In the Mountains is a secret portal to another Realm. In this Realm is a Fantastical school. This school is for those who, in the Human's Realm of Earth, are called Myths.

These Beings, range from Fae to Fairy. Ryuu to Serpintine. Angel to Daemon. Sprite to Sylph. And many, many, more.

It was decided long ago by the Gods that these beings needed to be schooled. To learn how to be part of their peoples, and to use their own unique Magicks.

But sadly that wasn't enough. As time went by the Humans began to attack the Beings. Claiming them to all be evil. The Beings, being raised to not kill, were almost wiped out by the onslaught. So the Gods took them away to the Academe Realm to hide.

For the time being they were safe. But the children grew restless. They begun to not believe the tales of their Ancestors. So the Gods decreed it that should they learn to "Blend in" they could go to the Earth. That they would be given a Transporting spell that was unique to their Race.

Thousands of years passed. They learned how to come and go. Finally they notice that there were Humans that suffered from the persecution of their peers. The were Special.

The Gods chose one, whell versed in the Arts of Humans, and he became the 'Recruiter'. It was his job to obtain the Special Humans to be trained in the school.

Specials include: Were-creatures of all kinds. Sensitives. Witches. Magus. And 'Imprinted'. An Imprinted is someone how has the characteristics of one of the Beings.

This is the story of a Special girl, (or is she?), and a new friend that she meets at Academe....

Hobbies: Listening to music, any kind but Gospel and Rap. Writing about the Beings that for so long she thought weren't real. And daydreaming about a peaceful world.

Bio: Was raised by two loving parents, who died when she was 10. Was thrown around from orphanage to orphanage, always turned aside because she was a Freak. When she turned 16 a man came and told the heads of the 'Boarding School' that she was in that he had came to take her to a better school. One that would discipline her into shape. Scared beyond belief, she makes an attempt to run, but is caught and handed over to her 'new tormentor'. When on the train that would take them to the Mountain Village that guards the Portal to the Academe Realm, the Strange man tells her the truth of where she is really going.

But as she adventures with her new friend, she finds out some secrets about herself that will change her life forever......

Bio: Belli was raised by her mother. She knows nothing of her father, but has seen a picture of a strange man that her mother keeps hidden. She ran in the forests with deer and swam in the rivers with otters. As she was growing up, her mother worried she would not have any magick because she never showed any. It wasn't until her 8th birthday that she preformed her first bit of magick. She was playing with rabbits in a flower filled meadow with her mother close by when she ran up to her mother. She held out to her mother an ice flower. Now, she is considered the best in her year. In her adventures, she will learn of a secret that could shatter her world.

The story starts on the first day that Pyra arives at the Academe. She is given the tour of the Grounds and the Dorms while her fellow Peers are in class.

Will she make friends? Or is she to be all alone in this strange, new, and exciting place?

((Just thought that I'd ask ya.. I have a habit of righting in the first person with my main character.. would that be too much of a problem with your writing style?

((First, I was always told that the fae was very tall. Hmmm, maybe some crossed wires somewhere. Yes, it does kinda look like pac-man gone crazy, lol. And no I don't think it will cause any problems you writing in first person. Mostly cause I tend to slip up and write in first person myself. So I think it will work just fine. So, I think I am going to introduce Belli now.))

