In the oppressed world a few friends come across and artifact from when the worlds split and shift into the other world, replacing their own counter parts in a mirror world... They must struggle to fit in while also fighting to return home. Their other world counter parts, however, don't want to return home.

Sometimes she doesn't pay close enough attention to her own needs as she is always trying to help others. If anyone doesn't like her, she takes it personally and will sulk about it in private and in public try to seek their approval, which can lead her to seem annoying to some people.
Bio: Ariana is an only child. Her father is a university professor and her mother works as a librarian so learning has always been part of her life. When other kids were getting all the coolest toys she was getting books for Christmas, but she never complained about it.

Music is very important to him and he is never without a song stuck in his head, no matter the genre, so he is often singing without realizing it. It was this musical talent that has him already college scouted for Julliard. His parents, who both grew up poor and tried to do their best to provide all they good for him are fiercely proud of him and he is very defensive about his poor family roots, not wanting to be judged on how big his parents pay checks are.

Dominick stretched his arms up over his head in a stretch and stifled a yawn. This class trip to the museum had been all lecture about the museum itself and not about the stuff on display. He really didn't care when the building was built or how many owners it had over the years; he just wanted to get out and go exploring.

There was supposed to be a replica of Mozart's piano and he was itching to go see if it was true. Of course he knew his friends would want to see different things and he would go with them, just so long as he saw the piano before they left. Maybe if they saved it for last he could try playing it. It'd be worth getting kicked out for doing it.

~

Nose pushed into a pamphlet about the museum, Ariana leaned gently against Dominick as they stood in a group with all of their classmates. Unlike him, she was at least half listening. The other half of her attention was on the pictures in front of her. There was classical artwork here from many different eras but also human interest and historical pieces.

By the time the lecture ended she was thoroughly certain she had no idea where to start. One of their teachers stepped forward to talk;
"Alright everyone! Keep an eye on the clock. We are meeting back here at four fifteen and then going to dinner at a local restaurant. If you are not back here on time we will be sending security after you and I assure each and every one of you that you do not want to be brought back to the bus with an armed guard. Have fun and be respectful!"

Ari lowered the pamplet and looked at her friends. "So, where do we start?"

Livia wasn't listening to the lecture at all she was mostly daydreaming. Yawning softly she looked at her friends flicking her hair behind her shoulder. It was long and flowed easily around her so she twirled lightly to make it move as she waited. Once the teacher was done she yawned again and looked at everyone. "I want to see the French revolution exibit. I wonder if they have one of those Guillotine." She said lightly.

------*****------

He wasn't paying attention actually he wasn't doing anything near paying attention. He was listening to music and folding pamphlet into a large air plane using the front desk tape to do so. He was sitting down right in front of it and reaching up periodically to grab some tape. When the lecture was over he looked around and quickly sent the paper plane at Ariana.

"Sounds neat," Dom agreed. "Maybe they have the list of prisoners who were in the Bastille the day they attacked it? Wasn't it only just a couple of people? And yet it's such a historic event." He shook his head a little, never really understanding how one small event could alter the entire course of history. So far in his life, there had been no real unexpected twists. Everything was predictable and expected, even his success with music. He worked hard to be as good as he was and it paid off.

Snatching the pamphlet from Ari, he flipped it open. "Looks like French Revolution is up on the third floor. Let's go."

~

Ari shot Dom an annoyed look just as the paper plane crashed into her leg. Her death glare shifted from one boy to the next. There was no question who was throwing paper planes in her mind. With a sigh of disgust and annoyance directed at Leo, she rolled her eyes and crossed her arms and turned back to the others.

"Sounds fine to me." Purposefully she stepped forward and smashed Leo's paper plane as she headed toward the elevators. She never took the stairs if there was an easier way to get to upper floors.

"Aww!" Leo complained when she smashed his plane. "Jeeze Ari your no fun." He grumbled getting up and picking up the crushed invention. He pouted lightly like a child and looked at the other too. "I don't think she's in a good mood." He said in a joking manner. He brushed off the plane for the most part. He tossed it into the trash and went over catching up with Ari. He placed a hand over her shoulders. "Come on Ari don't get grumpy this is going to be very educational. And fun. Did I mention lots of reading?" HE asked looking at her with a comical look on his face.

