Layla looked around the garden and sighed. She got up off the bench an walked over to the tree and sat in hollow that was the perfect size for her to get in. She looked at the big tree's inside and sat there thinking. She really hoped that Navessa would someday come back. She wondered if she got lost, but then remembered that Navessa could've used magic to get back. She always thought about where in the world she could be. Maybe someday she really would come back and bring a surprise with her, the greatest ever. These thoughts saddened her, so she stopped thinking about it altogether. Singing helped her cheer up sometimes, so she began to sing what poured out of heart.

Kiki was bored. She didn't like being bored. Her violin case sat on the other side of the room she occupied by herself. She didn't really want to get up, she was also feeling lazy. The other dolls had forgotten about her as they milled about, doing whatever they were doing. The only time Kiki had allowed her eyes to look out the window was when her mistress' voice echoed through the house, but even then...even then it was merely an illusion. She raised a hand limply and her eyes followed the twist of the black ribbon tied around her wrist. A few seconds later she let her hand fall down again. She uncurled her legs and stood up to her full height. She was the tallest of the dolls, but by no means was she the oldest. She moved languidly over to her violin, unzipping the case and taking it out lovingly. She cherished each and every one of her possessions. After tuning the instrument she placed it under her chin and placed the bow on the strings. She pushed her arm out and produced a single clear note, then her fingers started to dance across the strings, her bow hand following right after, drawing forth a light airy melody.

Meena waved at Layla's back as she left, kicking her feet and thinking about nothing in particular. As she sat, she suddenly heard music, from what sounded like a violin. Kiki...? Slowly a smile spread across her face. Kiki's melodies were beautiful, not that she had anything to compare to, and she loved them. Mixed in with the violin was the sound of someone else singing, and Meena couldn't help getting to her feet and twirling in tiny circles, kicking up leaves and giggling. She moved closer to the singing voice as she danced, searching for whoever it was.

Juliet looked up from her seat on the couch when she hear the music 'thats lovely' she listened to it a little longer beore looking back out the window and tuned the music into the leaves that blew about almost as if they were dancing she smiled a small almost timid smile as if she smiled it would stop.

Lady Chello 02-04-2010 03:03 AM

Kuri looked from the attic as she heard music. She walked down the stairs to where the music came from. She stud there smiling as she lessened to it. It reminded her of the times their master would play music for them and they would dance about to it.

Aoi Kazuya 02-04-2010 03:04 AM

Kiki paused in her playing when she ran out of a melody to follow. Her mood fell almost instantly. Like her music her mood had soared, higher and higher, and now that it was over... A small sigh escaped her lips as she lifted the instrument again, maybe one more song? She moved her fingers and soon drew forth, this time, a melancholy tune. One of forgotten promises and lost memories. One from her past. Her eyes slowly slid shut as she played and she stood in the middle of the vacant room, the notes swelling and filling the room, overflowing and spilling out into the hallways and invading the other rooms, finding cracks in windows and doors to slip into the outside world. A song from the heart, that's what it was.

Twisted Insanity 02-05-2010 12:10 AM

Layla looked up and when she heard the music. She figured that it must be Kiki, and loved hearing the beautiful music. She crawled out from inside the tree and went back inside the house. She walked around in the kitchen thinking aimlessly, then sat down in a chair. She sighed and thought about all the things that'd changed since Navessa left them. It seemed like no one was the same, not even herself.

Al didn’t want to go back and he felt like a major coward. Despite that, he was more than positive that the stone had shifted. That was out of the ordinary. Solid things like stones didn’t just move themselves and go off like that. There wasn’t any chance that someone on the other side could’ve been pulling them away or else Al would’ve have seen them. He paused, that wall…was the wall that guarded part of the old witch’s property. A lot of stories and rumors ran around about that place. Neighbors were scared stiff about the creepy old hag and warned all their kids to steer clear of it. Of course, no one ever listened.

His thought grew dull and the sun was still streaming brightly through the pale curtains. What was he afraid of? It was broad daylight and monsters probably hated the sun. Besides, the team needed the ball and he didn’t want them disappointed in him.

Al got up and went downstairs. His mom had made some chocolate chip cookies and he grabbed a few, then rearranges the plate to conceal the fact that they were missing. Wrapping them in a paper napkin for later, Al set off back to the hedge. He walked by the concrete road and waved at the cars that flew by. Finally arriving at the empty baseball field, Al ducked into the trees and searched for the wall. There it was; old, grey, and covered in moss and vines. Al’s head jerked back a bit. The gap was still there, Al knew he didn’t imagine it but seeing it was still disturbing to him. A sound of a girl singing seemed to float by his ears. He backed away slowly, treading the ground carefully as not to trip. Maybe, he thought, I should go and get Tom to come with me. Al didn’t want to be there at the moment and the chirping sounds that the crickets made added to the knowledge that he was the only human there. He turned and passed the last tree and into the road. The wall had also reached a few feet away from it but only the base stones remained at that section, the rest had tumbled down or was moved.