The day had dawned bright and crisp. While most students are in their various classes, one was not. A tall shadow was barely seen slinking around the corners. The figure thought she had gotten away with skipping class until she heard the voice of her tutor behind.
"Bell, why are you not in history?" Belli started at the voice and turned slowly to see the aging man behind her.
"Ah, hi, Nathan. Umm, I was just on my way there, so I really don't have time to chat. I will just be going..."the blond haired girl started. Nathan held up his hand to stop her as he shook his balding head. His steel gray eyes met her crystal blue one.
"No, I don't think you will be going anywhere. This is the fifth time this month you have been caught breaking the rules," he told her.
"Fifth? No, I believe this would be the third," Belli countered.
"The frozen toilet," Nathan said holding up one finger.
"That was so funny. You should have seen Professor Merideth's face," Belli laughed.
"The cat you dyed blue and kept in you dorm room," Nathan held up a second finger.
"She was lonely and looked so cute blue," Belli crossed her arms.
"The Ever Burst firecracker you set off during lunch and the spiders you put in that first years plate," Nathan continued holding up four fingers.
"But, both of those were hilarious," Belli giggled.
"And, now this," Nathan finished.
"I think your missing some like the three doodles on the corridor walls I did last week and the Basic Arithmetic class room that is now covered in vines and can't be used," Belli added.
"You really shouldn't dig yourself any deeper. But, oh well, I don't think you can handle this new task, but the Headmistress ((this can be changed to Headmaster if the Head is a dude)) has decided your the best for the job," Nathan sighed.
"What job?" Belli asked.
"We have a new student and you are to teach her the rules, since to know them so well that you can break every one within the first week of arriving," Nathan explained. "You will meet her at lunch today, which is in five minutes. Better hurry." With that he disappeared down the hall towards his personal study. Belli turned and headed towards the Nourishment to meet this new student. Hopefully, she will have a good sense of humor.

It was scary. All alone. In a new place. Yet again. The kind man that brought her to the school, he called it the Academe, Had left her in a place called Nourishment. A place like the cafeteria's back at Earth. He had explained alittle about why she was there and what she was going to be doing. He even told her that she would be making new friends.

'Friends...?' Pyra thought. 'What are those?' She knew that children made a sort of alliance with each other on the playgrounds. That they hung out in groups. If that was what friends were then why would they want to have a "Freak" for a friend? 'They won't be friends with me. Nobody ever does.'

Pyra sat by herself in Nourishment and waited for the Girl, that was supposed to be her Dormmate, to show. The nice man had said that this girl would be her first friend at Academe. Pyra doubted it.

((btw. if you want to, you can call her Py... It's just that that seems like what your character would call her...))

((You know what. Py does sound like something Bell would call Pyra. Good idea.))
Belli walked into the room and noticed the new student right away.
"Hey, you must be the new girl," Belli said walking up to her. "The name is Bellinanna. But please, please, I beg you call me Belli. I hate the name my mom gave me. So what is your name?"

((I know so cool right?! lol))

Pyra looked up at Belli. "My name is Pyra. And yes I'm the new girl." She quickly looked down at her hands. "The man that brought me here, he said that you were going to be my 'Friend'?" Pyra looked back trying and not sucseeding in hiding her hope from her face. She really did want to have a 'friend'!

"I wouldn't quite say friend. More like you're my new accomplice. This is going to be a fun year,"Belli said as she put her arm across Pyra's shoulders. "Stick with me and you will learn the ropes around here pretty quick. So, do you know who your tutor is yet?"

Pyra was scared. She didn't want to get in any trouble. 'But then again,' She thought. 'It might be kinda fun to get in trouble for doing things I've actually done wrong for once!' She gave a less tenative smile to Belli. 'Why not! It could even be fun!'

But when she thought about, tutors she wasn't as excited. She didn't know who she had as a tutor yet. But she figured that she should tell Belli that so she wouldn't asume otherwise. "I don't have a Tutor yet. The man that brought me here, said that I needed to have tests. He said that he thinks I'm a Fae Imprinted, but sometimes 'Lost Families' are found among the Humans. What does that mean? Or is that something that I should ask my Tutor?" Pyra looked at Belli, hopeful that the other girl could tell her some of the answers that were bothering her....

((Btw. Make your best judgment. If you think you understand the story enough to answer her, do. If not then tell her to ask her tutor. It's up to you ok?;) ))

((Ok, I will try my hand at some of the answers. I think I am going to wing it. Kinda make up a history for the people. Well you will see what I mean. Just remember that what ever I type can be changed if it does not work.))

