bit what it was like to have an older brother, but he figured that the subject was sensative when he saw her ears droop a bit. He figured that perhaps she was sad and missed him, as he didn't know the actual cause. "Don't worry, I'm sure you'll get to see him again" he said hopefully with a smile, hoping that this would cheer the girl up.

Once again the girl tapped her chin thinking of when her operation was...three days ago or two days ago? Maybe even four days ago? "It was maybe four days ago? I really can't remember... the past few days have all blended together... and with no windows I never knew when the day ended or began," she sighed softly. It was horrible to think her memory was already that bad. She had been to depressed to even count the days. Why bother she may be here forever.

Maddie listened as he explained the mountains. They sounded truly beautiful. She had loved the snow when she was younger always wanting to play, but her parents never approved since there were always chores to be done. "I would come visit you," she answered with a smile, "It sounds very lovely up there." The young girl smiled when he said she must have had plenty of friends where ever she went. "No, I'd meet one person.... maybe... two... I'm actually kinda shy," she laughed,"I think I was really lonely... that's how I ended up coming to find you." Maddie blushed when she said this. It was true. She had been lonely and curiosity had won over shyness.

She shook her head when he said he would see him again. Honestly, she wasn't sure if she wanted to see Nat again. "If I had been a boy my parents wouldn't have a agreed to this... We're a big military family, and my parents thought this would be a way for me to help serve the effort... Sure, mom was sad when I left, but she wouldn't even try to stand up to day... Not that I blame her he's scarey." Madelyn felt a silent tear roll down her cheek as she thought about home. She somewhat missed it. Mostly just her mom, her bed, and her mom's cooking.

Aki nodded his head in understanding. "I can understand that. It's difficult to tell when a day ends and begins, but I can usually figure out the day from what the scientists say. Anyways the burning should dull a bit more in the next day or so" he fox boy said gently. Sometimes he could hear the date from the talk outside of his door, but that only happened every so once in a while. He really hadn't been there for too long himself, and he figured that he probably wouldn't be leaving anytime soon.

He nodded his head when she said that it sounded beautiful. "It is rather pretty" he said gently. He smiled as she said she would come visit him. Even though he was sure that he wouldn't be returning anytime soon to his home, possibly never, he was glad to know that at least one person would be willing to come and visit. He continued to smile as she stated that she only met a few people and was rather shy. He could understand that fully well too. "I'm glad you did. Now we both won't be lonely" he said happily.

The fox's years droop a little as he saw Maddie's sadness and her tears. He wished he could brush them away, but his lightning ability would for sure make that impossible. "I'm sure your parents are trying to find a way to get you out of here" he said trying to cheer her up. He agreed that the men were a bit scary, at least the ones here were.

Maddie nodded when he said the burning should dull in days. "I hope so." Her voice was quiet as a few more tears rolled down her face. Aki was being optimistic about her parents, but she knew her father would never take her back. He wanted to to serve her countrymen one way or another. She felt as though she was going to crumble to the floor. "He... would never take me back... mother may want him to, but she would never... ever go against his word." She hiccuped as the tears rolled a little faster. "Nat was allowed... to stay home because... he could join the army... there's no other way for me to help." Her tears continued to roll. Maddie wanted to reach out and hug him. She just needed to feel she wasn't so alone. It hurt right now, her family had abandoned her. Lightly she held her arms out reaching up for him... anyone honestly.
