Mekia was watching everything silently, and with interest. She smirked at Johnny's response to the "no kids" comment, and frowned when the one called Coon spoke about distrust. She prefferred to trust everyone until they proved themselves to be otherwise, and didn't like people distrusting others for no apparent reason. However the fire wolf wouldn't be mad in this case, for she sensed a touch of sorrow and memories in Coon's voice as he spoke of humans killing innocent things. She couldn't blame him. She had seen senseless killing in action before, and hadn't liked the outcome.
Mekia constantly kept an eye on the platinum dog Doggy, while listening intently to the scene unfolding before them. She chose, for once, to be silent, patiently waiting for a confirmation of these strangers as friend or foe. |
Coon holds Doggy close, not letting him go, even though he knew that Doggy wanted to play with the vampires. "Not all humans are bad, I'll grant you that. After all, we all were human at one time or another."
Johnny, holding his ribs still, shakes his head. "Not all of us. My line is born werewolves. Granted, from what my brother did, we're still contagious to humans..." He moves to his bike, opening the panel to reveal the vials for his plasma sword. ...shit... Well, least it was nearly empty. Derrick looks between the dog, the man that was clearly not human, and the wolf he was traveling with. "In nine out of ten cases, immortals will kill for a reason, even if you humans can't perceive what reason could prompt such savagery. But we aren't all about killing and death. As you've seen, some of us try not to destroy humans." "Coon, the werewolf's hurt. Shouldn't we do something to help?" He wanted to go sniff the wolf, but he knew that Coon wanted him close, so he didn't struggle out of his mate's grip. Coon always told him to avoid other lycanthropes, as they generally didn't like their strain of the disease. Something about it not being the 'proper' strain. "We have wraps in the trailer that we can use for him, don't we?" Coon pets Doggy's head, his mind elsewhere. "Yes, perhaps. He seems upset about something on his mangled bike though." The brunette male sniffs the air, lifting his head a bit. "You have plasma radiation!" "Yeah, it busted in the landing. Kyla, get as far back as you can." Johnny pulls out the cracked vial, making sure the plasma was at the bottom half that was still intact. He slowly walks a ways away from the group, drops to his knees with a growl, and begins to dig a hole with his free hand. The hand holding the broken vial was already beginning to burn, the fur already melting from the back of his paw and arm, the flesh beginning to redden and burn away. He digs faster, making a hole the size of his fist, about a foot or so deep. "I shouldn't have jumped the embankment. I should have just driven down it... I'm so stupid." He knew the ground wouldn't cancel out the radiated properties of the glowing substance, but it should keep it away from people for long enough that it would become innate. Derrick goes to Johnny's bike, noting the minute amounts of green stuff on the bike itself. Snagging some grass and weeds, he wipes it off before it can do damage to the bike. "At least the others are safe and secure. Was that the one I drained at the hotel?" Johnny nods from where he was crouched, burying the waste. "If you hadn't drained it, it might not have broken. But also, if you hadn't drained it, and it did break, it would have burned through and torched the bike in a matter of minutes." He goes back toward them, not approaching them completely, his right hand hidden from immediate view. "Don't kick my bike, please? I'm going to sit over here where my idiocy can't touch you easily." He was talking about the radiation on his arm, but he knew they'd hear it as him being melodramatic. His arm made it hard for him to want to explain what he meant. Coon nods to Doggy, who takes off at a run to the truck hidden behind some bushes and a small hill covered in rocks. If the were-dog never went there, it would have been impossible to detect the truck with the naked eye, immortal or not. Coming back to the party was a six foot male with platinum blond hair, and a smile on his face. "We can fix his ribs with this stuff. But I'll give it to you guys. I know if it was Coon, I'd be angry if anyone else tried to help him that I didn't know." |
Mekia took it from the man and smiled. "Thanks. I understand the sympathy." She turned to Johnny and started walking toward him, then realized she didn't really know what she was doing. Not only that, but she wasn't technically a full member of the party yet, and may as well be seen like that were-dog there. She looked around sheepishly, waiting for someone who knew what they were doing to take the wrappings.
|
For a few moments it seemed Virsat wasn't sure what to do. He watched Mekia and when she moved towards Johnny, that seemed to spur him into action. He growled at Mekia and rather rudely snatched those wrappings from her, giving her a look of utter disapproval before he glanced to Derrick and moved towards Johnny. Virsat frowned slightly as he approached Johnny, glancing to Derrick again. "...Derrick..come help me." He called softly, his words light and only slightly uncertain. Virsat knew what he was doing..but..he wasn't entirely sure what to do for the radiation burns.
|
Derrick nods, following after the not-so-timid vampire. Passing Mekia, he pats her on the shoulder. "Don't worry, girl. Virsat just seems to have imprinted on Johnny. Like a kitten that's used to seeing a couple of people, but isn't completely okay with new people coming in. Give him time." He continues on, giving Mekia a kind 'older brother' smile over his furry shoulder. He knew that the grin might be lost on the firewolf, given that she was human and he was not, but a smile is a smile nonetheless.
