Johnny was apologizing again and Virsat still wasn't sure why. He just watched the wolf for a moment, then looking to Derrick when the Vampire spoke. Understanding dawning in those crimson eyes. "Oh.." He looked at Johnny, scowling just a little bit at him. "You should say what you mean, and mean what you say." That scowl had quickly turned to a small smile though. He had been on his own, not long. Maybe a month or a week more, and he had decided he didn't like being on his own. It was too different than being with Tidar. For all the man's cruelty and pain, Virsat could honestly say he actually missed that Vampire. At least with him, he knew his place. Knew what was expected of him.

He blinked. He was being asked a question. A decision was to be made and he was to make it for himself. Was there a wrong answer to the question? He quickly decided there wasn't as he glanced from Vampire to Wolf. And he really didn't like being alone. "I'll stay..."

Virsat fidgeted as he suddenly remembered something important. Crimson gaze darting to the barn door. "There's a human out there...Is it gonna come after us?"

Johnny shakes his head again. "I told you, there's nothing to worry about from the human. She's been knocked unconscious. And even when she wakes up, you have a tiger and a wolf to keep you safe. How can a single, mortal, human compete? Silver doesn't work on me. What about you, Derrick? Allergic to silver?"

Derrick shakes his head. "No, my sire demanded his fledglings wear silver with his insignia on them. If I'm supposed to be allergic to it, I've built up a tolerance." Derrick motions for Virsat to follow him to the bike, where he starts preparing the Ninja for a passenger. "Besides, we aren't staying here. There's nothing in this area, and I have a house that was passed down from my sire when the clan split. As far as I know, no one else knows about it. But then, I haven't been there in a little over twenty years either."

"Oh, you have a house then. I know how you vampires are. It's not a house, it's a mansion, isn't it?" Count on a wolf to sniff out the truth. "Come on, might as well tell us it's name. I'm sure it has one."

Derrick nods as Johnny prepares his own bike for travel. "Yes, it's Lord Dorjan's Mansion. He was the clan leader." He turns to Virsat. "Do you know how to ride a motorcycle?"

He shuddered at the mention of silver. Silver hurt, it burned worse than fire and made his entire body nearly numb. He shrank back from them both as they spoke about silver.

Virsat's eyes widened slightly as they moved towards the bikes...of course they would go for the loud, smelly vehicles. He frowned and when Derrick motioned towards him he shook his head, his hands already going to his ears. "No...it's too loud...especially that one.." He gave a meaningful glance to Johnny's bike. "And they smell horrible."

He did not want to ride the motorcycle, besides, those things didn't even look safe. Virsat frowned and wondered why they couldn't just walk.

Derrick didn't want to deal with timid when it came to his bike. His bike was all he had at the moment, and he wouldn't leave it for the promise of all the adorable vampires in the world. "Virsat, come here. I will explain how you hold on to me while you're riding." He pointed to the spot near the back seat of the bike. "You won't hear it hardly at all when we get going. The wind in your ears will keep the noise of the bike from bothering you."

Johnny looked offended by the idea that his bike was too loud. It was a fake expression, but if he was going to stick around the tiger and his new pet, then Virsat would have to get used to his humor. "I'm hurt. My bike isn't too loud. Fast, yes, but not too loud." He pets the bike as though it were a dog whose feelings had been hurt. "Shh, baby, he didn't mean it."

Derrick shakes his head, unable to help the grin that formed. The wolf was a good match to his own twisted personality. "Don't listen to him, Virsat. He's just messing with you." He sits on the bike, one leg on either side. "You'll sit behind me and wrap your arms around my sides, holding on to me from behind. When I turn, the bike will tilt. Don't be afraid of that, it's actually safer than just turning the wheel. Don't fight the tilt and we won't crash, ok?" He motions behind him. "Come on, sit behind me."

The wolf pulls his bike back, out of the door and into the field to turn it around. In the space left from where his bike was, Derrick is able to turn his own bike around in the barn. "Virsat, we can't walk the bikes to the mansion. It's a couple thousand miles away. We'd not get there in twenty years just walking. And you never know what trouble you'll find while walking down the highways."

Johnny kneels beside the human woman and shakes her shoulder to rouse her. "Hey! Wake up! We're leaving, human. You can have your precious farm and glorious house."