Besides the grass, weeds and concrete, something else stood out in the road. It was a large doll. Quickly, his mind flashed to the report, to the part about her creating living toys. Here it was; proof that the old lady was a witch. He felt a huge sense of curiosity surge within him. The doll laid on the road; as if the witch, who had obviously taken good care of it, had suddenly decided that it could be left as road kill for all that she cared.

Crouching, Al approached the doll. He was glad that not many people drove by this road. Reaching the human like figure, he slowly took a look at its face. Al turned red. Why was he so scared of an unmoving toy? Pulling himself to a more dignifying, kneeling position, Al picked the doll up with both hands to examine it. The sound of a noisy car’s engine came and Al got up to run back to the trees. If anyone saw him holding this huge doll, talk would spread that would amuse Henry and other teasers. After what seemed a short yet stretching ten minutes, the car passed by. Al recognized the old driver as Terry’s gram. No wonder the car looked ancient.

Remembering himself, he pulled the doll out. Its face was pushed into the ground during his rush to conceal himself. The delicate face was dirty as well as the front of its dress. Worried, Al brushed the filth off the best as he could, Al took another look at the doll. It was rather pretty, with thick eyelashes and all. It’s garments were black and red, the hair was white. Flipping it to its back, Al checked for a tag that could have its owner’s name. Nope, nothing. He switched her legs into a sitting position and checked the bottom of her shoes. Still no name; it was to be expected as no one with wits would write their name onto a doll like this but Al had still hoped.

“I wonder what whiskey the bloke who made the story up was drinking,” he muttered. This venture was a bit childish and he had shafted his original goal since coming here. "What should I do with you…?” Al let the question hang there and looked at the haunted looking house and a bit of dread came upon him. How would the witch react when she found out her doll was dirtied? Al’s allowance wasn’t that bad but he had been saving for a telescope and a doll like this would be sure to cost him more than a pretty penny. Rising slowly, Al held the doll out into the sun light and gently brushed off the dirt to the best of his ability. He had made up his mind to go find the witch and to return her doll.

((I read back and found out that Alfred was 29^^;;; sorry I messed up…can we make him a kid?))

Ember Mist 02-05-2010 01:33 AM

Vyan stared wonderingly at the boy who brushed the dirt off her. She was thrilled that she had made it out of the house, she wondered if anyone knew she was missing yet. She wished she could say something to the boy, but even though she opened her mouth still nothing came out.

Twisted Insanity 02-05-2010 02:16 AM

Layla went to the front of the house and suddenly stopped. Something didn't feel right to her, there was something off. She thought about how she thought she heard Navessa's voice and went up to her room. She knew she wouldn't be there but she wanted to go anyway. Layla walked up the stairs and then looked out the window into the back yard. Nothing seemed out of place to her, everything was normal, or so it seemed. Then she walked over to a room across and looked out the window overlooking the front yard. Her eyes widened when she saw Vyan laying on the ground outside, where she definitely shouldn't be. Then she saw a boy picking her up. Layla started to panic, but tried to think of what to do. She surely just couldn't walk out there to save Vyan, there had to be some other way... Then she thought of Kuri, she would know what to do, she knew magic. She quickly walked up the stairs, but carefully, just below the attic, where she knew Kuri would be. ''Kuri! Kuri!'' she said trying not to sound to panicky,'' Vyan is outside in the front, there's a boy holding her. I don't think he's like us, either. We have to help her.''

Lady Chello 02-05-2010 09:44 PM

Kuri grew board as she peered out the window. She steeped back as one of the crows slammed into the window. "STUPID BIRD!" She had never liked the birds though her master had loved them. Even before she had been this she..her mind stopped as she remembered slightly what she had been before this. Though she couldn't recall much this was better than being alive for that she was certain. She looked back out the window as she felt a change in the air. It felt almost magical. Kuri followed the felling outside keeping her eyes on the stupid birds she hated so much as she followed it to the stone wall. She looked at the opening that was there. It hadn't been there before. She held out her hand as the red aura appeared and waved her hand across the oping. She stepped back and cursed as nothing happened. " This must have been her idea of a joke. Only magic would not let mine work." Kuri shifted her eyes as they glowed a slight red from her anger of failing to close the opening. She looked at the crow that was coming right for her. She held out her hand as a red light appeared around it. When the light faded a pile of ash fell to the ground. "Ashes to Ashes dust to dust. Stupid bird should mess with someone esle for a change."

Twisted Insanity 02-05-2010 10:07 PM

Layla impatiently waited for Kuri to respond. ''Kuri! We have to help Vyan, she's in danger!'' She shouted. What if the boy took her away from them forever, like Navessa? This was one of the many times that Layla wished she knew how to do magic, so she wouldn't have to rely on everyone else as much. She was sure that Kuri would help, and the little boy wouldn't bee too much of a threat, but you could never be sure. She wondered why the boy came to Navessa's house in the first place, hardly ever did anyone come around here. Layla always wondered why, but never really asked. She was still waiting for Kuri to come down. ''Kuri!" She said once more.

fally_13 02-05-2010 10:10 PM

Juliet sighed more because she was bored over sad or angery just to have something to do her adventerouse side seemed to be dying a little bit each day and it wasnt going well with her.