------

Livia sighed lightly watching Ari and the other three. "Well I guess that was interesting. I think I'll take the stairs." She said simply. "Sometimes some of the things they don't have room for are on the balconies and stuff." She said walking towards the stairs up towards the third floor. Her pinkish hair swaying as she walked. She watched Ari and Leo's feeble attempt to get her to ignore his annoying action.

"Of course she's grumpy... you've gone and used perfectly good reading material for a paper plane," Dom teased Leo with a grin. He looked up at Livia and nodded. "I'm going to climb with you. I could use the workout." He followed Livia, watching her hair swish about. He wanted so very badly to play with her hair but would never admit that out loud.

~

Try as she might, Ari couldn't stay mad at Leo for more than a few seconds. The tension in her shoulders released and she sighed again before smiling. "Oh fine... but only because there's reading material involved." There were times when she was entirely uncertain how she'd ended up as Leo's friend. He had so many qualities that clashed with her own. Little fights like the one they just had were common and short lasting as he always managed to make her smile again a few moments later.

She pushed the button for the elevator and turned toward the others while she waited for the doors to slide open. "I'll meet you up there then." Her big brown eyes settled on Leo's face. "Riding with me or are you going to go with them?" She held a pamphlet out to him. "You could recreate your masterpiece in the elevator and we can throw it off one of the upper floor balconies."

Leo grinned. "Well in that case I'm ridding with you." He said taking the pamphlet and actually looking inside. "Hmm cool..." He stated simply. "Meet you two up there. Don't get distracted please we do want to get through the entire museum." He said jokingly. The blond boy was really the spase who got distracted the most but he liked teasing others.

------

Livia laughed. "Don't think its going to be a problem." She looked back at Dom. "Ready then?" She questioned before she started jogging lightly up the stairs. Her hair bouncing along with her. It was kind of dangerous in a way to stand to close to her when she was running because her hair would flick and often catch people in the eye. It was worse when she wore it up.

Ari held in a laugh when Leo told the others not to get distracted. The pot really was calling the kettle black on this one. Stepping into the elevator, Ari waited for Leo before punching the number 3 button. "Hey Leo?" She frowned at the panel of numbers. "Can you see what is on the fifth floor? I thought this place was only for stories high." Her finger itched to push the five button but she wanted to wait for Livia and Dom if they were going to try and explore a floor of the museum not open to the public.

~

"Ready," Dom said. He followed her up the stairs, but kept his distance. It had taken him a few tries but he finally learned to avoid her swinging hair after about the fifth time of being poked in the eye and the tenth time of being smacked in the face with it. Her pony tails were lethal. "Do you think they'll have a Marie Antoinette wax figure on the guillotine?"

Leo looked at Ari and grinned. "With pleasure." He said sitting down and flipping through. "It says on the fourth and final story of the museam there is the prehistoric animal exhibits and wax dino figurines." He said looking at her. "On the back of this one." He pulled out a different one from his pocket and read it. "Soon to be put in a fifth floor that will honor the cultural religions that were once in this area and the ancient use of elemental magic now outlawed because of unknown past events." He stated holding it up to her. "They're probably still putting in artifacts and description plates and glass and stuff." He said with a shrug. Then he grinned again looking at her. "I say we grab Livia and Dom and go check it out." He stated with a nod.

---------```

Livia stopped on the first balcony and smiled looking at a four foot statue of a sitting cat. It was old looking and the paint was chipping. "This one is from Egypt." She said with a nod

Ari moved to sit beside Leo, not seeming to notice when they reached the third floor. Looking over his shoulder at the pamphlets and reading what they said. Unfortunately, there wasn't much more there than what he'd just said. "I agree. We should go see what's up there. They might have some of the information plates up already." She blushed a little when she realized she sounded a little too enthusiastic about that.

"I've never heard of elemental magic being used in this region before. Or that it's outlawed. Why would they even bother outlawing it? Magic isn't real... I think the Harry Potter nut heads proved that beyond a doubt."

~

Dom stopped to consider the cat statue. Slanted and strange, the eyes had probably once been outlined in black. Now they just seemed hollow and eerie. He shifted uncomfortably and tried to look at something else. For something without pupils, he felt like the statue was watching him. "It's interesting... how many cultures esteemed cats in worship or have mythology surrounding them. I wonder if those people would be mad that we call it mythology today. I can just imagine how Christians would feel if someone said something like that about the Bible.