Eyes slowly opened revealing green before closing once more. No matter how hard the man shook her, Kyla just wouldn't wake up. She was effectively out cold and dreaming no less. She only incoherently muttered something around the lines of "My shift doesn't start until three..."

It was a long while before Kyla woke up. Only one thing wet through her mind once she had enough consciousness to think. 'Am I dead yet?' she pondered. The throbbing pain on her right cheek told her she wasn't. 'Guess they made me a vamp then. This sucks.' This was what she thought when she opened her eyes. The bright light did bother them a little but she soon realized it wasn't anything out of the ordinary. In fact, her eyes quickly became accustomed to the afternoon sunlight. "Odd..." she muttered, quickly sitting up and looking at her surroundings. First the light blue sky, then the fields around her, then finally, the dead carcasses and the car with the headlights on. She stood up and walked over to each body. Well, they couldn't be called bodies anymore. They were just bones mostly. She recognized the one whose skull was for the most part missing. She did that. But the other two were definitely alive when she conked out. It was a mystery to her who might have saved her. Even more so who'd have wanted to eat them. Still, the construction worker was grateful. She also got a brand new car. "No more hoofing it for me." she said, walking over to turn off the engine. At least it was still working but she would have to recharge the batteries when she got to the city. Gas wasn't as widely used as it had once been since electric vehicles that actually work have come into play.

Closing the door and pocketing the keys, Kyla walked over to the last barn with a smile. A hand rubbed over the side of her face as it still stung. The inside of the building was empty but one could easily tell that people have been in there. The hay was all over the place, no doubt due to the many vagabonds that could have taken shelter here. Kyla couldn't help but wonder if that long haired jerk stayed here. Well, this free hotel wasn't going to last for long. The woman quickly set to work once again, taking her pda out and ticking off things she needed to check. The ground was firm, the walls were a little shoddy but stronger than her farmhouse, the roof only had one hole but it had to be replaced, the hay was moldy in some areas and it had to go. Overall, the structure was sound enough to just be repaired. But that would be up to the new land owners and the construction company. Her work was done half an hour later and with one great stretch she walked on out, eager to get home.

She picked up her shotgun and cowboy hat that still lay where she had fallen before sliding into the leather seats of the car. It had a nice scent to it but she'd have to clean it out. Changing the plate number and id would be a good idea as well. She liked the quiet purr of the engine when it came on. Barely a whisper as expected of the latest model. Kyla made sure to run over the bones of the undead before riding out onto the old dusty road. She would reach the city by nightfall.

Virsat frowned deeply, scowling at both bikes. Shaking his head furiously. "No...It's too loud and they smell worse than...worse than garbage dumps." It was the only thing he could think of to compare the smell too. He didn't like the bikes at all, besides all that, they didn't even look sturdy enough to be safe. His eyes narrowed at Johnny. "It isn't alive..it doesn't have feelings and I did mean it!" Those words were out before he could stop them, causing him to flinch slightly.

Virsat looked down and scuffed the toe of his boot against the barn floor. "I'm sorry..I just...they hurt my ears." A light sigh passing those lips when the wolf moved passed him with the bike. Slowly he nodded. "....fine...." He was still hesitant, reluctant but approached Derrick and his bike. That nose wrinkling in disdain, distaste and disgust.

Derrick looks at Virsat, anger flowing through his eyes, but directed at all the 'masters' that broke their fledgelings and turned them into such shattered slaves. "The bike wont hurt you, I won't let it. Trust me, okay?" He pulls out a new package of earplugs, something he hasn't needed to use in awhile. "These will keep the majority of the sound from hurting your ears. You roll them up, stick them in, and they'll expand to fit the inside of your ears, blocking out most of the sound." He leans forward on the bike to demonstrate how one rides a crotch rocket. "When riding, we lean forward like this, all right? Just keep your arms locked around me, and you'll do just fine."

Outside, Johnny fires up his bike, the thrum of the engine loud enough to let you know it was running, but not ear pounding loud. No doubt Virsat would think it was too loud. "Come on, before the sun rises again!"

