As Kadence back tracked to the front of the store, she noticed her oldest sibling, her sister Leela, looking at an almost sickeningly adorable monkey like plushie.
"You sure 'bout that one?" Her sister jumped letting the doll fall over on it's back, "Kadence!" she said obviously startled, "I didn't see you there." Kadence just sort of smirked at her big sister. She was in eigth grade, "so mature" and "so adult" yet here she was contemplating on buying a doll. She suppressed a giggle, and the urge to be a little snot, and instead asked, "Have you seen mom and dad? I've decided on a doll." she said said holding up her choice of toy proudly. "That thing?" her sister said wrinkled up her nose as she caught sight of the doll, "It's so dark and creepy lookin' are you sure that's the one you want. Maybe you want something less...skele-scary?" she said gesturing to the rack of dolls beside her. The rack of dolls that looked exactly the same. Same bright colors, same "uber-adorable" expressions. Kadence puffed her cheeks out at her sister, quick to defend her choice. "Yes I want him. And he's not creepy, he's unique." she smiled at the plush, and switched tactics, "I mean really, Lee..." she said looking up innocently at her big sister, " If you wanted that stuffed animal," she said gesturing with her head towards the monkey doll her older sister has knocked over, "All you have to do is ask. I'm sure mom and dad will get it for you." Slightly embarrased her sister qucikly said, "No, no. I was just making sure, you know what you're getting. Because if we leave and you suddenly decide you don't want it, mom isn't gonna bring you back in to change your mind." she said quickly regaining her bossy, big sister composure. "Well, I'm sure." Kadence said firmly. "M'kay well, c'mon and let's find the parents then." said Leela as she led her little sister to where she figured her parent's would be. |
Ethan couldn't do anything but just watch Abigail on the floor. Although he heard the fron door open, he didn't even look up not until he heard the young man say something about ice. Only then did he look up, but quickly back to Abby when she spoke up quietly. He watched leave, and after she left Adam walked up to him and the Mother. Thats the guy from before.. Ethan thought as he seen Adam reach for him only to be grabbed by the mom in the same fashion. Though he was able to get Ethan away from the mom and wrestle his way out of the womans' grip. He watched as she returned to her zombie trance like state. Her eyes never the television the whole time.
Ethan found himself in the kitchen and back in to the girls arms. He could help but smile, he missed her. He wasn't really paying attention to the conversation after the brother said something about the mom getting weaker. He was too busy starting at her wrist, and getting angry wouldn't really help much. Mentally sighing he watched as Adam left. Ethan noticed the sarcasm clear inside her voice and sighed. What could he do? |
This time Sin let him pick her up without struggling...Much. She smiled faintly as she felt him kissing the top of her head, though pulled a face at the idea of sleep. "I can try, I can't promise anything though." She warned him before moving a little closer to him. He was warm and being held in his arms felt comforting to the girl. Blushing faintly, she could feel her cheek heating up as he kissed it. Giving him a look Sin shook her head slightly. "And just remember I can put you in the bottom of the bag beneath the books if you act pervy...Bye Jacob..." She whispered quietly, resting her head back on his chest as she spoke. |
