"I'm leaving dad!" Jack yelled as he ran out of his house door, his dad didnt answer back when he was in his study working on different ways to scare people as the pumkin king. As he ran out of his house he wasnt looking at where he was running hoping not to be late again and accidently bumped into Sally, causing him to fall to the ground and holding his head. "Oh, I'm sorry--"
"You live there?" Sally asked reaching out a hand to help him up. It was odd that she had never remembered seeing him around here before. Course, she'd only been created two years ago. She smiled and helped him up. "Sorry, I should have been watching where I was going." She said with a small laugh.
Once Jack got up and noticed it was Sally inside he felt really hot, holding onto her hand and looking towards his house. "Yeah...but I dont usually go home...I usually stay on the spiral hill at the graveyard." he said with a softer smile then his grin. "No, no I was in a hurry to get to school worried about being late again...you dont need to apologize...it was my fault." he began to laugh a little bit with her, he had completely forgotten about asking Sally to the dance since he seemed a bit shy around her, he didnt really know why though.
Sally blushed and smiled. "I hang out there sometimes, I usually collect Deadly Nightshade from there." She said with a nervous laugh. She was silently wishing he would ask her to the dance, but she was no fool. She knew one of the Vampire sisters liked him. She was a Senior like them, but incredibly cute, and most of the guys at the school liked her.
Jack kept staring at Sally with his smile unknown about the time it was, suddenly his dad looked out the window and saw them. "JACK! What are you doing?! Get to school! your going to be late!" his father yelled at him from his study. He gasped as he realized what time it was, he turned to her and held onto her hand. "Sally..would youl l-like to walk to s-school with m-me?" he said with a little bit of a studder in his voice from being nervous around her.
Sally jumped when Jack's dad yelled out the window and looked at Jack. "S.S..Sure." She said with a shy smiled. She lifted her bag back onto her shoulder and waited for him to walk. She was so nervous about walking with him, she wasn't sure what to do or say.
As Jack and Sally walked towards the school he wasnt even sure what to say so he just said the first thing that came to his mind. "S-Sally....I-I'm sorry for how m-my dad yelled, he seemed to frighten you...." he said sadly looking at her with a slight little smile.
Sally smiled and let out a small laugh. "it's fine, I'm used to being scared, I live in Halloween town, pretty much part of the deal." She said with a smile. She started walking towards the school. "So...what are you wearing to the dance?" She asked looking down at her feet.
Jack eyes had suddenly widened a bit when he heard Sally talk about the dance, he started to remember from yesterday that he wanted to ask her out to the dance with him. He started to blush deeply and frowned a bit turning away a little. "I-I'm not sure.....I-I havent thought about it much." he studdered a little bit from being nervous and scared to even ask her out to the dance, since he was worried she wouldnt go with him, he didnt usually care for the dances really much since he never really found any girl in the school very attractive, that is until he met Sally.
"O..oh, I'm making my dress. My dad got me a bunch of fabric and some patterns, It's going to be black and with little tiny white pin stripes." She said proud of herself that she had already started on it and had almost finished it, she just had to decide on it having shoulder's or not. "I..I hear that Heather, the youngest vampire sister wants to ask you." She said as they entered the school grounds.
Once Jack had heard Sally talk about the dress in detail, his mind started to wander off, he could just imagine what she would look like in the dress, he closed his eyes and could see her in it. After a while he heard her talk about Heather wanting to ask him out, he looked back over to her as he stopped walking and letting her go ahead of him. "S-S-Sally?.....ummm....I-I'm not s-sure h-how to say this but........but would you go to the dance with m-me?" He asked nervously, standing still afraid that she might say 'no'.
Sally froze and she felt as if her jaw was about to fall off. Just to be sure she checked the strings. "S.s..seriously?" She asked turning around and staring at him. Her heart was beating out of control and she couldn't believe her ears. Surely she had miss heard him.
He looked at her straight into her eyes, and nodded. He began to walk up to her and stand right in front of her face, smiling softly. "Yes....I r-really want to go to the dance w-w-with you....what do you say?" he asked her seeming still studdering just the slightest bit. Like before, he never truly went to the dance with someone, the only reason he ever went was because he had to announce the queen and king of the night.
Sally looked up at him. "I.I.I'd love to go with you Jack." She said smiling and taking his hands in hers. She couldn't believe it, Jack Skelengton had just asked her to go to the dance with her. "W..We should head into the school, the bell is about to ring." She said not taking her eyes off him.