"Virsat, you don't have to be angry with her. She didn't break my ribs." Johnny was watching the girl, his own smile on his face, but his was oozing with pain. |
After Kyla had gotten off Mai quickly shifted not needing to change into her clothes, a trick she had learned letting her shift directly into her fully clothed self. walking over to the back back Kyla she gently lifted off the back back before strapping on her myriad of weapons, and taking a bottle of blood out of her bag, drinking it down quickly.
"Hmn i think its more like a tom cat trying to protect his territory, rather then a kitten not used to new things." crumpling up the bottle Mai caps it keeping it in its crumpled state bfore putting it back in her bag. "but I do agree, Time is will tell, after all, time heals all wounds; no matter how large" turning to face the group she takes in the two newest arrivals with calculating eyes, which show no idea as to her thoughts within. |
As soon as the blue werewolf pulled out the cracked container Kyla walked off and as far from the group as possible without losing sight of them in the dark night. It was within her interest to follow Johnny's advice so she didn't complain much but she still felt annoyed by how the owner of the dog and Virsat viewed her. She didn't really prefer to be seen as the weaker species, it was just that she wasn't used to being treated this way by monsters who could easily rip her head off. One way or another, it seemed like they were insulting her because she was human and not because they were really afraid of her.
Once she reached a large boulder, she climbed up and sat on it before staring at the rest of the group. Kyla was surprised to see another man with them, a man with platinum blond hair. Because she had her back turned to them for a while, she did not see the big dog run off and come back as a medical supply carrying Were. "Who's this guy now?!" she asked herself, counting the people near the bikes to see if there were anymore newcomers she missed or if she was just seeing things. |
Virsat frowned slightly and almost shrank back away from Johnny. For a few moments uncertain. He glanced at Derrick. Were they angry at him? A shiver ran down his spine and he almost dropped the wrappings he had taken from Mekia. Surely they would discipline him sooner or later. He had been misbehaving so much lately. Partly he was trying to test his boundaries..and partly..he wasn't quite sure what had come over him. He shivered again and looked down at the ground. Digging the toe of his boot into the dirt. "I'm sorry!" The words were rushed..as if he couldn't get them out quick enough. Throwing them out in front of him as if they were a shield he could hide behind.
|
Derrick stares at Virsat, his eyes widened. "For what? You didn't do anything wrong." He looks back to Mekia, over to where Kyla sat away from the group, to the platinum blond 'Doggy', his mate 'Coon', and back to Johnny, sitting injured on the ground. "No one is mad at you, Virsat. We'd like to see you treat the fire wolf and human better, but you're entitled to your own feelings about people and things."
"Yeah, Vir. Don't think you're in trouble just because you don't like something. We know you can't stand the females, and we pretty much know why, but you have to understand that Mekia and Kyla aren't going anywhere. Not unless they choose to leave." Johnny was reaching out with his good hand, reaching for Virsat to come closer, even though what he wanted was the burn treatment in the first aid kit and the bandages. Coon was standing beside Doggy, now slightly shorter than the male. "You think we should tell them we have real names, or let them call us by the names we call each other?" Doggy, his arm around Coon's shoulder's, rests his cheek on his mate's perfectly styled hair, breathing the scent of the cleaner male. "Let's wait till they ask, then laugh at them for not asking sooner." "Heh, sounds good to me." They were talking quietly, but no doubt a nearby immortal could hear them. |
Virsat had almost flinched when Johnny reached out towards him. When he looked at Johnny and Derrick he seemed slightly uncertain. With a soft sigh he came closer to Johnny with the first aid kit and bandages. "....I did something wrong.....you like them...so I should like them too." He was frowning and he shivered again, reaching up with his free hand to tug at that collar around his throat. Things had been much easier with Tidar. At least then he knew exactly where his boundaries were. With Tidar, he knew his proper place. With these people, though he did like Derrick and Johnny they were both nicer than Tidar, he had no idea where he stood, or what his proper place was.

"then what are y0our names then?" Mai wasnt fond of games, being the more strait forward type of person. sighing in relief as the injuries that she had sustained got better she focused her normally unnerving stare on the two weres. "and, if i may ask, what species are you exactly? your not were wolves... i can tell that much, you dont stink of dog" Mai says this last bit as a sort of good nature jibe at Johnny and Mekia.
|
Coon clearly didn't like her tone of voice. It sounded impertinent to him. "Being rude, infant, is no way to get information. And before you consider violence as an answer, take heed of your surroundings and the events of the time since you landed here." Assuming the cat-vamp didn't go the route of anger, and actually listened to Coon's words, she might notice that he's really old. Coon doubted she would listen though. Vampires were always acting like they knew everything...