Derrick pushes the bike out of the barn, moving slowly so Virsat could easily put the plugs in without falling off the bike. "What about the woman? Didn't you wake it up?" He moves the bike around the prone form near the car. "Leave the car running, who knows, maybe it'll still have a charge later." He grins toothily, not really caring if the car still worked when the woman awoke or not. "And no, Virsat, I'm not ditching my bike for some rogue vampire's crappy electric car. I love this bike."

Another sigh and Virsat only nodded. Frowning a bit and chewing that bottom lip. Crimson eyes narrowed slightly at the bike but still, he remained silent. He did as Derrick instructed him, putting the earplugs in and sitting on the bike. He did wriggle abit, uncomfortable and not liking the earplugs at all but he didn't wriggle much for fear of falling off the bike. His nose still scrunched up when Johnny's bike was started and he shook his head a bit.

A shudder ran down his spine but he remained silent. Really he just didn't have anything to say. And second of all, he didn't want to say anything that might make them mad at him. He glanced at the car and had to resist the urge to leap from the bike for it. He could drive. He knew how. Tidar had him drive him around like a chauffeur. He stared at the car longingly for a few moments.

"It seriously wasn't my fault! Some mosquitoes came by and wouldn't stop bugging me." The teapot was already screaming and Kyla had to turn off the stove. "Yeah, I sent it when I was still at the charging station. They're all ready to go. Some of them are still pretty good though." She shook the burn off her hand as she went to get an oven mitt. She had forgotten that the handle was quite hot. "Alright. Bye." Not wanting to let the water cool down, the working woman quickly poured it into her cup and dumped the cocoa powder into it. Just a few teaspoonfuls and some sugar before she needed to stir it. 'What a hectic day.' she thought with a sigh. The bright lights outside indicated that the night businesses were opening. They were mostly run by vampires and were often more lucrative and successful than short lived human companies. Kyla had made quick work of the car she acquired, sending it to a friend of a friend to have it cleaned for her. It now sported a new plate number and the electronic id was wiped clean. All she had to do was give it a new paint job and everything would be just perfect. The blood red was a little too much. She preferred yellow instead, like the ancient Cameros of a millenia ago. After enjoying her drink, Kyla took a good long bath before hitting the hay. She had to get as much rest as she could since she had work to do again later that night and wasted so much time being unconscious at the fields. "I don't see why they can't just hire a few more guys. The boss is so stingy sometimes."she muttered before drifting off into a deep sleep.

The moment that Virsat was seated and had the plugs in, Derrick fired up his own bike, revving the engine high to get it warmed up quickly. In response to his bike revving, Johnny revs his own engine loudly. When both engines were idling normally again, Derrick calls out to Johnny. "We're heading south east, wolf. We'll be going slow at first until Virsat is used to the way the bike moves." He points in the general direction they were to be heading. "There's a city that's mostly run by vampires that we have to cross through. I want to stop and get supplies while we're there, maybe stay the day in a hotel or something."

Johnny nods understanding, and motions for Derrick to lead the way. He would follow like asked.

"Hold on like I showed you, Virsat. We're moving now. Put your feet up on the pegs." Derrick sets his right foot on the front peg, using his left foot for balance as he pulls back on the gas lightly. Once the bike started moving, he lifts his left leg and positions his foot for when he's ready to shift up.

The bikes pulled out onto the road a few minutes later, turning south toward the city that the unconscious woman had told Johnny about the morning before. They drove at a decent clip, though not much faster than forty or so mph, just in case Virsat freaked out about seeing the road moving so close beneath the bike.

His face scruched up in general annoyance and discomfort as they revved their engines. He wriggled just a small bit, frowning ever so deeply and wondering what he had managed to get himself into now. Virsat remained silent, really he didn't have anything to say. His feet on the pegs, and his arms went around Derrick. Tightly. Tight enough so any human's ribs could very well possibly be cracked. Virsat was strong, stronger than his lithe frame and timid nature would let on..but even so..

His grip was tight and he pressed the side of his face against Derrick's back and closed his eyes tightly. Then he whispered. "Go faster..so's we get there sooner and I can get off." His body was tense, but he seemed to be able to balance well, it only took a few moments for his body to get used to motion beneath him. He still didn't like the noise or the scents from the bike.

