Kairi Crest had awoken at dusk.. This was the perfect time to go on the hunt. She smiled to herself as she rose from her bed and got dressed. She tied her hair back into pigtails, to give her a more innocent look.. She looked into a dirty mirror and put on an innocent look.. 'Time to go.' she thought, sticking a knife into her boot. She found that knifes were more effective in killing vampires than wooden stakes.... She didn't know why either..

She stepped out of her house and into the darkening streets.... Off in the distance, she could see some of the stupid men the Elders trained. They were probably just going to get themselves killed. They didn't have the training that she did. She shrugged and headed off in the opposite direction of them. There was no way she was going to let them get in her way or try to stop her.. She couldn't deal with it right now......

Yes. I know what you're thinking.. A girl slaying vampires. Crazy, right? Well, not to her. She'd been training since the day she could walk by her father. Ever since her mother died from the Vampire Overloard himself, Kairi sworn that she'd avenge her mother's death by killing the Vampire Overload, and any vampire that got in her way... That's her only purpose in life so far. To avenge her mother.. her father died when she was 10, but she continued her training up until this point, where now Kairi was 18.

The night was just like any other.

Marcus Benedict spent his time like all the other common vampires. Hunting his prey and enjoying every moment of it. The moon was full, thus many others like himself did not claim such a night. They rather stay in hiding away from the doubled dangers. Not only would there be slayers, oh no, but some cases the wolves would be out, in packs just waiting to take down any other creature that dare come into its territory. Marcus was one to play with death, and look it in the eye. He had already done so several times in the two centuries he was alive.

Don't hide from what you are of, he repeated to himself in his head as he walked the foggy streets. He would stake his claim any where he chosen as his own, and he would keep it there. He was adoring a black shirt, that curved around his muscular body, and torn jeans. He worn no shoes. The clothing he wore now, was stolen from other victims he had come across in the few vast nights.

He had been walking down the dark road for only an hour, until he found a woman, worth taking. It was of the simplest game. She was alone, and all he had to do was simply get her attention into his dark ruby eyes. Not a hard task at all. Once she glanced, she could not look away. Stuck in the swirling pools. She would follow him by command, and she did. When he had her out of sight, he would take her and feed off of her. To him it was like a beautifully written poem, that he read so many times, that it seemed the ink never ran out.

Kairi walked through the silent streets, searching for any signs of a vampire. Every rustle of a sound, the whisper of the wind, made her turn her head to look around. Her hair swirled around her with each turn of her head. A breeze blew past and her skirt swirled around her knees. She crossed arms lightly and turned a corner. A small smile spread across her face as she saw a vampire off in the distance, stalking some girl.

Perfect target... Kairi thought, moving forward. It didn't take her long to have the vampire followed and killed. She wiped her blade off on his shirt and turned, looking for another victim. She continued down the streets for a few minutes, avoiding the other slayers. Too many slayers in one spot tended to have the vampires stay away. She was avoiding that. She sighed quietly and turned down another street. When she saw another one, she went forward silently.
