Bekki chewed on her lip for a second then her eyes flashed as she looked down at Marshall. "Do you have...a pair of jeans and a plain T-shirt?" She asked. Marshall thought for a moment then smiled. "Yes." He said producing them from one of his bags. "Okay, Mr. Ray, is going to take you to your room to put away your bags, and then we'll take you to the fair after you change. But you have to promise to stay by our side." She said sternly. She looked up at Balthazar and nodded towards his bags. -By the way, your the one who looks like a weirdo bald biker, I look stunning.- She whispered to him letting a bit of her old self sink through. -Sorry sir, that was uncalled for.- She added looking down.
Balthazar was silent walking up with marshall to the elevator, -Theres the bekki i fell inlove with.-he thought as the elevator doors closed. as tehy went up stairs he looked at marshal, and his heart twanged with pain, he imagined what their kid would have looked at that age, and he was a spitting image. finally they reached teh room, and he told marshal to change and he too changed into a tight fitting shirt with jeans, making him look like a weightlifter. he slipped a knife into one of his pockets, and him and mashall walked back down to the elevator, when they reached the bottom they stepped out waiting for bekki.
Bekki had felt her heart jump when Balthazar said that. Keeping her face emotionless as he walked to the elevator she fell back into one of the chairs and hid her face in her hands. She was glad the chair was far away from the front of the Lobby which was rather busy since it was around 8 o'clock at night and late comers were checking in. -God this is so Hard, I.i.i don't know if I can handle this...If there is a god, please help me right now.- She prayed for the first time in her life. Hearing the chime of the elevator she stood up and leaned back against the wall, trying to keep her cool, although she didn't notice the tear sitting on her cheek.
balthazar walked out of the elevator looking for teh blue haired bekki, finally finding her he walked over to bekki, "So are we acting like a family or just a few people?" he asked brushing a tear away from bekki's cheek. -Dont get a wrong idea.- he thought trying to make it sound like he meant it, though he wanted her to so badly. He slipped his hand in hers, "So you ready to take the kid to the fair?" he asked smiling as he ruffled mashals hair.
"I was thinking Married couple..." Bekki said closing her eyes as she felt the warmth of his fingers on her face. Sighing she looked down at his hand and fought a smile as the familiar feeling of her stomach flipping and heart jumping out of her chest seemed to calm her down. Marshall smiled as Balthazar ruffled his hair and gently pushed his hand away like any kid would do. "So Mom and Dad? I never knew my Mom and Dad, this should be fun." He said as Bekki bit her lip hearing him calling her Mom. It was funny how much he looked like Balthazar, mentally slapping herself she grabbed the keys to her bike and sighed. "Do you have a car or something? I'm not sure all of us will fit on my Bike..." She said dropping her eyes.
Balthazar looked at her hand bringing it up to his lips and kissing the ring, "A married couple it is." he said smiling. "Well Mom, ive got a car." he said as they walked out of the hotel to the parking lot. he walked letting the car beep it was a restored 1967 Ford mustang, and it was supercharged. He smiled as he opened the door letting marshal into the back seat before stepping into the car himself.
Bekki fought to keep her face emotionless as he kissed her hand and ring, but failed miserably. Hope and love flooded her face but she quickly locked it away and followed him outside holding onto Marshall's hand and then helping him into the car. She stood looking at it and whistled. "Wow, nice car." She muttered getting in a buckling in. "You two are clearly in love...yet I can tell you are not together...Was there a fight?" Marshall asked looking at Balthazar's face in the rear-view mirror. Bekki's breath caught in her throat and coughed. "Umm...We had a.a.a...unfortunate death, and it separated us..But our relationship isn't important, your more important Marshall." She said wiping a single tear away as she thought about the unborn child she had buried three months ago.
"Thanks about the car, tony didnt let me bring it when i was protecting you," he said looking at bekki, "then he looked in the rearview mirror at marshal, "Its easy to forget your not a kid marshal" he said, "but we fought and it cost us our baby, it was my fault so i left." he said taking responsibility for what happened, "Now lets go to the fair." he said smiling holding back that sorrow he knew. he started the car as it roared to life, Then backing up he turned put the car in forward gear and started driving to the fair, his ring evident when ever he swtiched gears in the light. finally arriving he parked the car getting out and letting marshal out as he looked up and saw it was getting dark. -A Fair at night, this should be fun.- he thouhgt looking at bekki.