Derrick grins, his teeth showing as his lips pull back in the slightly evil smile. He hated driving slowly, and with the permission of the petrified passenger, he can speed up. He leans down closer to the bike, pulling Virsat with him, tighter against the machine and cutting less wind. Gearing down, he revs the throttle, pops the clutch, and pulls the nose up in a brief wheelie. "Hold on tight, Virsat. We'll be at the city in less than hour. Keep your eyes closed if it scares you."

The nose of the bike drops and he gears up, quickly gearing up again when the RPMs rocketed up on the tachometer inches before his face. By the time he was in the highest gear, he was tearing down the mostly deserted highway at speeds closer to 180mph than anything else that could be thought of as safe. They're vampires, they'll be fine.

Behind Derrick, Johnny laughs from the sheer thrill of being able to drop the hammer and fly. He does much of what Derrick did, cutting a wheelie as he sped up, but his wasn't a forced one. The Ducati had a more powerful engine than the Ninja, and it did so love going fast. He was right along side Derrick in a mere moment as the two bikes wove back and forth to avoid potholes, cars and random animals on the highway. "Hold on TIGHT, Virsat!" He knew he didn't have to yell, but he was excited and the adrenaline was coursing through his veins at such a rate that he couldn't have been calm if his life depended on it.

Virsat had cringed just slightly. Great Gods Above, whey did he tell them to go faster? Oh..wait..it was cause he was in a hurry to get off this...thing...His grip around Derrick tightened, nearly enough to bruise the Vampire's ribs but not quite enough just yet. He kept his eyes closed, whimpering only slightly in acknowledgement of Johnny's words. Even if he had only barely heard them over the ringing and pounding noise in his own ears. The plugs must be defective, he decided or his ears more sensitive than he had initially thought.

After a few moments or more, his body relaxed slightly. His grip however, remained tight. He had no intentions of falling off, at least not on purpose, and if he did fall he sure as hell was taking Derrick with him. They'd be lucky if they could get his arms off the other Vampire when they finally did stop. He hoped they would stop soon.

Johnny swerves a skunk just in time to keep from hitting it. "Every damn thing insists on jumping out when you're in a hurry..." He drops his speed just slightly, falling in behind Derrick again. He stays just to the side so as not to get in the way should the vampire need to cut his speed quickly for some reason.

Derrick heard Johnny's remark and chuckled briefly. "How are you doing Virsat? Still alright back there?" He does speak somewhat loudly, but it's to compensate for the scared vampire having the plugs in and the wind rushing by their huddled forms. "You know, you don't have to hold on so tightly."

The wolf swerves around an oncoming car that he would have hit had he remained where he was. "Like I said..." He speeds up again, getting up beside Derrick. "How far!"

"Not very!" The tiger-vamp looks further ahead, nodding to indicate the glow in the distant sky. "Just there!" They had maybe another hour or so of drive time before they'd reach the city limits.

Virsat thought that comment was rather dumb, telling him he didn't have to hold on so tightly. "B-but..I want to.." He sniffled a bit. Were they trying to get him to fall off? He kept his eyes closed though and really at this point he wasn't sure if he would mind falling off or not. At least, he'd be off the bike. However, at that thought, his grip tightened around Derrick yet again. It took alot of self control to keep himself from fidgeting. He really really wished they were there yet.

Virsat chanced to open his eyes.

He blinked. Everything went by so quickly. So very quickly. He blinked again, but he couldn't stop watching. It was..fascinating and disconcerting at the same time. Okay..so he liked the way things looked as they ...Zoomed..past. He still didn't like moving so fast or being on something that still didn't seem very sturdy beneath him. He frowned slightly. "Are we there yet?"

Derrick moves his left hand off the bar and pats Virsat's tightly gripped arms reassuringly. It was a good thing he didn't need to breathe. "I won't let you fall, Virsat. Trust me, alright?" He grips the bar again, forcing more speed from the already flying bike. He'd get them there as soon as possible, if only to be able to pry his tortured ribs out of his passenger's death grip.

The wolf follows without a word, easing more speed from his bike as well. Even a Ducati had it's limits, and the bike was eating through the tank of gas so fast that he'd be able to make it to the city, and maybe a little further, before it'd run dry. The adrenaline was still in his system, but he wasn't riding so high on it now that he didn't notice that they were risking a lot just to get there quickly.