"Tch. That girl is a total buzz kill. Coon, do you think maybe she got a bad pint? Perhaps she should buy her blood direct instead of in bulk. There's always one or two bad bags in the mix." Doggy shakes his head, scratching at the slightly short, but still bouncing, locks of hair. "Ugh, Coon, I think I got fleas again..." "You better not have! I just cleaned the house, you better not bring fleas back in there!" Coon was away from Doggy's side and glaring at the taller male in less than a second. His eyes narrowed, a laugh escaping his throat. "Why do you do that?" Doggy, who really does have a real name, snickers and hugs Coon again. "Because you get so riled up so quickly. Why else?" He turns his pale blue eyes on the impertinent vampire. "Also, demanding to know one's breed is not only rude, but none of your business. If you want to know, you can ask, but we may not answer." ~X~ Derrick, who was standing closer to Virsat...and standing...takes the vampire into a furry hug. "Virsat, you have to stop thinking we're going to punish you. You're not a child, and we aren't your parents. Punishments aren't something I was ever good at." His arms, one around Virsat's shoulders and the other around his abdomen, held the vampire close, but allowed movement if he wanted to jump away quickly. "If you've been testing your boundaries here, I don't know if that's what you're doing, but you'll find that you don't have any." Johnny nods, having snagged the kit from Virsat as Derrick was hugging him, and begins to rub some of the soothing cream on his slowly healing hand. "You don't have to like the girls, Virsat. But if you were a little nicer, it'd make the tension levels drop a little. But really, that's up to you." He rubs the cream into wounds that he knew were recommended on the tube to see a doctor for. "Just don't attack Kyla or Mekia, and everything will be alright." "And stop thinking we're going to hit you, please?" Derrick whispers the next part, though he knows that Johnny and Virsat can hear it. He didn't want other eavesdroppers to hear it as well. "It breaks my heart when you flinch away from us, thinking you're about to be hit." Johnny looks away from the two, his eyes falling on the other couple nearer to the bikes, the vampire next to her wreck, the wolf just standing around, and the human far from the group. How did I fall in with people again...? When are they doing to get tired of my drama that I seem to bring with me? I'm always hurting myself. They must be getting tired of that by now. His mind was running a mile a second in those few moments since he spoke last. He lowers his gaze to his hand, wrapping a strip of bandage around the heavily injured bits. "I know you haven't known me for long, Virsat, but I'm not the type to start beating on a person for having a different opinion than my own." |
Virsat's body was tense when Derrick pulled him into a hug. It tensed even more at the touch, however as Derrick and Johnny continued to speak in soft tones to him he relaxed against Derrick. Turning slightly so he could hide his face against Derrick's furry shoulder and closed his eyes. His hands rested lightly on Derrick's chest and for a few moments Virsat just inhaled deeply, taking in Derrick's scent, he seemed to relax a little more. Slowly he turned his head and opened his eyes, looking at Johnny. Virsat was very quiet.
|
This seemed much more normal. Someone fighting while at least two people were cuddling. Yes, this seemed like the norm for this group. Kyla couldn't help but give a small smirk as she observed what was going on with the small amount of light her eyes could take in. The blond looked to the only other person who didn't seem to be caught up in a conversation, Mekia. Like her, the werewolf was watching the rest interact. Mai and the two new guys were on one side of the mood spectrum while Virsat, Derrick and Johnny were on the other.
The city girl sighed before putting her hand on her stomach. 'Wonder if we're gonna be staying here for the night?' she thought, looking around to see if there were enough trees to properly shade vampires from sunlight. It didn't look like it. 'And when are they gonna be done? I'm getting hungry...' Pushing the thoughts of freshly killed cow out of her mind, she preferred to reminisce on the comforts of home that she left behind. Warm cooked food and hot chocolate. She couldn't take it anymore. "Hey, you guys got anything a human could eat? You know, something not raw?" she called out, potentially ruining the moment between two certain vampires. In truth, she was hesitant to ask. She was used to taking care of herself and not relying much on others. But she swallowed her pride and did her best to hide her embarrassment. The woman was hungry and wanted a hot meal. |
The happy lycanthropic couple hears Kyla's request and acts on it before the vampire can say anything. "I'm sure it's safe now, if you'd like to come over and tell me what you were hoping to eat? I have plenty of steaks and fish I could prepare for you. Maybe some nice stir fry vegetables? Perhaps some rice thrown in?" She'd found one of Coon's hobbies that he exercised as often as lycanthropically possible. Which meant every night, whenever they stopped somewhere new, whenever he woke up in the middle of the day...