Jack blushed deeply when he had heard that Sally agreed to go with him to the dance, he was glad though, once he heard her talk about the bell ringing he smiled softly as he looked at her. "You dont need to worry.....I'm the student council president and your part of the group.....I'm allowed to give you a pass." he said as he walked inside with her completely forgetting he had a meeting with the staff members.
"Jack!" Greg yelled running up to them as they walked into the school. "Your late for the meeting with the Staff." He yelled grabbing Jack's arm. Sally smiled and waved to him and sped off to class, walking into the door right as the bell rang.
Before Jack had made it to the staff's meeting room he turned around towards Sally and smiled trying to let out a 'goodbye' but got too far. Once he reached the room, he cleared his throat and looked over to Greg. "Thanks Greg." he said with a soft smile, and walked in. "Hello, everyone...sorry I'm late." he said with a nervous little laugh, and went over to sit down. The princple had some things to discuss about the celebration coming up and the dance. "As we all know...The celebration for Halloween Town is coming up in a few weeks, now we have a little problem....It seems a group in our school wants to ruin it, we have to find them and stop them before its too late."
"Trying to ruin it? Who?" Greg asked sitting down. He was vice president of the council so he always went to meetings with Jack.
The principle looked over to Greg and shrugged his shoulders. "We dont know yet....we're still looking into it." he said as he started to cross his arms and lean back in his chair, Jack was looking down at the table and at the moment all he really could think about Sally. The principle looked over at him seeing as if he might know something when he didnt. "Jack! whats wrong?!" he yelled to get his attention, he looked over to him and smiled. "Huh? oh nothing...I just uh...wanted to have time to think...uh a-about who could the group leader be." he started laughing nervously but he was actually not thinking about it, but yet he was listening to everyone about what they were saying.
"What have they done so far? Just sent a letter? Or just some random gossip around school?" Greg asked writing some random names of who could possible try to end the celebration.
"This seemed to start with just a little gossip, but now I'm getting reports of children in class passing notes about this as well....I'm starting to get a bit worried." The principle said tapping his finger against his chin, Jack suddenly thought about the student council about how he kicked Oogie out, he could be him. "Sir! I think I know who it is!" everyone looked over to Jack as he stood up putting his hand on the table. "It has to be Oogie! I kicked him out of the student council a bit eariler when he tried to think of crazy ideas for our dance and celebration I was worried someone would agree with him...so I told him he was out."
Greg nodded and sighed. "He would do something like this. He's very vengeful. Just like his father." He said crossing out the names he had written. "Want me to stop him?" He asked pounding his fist into his hands with a grin. He liked beating up people when there was a good reason for it.
The principle raised his hand and flapped it downwards to Greg and Jack for them to calm down. "Greg...you may do that....but we have no proof of what Oogie had done...he can come back to me and say you had hurt him for no reason, and I cannot say that he had done anything because we have no proof...so just relax...and Jack, dont you think I thought about that already? but the thing is...Oogie is pretty smart for someone his age...he isnt one to give up so easily, and I know neither are you." He said to both of them, Jack nodded and sat back down, and twittled his thumbs. "Then what do we do?...we cant catch him if we dont know when he'll strike." Jack said looking at everyone in the room.
Greg growled and slumped back in his seat and crossed his arms. "We need to set up a watch to follow him. He's smart, but not that smart. You forget what he's made of." Greg countered with a smirk. He always made fun of Oogie for being just a sack of bugs. Course that new girl Sally, she was just a rag doll full of leaves and organs.
Sally sighed as the bell ran and headed to her next class, Halloweentown history. She stopped to get a drink and found herself face to face with a sack belly of Oogie. "U..Uh, Oogie right?" She asked taking a step back. "Yes, I want to ask you something." He said leaning against the wall. "Umm..I need to head to class." She said walking past him and heading to class. He grabbed her arm and pulled her back to him. "No, you need to come with me and talk to my friends." He said pulling her into an empty class room and locking the door. Carly was sitting there, and the vampire brothers and even Heather. |
The principle looked over around the room, knowing that what Greg had said was true, but who. "Who could stay with him that long? Greg....I'm sorry but even I dont trust you spying on him without getting yourself a bit too excited to hurt him." The other staff members all nodded agreeing with him. "Well...Jack? you want to do it?" he turned over looking at him, as he gasped listening to the principle wanting him to do. "Wait what!? Why me?!" Suddenly one of the staff members, the janitor got up and pointed towards Jack. "He cant do it! just look at him! He too tall! I vote I should spy on Oogie!" The principle put his chin back onto his hands and looked over at the janitor. "No...Oogie will suspect something if an adult is following him...Jack is tall giving him an advantage to spy on him from afar, and even if he gets caught his long legs should help him run away, quick enough.."