Lady Chello 02-05-2010 10:14 PM

Kuri looked to where she heard her name she saw Layla and walked to her. "Yes Layla what are you talking about? I am trying figure out where the opening came from in the wall and who's magic did it!" Her eyes flashed red as she heard Vyan's name. "She is where and what about a he?" Kuri turned as she moved to the road. "Come Layla explain to me what happen as we go. We will lose time if we wait here. Besides those stupid birds will just harass me.I hate those things why do they stay outside of the house anyhow."

Twisted Insanity 02-05-2010 10:26 PM

Layla obediently followed Kuri. She repeated it again,'' Vyan is outside in the front yard and the 'he' was holding her. What if he takes her away from us?'' Hole in the wall? What was Kuri talking about, she didn't see one. Layla would check again after they got Vyan, sometimes she didn't notice things right away. ''What hole? I didn't see one. Yes, those birds are horrible.'' Layla asked and replied to Kuri. She hoped that Vyan was still there unharmed.

Lady Chello 02-05-2010 10:59 PM

Kuri stopped as she turned and looked back at the house. "Do you think Juliet would like to join us? It would be better to have another if we are going after this boy." She looked to the house as she held out her hand and thought a message for Juliet. A red light appeared around Juliet as a voice echoed in her head. "Would you like to leave the house and go on a adventurer. If so meet me out side Kuri." Kuri looked back to layla and pointed back to the wall. "There is one there. If you like you may go cheek why we wait to see if Juliet will come with us."

Twisted Insanity 02-05-2010 11:07 PM

"Hmm. Wow. I wonder how it got there. I think I will go check.'' Layla said as she walked to the door and opened it. She walked into the backyard and looked around. Sure enough there was a hole. How did that happen? She thought to herself. That wasn't there before. Layla went up to it cautiously to inspect it. She wondered what was on the other side of the wall and put her hand on it. She bent down a little to look through it and all she saw were plants. She would've frowned, but it was kind of hard to. She remembered hearing Navessa's voice and thought that maybe that's what caused it. She quickly walked back into the house and went back to Kuri. '' You were right, it's there. I looked through it, but couldn't see anything but plants.'' Layla said in a matter-of-fact tone. She patiently waited to see if Juliet would join them.

Meena pressed her back against the rock wall, eyes wide. That had been a person! A person like Navessa, not like them. Hearing voices, she pushed herself backwards into the bush by the wall, trying to hide. She saw Layla walk by, and peek into the strange hole, then leave, looking puzzled.

Swallowing, she pulled herself out of the bushes, and crept up to the hole and through. She took a few steps forward, overwhelmed, then slumped down. This was outside! Really, truly, outside!

She smiled. She was outside!

Aoi Kazuya 02-06-2010 09:12 PM

Kiki put her violin away quickly when she noticed the other dolls making there way to an opening in the wall that wasn't there before. Then she blinked in slight surprise as a boy appeared, picking Vyan up, and then Meena creeped out. That child was always doing things like that.,.. She looked around the room she occupied and then left for the first time in...she had lost count. She quickly went down the stairs and out the back door, following after Meena, she didn't want the smaller doll to be hurt after all, even though it would be fun to see Meena get a taste of her own medicine...

Twisted Insanity 02-06-2010 11:40 PM

Layla saw Kiki go outside and wondered if maybe she saw the hole too. Where's Meena? Usually she would be the first one to investigate things. She wouldn't be surprised if Meena tried to go where the hole led to. Typical Meena. Layla still waited to see if Juliet would go with them. Poor Vyan, she must be scared.

Al had found the front of the house. It had a run down look as though it hadn't been cared for in a long time. Paint peeling, boards hanging on their side and weeds growing all across the lawn. He walked down the cracked sidewalk and stepped onto a rickety porch. This was it. Reaching for the faded bronze knocker, Al tapped the old wooden door three times. Shifting a bit and taking a step back for the door to swing open, Al waited for a response.

((sorry it's so short))

Ember Mist 02-11-2010 09:36 AM

Vyan smiled when she saw she was back home..This boy was supposed to find this house so knew it. She opened her mouth and let out a sort of dry whispery gasping sounds. "I..I'm V..vyan." She said in a hoarse voice.

LenGe 02-11-2010 09:52 AM

Al fumbled the doll around like a hot potatoe, in surprise over the fact that she spoke. Holding onto the doll, Al looked at it. It spoke, it was a live doll that the Witch had created. He squeezed the doll to check if the voice hadn't come from a voice box. No sound came out. "Er, sorry for that" Al said. It was strange how he was so calm over all this and not running away in fright. "Vian. I'm.. Albert but people call me Al."

Ember Mist 02-11-2010 09:54 AM

'N..NOT VIAN! V..vyan..V..Y..A..N." Vain said her voice sounding a little ruff and shaky.

LenGe 02-11-2010 12:24 PM

"Of course" Al was a little taken back by the doll's intelligence. Vyan seemed to have feelings as well. "So...is your master Navessa home?" He cautiously lowered the doll onto it's feet on the porch.