"Yay, Coon is making food! I'll get the drinks out! Okay people~" He claps his hands twice "~who wants what to drink? Come on, if you can't drink normal beverages, we do have a blood supply cabinet." Coon laughs, leaving Doggy to take the orders from their new friends, and goes to the truck. Starting the engine, he pulls it forward, making sure to clear the hill of the line of trailers, and pulls the monstrous caravan length vehicle closer. The truck was a massive double duel-axle pick-up with a hitch in the bed for the RV trailer that it hauled. The sheer size of the truck alone enabled it to haul the massive length of the RV trailer, the three pop-up trailers hooked to the back, and the two modified pickup beds that were hooked to the back of the pop-up trailers. All in all, the size of the vehicle and what it was hauling, was large enough that the single hill that hid the truck itself wouldn't have been able to hide all of it. "Hold on, where was that monster hidden!" Johnny was staring at the beast on wheels with wide eyes, realization starting to dawn when Doggy spoke next. With a laugh, Doggy replies. "There's an exit off of the highway that leads down here. The trailers were on the ramp. It'll be fun trying to get the beast back up the hill." He goes to the RV to start turning on the lights and such. The RV had solar panels all along the top of the trailer that stored energy during the day for use at night. "...we trashed our bikes for nothing...?" Johnny was glaring at Derrick, who actually looked ashamed for his rash decision to jump the embankment at the first smell of water. "Well, no one told you to follow me..." He was nearly hiding behind Virsat now, not trying to use him as a shield, but just trying to his his embarrassment. If he wasn't a black tiger, he would be bright red with shame. |
Mekia laughed at the sight. "I'd say it's just a bike, but I have a feeling Johnny and Derrick both would be offended." She looked to Kyla and Mai, and shrugged with a look of 'Oh well' in her eyes. "Boys will be boys."
At the montrous truck Mekia felt a spark of curiousity come up from deep within her. It quickly ignited a flame, and as soon as she was finished laughing and speaking she had hopped over to the truck, jogging it's length a couple times. "What does all of it do???" The fire wolf asked, completely entranced by something so... massive. It took her a few minutes to comprehend it all, much less be able to understand an answer. And then she remembered. Food. She looked to Coon and Doggy, paused midstep in another run-down of the caravan-like vehicle. "Drinks? I'll take a soda, if you have one. But not diet. That stuff tastes like plastic." A pink tongue slid out of her mouth in disgust and her face took on a revolted expression. Almost as if she had actually tasted plastic before... |
Virsat wriggled against Derrick. Those crimson eyes glowing slightly, the looked to Johnny for a moment, then glanced at Mekia. Turning his nose up slightly at her and pressing himself hard and tight against Derrick. As if trying to hide against him. He wriggled a bit but wasn't trying to go anywhere. Just..wriggling against Derrick and clutching tightly to him. "I'm tired..." He mumbled the words softly. Glancing at Johnny. Johnny still needed medical attention. Virsat frowned, he was taking all the attention away from Johnny.
Virsat pulled away from Derrick hesitantly. He pointed to a spot a little distance away, but close to the water. "Ima go sit over there and think about some things.." He was frowning and his words were mumbled softly. That body only slightly tense as he fully moved away from Derrick. "You should wrap him up." Those eyes danced from Derrick to Johnny and then Virsat had turned and was moving towards where he had said he was going. Once there he sat on the ground, watching Derrick and Johnny though. He did feel safe near those two, and he didn't really want to be away from them. Not even such a short distance as this. He was still within hearing of them, especially with his sensitive ears. Virsat was frowning deeply. |
Kyla couldn't believe what she heard. As the options of "steak", "fish", "stir fried vegetables", and even "rice reached her ears, her thoughts immediately conjured culinary masterpieces even though she barely knew the person speaking nor did she know anything about how he cooked. At first she thought he was just kidding in some sick twisted way but to her and her stomach's delight, the platinum blond one brought out evidence of Coon's offer being true. A monster of a truck soon came rumbling out of hiding. "Finally, no more bikes!" she said with a grin as she passed through the small group to get to the truck and its extensions.
Though she had worked with various vehicles and machinery before, she had never seen the some of the customizations found on this monster. She liked that there were solar panels on the roofs because that meant electricity, and electricity meant appliances that could include a tv or a microwave. Placing a hand on the side of the truck, she turned back towards the chef. "So..umm...about the food. You said steak right?" Kyla said, trying to keep herself from sounding too excited. " And can you by any chance cook stir fried rice?" She hoped she didn't sound so demanding that he'd change his mind. After all, he had already stated his aversion to humans. |
Derrick looks after Virsat as the vampire moved away, his fur still twitching from where Virsat had been wriggling against his stomach. He was about to call out to the younger male, when it occurred to him that over the past couple of days since meeting him, they never really gave Virsat time to process everything. As he thought that, it further occurred to him that he didn't get a chance to process anything about what was happening to his own life. That which had been a vagabond existence for nearly three hundred years was suddenly full of other people and some form of purpose that he didn't expect or intend to happen last week.