It wasn't quite a death grip, more of a near-death death grip or something along those lines. Virsat was pouting slightly, mostly because they hadn't arrived at where ever they were arriving to yet. "I do trust you. I don't have a reason not to.." He squeezed his eyes shut tightly again as the speed increased. Okay. He did NOT want to watch the scenery anymore. Besides, that would only make him think about falling or something. Then..there it was. That tingling feeling throughout his entire body, his veins burning lightly. The feeling of the hunger, just starting..coursed through his body, he gasped lightly. What was he to do? His entire body had tensed greatly.

"D-Derrick...I-I'm hungry."

Derrick nearly sits up when he hears Virsat's revelation of hunger. "You're...what?" His voice was low, with a hint of a growl to the tone. He wasn't angry, just a little upset that the timid vampire hadn't fed sooner. "When was the last time you ate?" He eases back on the throttle, slowing the bike down to eighty mph. At that speed, he's able to ease out of the crouch and glance back at his passenger.

Johnny slowed as Derrick had, but it took him a second longer, since he'd still been forcing more speed from his bike. "Hey, what's up? You run out of gas?" He was cruising beside the Ninja, sitting up much like Derrick was beside him.

"No, Virsat said he's hungry. He sounds shaky, I don't think he's fed in awhile." Derrick continues to slow his bike, easing it off the road when they were going slow enough not to be flung into the dirt of the shoulder. Once he'd stopped, he turns off the bike and looks back to Virsat. "When'd you feed last, Virsat." It wasn't a question, it was a statement.

The wolf pulled up in front of Derrick's stopped bike and turned his own engine off. "A vampire should know better..." He muttered this as he looked over the still lit panel, mostly looking at the gas gauge, but he imagined the vampires heard him anyway.

Virsat had flinched lightly at Derrick's tone. He was silent when Derrick asked that important question..Mostly afraid of how the other might react to the answer..However when that bike stopped and Derrick asked again..or rather..didn't really ask, but lightly demanded. Well..to Virsat it seemed to be a demand. He fidgeted, letting his arms slip way from Derrick's body. "A day or so." His eyes were open once again..and the crimson orbs were glowing faintly, and almost seemed a bit more crimson if at all possible.

But he looked away from both of them. Tidar always kept him fed..and even though Tidar had been dead a month, he had somehow managed to catch and drain small furry animals. There..just..hadn't been anything in that barn or near it and he hadn't wanted to move from it and then these two had shown up. He wriggled a bit and frowned deeply. "I-I'm sorry." The apology was rushed..as if he were tossing it up to fend off a blow that might come quickly, either verbal or physical. Still he stared down at the ground.

Derrick didn't hit Virsat, but he knew that's what the smaller vampire was waiting for. Instead he raises Virsat's head by force, all be it minor force. "Look at me. You are to stop dropping your head like that. You aren't a slave now, and if ordering you to stop acting like one is the only way to break you of what initially broke you, then so be it. Stop expecting to be hit." He starts to shift into his tiger form as he gets off the bike. Once he's fully tiger, he looks to Virsat, but speaks to the wolf. "Hey wolf. Watch my bike, would you? I have to take Virsat hunting."

Johnny nods, having known it would get to that point. Fortunately there were trees on one side of the highway. Unfortunately they had to cross the lanes of mostly empty traffic before reaching the trees. "I'll be here, get him fed. I don't want to deal with a blood lusting vampire if I can help it."

Derrick looks to the woods, the tiger instincts wanted to be in there hunting, and his vampiric instincts wanted the same thing. "Come along, Virsat. I'll get you something big enough to sate your thirst for awhile. You'll have to start feeding when I do though. Am I understood? I don't eat humans, so you'll have to deal with animals of one kind or the other."

Virsat had fidgeted a bit when Derrick raised his head. Those eyes glowing a bit, and for a moment as Derrick spoke confusion clouded them. He was broken? He blinked. "I'm broken?" What did the Vampire mean? He reached up and ran a hand down his own chest and over his ribs. Nothing ached..except his insides, but that was from hunger, his bones didn't feel broken or shattered. He blinked. Staring at Derrick for a moment. "..I don't..feel broken." Then that Vampire was going into tiger mode and Virsat smiled at him.