Belli scrunched up her nose in thought. "Well, first off something happened many generations ago that caused some of the old families to break up. Mostly it was children, but it was some adults, too. People from our world just suddenly disappeared. It was so weird. To this day we still have no idea how to find them among the humans, although a few of the members from the "Lost Families" have been recovered. If it turns out that you are a surviving member of a "Lost Family" that means most likely you stem from one of the oldest of the families. You could even be from one of the royal families. No one talks about it, except in gossip, but the crown prince of the Dragama Family was one of the ones who disappeared. His line is one of the ones that has yet to be recovered. You could be his decedent. That would be so wicked. I wonder if I should take you straight to the Headmistress for your tests or to Nathan. Students usually have to be summoned and escorted to the old bat, but since you don't have a tutor to escort you..." Belli gazed off into the distance lost in thought. "We could get in some serious trouble just busting in on old bat head, but hey, it's a rule I have yet to break. Yeah, let's go see the bat straight off. This is a chance to see if the stories are true." Belli laughed as she looped her arm through Pyra's and started dragging from the room.

(Oh, man, I hope the back story I gave for the "Lost Families" is good enough. I didn't actually get any info on them so I winged it. Hope it works.))

Pyra trailed along behind Belli. The taller girl was fast. 'I wish that I was as tall as Belli.' She thought sadly. 'Then maybe the other kids wouldn't've teased me so much.' She made a quick glance down at herself as they ran. She had just turned 16, and yet she only looked like she was 13. She didn't mind the idea of looking 16 for the rest of her life, but 13! She couldn't ever get behind the wheel of a car without having problems. Not that she would need a car here at the Academe.

Just then she realized something. "Belli?" Pyra asked as they ran through the halls. "Why did you call the Headmistress the old bat?" She didn't understand. Back at Earth that would've been so rude.....

((You created the Headmistress and Nathen so you get to make their stories ok? I'm kinda thinking of creating a character too. But this one won't show up til about two monthes after Pyra's started school.))

((Aye, I can do. I didn't know if you had an idea when you mentioned the "Lost Families" or not, so I kinda did what I always do in that situation. I made it up myself. People tell me I am pretty good at plots and back stories. lol I am glad you liked it.))

Belli stopped suddenly causing Pyra to run into her. Belli turned to look at Pyra with a serious look on her face.
"I know it might seem pretty rude to call her an old bat, but she really rubs me the wrong way. Every since the day I got here she has had this look in her eye like I was lower than the dirt beneath her shoes. I got in trouble for everything. I finally got so tired of being in trouble for nothing that I started really breaking rules. That's when the students really started to notice me. Now I have a slight following of people here. The Head is so strict that no one dares break the rules. I guess I am the first person to do so in the hundred years she has been Head here." Belli turned and started walking again. "But there is a reason for why she is so strict, or at least that's what I hear. I once heard Nathan talking to the Arithmetic professor, who you will meet later, that the bat is actually blind. Something to do with a freak accident when she was in school here at the Academe. Some kid was breaking a minor rule and it caused her to lose her eyesight and fall two years behind. I heard she has been very strict on rules since then. But, we had better hurry up. She will want to put you in your classes immediately so you won't miss afternoon classes today." Belli looked over her shoulder to make sure Pyra was keeping up.

'Wow. She's blind!' Pyra thought. She had admiration for this Headmistress even though she had done the same thing to Belli, that all the others had done to her. She confided in Belli, "I always used to get in trouble for nothing too. Everywhere I went. If we had a field day at the home or ophange, and I got to go. I got in trouble for stealing something, usually. That was the most common. And when they wouldn't find it on me.... They would punish me for lieing or hiding it... They always told me that I was lieing.... Or beating on other kids... And one time I supposedly set fire to one of the Matron's prized cats! I love cats! Why would I do that if I loved cats?!" Pyra was upset. She had loved that particular cat alot. It was the only one that went anywhere near her. It was soft and fluffy. "He was my best friend in the place..." She started to cry. "But after that Mr. McFluffers had to be put down..." After that she was confined to her room. Living on only bread and water. Two weeks later the Man had came to take her away........