Leo laughed a rather heartly laugh. "Oh...thats good Ari." he said softly wiping a single tear from his eyes. "Oi...so good." He stood up as the elevator doors opened. "Come on." He said lightly as he walked out halfway and held the elevator door for her. "SO what should we say? 'hey guys the elevator has an extra level in it...want to explore?' hey actually that doesn't sound half bad." He said with a grin.

---------~

Livia laughed as if something where funny. "Oh man I have seen what happens I nearly got mobbed." She said with a playful glance at Dom. "Its funny really how easy it is to insult someone." She sighed. "Shame really the world is so touchy these days. Well come on." She said as she started up the next set of stairs. "I'll get there first!" She called down to him hoping to make it a race.

"Oh? You think so, do you?" Dom started up the stairs after her, taking them two at a time. It was her swinging hair that kept him from catching her, although he did manage to catch a rather big mouthful of it before spitting it out.

"I demand a rematch! Something where your hair is in a bun. That wasn't fair!" He spilled out of the stairwell after her, just as Ari and Leo got there. "Oh good, perfect timing. Tell Livia it's not fair to use her hair in a foot race."

~

"I don't think it would take any more than telling them that there's a floor not on the tour to get them to want to go there." Ari stood and brushed off her butt before moving to the elevator door and holding it open with Leo.

Ari rolled her eyes. "It was your fault for letting her get in front of you, Dom. Come on into the elevator. There's a fifth floor exhibit that's not opened yet and we want to see if we can get up there."

Livia laughed some and pulled out a hair clip pulling her hair up and clipping it so that it was up more so it wouldn't attack anyone in the elevator. "Do you think we'll get kicked out if we go up there?" She asked hopping in the elevator. "Aww Dom don't be mad I'll put my hair up next time. Promise." She said with a grin.

Leo looked at Livia. "Don't listen to her she has her fingures crossed." He joked lightly. Livia stuck her tongue out. "Don't dottle it'll look suspicious." He said said rushing his friends. "I'll tell you what we know once all of you all are inside." He stated motioning for Dom to get in.

"I wouldn't dream of trusting a promise like the one she just made me." Dom shook his head and stepped into the elevator as well. "You know, we'll be in a ton of trouble if we're caught where we're not supposed to be. Not only will we get kicked out but we'll probably have to wait on the bus."

~

"Then let's not get caught," Ari suggested coyly. Once they were all into the elevator she pushed the door close button and then the number 5. The button lit up and a smile spread across her lips. This was exciting, even if breaking the rules terrified her on the inside. She was silent as she waited for Leo to explain what they knew to Dom and Livia.

Livia grinned at Dom. "Oh but why not?" She asked jokingly. Then she looked at Leo. "Alright spill whats going on." SHe asked with a grin she tried to be serious but she was in to good of a mood.

Leo smiled. "Well supposedly the floor we're going to is going to be all about elemental magic and ancient religous stuff. But they're not finished yet." He said with a nod. "They have some artifacts up there but most of them are stuff they found around here."

Livia nodded some and then laughed a little. "Elemental magic?" She asked giggling a little. "Like abracadabra?" She asked laughing a little harder as Leo handed her the pamphlet. She fell into a full giggle fit that sent her sliding down the wall of the elevator and clinching her stomach in pain.

Dom couldn't help but grin as well. "Are you two making this up? Magic? This is a museum not a fun house. The closest thing they have to magic is a statue of Zeus in the Mediterranean Exhibit." He shook his head and grinned down at Livia in her giggle fit. "I think it'd be more like shooting fire from your fingertips."

~

Ari frowned at the attitude of the others and looked at Leo with a silent sigh escaping her lips. Thankfully the ride didn't take too long and the doors slid open. There was a folding display screen stretched to partially block the elevator doors but there was more than enough room for them to slip around the intended barricade.

"Come on. Let's at least give this exhibit a chance. It might be interesting... even if you guys think it's full of crap." She stepped off the elevator and slid behind the patrician. This floor of the museum was dark, the only lights coming from the sky lights and the windows.

~

"Wow, way to be a grouch, Ari. You don't believe in magic, do you? I wouldn't have taken you to be a nut job. Just what kind of books do you usually have your nose pushed into?" He offered Livia a hand up while Ari ignored his jabs.

Livia was still laughing when the elevator stopped. She wiped the tears from her eyes as she breathed and grabbed Dom's hand. "Thanks." She said giggling a little still. Looking around her giggles stopped as she swallowed a little. "Oh...its dark...how nice." She stated simply.

