Once in the woods, Holden shook himself. He continued to walk, staying just inside the tree line and glancing occasionally back at the house. He was panting heavily, making the scents only grow stonger. Suddenly something blue caught his attention and he looked down. Strange, elongated, blue flowers sprouted from a long stem in the middle of the grass. He knelt and sniffed them, and out of sheer curiousity snapped them up into his mouth. In this form he rarely ate vegetables. And he soon realized why. A burning sensation filled his mouth and he reared back and snarled, scraping the petals off his tongue. Angered by the foul weed's retaliation he uprooted the entire plant with his fangs, shook it viciously until only ribbons hung in his mouth and then proceeded on to find some warm-blooded prey.

Bree moved from the door way as she heard the sounds outside. She peered from one of the old dusty windows as she watched the creator outside. Her mouth fell open as she watched it. She stepped away from the window in shock of what she had saw. How could some one curse a person like that she thought. It was a awful curse she thought. Bree looked back to the books as she closed her eyes and ran to the library. She open her eyes as she looked at the books. She had to find the spell book the old woman used. If her parents knew where she was and what she was doing they would kill her. But if she didn't try and find the spell she may die. Holden may be in that best but the beast part was to strong at this time to tell the difference from her or pray. She hoped it wouldn't come in the house.

Holden saw something move in one window of the house and he stared it, waiting for it to leave. When it finally vanished, he let out a roar, one that told any living creature not to mess with him. Something scurried away not six yards from him. His sensitive ears picked it up and his predator instinct kicked in. In this form he was a tad clumsy but he was still fast and strong. He raced after it until it scurried up a tree. He look up and snarled. The thing hissed down at him. As a werewolf, Holden was not one to let prey get away so quickly. He rammed the tree with his whole body and then raked the bark with his claws. The creature moaned in terror. Holden slammed again. The tree shook and a few shallow roots became visible. He reached down, grabbed the roots, and pulled. With the sound of snapping and creaking wood, the tree was slowly uprooted. With one final heave, Holden tipped it completely. Imediately he scrabbled into the branches to find the animal he was after. A high-pitched yowl echoed over the hill. Someone would be missing their cat in the morning.
Lifting his head, Holden turned toward the house. Now, with the taste of blood in his mouth, his urge was very strong. For a tiny mammal can't satisfy a huge beast. As if in some kind of trance, Holden moved closer and closer to the house until he was pacing just outside the walls, sniffing the ground and seemingly debating with himself. |
Bree fumbled about the books, clawing at a few then throwing them down in a pile when the spell wasn't found in them. She moved frantically through the selves of books looking for the one book that had to have the spell the woman used. At this point the vampire and ghost where far from her mind. The books piled up as she kept looking through book after book. She was half way through the selves of books and she still hadn't found the right book. Bri wandered what was going to happen to her if she didn't find the spell in time. Was he going to eat her in one bite, or was Holden going to remember that he is human in time not to? She tried to speed up the processes of looking threw the books though it was not helping any. Bree's mind then wandered even if she found the spell would it work to break it if she said it? She wasn't a witch and didn't do much with magic how was she suppose to break a spell?

Holden found the porch and tore his way into it with ease, though still outside the house. He peered inside with animal curiousity. With the moon higher in the sky, he had lost his familiarity to this place and only knew that there were things in there that hadn't been in his mouth in forever. He sniffed under the door and suddenly, viciously, swapped it with his paw to experiment. The door shook and splinters went flying, but it remained closed. Holden snarled at it's persistance and his tail swished behind him with impatience.
|
Bree's eyes darted to the door as she heard the sounds out side of hit. She moved against the bookshelves as she saw it shake for the beast paws. Bree's eyes darted about the room as she looked for a way out. She darted to the stairs that lead up to another floor. Bree didn't notice that she was already in a room until she found herself in a corner in the new room. How had she got there she wandered though at this moment she didn't care she just wanted to put as much space between her and that beast as she could. Bree slid to the floor and curled up in the corner as she prayed she would not become Holden's meal. No wander no one ever came back she thought as she sat there.