Belli patted Pyra's shoulder. "It's ok. I don't know why some people are so mean. And you don't need to get the wrong impression about the bat. She is decent to other students. It's just me that rubs her the wrong way. I'm sure she will just adore you. Besides, if nothing else, you already found one friend here. I kinda like you. We could be a good pair. Nathan thinks that escorting you around will calm me down. I think the two of us are going to run this school in the coming weeks. People will know your name, and they will adore you. The first chance I get I am going to get you a new cat. You are going to love your life at the Academe. Come on. Maybe the bat will put you in some of my classes." Belli started leading Pyra towards the Headmistress's office again.

"You mean that we can have pets here?!" Pyra was excited! "My own kitty! I love Cats! You mean I could really have one?!" Sh was so excited that she forgot all about the everything else. Not fitting in. Not having friends. The Headmistress hating her. Everything that was bothering her. All gone at the hope of having a Kitty.

Belli laughed. "Actually pets are against the rules. But, I have a pet myself. Nathan is the only one who knows about her, but he won't turn me in. But if we keep quiet about the cats, we can get you one. I mean the bat hasn't found out about Esmerald yet. I have been trying to change the no pets rule for awhile now. I think I am close to getting the Board to change it. You can help me with that. See, I don't just break rules. I make them. Or in this case, change them. But, come one. We are almost to the bat's office." Belli continues walking down the hall.

Pyra was quite for the rest of the walk to the 'old bat's' office. Belli was nice. And this Nathen guy seemed nice too. At least by what she heard Belli say about him. "Is Nathen your Tutor?" She asked, curious to learn more about her 'Guide' and Friend.

Belli looked at Pyra. "Yeah, Nathan is my tutor. Kinda odd that he is. We have differing personalities. He is so respectful and I am a trouble maker. I have gotten him in some hot water before, bu then he turns around and pulls me from boiling water. He has gotten my butt out of some serious jams. Most of the time, he thwarts my rule breaking before the bat gets wind of it, which has kept me in school here. Once I dyed this cat blue. It was so funny. Of course the coloring washed right out, but the bat is allergic to cats. That's why we can't have pets here. Because the bat is allergic to cats, she doesn't allow any pets. But anyways, I hid the cat in my dorm for three weeks before even Nathan found out. If the bat had found out, it would have been my 4th infraction in a single month. Can you say expulsion? They go by a four strikes, you're out rule, and when they say "you're out" they really mean it. The bat's office is just up here on the right."

Pyra's ears stood erect. A strange little trick that she could do. "She's allergic to cats..." 'I guess I can't have a kitty then.' She almost started crying. But she decided to hold back her tears. 'If I go in there with Belli and I'm crying. Then the bat would think that Belli hurt me.' So Pyra stuck up her chin and followed Belli through the door...

The room was very dim. Belli could just barely make out the old woman sitting behind the desk on the other side of the room.
"Who dares enter here without a summons?" a strong steady voice floated across the distance.
"It's just me, Headmistress," Belli said with an air of defiance.
"Bellinanna, what a pleasure it is to see you here. What misdemeanor do I own the pleasure of punishing this time?" the old woman laughed.
"To tell the truth, for the first time I'm not in trouble, Head. I was actually bringing you a new student. Some how she hasn't been given a tutor nor a class list and I figured since you assign tutors, and she hasn't met you yet, now was the perfect chance to bring her here," Belli said. "And how many times do I have to tell you people, my name is Belli or Bells. Not Bellinanna. I hate that name."
"Well, Bellinanna," the Head all but snarled, "I thank you for thinking so much of your fellow student. Let's see. Ah, you are Pyra. I see that you are listed as a possible Fae imprint. Good, good. This is your last chance, Belli. You are to lead this student and teach her the ropes. If she gets one letter, just one, or even one detention, you are gone, you hear me," the old woman said.
"Yes, Head, I got ya," Belli said with a wave of dismissal. It's not like she hasn't been threatened like this before.
"She will stay in your dorm with you and your mates. Every class you have she will have. Your tutor will be her tutor. The only thing that differs will be her Magic studies. While you are in Water Magic, she will be studying Fire. This is your very last chance," the Head said ending the conversation. She got up from her desk and left the room through a side door. Just as the door closed, the door behind Belli and Pyra opened and Nathan walked through.
"Bells, what did you do this time?" Nathan asked in a shocked tone.
"Why is it any time I am in the Head's office, everyone thinks I did something?" Belli asked with a sigh.
"Because every time you are in the Head's office, it is because you have done something," Nathan answered.
"Oh, yeah," Belli laughed. "well, this time, Nathan, I actually haven't done anything. I just got you a new student. Nathan, meet Pyra." Belli motioned towards Pyra.
"New student? Headmistress never gives two students to one tutor. Man," Nathan sighed. "What did I do to deserve this? What did she say to you?"
"Just the usual. Blah, blah, this is my last chance, blah, blah, I'm gone, blah, blah. Oh, and if Py here gets one letter or one detention, it is my butt on the line. See? Just the usual threats, except this time it involves Py staying out of trouble, or at least not getting caught, and passing her classes and such. I'm not worried," Belli said nonchalantly.
"Is she even on your level in any of her courses?" Nathan asked Belli before talking to Py. "Can you do Pre-calculus? Are you an AP writer? Are you on Level 3 History? What magic can you willingly perform? Do you even know what a Fae is and what it is about you that makes the board think you are Fae imprinted. Or even what an imprint is?" Nathan asked judging the Head's decision.