Ever since he was basically a fledgling, he'd been on his own, alone, mostly running from the coven he'd destroyed in one night of what he saw as selfish fear. When he got the bike, the same bike that was now a mangled mess behind him, the world opened up before him in a way he never expected, and he turned into a rogue hunter at the same time. He'd found a purpose for his unlife, something that he never thought he'd be doing, hunting down the ones that made other people's lives miserable for the hell of it. The last time he'd hung out with a werewolf, was before he'd ended up having to slay it for the evil deeds it'd done that he walked in on. The last time he saw a vampire that he actually somewhat trusted, was in Dorjan's mansion, and that ended so horribly that he'd basically sworn off vampires with any and all other immortals. For several years, he'd done bounty hunting for the Government, until they got suspicious as to how he kept surviving conflicts without wounds. The Government at the time didn't make it a point to employ vampires. Derrick hadn't been around other types of lycanthropes at all, never knowing there were more than just wolves, despite books he'd read or stories he'd heard. He sometimes wondered if his shifting ability was a possible lycan related trait that somehow got mixed in with the vampiric traits, but he didn't know for certain. The only other shifting vampire he'd seen to date was Mai, and he knew she wasn't part of the old coven at Dorjan's mansion, unless she was made after the clan broke up. "Derrick? Hey man, you alright?" Johnny had been trying to talk to Derrick for awhile now, but the tiger-vamp was just standing there, staring off into space. It was clear to anyone that looked at him that he wasn't looking at anything, just looking. He might as well have had his eyes closed for all the good they were doing him as he stood there. Johnny had already wrapped his ribs, something he'd had to do before, though not as a wolf. He knew that when he went human, the wraps would drop free, given that his wolven chest was larger than his normal human chest. "Hey, Derrick. Come on, you're starting to grow plant life on your tail." Johnny himself was from a large family, a pack as he refers to them, albeit one that was a family that didn't interbreed. They were a pack that always branched out, and got larger. When you reached a certain age, or started a family, you were sent off into the world. The age that Johnny is now, twenty-three and somehow surviving to twenty-four in a few months, was a couple years before the normal time he would have been cast out to live his own life. He would have been like the ones before him, an alpha about to start a pack. Instead, he was currently a lone wolf looking to join a pack. It was an unknown organization that had destroyed his family. He never found them. He never had anything to go on. For the past five years, he'd been bouncing around, not settling anywhere. He was doing in five years what Derrick had done in his two-hundred-fifty years. Hunting for those that ruined other people's lives, while trying not to lose himself to the dark-side that he thought was inside. Since meeting Derrick and Virsat, he'd found people he thought might be worth staying with. It was his deepest desire that such a thought wouldn't burn him in the end. It was Doggy who broke Johnny's sudden drop into the thinking world that had claimed Derrick's mind. "Uhm, I don't think he'll suddenly grow another head if you keep looking at him, but you could try poking him in the tummy if you wanted to wake him up." Doggy was getting bottled drinks from the RV trailer, and passing them out. To Johnny he handed a bottle of generic beer, something that they kept for a night of tension that normal caffeine and cuddling wouldn't solve. It was in handing Johnny the bottle that Doggy actually got close enough to the werewolf to pick up the scent off the unusual lycanthrope. If it wasn't the words of the ancient were-critter, it was his scent that woke up Johnny's brain again. "Thank you. If you don't mind, what's it like being a white lab?" "I honestly don't know how to answer that." Doggy hands Derrick a bottle of beer as well, a look of interest on his features, curiosity if the vampire-cat could drink normal brew or if he required blood. "No matter how much you stare at the bike, it won't turn into a ball of yarn." "I know, I was just thinking about some stuff, processing what's been happening and all that. Oh, beer, thanks." He takes the bottle and opens it, dropping a quarter of the bottle's contents down his throat in one chug. "I think Virsat requires blood though." Coon leans out of the 'camper' and calls to the crowd of mixed company. "Can everyone eat normal food, or will there be some goblets of blood in place of steak, potatoes, stir fried rice and veggies?" He'd popped back in briefly to check on something on the stove, then back out to get their answers. "Is he always so happy about cooking?" Johnny was still on the ground, though he'd at least moved to a half crouched position, not so much sitting as kneeling on one knee. It looked like he was about to propose, had he not been facing the truck. "Damn if that thing ain't a beast. Where'd you find it anyway?" "I made it from several vehicles. We'd had nothing but pop-up trailers for awhile, but we ended up selling off a few and getting that monster. As such, we needed a monster to haul it." He was handing Mekia her drink as he was answering Johnny's question, trying not to stand upwind of the fire-wolf. For some reason, he was still a little freaked out by the idea of the werewolves being there, even though he was within killing reach of Johnny just a moment ago. When he'd approached Kyla, he at least had the decency to blush. "I'm sorry I licked you. Sometimes, I just get so happy to see other people, and being a dog is rather fun too." Derrick shakes his head at Doggy's apology to Kyla, his mind going back to the thoughts about