"Dont worry Sally, he wont find out...and If he does I'll be there to help you...I promise." he said with a joyful smile and touched her cheek softly. "Besides if he finds out in school, he'll never hurt you...It seems like on school grounds Oogie changes his violent mood to another one which seemed gentle...I would think be the word for it." he said with a little laugh, and held onto her hand again. "Come on, lets go home."

Sally nodded and dropped his hand. "Okay, I fell a little safer now." She said with a slightly blush on her face. She liked being with Jack, he was really sweet, and kind. He was what all the girls in school wanted as a boyfriend, to bad they weren't dating. They were just friends.

Jack smiled as he started to walk ahead of her for a moment, he turned around as he got to the school grounds gates. "Sally! are you coming?" he asked from afar towards her and waved his arm, Jack really seemed to like her alot more then any other girl in the school since it seemed as if that many of the girls in the school to him seemed to be too 'cheerful'.

Sally nodded and ran towards him. "Sorry, must have spaced out." She said smiling, but her smile quickly faded as she saw her father waiting for her at the school gates in his rickety old hearse. "Sally! I came to give you and your little friend a ride home." He said waving as he saw them. She sighed and hid her face behind her hand and shook her head.

Jack turned towards Dr. Fraken, Sally's father. He was wondering what he was talking about giving them a ride home. They didnt even live that far from the school though, he looked back over to Sally and gave her a slight soft smile. "Sally? are you embarassed?" he said gently as he held onto her hand that was covering her face. "Dont worry....I know how you feel.....my dad did this alot too.....dads are so annoying.." he said with a joyful little laugh.

Sally sighed and pulled her hand away, she watched as a lot of the other kids looked at her fathers car and laughed at them. "Yes I'm embarressed, look at that thing." She said pointing at the old car. She felt a little better with him holding her hand and climbed in. "Thanks dad." She said quietly as she sunk down in her seat.

Sally's father looked out of the car and towards Jack wondering why he was just standing there. "Jack? you want a ride too?" he asked as he sat in the car, he looked around at everyone laughing and thought Sally would feel even worst if she was alone. Jack nodded and climbed into the car with her, sitting next to her, some of the kids went slient seeing that Jack, the student council president was taking a car like that home, rather then wanting to walk as he usually did.

Sally felt a little better when Jack got in and sighed. "Thanks dad." She muttered setting her bag by her feet. She sighed and looked over at jack with a smile. "Thanks." She whispered as her father pulled out and the car took of puttering loudly.

On the way home, Jack looked over to Sally, her father turned around and looked at him before he could say anything. "So Jack....when do you need those fireworks? I have them ready." he said as he looked back forward, Jack sat there thinking of when would be a good time. "Hmm....The day before the celebration of halloween town would be nice." he said with a soft smile, then Dr. Fraken nodded as now he knew when to give them.

"Yeah, he's got some talking pumkins too. Pretty creepy." Sally said with a smile. She watched as they drove to Jacks house and her dad stopped the car. Jack's dad stood on the front porch looking down, he gave her the creeps just looking at him. "Bye Jack." She said waving a little.

Before Jack walked over to his house, he walked back up to the car window and gave Sally a kiss on the cheek. "I'll see you tomorrow, Sally." he said with a soft smile and walked away towards his house, where his father had just seen that happen.

"Did he just...." Sally asked placing a hand on her cheek. "Yes, that was your first kiss." Dr. Franken said with a bit of an anger in his face, he started the car and drove back to the cemetery where he needed to get some spare parts. Sally stayed in the car thinking about what just happened.

Jack walked back into his house and noticed his father wasnt in his study but sitting in the living room looking at him with a glare. "What was that just now?" He asked his own son seeming a bit angry. "What?.....oh.....the kiss?...uhm.." he just stood there looking at the floor and wouldnt look into his father's dark eyes, neither of them said anything thinking the other would say something first.

Sally still had a bit of a smile as they returned home. "How does a batch of snake and spider stew sound dad?" She asked happily as she jumped out of the hearse at her own house. "That's sounds fine, I'll be in the lab." He said smiling. Sally smiled and skipped into the house and started making the stew while smiling. She had never been kissed before, and right now her heart was singing and felt as light as a feather.

After staring at his father for a while Jack didnt say anything and just walked away from him. His father didnt say anything or look at him as he walked away. He walked to his room and laid on the bed closing his eyes, he felt so relived that he was able to kiss Sally after all this time, even if it was only on the cheek.

Once dinner was done Sally brought a bowl to her father in the lab. "Smells great, oh you added frogs breath to it, wonderful." He said taking a wiff. Sally smiled and handed him a spoon. He took a spoonful, and with in seconds was fast asleep. Sally ran up to her room and grabbed the basket she had made Jack, She filled it with some candied spider legs, a bottle of her soup, and some salamander cakes. Running down stairs she ran to below his bedroom window and threw a rock up at it, then tieing the basket to a rope and pully, she pulled it up to his window.

Jack heard the little pebbles hitting against his window and looked over towards it. He walked over towards it and opened it, seeing a basket of food in front of them he gasped, looking down he saw Sally standing there. "Sally? what are you doing here, this late at night?" he tried to keep his own voice down so his father wouldnt hear.

"I wanted to let you know for sure that I'm on your side." She said with a smile. She tied the rope and walked away as he pulled the basket inside, but hid by the wall so she could still see inside hit window.

Jack brought the basket over to his bed and unwrapped it all, seeing all the food his eyes widened in shock. "Wow! candied spider legs? salamander cakes?....huh? whats this?" He grabbed the bottle of Sally's soup not knowing it was soup until he smelled the sweet sweet aroma of it. "Oh its soup! mmm I need to get a bowel-- forget it! I'm straving!" Jack said to himself as he just started eating it from the bottle, he had left up to his room without eating dinner so he was dying for any kind of food.

Smiling Sally turned and returned home, only to be stopped by a dark shadow that stepped in front of her. "Hello Sally. Oogie wants to talk to you." One of the vampire brothers said swooping her up in his cloak and running off. "JACK!" She yelled before she was to far away.

Hearing Sally scream Jack had almost upchucked all of the soup he was eating, he ran straight for the window and looked outside. Unable to see anything in the darkness he didnt know what to do. "Well I cant just stay here..." he said to himself and looked down at how high he was up, and gulped from the height. "Here goes nothing." he jumped out of the window and landed on both his feet that just shivered up his spine in pain, he quickly shook it off and ran for the direction he had heard Sally scream from.

The Vampire took Sally out to Oogie's tree house where Oogie sat waiting. "Sally, how nice of you to join us, now we've heard and seen some troublesome things. It seems your double crossing us for the future Pumpkin king. Is this true?" He asked as the Vampire brother kept her locked in his arms. Sally opened her mouth to speak but couldn't find any words.

Jack kept running forward and soon ended up at Oogie's tree house. "I wonder if thats where Sally was taken...Sally?! you up there!?" he yelled up there at the top of his lungs, suddenly Oogie looked over towards his little window and saw him. "Guess we were right...you did, didnt you, Sally?" he asked her as he looked down at Jack.

Sally covered her mouth and shook her head yes as she cried. She closed her eyes and waited to be hit, or killed, or what ever Oogie had planned. "JACK RUN!" She yelled finally.

After hearing his name being blurted out Jack gasped and looked straight up to the tree house. Oogie was shocked to see why Sally had just yelled that out, and slapped her to the floor. "How dare you?!" he yelled angrily at her. Jack began to climb up into the tree house as quickly as he could until he got up, he saw Sally on the floor and ran over to kneel by her side. "Sally! are you okay?!"
