Kaara smiled at Bastion, "Yeah that would be nice, I was gonna prevent that, then the ground met my face." She giggled, "So how are you feeling this morning?"
"I'm good, you're not hurt anywhere?" He looked her over a bit.
"My Knee hurts some," she put her hand to the hurting knee and she was bleeding a bit, "uhh, you wouldn't happen to have a bandaide in you car, would you?"
"I've got a first aid kit," He jogged back to his car and pulled out a blue case. Inside was a role bandage, anti-infectant and bandaids of all sizes. "How bad does it look?" Bastion asked over his shoulder. "Could a small bandais do the trick or is it a bigger cut?"
She had hobbled over behind him and used his car to lean on. "It's not bad just a one of those big square ones so it doesn't fall off, would be perfect. I'm sorry about this." She was suddenly remembering she was supposed to be shy and reserved.
"It's fine, happens to all of us." Bastion disinfected the cut and pressed the square band-aid over it.
Kaara hissed when the antiseptic hit her knee, "Well i figured you wouldn't want to be seen with me because of my un popularity."
((edit)) She had her hands on her skirt holding it in place. |
((you doubt that Bastion is Gentleman enough not to look at her panties? -scandalized- ))
Bastion looked at her funny. "What's popularity got to do with anything? It's pointless liking someone just because everyone else likes them, and that's gernerally how it goes." He tapped her knee lightly with his finger. "All done, stand up and make sure it's not going to bother you all day." |
((NO she is just that way and i happened to forget to have to do that.))
Kaara stood tall and shifted her weight back and fourth nodding, "Well everone likes the popular people, some people like the goons, after that comes the nerds geeks and freaks, then there is me. I always figured my unpopularity and strange manor was why noone would talk to me, I mean you didn't even know my name." She cocked her head to the side and crossed her arms, "So then why doesn't anyone like me? If popularity isn't an issue." |
Bastion closed his car door and though about her question for a moment. "I didn't know your name because I didn't have an opportunity, and while I could have made one I never acted on it." He paused a moment again. "Maybe no one else has seen an opportunity to get to know you either so they don't want to waste the effort. If you don't give a sign that you'd like to know others, a really clear sign, then people will see you as a lost cause. Fight for someone's attention I guess." He laughed a little. "As for popularity, what I'm saying is that just because people know about and are friends with me doesn't make me an important person. It makes me a stepping stone that everyone uses to get their own attention.
Bastion locked his car and crammed the keys into his pocket. "I make everything I want perfectly clear so people aren't confused or intimidated. A person is much more secure if those around them are looking ahead and know what they're doing. Like how you really don't want some random person performing brain surgery on you, you definitely want a knowledgeable doctor who knows their stuff. Just on a smaller scale." Blinking to himself, "Did that make any sense? It was a bit of an odd answer."" |
She sighed, "I think so, it's hard for me to be open because I've never had a friend before and I don't know how to make one. In kindergarten I had some sicknesses and had to stay out of school, so for the most part everyone thought i was weird or something. Now when i try to talk to people they just walk away." She was blushing because she never really had a chance to talk to anyone other than teachers so much. "Oh and thanks for talking to me, and the banaide." She paused and remembered what that sounded like then looked over her glasses hoping he didn't think she was trying to run off.
"No problem," Bastion said with a smile. "I really should have tried talking to you earlier on. It was my loss." He checked his watch. "Oh, crud...We better get going, homeroom starts in a few minutes." He started jogging toward the school. "I'm late I'm late! For a very important date!"
Kaara giggled as she ran after him, "I've never had to worry about being late before." She almost ran into the door. but flipped it open at the last minute.
"Chim Chimney Chim Chim Cher-oo!" Bastion called over his shoulder, run turning into a half-skip of sorts. They halls were nearly empty as most everyone had alreasdy rushed to their classrooms. Those that were in the hallway laughed at the spectacle and Bastion found his grin widening as his small pack bounced off his back. "A sweep is as lucky, As lucky can be!"
Kaara coukdn't help how happy and giggley she was, "Your shilly, bastion." she was skipping along with him though humming the tune.
Bastion sprung through the door and plopped into his seat in homeroom, breathing hard. Only a minute or two to spare!
Kaara collapsed on her desk breathing hard, she turned to look at bastion and had a huge smiled on her face. She gave him the peace sign then listened as the announcements began.
Every one was staring at her, "It smiled" some boy said, and Kaara started to loose her enthusiasm for the day. |
Bastion smiled tensely and grabbed the boy around the shoulders. "Come on now, Mikey, Get your nouns right! Female, woman, lady, miss, or even better! There's a pronoun to, Kaara, come on, say it with me!" The thickened atmosphere released as he got the class laughing or smiling. He gave Kaara a wink that said, 'I gotcher back!'
Kaara had a hint of blush to her cheeks and a thank you smile on her face.
Mikey just stared at Bastion, "What?" He was embarassed, "I_" He tried to hide in his hoodiewhen the bell rang |
"Alors, Mikey, mon ami, nous devrions allons la classe du mathématiques! Oui? Non?" He pulled Mikey from the classroom jovially with his arm around the other's neck all chummy like.
Kaara headed off to her english class. She felt bad for mikey but they left before she could right the wrong.
Once they were in the classroom Bastion let go of Mikey and the boy tried to catch his breath. "What was that about?" He finally asked and Bastion cocked his head. "She's not bad, Kaara, I mean. " He finally replied.
Mikey raised an eyebrow but didn't ask anymore. |
Everyone that was in her homeroom and English class stared at her as she sat sketching a female character. She wasn't paying attention she was to happy to have a friend.
The bell rang again, signaling that it was time for the class to start. The room got quiet and class started. There were a few looks in Bastion's direction and the reason was currently glaring a hole in the back of his head. Candice was pissed. He didn't know why but she seemed to have chosen to ignore him--except when he wasn't look...
((lol that is pretty funny))
Kaara was being stared at as the teacher started then the teacher yelled and started the lesson. As the lesson came to a close some people whispered to everyone and then the bell rang. Kaara grabbed her books and headed to her locker to trade her things for her art things. She had a way to save the tower of doom. |