|
Holden had pried off part of the door and reached his arm through, using the wall to help him tear his way through and create a bigger hole. At last, the door simply split in half and he fell through, head first. He was covered with scratches and splinters but this didn't seem to phase him. He righted himself and pressed his nose to the floor, searching. He wandered franticly into the library and looked up the stairs when no prey seemed to be found amoung the scattered books. He placed one paw on the stairs and they creaked. He was suddenly quiet, except for his panting. He slunk up the staircase, with nose still lowered, until he reached the room. At the threshold, he looked up and searched the air. A spark of blue caught his eye and he suddenly remembered why the new bitter smell was so familiar. Dried blue flowers like the one he had eaten hung around the room and he snarled, the burning in his mouth still fresh in his mind. He glanced around the room, they were everywhere. And the smell, to him, covered up any sign of the prey he had been following up here. The hair along his back rose and he shook his head and growled in annoyance, pacing just outside the door and glancing at each of the little plants in turn.
|
Bree held her breath as she heard the sound of Holden's beast form enter the house. She felt as if her heart was going to jumps out of her chest as she heard a step on the old stairs. Bree kept motionless and quite as she hide in the last self of the bookshelf. If it had been under different circumstances she would have enjoyed the beautiful flowers that she his piled on her so she would fit in the book self. She wandered who would have so many dried plants and who would put them in a bookshelf to begin with. Besides her family she didn't know many people who would use such objects to keep plants. Her eyes shifted as she saw the best again. Though she didn't know why he wasn't rushing in to attack she watched him in silence taking note that he didn't seem to like the plants. Bree looked closer at the flowers wandering what type they where she would make sure to grow them if she made it out of the old house alive. Bree was impressed she hadn't seen any flowers like them. They looked to be of a old breed of flowers but she couldn't be for sure or at lest not with something wanting to eat her.
|
If Holden had been in his right mind he would have known he was outside his own room. The flowers were there because when he had realized what had happened to him, he had search frantically through the entire library for a cure. All he had found was a shifty description of a little plant that, as of what he had read, worked readily as a defense. He had collected as much as he could from the hill and hung it in his room, planning to experiment with it some time. But since he had never been in the house during a transformation before, he had never known the true effect of the flowers. They were obviously coming in good use for his friend now though.
The moonlight shone through the window and Holden saw something rustle in the corner of the room. He lept over the boundary for an instant, was hit with a bitter smell that seemed worse than the stentch of death, yelped and scurried outside again. |
Bree bit her lip as she tried to stay clam and not make a sound, as the beast jumped into the room. She let out a soft breath as the beat jumped out of the room. She looked down at the flowers she was covered with thanking them for what ever they where doing to the beast. She knew she couldn't leave the room and she didn't want to after what she had just saw. She wandered where the other two guys where and the other girls. Why was she the only one being sought as pray. Has she been to nice to him did Holden only want to hurt her and only saw her as food. Bree shook her head as she tried to get the thoughts out of her head. It didn't matter at this time. If she made it out of the house she wouldn't come back she wasn't going to be pray again.
|
Holden saw movement in the corner of the room. Blue. The flowers. A pile of them. Probably the source or the others. One thought came to his mind. It was a threat. It was challenging him by trying to get him to leave. He growled at the pile of blue, the apparent source of his discomfort. He would not be challenged. He opened his mouth wide, displaying rows of razor-like teeth. Move again! he seemed to say. Just try to make an advance on me! None are stronger than I, you'll see! He was looking directly at Bree and yet he had no idea who she was.
(Mind if the moon starts setting?) |
(lol it is fine since I think we are the only ones still in this rp...wanders where the others went too.)