how he ended up where he was, traveling with a vampire that could turn rogue and kill all the females at any moment, a werewolf he didn't know but for some reason trusted, and the females he simply grew to expect to be there. Kyla, even though she seemed to attract trouble the way that yarn attracted a kitten's attention (yes, he'd heard Doggy's comment), seemed like she needed to be watched over and taught how the immortal life worked. Mekia was an unexpected guest that seems to fit with the rest of them somehow, even though he knew nothing about her except for breed and name. And Mai... He doesn't trust her. He probably never will. "I think Virsat only drinks blood. I really don't know. He's never really eaten or drank anything except it since I met him the other day. I can handle food like anyone else, just usually choose not to... I've never liked the digestive system..." "Christopher, please stop pestering them and get the plates out." Coon was calling out of the RV again, and Doggy, living up to the pet name, was obeying, albeit with a laugh. "Did I see you flirting with the girls, Dog-head?" "No, Nickolai-love. Merely being nice. They did just try to sprout wings and fly not too long ago." Doggy was bouncing around inside the kitchen cabinets, pulling out the dinnerware and getting the utensils out in a pile. "We have more than enough room in here for everyone to come in and eat. That way the bugs don't get to the food before you can touch it. And don't worry, if you're allergic to silver. We don't keep the stuff here." "I must insist that everyone is in humanoid form while being in here though. I did just clean and I don't want to have to pick up a bunch of cat hair and wolf hair off of everything. Because, no matter how well you clean for months after, it just gets everywhere." Coon had popped his head out the doorway again, looking at the two furry critters in particular. "Everyone else, I expect your feet to be clean. I want as little dirt as company to the table as possible." Doggy, snickering in the background while setting the table, couldn't help but comment. "But Coon-love, you know you love cleaning. If I didn't know how you were about fur-balls, I'd suggest you keep the tail and ears all the time." As he was passing by his mate, he'd given him a tender hug to let him know he was joking around. "Though, I do love that tail of yours. So soft and plushie." "Yeah, but it gets everywhere, and picks up dust so easily..." Coon had popped back inside to get more drinks out, lining them up perfectly on the counter. Johnny, kneeling on the ground, grunts as he shifts back to human. Holding his ribs, he looks to Derrick for help. Knowing that wrapping ribs is hard as is, and doing it while being human is even harder, Derrick drops down beside his still mortal friend. While he wraps Johnny's ribs, he calls out to Coon and Doggy in the RV. "I'm afraid I can't shift to vampire right now. I'm rather naked under the fur, and still covered in blood." Coon nearly drops what he was holding, which was a bottle of flavored alcohol, a drink he rather enjoyed for casual nights of cuddling. His 'must clean what's dirty' obsessive compulsive side was starting to show, and Doggy didn't even get a word of warning out before Coon had sprouted his tail and ears, burst from the trailer, and advanced on Derrick. "...must clean..." It was all he'd said, his five foot long raccoon tail swinging this way and that as he stalked Derrick in plain sight. The moon as it was setting was in perfect alignment to set his eyes alight. Derrick had just finished and tied off Johnny's wraps as he was picked up as if he weighed nothing, and dragged to the swirling lake. He didn't even get a chance to protest when he was dropped below the surface. When he'd made it back to the surface, Coon snagged him and pulled out a bar of soap he kept in a hidden pouch on his belt for just such occasions. Coon was in his happy zone, scrubbing the dirt off the pretty kitty, his tail delicately brushing the water as it carried the bloody bubbles away from Derrick as he sat in the waist deep crater. Derrick looked like any other cat that was suddenly thrust into the water, sullen but resigned to his fate. In less than ten minutes, he was clean and Coon done washing him. "Just don't think you can eat me when I get out of here. I'm not a piece of fish you know." Derrick looked to shore where Johnny was sitting next to Virsat, his hand on the vampire's arm. "May I dry off now? Or shall I turn into a raisin first?" With a smile that said he was happy with the results, coon bounced out of the water with Derrick in tow. He didn't set him down in the dirt, as that would have defeated the point of washing him, but carries him into the trailer and deposits him in the tub with a towel. "You look about the size of Doggy. I'm sure he has a pair of jeans and a shirt you can wear." "Thanks, but next time, a little more warning would be nice." Derrick knew that if he didn't dry quickly and get out to Virsat, then the vampire would have the lycan's head on a platter. "A were-raccoon, huh? If you don't mind, could you share that one with me at some point?" He was busily drying out his fur with the towel, and shifting out of his cat form at the same time. With the towel around his waist, he shifted fully out. Coon vanished to get the clothes before Derrick was fully vampire, leaving Doggy to watch him shift. "I've never seen a vampire turn cat before. There was a snake-vamp awhile back, but that was years ago." |
Virsat had been fine. Sitting there. Thinking things through rather solidly. However, he was still able to pay attention to what the others were doing. Though they hadn't been doing anything really. Just a lot of talking about nothing important, food or something. As soon as Virsat had relaxed, he was tense again. On his feet and growling. Those fangs were bared and those crimson eyes glowed furiously, narrowed into a glare. That entire body was tense, but tense for battle.