"It wasn't his fault, I fell down a flight of stars, and I started the fight." She added as they drove. She caught the sight of his ring and smiled as she played with her own. Sighing she closed her eyes and opened them as she heard the screams of the Fair. "Some people say I act like a child quite often." Marshall said as he was let out of the car. Bekki nodded and got out. She smiled at Balthazar and sighed. -Tons...- she thought weakly, she wanted to say more...so much more, but she couldn't quite find the words. She took Marshall's hand then Balthazar's and lead the way into the fair. She paid for the tickets and lead the boys inside. Right as they got past the entrance a Photographer popped up. "Aww, what a cute family. How about one of the parents kissed and holding the child?" He asked smiling. "Sounds fun." Marshall said grabbing Bekki and Balthazar's hands and lacing both of them together, he stood in the middle of the two and looked up. "Now kiss for the picture." He ordered. Bekki blinked unsure of how this had happened. She looked up at Balthazar her mouth open slightly and bit her lip. -The kid is in charge.- She whispered looking down. "Now." Marshall added in a whisper that sounded laced with venom.
Balthazar smiled to the lady at the counter as she looked at the "family" and smiled, as they walked in the photographer made balthazar uneasy. he wasnt used to having to play a family, so he didnt know what to do so he shot a look at the photographer and the heard marshall's demand, looking at bekki. -Ok lets do this for the job, for the picture, I hope the women i love is in there somewhere.- he stressed for the picture hard, adding the last bit in his head forgetting bekki could hear him. then he leaned in kissing her, with a little more feeling then he had intended to do. after the picture he dropped bekki's hand and he grabbed marshall throwing him on his shoulders, "So 'Son' Where do you want to hit first?" he said smiling.
-She is...Somewhere.- She thought softly as she closed her eyes. Sighing and kept her eyes shut for a few seconds after the kiss. Her lips were still tingling, and she was slightly shaking. Smiling as he picked up Marshall she stuck her hands in her pocket, feeling a pack of cigarettes and lighter in one of them. They weren't hers, but she had shoved them in the her pocket during her last training session for her friend James and had forgotten to give them back. She walked over to a trashcan and tossed them in it then walked back to Balthazar and Marshall. "I want to ride that one." Marshall said pointing at the biggest Roller-coaster in the fair. Bekki already felt sick just looking at it. "Balthazar, you take him on it, I'll watch make sure no one messes with the ride from down here." She said sternly. "No. I want to ride alone." Marshall said squirming in Balthazar's hands.
Balthazar looked at her as she threw the cigarettes away, -So your smoking now too?- he said looking at her just as marshall started to squirm. "Marshall, your to small for that ride alone, you know that." he said holding marshall firm. "And stop squirming, if you want to use the cover of us as a family, you have to act like one." he said giving a stern look to him over his head. Balthazar and marshall eventually got on the ride and as they got off balthazar looked slightly sick, "Hun you take him on the next one.... our boy is a hassle." he said looking at her as he put his arm around her.
"No, they were my friend James, I held them for him during Training inspection, and forgot I had them. I can't stand the smell of them." She said then watched the ride as Marshall dragged Balthazar on the ride. She let out a soft chuckle, and maybe a half a smile as she saw Balthazar's face as they got off. "Like his father." She said as she noticed another couple looking at them. She kissed his cheek then allowed Marshall to drag her off to a swing ride that spun around fast. After that ride Bekki was ready to call it quits, but Marshall dragged her to another ride called Zooming Rockets that Spun around fast and went upside down. Closing her eyes, Bekki leaned against a light-pole as she tried to settle her stomach. "No more for me, Son." She whispered weakly.
Balthazar had finally recovered when bekki got of the 2nd ride with marshall, "Ok who wants some food? im thinking hotdogs, pizza, ribs. good old american food." he said smiling as he absent mindedly put his hand around bekki's waist. Then he walked up to a booth ordering quiet a bit of food, after he had payed they all sat down on a bench, though he still had his hand around bekki's waist and he was holding her close.
Bekki ordered just a cheese burger and sat down next to Balthazar feeling his hand on her waist. She smiled slightly but forced it back as Marshall kept looking at the two of them. Over the sound of the screams and laughter speakers were playing music, Suddenly 'Here without you.' By Nickleback came on and Bekki looked down sadly at her food. This song made made her think of her and Balthazar for some reason. Taking small bites she kept her gaze down and tried not to allow the tears in her eyes to leak out. She reached down with one hand and gently rubbed his hand with her own.
With out knowing why he did it, when bekki rubbed his hand he interlaced his fingers in hers and pulled her closer. he missed that feeling of having her close, but the whole time he kept his eyes on marshall. he randomly started to sing along with the song, as he let marshall choose random foods out of what he had bought. he took a deep breath breatheing her in as he sighed remembering their past. He looked at marshall, "So what are we guarding you for?" he said as he held her close.
"I'm suppose to speak out on the current situation of Vampires keeping Werewolves as Pets, not as bodyguards. You two are to guard me and take me to the conference." He said choosing Pizza and a coke. Bekki rested her head on Balthazar's shoulder, slowly but surely. She looked at his hand wrapped around hers and closed her eyes as she listened to him hum along to the song. "Where is the conference? When is it?" She asked keeping her eyes closed as she breathed in Balthazar's scent. She had missed being close to him so much. -I've missed you- She whispered to him softly. "Tomorrow, at the hotel." Marshall said with a small smile as he looked at the two.