Bree kept still as she saw the beast show it's teeth in a defiant manner. It reminded her of a defiant child that needed to learn manners. Bree peered at Holden in his beast form from the safety of her pile of blue flowers. She closed her eyes as she felt a tickle in her nose. "NO!!" she thought as she felt the tickle. A rather large sneeze came from her as the pile of blue flowers fell from around her exposing her. She wiped her nose as she looked up to see her protective pile of flowers had disappeared. She moved to the back of the shelf as she looked at Holden's beast form in horror. Her eyes where wide and looked as if she had seen as ghost as she stared at him. Bree picked up a hand full of the fallen blue flowers and hide her face in them as she hoped that the beast hadn't seen her though she knew better. |
(Yeah, where'd they go? 0_o)
Holden jumped as the pile of blue exploded and when he saw Bree standing in it's place his eyes widened. He dropped down to all fours and stared at her with the wild interest of a predator. Slowly, he crept forward, as if moving slowly would keep her from panicking at the sight of a huge wolf creature. With the prey right before him, he payed no attention to the smell of the flowers. He looked like he was grinning, his lips curled back and his tongue lolling a little. When he was almost close enough to reach out and clip her with a claw he rose up onto his hind legs and a soft growl could be heard. As he stretched out his neck and opened his jaws to take her in them, he happened to glance at the window. Orange was high-lighting the sky and the moon seemed to have melted into it. A visible shudder ran all over Holden's body and he whined, covering his head with his massive paws. Slowly, he began to tremble and shrink. He let out groans and mournful howls every so often. The tail disappeared The fur all over his body shrank back until there was only a ridge along his spine and then finally disappeared. The animal sounds of pain became human until it was only the tall boy, standing there, shivering, covered in sweat, and naked, his eyes blank and hair stuck to his head. He lifted looked up. It took him a second to focus but finally he could see. He swayed a little. "...Bree?" he asked softly, his voice cracking. He was too exhausted to feel embarrased or worried or confused or anything for that matter. He just stood there, trying to keep his balance. |
Bree let out a scream as she saw the the beast appear only inches from her. She hide her face with the flowers that she held in her hands closing her eyes as she waited for her end. She herd the sound of the beast tong then the growl as she felt chills run up and down her spine unable to move standing there like a deer waiting for the end. Bree open her eyes as she heard the screams turn human. She moved the flowers from her face as she heard her name and what sounded like Holden voice saying it. Her eyes widen as she looked at the tall boy giving him a slight smile as she moved to him letting the flowers fall to the floor. Bree gently stroked Holden's Jaw then looked away from him as she realized he was not clothed causing her to blush. She walked to the bed and grabbed the sheet and held it out to him as she kept her head turned and eyes closed. "I-I am sorry!" Was all she could say as she stud there still a little shaken from almost being pray for him only seconds ago. She wanted to run like a deer and never look back at the old mansion and its secrets, but she couldn't something wouldn't let her do anything but stand there like a little statue. Bree wandered if this was part of the curse making the victims unable to leave the mansion once they where there. She couldn't leave Holden like this though if she stayed there was a good chance she wouldn't see another night.
|
Holden sighed deeply as Bree touched his face, his eyes fluttering He took the sheet limply and held it to himself like a child who had recieved their long-lost favorite blanket. Carefully, his foggy eyes examined her for any scratched, bruises, anything he might have done that night to hurt her. He tried hard to concentrate. He snickered a little when he finally realized Bree was blushing and that moment of laughter sent his world spinning a little to the left. But just enough that he lost his balance and fell to the floor. He held onto the sheet for Bree's sake.
|
Bree turned and looked at Holden on the floor and laughed. She grabbed a pillow from the bed and gently placed it under his head as she gave him a warm smile hopping he could see there was no ill will to him or his other form from her. "To be so old you are acting like a baby deer just learing how to walk. I think you should stay down here for a while I have seen you try and walk and I am sorry to say that you are failing at it. And I thought I couldn't walk. I do a better job than you!" Bree stared at him as she felt her cheeks grow hotter this was not what she was to be doing today. Staring at a very handsome boy who was old enough to be her great great great great great great great family memeber would be frowned upon by both of her parents. It was hard for her to understand how the guy she saw now could be they beast that only wanted to eat her a seconed ago. Bree felt chills run through her as she saw the beast in her mind making her smile fade as she tried to get the image out of her mind. Her eyes stared back into Holden's as her smile showed its self again. Bree shifted her eyes to her clothes as she noticed that they where ripped and torn. Not by claws witch made her happy. "This must have happen when I was running from y-you to get up here..." Bree looked up as she heard her own words. "I am sorry I shouldn't be in your room....I promise I was not meaning to be here this is just where I found myself when you thought a Bree would make a great treat. I thought the vampire would be the one to kill me...I don't have enough meat on me for your other side to eat though try telling it that." Bree said playingly as she sat there beside him now. Her smiled faded as she looked to the floor. "I-I am sorry Holden that the woman did this to you." She gently tore a piece of her clothing and whiped the sweat from his head. " If I could help you I would...I even tried to look through the spell books..I guess I better find you a wolf girl wolf boy. That way you want have to be alone here with the other two. I am going to plant some of these blue flowers around the shop after seeing how the ward off wolfves like you. I wander if they work on normal guys?"Bree was trying to break the serious mood that she had started off with. She didn't want him to think about his other half it had to painful for him to.
