Hikako backed up quickly behind his mother's grave and kept backing up. "What do you mean?" he asked sadly.

"They cut a piece of string and wherever they randomly cut it is how long your life will be." he said.

"A piece of string?....Do you really expect me to believe that!?" he yelled at his father angrily. Hikako couldnt seem to believe that his mother's life was determined by a piece of string that someone had cutted.

"Well it's true, whether you believe it or not." he said.

Hikako looked down at the ground and grinded his teeth. "No....y-your wrong....." his gums started bleeding from the pressure he was pressing against his teeth. "You have to be lying!! That cant be true!!" He screamed as he closed his eyes tightly.

"Well, I have to go...I'll be back in a few years." he said as he stood up.

Hikako stood still and looked over to his father once more, this time he wasnt as angry but rather confused. "Back?....where are you going?" He asked sadly.

"I can't tell you, just remember that I love you and I always will, I'll try to get back as soon as I can." he said. He hugged Hikako and waved, as he was waving, he dissapeared.

Hikako looked as his father disappeared before his very eyes and just kneeled down on the floor as he got soaked in the rain, he started sobbing. After a few minutes he got back up and started walking around town in the rain, he walked all over the place. He found himself right outside of Anna's house and decided to give her a visit. He went to the front door and knocked on it, waiting for her to answer it.

Anna walked to the door as she was finishing french braiding her hair for bed. She opened it and pulled Hikako inside within and instant. "What happened?"

Hikako stood there still drenched, but he gave her a little innocent smile just to hide his saddness for his father and mother. "Oh its nothing. I just went out for a little walk. Didnt know it was going to rain though." he started to laugh a bit.

"You may stay in the guest room if you'd like." Anna said lovingly.

Hikako smiled at Anna. "Thank you." he said softly and walked into the guest room. he stood there and looked around the room, seeing pictures of her and her parents. It had reminded him of his and made him a bit sad and angry.

Later, Anna brought blankets in for Hikako. "Here, just in case." she said quietly. She gently set them down on the bed and sat by them.

Hikako turned around and looked at Anna with a smile. "T-t-thank you..." he had studdered a little bit, since the rain that had fallen all over him didnt try completely yet so it started to get cold, but that wasnt the only reason, he did also studder because of how many different feelings he had felt at the moment.

Anna smiled, hugging him. "If you need anything, just let me know. I usually lie in bed for a while before I go to bed." she said nodding. "And I mean that."

Hikako smiled and nodded to comply with Anna. "A-alright........th-thank you.." He said with a smile. He walked over to the bed and sat down covering himself in the blankets, his entire body still shivering, he looked up at her before she decided to leave. "C-Could....um....I-I get some....tea?....." he asked as his entire body wouldnt seem to stop shaking.

Before she walked out the door, Anna smiled and nodded, turning up the heat a little bit. "It'll get warm in a bit." she assured him.

Seeing Anna leave the room Hikako nodded and laid down onto the bed and closed his eyes. "Thank you....." he said softly knowing she wouldnt be able to hear him anyway.

Later, Anna came back with Hikako's tea, seeing him asleep, a small grin arose on her face. She set the tea by his bed and pulled the covers gently over his shoulder amd wishing him good night.

Hikako slept peacefully in the bed, his eyes closed and with a small but gentle smile crossed his face. After a while he bgean to wake up to the smell of his tea, he looked over to the table beside him and saw the cup of tea there, he picked it up and began to sip it.

Anna sat in her bed, reading Pride and Prejudice. She slammed the book and set it on the table, then slid her body down and closed her eyes.

After sipping the tea Hikako put down the tea cup and got up, he walked over to the nearest window and looked outside with a frown on his face. "Mother......I'm sorry.....you died....because of me..." he said as a few tears began to roll down his cheeks.