Off the bike, he stretched and reached out to pet Derrick's furry tiger head before they started towards the woods. Once again, Derrick manage to say something to confuse him. Humans? Why would they eat humans anyway? "I thought we all ate animals." He frowned. True, Tidar occasionally came home smelling of human blood but he said that was cause he killed them before they could come hurt Virsat. His nose wrinkled a bit. "Humans are eat-able?" He blinked. Even on that rare occasion where he had gone into a bloodlust there had been no humans around to rip apart..though..all he remembered of that was waking up in pain. His nose scrunched up at the memory and he rubbed the back of his neck a bit. That memory bringing to light another thought.

Silver..he didn't like silver at all.

"Derrick...what's a slave?"

Derrick leads the way into the woods, thinking of how to best describe what he'd meant when he said Virsat was broken. He came to a full halt and stared at the sheltered vampire when he asked what a slave was. "You must be joking." Sitting down didn't seem like the most prudent thing to do at the moment, but he couldn't help it. The master over this boy had taught him nothing. It was amazing he could even walk on his own. "A slave is someone who is beaten into obeying a person. Often times they will want to be free of their master, but they are held by fear of change. Sometimes, only the death of their master will free them."

He looks deeper into the woods, trying to pick up a scent of large prey, but they were still too close to the highway. "Slaves are generally forced to do jobs around their living environment, forced to play the part of a mate to their masters, even if they have no feelings or interest toward them like that. Often times, a slave is beaten so much that their spirit breaks. Once the spirit is broken, it's hard for it to heal, but it can heal." He looks up to Virsat's eyes, seeing the hunger and confusion within them. "That's what I meant when I said you were broken. I didn't mean your body was broken, I meant your soul was. You've been broken to thinking that everything you do is wrong. Like earlier in the barn."

He stands up again, taking a step forward. "And no, humans must not be eaten. They are to be kept safe, not to be used for food. Come along, lets get you a deer to drain. I'm hungry too."

Virsat frowned deeply at Derrick's explanation. It all sounded like what he had been through..more or less..but..he wasn't a slave. He shook his head furiously. "I never wanted to leave Tidar...He took care of me...He's the only one that would take care of me...but..he's dead now and I couldn't stay in his house because the humans had come to burn it down and.." Virsat stopped in the middle of his sentance and looked at Derrick.

Hadn't the tigery vampire just said that humans were to be kept safe? Virsat's entire body just stopped. Everything stopped he felt like he was falling though he was standing still. "S-safe? H-humans?" He frowned very deeply. "They...they have silver.." Those eyes had widened a bit. "Tidar said, they'd try to cut my head off...he said they would kill me..he said it's because of my eyes and they hate Vampires...he said they were exterminators of Vampire kind." His entire body was tense.

Derrick halted his forward movement, turning to look back at Virsat. The poor thing had been so mislead, he wasn't sure he could get him back on the course that most vampires followed naturally. "Vampires have silver too, Virsat. A lot of hunters use it against rogues." Derrick smartly doesn't mention that the seat Virsat had been sitting on was housing a sword with a silver edge and gold etching along the blade. Some vampires were allergic to gold or white gold, or some other variation on the metals. "Humans are what keeps this world going. They must be protected by the immortals. However, when someone threatens you, that person is no longer under the protection that others get."

He moves off a few steps before looking back with just one eye. "Red eyes are more easily blamed on albinos, Virsat. Nothing alive or dead has two different colored eyes like mine." Derrick looks away again, but doesn't yet move. "Your master lied to you, Virsat. He lied about a lot of things, I'd imagine. The world is not so black and white."

He had nodded, rubbing the back of his neck a bit..or rather. Rubbing over the collar around his neck. "Tidar had silver.." He cringed slightly and looked at Derrick, those slightly glowing eyes a bit wide. "D-do you have silver?" He was frowning though, mostly at Derrick's words. Humans were to be protected, but if they attacked him it was okay to not protect them. That really didn't make sense. Either they were to be protected or they weren't.

His eyes went incredibly wide. "Tidar...wasn't a liar. Lying is bad, he taught me so. He taught me many things and he wouldn't lie. He wouldn't lie because lying is bad and..and.." His bottom lip quivered and he bit down on it hard.