Leo looked at Livia. "What afraid of the dark?" He asked as he walked by her.

"No I'm scared of whats in the dark." She mumbled lightly to herself before hesitantly sliding out into the room. She looked around at abandoned paint cans, tapped up drywall, half made exhibit cases, and randomly placed podiums made into the floor that would hold artifacts some of which already sat in their intended places. "Its kind of creepy up here." She said simply.

Dom took Livia's hand again and gave her a confident smile. "Don't worry. We'll keep you safe from all the scary old stuff in the dark." He looked around and sniffed the air. "It smells awful up here. Paint fumes and mold. Yuck."

"It's not that bad. Come on. Lets see what's in some of the rooms with more windows. We'll be able to see better in there. Maybe we can even open one of the windows, get some fresh air in here."

Dom hung back with Livia and sighed. "I don't like this. It doesn't feel right." There was something creepy about this floor of the museum and he wasn't so sure it was because the lights were out and it was under construction. Something else was here. He felt the same sort of electricity in the air as he would have felt outside during a thunderstorm. Everything about his senses said something big was about to happen but he couldn't place what that might be. Maybe they were going to be caught. It would be almost a relief if they were.

"Look at this!" Ari said from up ahead of them. "It's all their informational plaques. It doesn't look like any of them are hung up yet." She took one of them to the window and read it in the sunlight. "It says that this stuff was found at the spot where the main roads used to cross. There was a settlement there before the road was washed out by a flood and reopened to where it is today as Highway 95... The land was sold to the mayor's son at the time. Looks like it was turn of the last century or so... I wonder how it all ended up buried."

Livia held onto his hand. "Thanks." She said lightly. Looking around she felt a shiver run down her spin. She wasn't sure if she really liked this or not. It was hard to tell, she fell under adrenalin junky sometimes but others she was cautious. "I don't like this." She murmured softly looking around at the darkest parts of the room as they walked around.

Leo was messing around when Ari spoke up. "Hey that's pretty cool. Maybe a earth quake or something shifted the ground right or whatever. OR a minor flood put sediment on it." He suggested.

"Maybe... that would make the land more valuable for the farmer guy, but it doesn't explain how this stuff ended up here." She moved to get another of the plaques and frowned. "Here... it talks about what the elements were. Fire, Earth, Metals, Wind, Water, Light, Darkness... The people who used to live in this area had a religion based around that stuff... that they believed everyone and everything in existence existed of a mixture of those elements and each could be harnessed into magical gifts."

"Sounds like a load of crap to me," Dom said. He kept Livia close but moved toward one of the more complete display cases. There was no glass in it yet but there were a few artifacts. A couple pots and what looked like a doctor's kit. "Maybe there's a reason that religion didn't survive."

"Their brand of magic was made illegal at some point. That's what the brochure thing said I think. Maybe one of these plaques says why?"

Leo looked at Ari and shrugged. "Sounds cool to me." He said as he walked over to podeum type thing that held a little statue with an arm for each element seven in all. "Hey this guy is lop sided." He said with a slight chuckle. "Anything about a seven armed man?" He asked with a questioning glance.

Livia shivered again looking at the case that Dom was looking at. "Ok, we've looked can we go?" She asked looking hopefully at Leo. Who chuckled and put his hands on his hips.

"Now Livia don't be afraid because the room is a little dim. Next time we see it, it'll be fully lit." He took a joking authoritative voice.

"That's not funny Leo. Being afraid isn't something I deal with very well. You know that." Her voice quivered lightly when she got another wave of ill feeling.

"A seven armed man? I bet he's a great multitasker..." She searched through the plaques, scanning each of them and frowned. "I'm not seeing anything about him. Maybe his case is one of the ones out there that's already in the works?"

"You guys, I think Livia is right. We should go. We shouldn't even be up here in the first place." Dom frowned down at Livia and the way she was acting. Maybe it was just her that was putting him on edge. The nervous way she couldn't stand still, kept checking the dark corners, or even how tightly she held his hand. Gently, he wrapped an arm around her waist and leaned in toward her and whispered. "Don't worry. I'll keep you safe. Nothing bad is going to happen to you. I promise."

Ari came to stand next to Leo at the statue of the man. "Huh... seven arms and six pack? I bet he's a real lady killer, that one. What do you think he's made out of? It doesn't look like gold or bronze..." She wanted to reach out and touch him but she knew better than to touch stuff in museums.
