Alan walked down the street of the new town he had just entered. He didn't like to stay anywhere to long since he knew that if he did he would only cause trouble. He had learned that a while ago and it was one of the reasons he left his school. He was glad to be away from there since no one really understood him but it was still lonely. He had always been lonely since his parents had died when he was young. He had been raised by the principle but he had to leave after he found out what was the matter with him. No one knew why he did since he was hte only one and now that he had no where to go he just wondered. Thundered crackled in the clouds overhead and rain started to pore as if on cue as he thought of his depressing life. He sighed and just pulled his cloak tighter around him as he walked.

lava-may smiled at the grocery-man and walked out with her bag of apples in her hand. it started raining and she growled. "stupid weather..." she said under her breath, pulling her hood up and putting the bag in her large cloak's pocket. she turned a corner and continued walking while chewing on her apple. turning another corner, and then another, she lost her path and looked around as the rain continued. "well...this will be something to laugh at when im old..." she muttered grimly to herself. she flicked her index finger at a nearby stray cat and watched unimpressed when it began to talk to her. its voice was withered and grumpy. "...and thats another thing my food is always cheap and..." laly coughed loudly getting its attention. "which way is lumberton circle in?" she asked it directly. the cat meowed then shivered its white fur. "down two blocks then to your left, witch." laly flicked her finger again, thanking him while ignoring the "witch" comment, then began walking where he had told her.

Alan sighed as he sat down at a random place since his feet where tired. He had been walkingn all day and his feet where shot. he sighed as he listend to teh rain come down more and just listend to the house of everything. As he sat there and looked around had no idea where he was in this town. It was the first time he was here and he had no friends here, just how he liked it. He then heard foot steps in the distance and wondered who was out now in this kind if rain besides him.

lavy rounded the corner that was specified and continued down the path. she noticed a man sitting on the ground and frowned. she slowly made her way to him and stopped when she got to him. she couldnt bring herself to turn a blind eye to a person in the rain. "homeless dude?" she asked reaching into her cloak and pulling out an apple. "you hungry?" she asked, holding it out to him.

Alan looked up and then smiled when he saw the apple, "thanks." he said as he took the apple and bit into it. "and I am not homeless, I just chose to not have a home and enjoy the surroundings." he said as he bit into the appel again. This wasn't hte first time he was mistaken for a homeless guy and said the same thing to them. But each time he got a different response so he wondered what she would say to him.

"that is understandable..." she agreed in thought, and bit into her own apple as well. "so what are you traveling to, if i may ask?" she asked, sitting down next to him. she threw the core of the apple onto the ground next to them when she was done and looked at her pocket watch. she was due back to her aunt's home in a few minutes, but if she used her time spell, she could get home in time.

Alan sighed as he bit into his apple again, she was the first one to ask where he was headed. "I am headed to who know where and that Is how I like it.' he saida s he looked at her. "I dont like staying at one place for to long and I like to travel since I get to see things so really I have no destination." he said as he looked at her and some of that was true but not all of it.

laly shrugged. "okay." she didnt know if he was lying or telling the truth, but it wasnt any of her buisness anyways so she butted out. "got anywhere to stay now?" she asked, curiously, but obviously knew the answer if he was out in the rain on a gloomy filled day.

Alan shook his head, "nope, got no where to stay." he said as he looked up into the sky and the rain was starting to lighten up just like him mood. That was always how it worked with him and the weather. But now that he was talking to this girl she seemed nice and that was lightning up his moomd. He then looked at her, "by the way the name is Alan." he said as he held out his hand to her.

laly smiled and nodded, looking at his hand. "you can call me laly." she said taking his hadn in hers and shaking it. she pulled her hand back and looked at the sky. the rain had almost completely stopped now. she stod up and stretched. "want a place to sleep tonight? my aunt and i always have an extra futon in you need one."

Alan looked at her slightly surprised, no one ever offered him a place to sleep. He then smiled a little bit and nodded, "sounds good." he said as he got to his feet and looked at her, "in truth I dont remember the last time I had a bed or futon to sleep on." he said as he looked at her and then realized how much of a mess he looked. But he didnt' really care, if he was ment to be clean he would just use his magic to do it.

laly looked him over and shrugged. "we have a shower too..." she said, grinning to herself. it was easy for her to look clean and tidy since she used spells for that. she looked over her shoulder and pointing in the direction she remembered the cat telling her she should go. "my aunt's house is that way." she looked back at him and dropped her hand, offering it out to him. "coming?" she smiled.

Alan smiled and took her hand, "coming." he said as he got to his feet and smiled at her. "lead the way." he said as he let go of her hand and motioned for her to show the way. THe clouds where starting to break up now and light streamed threw the clouds.

laly nodded and smiled up at the sky as the clouds finally cleared. she looked at him once more and shrugged. what could happen? she thought. she began walking and soon found her aunts small apartment tucked behind the corner of a tattoo shop and another set of apartments. she smiled and sighed. home sweet home. she thought, walking up to the front door and looking back to see if alan was following.

Alan followed her worlessly to the little apartment and smiled. It was nice in his eyes, anything that wasn't outside was like some kind of palace to him. He then looked at her, "I like your place." he said with a smile and wondered what the inside would look like.

"if you like the outside you will love the inside." she grinned and guided the way inside the apartment. all around the house was decorated with spiraling swirls of black ink on the walls and ancient witch's stuff cluttered in the corners of all the rooms. most humans would think they were just occult lovers, which was pretty naive since they were something much greater, and tehy would never know. laly walked to a couch and took off her cloak, setting it on top of a pile of spell books, so he wouldnt see. "well?" she asked.

Alan smiled as he looked around and could feel the magic in the air. He took a deep breath and smiled to himself. "I like it." he said as he looked over at her. As he walked further into hte house he ran a hand against the wall. The ink was laced with small bits of magic that made his fingers tingle. He then looked over at her, "your house is very unique and I like it."

"thank you." she said as she followed him. she made sure he didnt go into the spell room, where magic was practicly like air in there. she pointed to a room opposite of it and smiled, that is where you will sleep if you want." she said as she opened the door to the room and scrummaged around in its closet. she pulled out a futon and a quilt and set them on the floor. "we dont have pillows in this house, im sorry if that is an inconvinience." she said as she stood back up.

Alan smiled at her and pulled off his cloak. His black hair was completely try and you could hardly tell where his pupils where in his black eyes. "dont worry about it. I can deal without a pillow since I have hardly ever used one." he said as he smiled at her as he folded his cloak and put it down next to him. "and thank you for taking me in." he said and could hardly tell her how greatfull he was.

"it was no problem. but if you hear some old lady snoring, please dont worry, its my aunt." she laughed. he looked like someone she had met before when he took off his cloak, but she didnt say anything about it since most of the people she knew were magicians and she wasnt sure about her memory. she walked to the door. "i am in the room to your right. if you need me, im there." she grinned.

Alan smiled at her and nodded, "okay, but I think I have everything I need." he said as he patted a small bag that he had that was slugn across his shoudler. YOu couldn't of seen it when he was wearing his cloak on but now you could. He then sset the bag down and smiled at her.