A snarl was soon followed by a loud growl. If it weren't for Johnny's hand on his arm, that vampire would have already launched himself at Coon. In fact. Virsat wasn't even sure when Johnny had gotten so close to him..or..maybe Virsat had moved towards Johnny first? It didn't matter. When Coon dragged Derrick away and into that trailer, Virsat pulled away from Johnny almost violently, he sat off at a dead run for that trailer. He didn't move quite as fast as he could, but he still moved pretty darn fast. He was in that trailer in moments and seconds later he was shoving Doggy out of his way with his shoulder and standing in front of Derrick. His back to Derrick so he could watch the other two. Snarling and growling bloody murder and the promise of slow painful death at them. Virsat was not pleased. |
it was all Mai could do to keep from laughing outright during the entire washing episode, making her glad that she was fond of cat baths, though the smile was washed from her face as she watched virsat move towards the trailer with a speed only a vamp could pull off. sighing she heads for the trailer with the food, hoping to grab some food before they were forced to leave.
she couldn't help it as her stomach growled in hunger, she was hungry for some good food, something she hadn't had in years, one of the niceties she had had to do with out. as the tail end of her last thought caught up with her she paused in mid step frowning. she was confused for as far as she could remember since she had lost her memory she had never had such fine food, so why all of a sudden was she so sure that such a hing was good with out her even tasting it? remaining still she studied this newest fragment of memory. a memory of sitting at a table, full of happiness, with companions near, and a full stomach, with an even fuller conversation in progress. she had looked less haggard in the memory, if a little road worn, as if she had just started out on her journey and was enjoying it still. Shaking her head Mai went into the camper looking towards the camper that Virsat had just run into a few seconds before. "wonder if i am going to need to break up a fight tonight,.." she pondered for a second before speaking once more, "hope not, not the way i want to spend a night, thrown into the pool over there merely for getting some blood on me." |
Derrick's hissing growl could have been heard outside of the trailer, had anyone known it was a vampire that made it. He was ticked at the way Virsat was suddenly acting. "Excuse me?! What is the matter with you?! Don't you think if I was in trouble, this entire thing would be torn down?! Do I look like a worthless fledgling to you? Nickolai-Coon was doing what raccoons do best. If I was being hurt, I would not be a vampire right now. How can you dare to presume to make such a claim on me like I'm a piece of property?" He'd grabbed, albeit not at all roughly (by vampiric terms) Virsat's shoulder and turned the vampire to face him, the towel dropping to the floor of the tub. He was in the process of turning tiger again, something he did when angry. "You freak out at the slightest thing if it involves Johnny or myself, but at the same time, you freak out expecting a thorough beating from the two of us. You let nothing near us, but at the same time, you back away from us as well." He was fully furry, both front paws on Virsat's shoulders, he snarling maw inches from Virsat's face. "You're incessantly rude to the people we call friends, rude to the human Kyla and the wolf Mekia, simply because they joined the ranks without your approval. Damnit Virsat, we want you with us, but you have to accept that it won't be just the three of us. There's no such thing as a coven of three!"