-Bekki, we cant get to comfertable.- though his words betrayed his love for her still. He looked at marshall's smile, "Son your supposed to think affection is something very gross." he said. then he smiled as a another couple passed by, and it made his heart hurt, as he saw how they acted. "So we only have to protect you till the seminar right?" he said trying to make it so he did sound to hopeful, becuase it was killing him being this close to her.
"Yes, Tomorrow at 8. I'll be asleep during the day, so I don't care what you to do, just make sure your in my room around 6." He said then made a disgusted look and stuck his tongue out at Balthazar. Bekki let out a small laugh at that and a real smile found it's way on her face, but she let go of Balthazar's hand and sat up. -I know, and I hate it.- She thought to him as she tossed her half eaten hamburger in the trashcan behind her. "Anymore rides?" She asked smiling weakly at Marshall and stealing one of Balthazar's fries.. "Just the Farris wheel, and you both have to ride." Marshall said finishing his pizza.
Balthazar looked at marshal, "The faires wheel? ok.. all threee of us have to be in the same cart." he said looking at him, then at bekki. "As he stood and they all walked to the faires wheel, as the all got in he places marshall inthe middle of him and bekki, though he had a talk with the operater as he walked by. They started around and when it reached the top it stopped suddenly, he kissed bekki passionatly, slipping the ring he left for her along time ago from bekki's hand. "Bekki..... I cant promise i will be there every day i cant promise i will stay with you all the time with out blaming myself, but... will you marry me?" he asked looking at her a world of hope in his eyes.
Bekki followed keeping a hand on Marshall's then she slipped into the side of the cart, then Balthazar placed Marshall next to her. She watched confused as he leaned in and whispered to the operator then got in. She didn't say anything, but looked around scanning for anyone suspicious.. The cart was pretty big, and the seats went all the way around in a circle and were covered, but the middle had only a few inches of walking area and then had a rail so no one would fall. As Balthazar leaned over and kissed her, her heart beat out of control and she returned the kiss, trying not to crush Marshall. She felt him slip her ring off, and she felt sudden dread. Then she heard him ask her to marry her and tears sprang up in her eyes. "Yes! Oh God Yes!" She cried as she switched seats with Marshall, who showed no objection, just smiled widely and buckled himself in where Bekki had been sitting as she wrapped her arms around Balthazar. "Well...My job is done here." Marshall said in a deep voice. Bekki stopped kissing Balthazar and stared at him. "What?" She asked confused. "Vojo hired me, I'm an elf. He hired me to help you two get back together, and it worked. So I'll be leaving the hotel tonight, but you and Balthazar are free to stay for a few more days. You both could use a break." Marshall said with another laugh. He pulled the caps off his ears to reveal the pointy tips of them and smiled widely.
Balthazar looked at the elf and grimiced, "Im going to kill vojo." he said looking at bekki. "Now please tell me we can die your hair or get that blue out of it..... I want my bekki no one else." then he leaned in kissing her again. As the wheel reached the bottom marshall got out and smiled at the conductor, "Once more around" he said as he walked away. Balthazar looked at bekki as they went around again, "So howww.... crazy are you when you have a wedding to plan? like should i do a few jobs so i dont have to get in your way orrr... do i need to stay?" he said giving her a look.
"It washes out, Vojo told me to die and lie about to when ever someone asks, it will wash out if I really sit their and wash it really hard, so your going to have to help me. And I don't know, I've never had a wedding to plan. God, Balthazar you have no idea how hard this was to me, not to just jump your bones when we were standing in that hotel room...I locked myself away after...It doesn't matter, but now I'm so happy again." She said kissing his cheek and snuggling up to him. "That Vojo is a real number isn't he?" She asked as she let her smile pop out again.
"Good... i might have to take it back, if your hair didnt wash out." he said joking, "Vojo will get a piece of my mind, when we get back." he said glaring into no where. "You have to have a best friend or someone to help you plan the wedding.. and dont worry ill keep working and leave you alone to plan it just tell me a day and ill be there." he said smiling at her before he kissed her again, passionatly leaning her against the back of the cart. then the ride stopped and he stepped out looking at her, "coming or do you want to go around alone."
Bekki stepped out with him, her stomach and heart still doing back flips. "I don't really have any friends...Other then James...but he's married." She said taking his hand. "And if you'd take it back over this stupid hair color, I'll just walk away now." She said dropping his hand and walking a little faster, she stopped smiled then turned around and ran to him, wrapped her arms around him and kissed him passionately. "Don't leave, ever again." She whispered as she came up for breath. -Please.- She added looking into his eyes.