Pyra was happy as she heard the Headmistress say that she was to stick by Belli. But was upset that if she did one thing wrong Belli would be punished for it. Then a man walked in the door as soon as the Headmistress left. And he started to ask her questions. She answered honestly. She didn't like the idea of making her new tutor mad at her. "Pre-Calculus? No. I don't even know basic math. What's an 'AP writer'? Level 3 History? I know the basics of history... But I don't think that it's what your talking about... Since it's the history of Earth." Pyra tilted her head to the side. "Magic? I don't know anything about Magic.." She looked down at her feet. "And no to your last three questions sir. I've always been different... But I don't think that I even belong here.... I'll probably even get Belli in trouble just by being around her..." She trailed off in a sad voice. She really wanted Belli to be her friend. But that would mean that Belli would be in trouble just by being near by.....

((first off sorry i havent been here in awhile. i have been sick with the flu. just got over it. now back to the story))

Belli patted Pyra on the shoulder.
"It's ok. I am sure I can catch you up in the studies. I am the top of my class. Calculus is a breeze once you learn the basics and an AP writer is just a really good writer. They are the best in English and Composition. As for magic, well, that one you start off at the beginning. Good thing your fire, but I could easily teach you water magic." Belli turned to Nathan.
"Shame on you. Scaring her like that. We can do this. Have some faith in me." Belli turned back to Pyra.
"And as for you getting me into trouble, I think we have more to worry about me getting you into trouble. We just got to make sure you don't get caught. That would be bad. The old bat has been trying to get me out of this school since my first day. She hasn't done it yet, and she won't do it this year either. Come on. We should go to Pre-Cal. It's my next class for the day and since she put you in all my classes, it's your first class here. Let's go," Belli took Pyra's hand and led her from the room.
"See ya at seven, Nat."

Pyra was dragged down the hall to their first class. Pre-Calculus. 'Yikes! I have no idea what I'm supposed to do!'
"Belli..? Is it really going to be that easy?" She asked as her new friend dragged her along.

((yeah, i'm geting better. now i just have to get the iv cath out of my hand and i can go back to school.))

"Don't worry, Py! This is going to be a blast. I will make sure it is easy for you. The thing you have to remember is that it's not all that different than Algebra. There is just more to it. No big. Just remember your factoring and how to graph and the rest comes with practice."
Belli suddenly stopped outside one of the random unmarked doors in the hall. She studied the door very carefully before placing her hand on it.
"I don't remember this door being here. I know all the doors and I have never seen it before." Belli looked at all the other doors in the hall. They were all identical and unmarked. She turned back to the door in front of her. "The wood. It's a different kind of wood than the other doors. I wonder what's behind it." Belli reached for the door knob to give a turn a reveal the secrets behind it.

Pyra tryed yet again to explain that she didn't know math. Then Belli stopped outside of the door. "How can you tell?" She asked. "It looks the same to me..." She was scared as Belli opened the door, so she fell to the floor throwing her hands over her head.