He knew there was a likely chance that he'd never see Virsat again, but he was just so angry at the vampire for thinking he could stake a claim on him like a piece of meat at market. "And if I'm taking people to my mansion back east, it will be a coven of mixed parties, not just three of us in a huge fifty room mansion." He was nearly leaning on Virsat, it being hard to stand upright in full tiger form. "You want to know your place? Your place is at my side as a companion, not a bodyguard. Is that clear?" He was completely leaning on Vir at this point, all of his upper weight pressed on Virsat's shoulders. "You are not to leave your place, ever!" His 'maw' was closer to Virsat's face, but he was no longer snarling. He knew his explosion wouldn't go over well with the timid closed off vampire, but for some reason, he couldn't bring himself to back away, even though he knew that Virsat could likely bite him, something he didn't want to happen. He'd never made a fledgling to his breed, and he didn't want to start... Doggy, who was shoved aside so roughly, doesn't hold it against the vampire. He'd seen worse possessive issues before. He did stop Coon from entering so the vampire wouldn't attack the ancient being. "Love, there's a spat in the potty. You don't want to go in there right now." "Oh, and I found the cutest shirt for him to wear." He was holding up a black shirt with an etching of a kitten on the front. On his shoulder were a pair of old pants that Doggy didn't wear anymore. |
Virsat was completely caught off guard by Derrick's rage. Honestly he hadn't expected something like that, when Derrick turned him so they were facing each other, Virsat tried to take a step back. Those crimson eyes were wide with confusion and fear. He'd done something wrong and now he was going to get punished. His lips were parted in a silent small "o". His body was so tense but he didn't look away from Derrick. He did flinch softly at the tone Derrick had taken. So harsh.
Once Derrick was fully tiger the first thought that quickly raced through Virsat's mind was 'Oh god. He's going to eat me!' The fear reflected in his eyes only seemed to intensify, it took a lot of self control but Virsat managed to keep himself from pulling away from that angry tiger. His punishment might only get worse if he tried to run, though every fiber of his being was telling him to run fast, very fast and very far away. However..it was the next words that further stopped him from running. Apparently, his place was at Derrick's side and no where else. Obviously what he thought he'd worked out on his own during his earlier thinking had not been right. "......I'm sorry!" His apology wasn't quite rushed..it seemed more sincere than just words thrown up to be a shield. "...Please....I'm sorry!" The fear in his eyes were gone..just sincerity now. Though he was only sorry that he had angered Derrick so much. Now Virsat looked away and a bit down. Derrick was in tiger form but that didn't mean blows couldn't come. Virsat expected them any moment. He couldn't run away..there would be no escaping the violence that he was certain to come, because..his place was beside Derrick. A companion. Virsat shuddered lightly. He wasn't allowed to leave his place. Not ever. Derrick had said so. A very low whimper escaped him. That body tensed a bit more. |
Derrick saw the shudder, he'd learned enough of Virsat by now to know a shudder wasn't a good thing. Running through what he'd just said to the vampire he was leaning on, he says out loud. "Wait, what did you just misinterpret from what I just said?" The only things he could think that would be misleading was where Virsat's place was, what his job was, and the remarks about starting a coven of mixed parties.
While he was thinking, he was turning vampire again, taking his weight off of Virsat's shoulders. He kept his lower half as a tiger as he was still naked. In his mind, 'companion' meant friend, but he'd known for awhile that others referred to it as something else. He also knew that a literal mind might take the 'place' reference to mean always at his side, rather than always with him, never leaving the party of people. He didn't want Virsat next to him all the time, but not running away would be ideal. And why wouldn't a vampire want to start a coven? Isn't that what they do? Derrick has so many new friends, why limit the coven to just vampires? "You do know that 'companion' means friend, right Virsat? Not anything sexual, but a platonic relationship between friends? I know you're squeamish about anything else, I wouldn't do that to you." He wasn't leaning against Vir at all anymore, his hands on the walls behind him for support, as his legs were still fully tiger like. "And I don't mean literally by my side at every moment of existence either. You are not to leave the party though. You want a place, it's with me and Johnny, as a friend, who has equal say in what we do, how we do it, and your own opinions about everything and anything you could ever have an opinion about. I will not have a slave by my side, but I will have friends. Am I clear? Will you be my friend and stop thinking that you own me, or that I own you? Well, you can think you own me, but try not to get jealous just because someone else is near me. Okay?" |
Derrick was being wishy washy now. First he wanted Virsat as his companion and next to him always and now he was saying he didn't want that. Virsat frowned deeply, very deeply. Confusion flashed in his eyes for a moment, and when Derrick stopped leaning against him, he took a step back. Just watching Derrick silently and trying to figure out exactly what Derrick meant by everything he was saying..and why he was being so wishy washy. Virsat blinked. Own Derrick? That really confused him.
"I..I can't own you.......You're not a pet.." He mumbled softly and tensed. Looking away for a moment, reaching up to loop his finger in that collar around his neck before he looked back at Derrick. His gaze was strong, but not fierce. If blows did come, he would take them but the words spilled from Virsat's mouth before he could stop them. "...I thought......He was gonna eat you...like you were a fish or something.....you said it...and then he dragged you away.." |
