Marian Hull ran through the slush covered back alleys of the downtown core. The snow had just stopped falling but only the sidewalks retained any sign that that had every been a new snow fall. Dull shouts from the men who pursued her came into hearing range as they rounded the corner at the bottom of the alley way. The thugs had circled around the block and cut off Marian's Escape.

The young girl who could not be any older then 18, maybe even 19. years old. What could she had done to bring a car full of dangerous men racing up the alley way at her? It wasn't what she had done, it was what her father had done. He is the Mayor of OceanBay, he was elected on the platform of Crime Control. Dan Hull was the Mayor that was finally going to rid the city of crime once and for all. But instead of getting ride of crime, Be just help hid all the actives that the crime lords did, getting rich from his underhanded deeds. Dan Had the whole city in the palm of his hand. He controlled everyone from corrupt cops and government officials to the citys Crime lords and the Killers that worked under them.

For those reasons Marian was sure the thugs what were chasing her were under her father's orders. It seemed that he would go to any lengths to keep his dealings with these types of people quite. He would even sacrifice his own child for it. It wasnt like Marian was worth much to him anyway. She was a Bastard child, that came about through an affair he had, had with one of the maids that clean his house. When his wife had a little girl, Marian found herself push out of his life completely, only to getting child support checks every month. Yesterday had been the first time in over 6 years that she had seen and spoken with her father again and their interaction had been nothing more then Him telling her never to contact him again for any reason at all.

Marian looked around and ran over to an open door at the back of shabby looking Inn. She dashes up the stairs without caring who she pushed out of the way. A Cd dropped from her pocket and she scooped it up with her fingers. That disk she dropped was the reason her life had gone down the drain so fast. It was the proof that her father was dealing with criminals and killer. If that information got out to the media, Dan Hull could be facing a life time in jail. Marina had taken the disk by accident, but it didnt mater to her father. She had it, so that meant she was now one of his enemies now and Dan Hull show no mercy to his enemies.

Marian opened that door at the top of the stair case and found herself on the roof of the Inn. Panic set in fast. It looked like she was trapped up here. The loud shouts drew the young girl to the edge of the roof. She looked down and saw Men getting out of the car that had been chasing her for the last 2 days. There was a mix of people, Some underworld thugs and some corrupt cops. All of the people were armed with weapons.

Kyle sat in a dark alley, staring down at his cell phone. The mayor was suppose to call him soon, something important was stolen, and Kyle had been hired, told that details would be explained later on. He stuffed the cell phone in his pocket and mumbled a few words and began to move out of the alley into the crowded sidewalk. A few yells and shouts of anger were heared and he looked up from under his hat. Groups of men surrounded a building, some going inside to reach the top. He was about to ask a witness what was happening, but his cellphone rang. Kyle dug into his pocket and pulled it out, the mayors number was shown on the small screen, he pressed talk and held it up to his ear, listenting carefully , trying to block out all of the shouts and people talking over eachother, seeming confused. A voice came on the phone, but it wasen't the mayors voice.
'Kyle.' A deep and annoyed voice said on the other line.
'What is it?' Kyle asked.
'Get to Fairway Inn. Its a bit beatdown, and not very active.. But anyway, on top of the building is the girl we need. Get up there and catch her as quick as possible. If she tries to run, kill her.' Their was a beep, meaning the call ended.
He looked up at the inn and saw that it was beatdown, like the man had said, and a small sign on the door said Fairway Inn. He looked up at the roof, seeing a small face pear down at the bottom for a moment. Thats her.
He pushed through people, either backing away or running from the armed men, some just staring, bewildered.
Kyle managed to get through them and came to a small alley, with a ladder heading up to the roof. he jumped up and grabbed it, pulling himself up to it and climbing up quietly, so she wouldn't hear him. He stopped a short second and pulled up the hood on his ankle-long coat and continued. Some thoughts ran through his head, like why were they after a girl? What did she steal? Who is she?
He'd have to ask later, now seeing her still bent over the railing and looking over.

A shot ran off and brake the silence that had set in. Marian let out a scream and jumped away from the railing. Her shaking hand touched her check. There was no pain and no blood. To her luck the bullet had missed her head by a inch or two. These men were willing to do anything to get the disk back.

When she had taken the disk Marian had thought that this Cd-Rom was nothing more then paper work for the city, useless to anyone other them the Mayor himself. The only reason she took the Cd in the first place was to force another meeting with her Father, In the hopes that they might be able to work out a way to see each other without anyone ever finding out about the past he had hand with her mother. To say the least his Disk was turning out to be even more important then She first thought. What could be on it?

As Marian heard the footsteps of people coming up the stairway. She began to panic. There was no where to hide up here. There was only a matter of time before they found her. She didnt know what to do. The only clear thing she could think of was placing the Disk in her messenger bag for safe keeping until she could find out more about the thing.

Once the disk was tucked safely away in her bag, Marian ran for the front of the roof. This was an Inn after all, there had to be a fire escape some where. what meet her eyes when she walked around the stairway housing was not a escape route but a boy.
Had he been there the hole time? She thought to herself.
Marian ran her fingers through her fiery red hair. Her blue eyes never left the young man as he walked around the roof top patio. The men that had been chasing her all night long where only seconds away. This was no time for Marian to be checking out a boy, but something about him just held her attention. She could put her finger on it. He just looked dangerous.
Her voice was quite as she spoke out, "I dont have much time.... Is there way off the roof top?" a short pause followed "Other then the Stairs, I mean."

Kyle saw the bullet fly past her head, and his first thought on her was that she was a clutz, and ddin't move that fast for her own safety. He watched her put something in her bag, most likey the thing she'd stolen from the mayor. She walked towards him a second and apparently hadn't seen him until she looked forward. She was a bit bothered by him, it seemed and gave her a bit of a bored look. Hearing her questions he sighed, and relpied with,
'Your what I have to put up with? They said this was a big deal, but your not much. Im surprised the men down there still haven't caught you.' Kyle said and stood up, quickly walking toward her.

Marain took a step back. For a signal moment her eyes showed true fear for the boy in front of her. He knew! He knew about the men and the fact they had been after her. Had he come out from the car?.

"Leave me alone!" Marian hissed out. Her eyes glared at him telling this boy to keep away. Her Luck did not seem to be holding out. The first of the Thugs come onto the roof. It had been the cop that had shot at her.He looked 40 and his hair sparkled a silver grey color is the moonlight.

Marian was now boxed in on all sides, between the two men who were after her and the edge of the roof. She decided to made a break for it. Passed the boy in front of her.

As soon as she started to move the old Cop screamed out, flashing his Police badge. "City Police! Stop her!"
