"Which direction is Northwest?" there was a pause, then she realized how dumb it sounded; at least to her it did. "I never bothered using a compass... but all he said was it was Northwest." Sakyo groaned then growled, smacking herself in the forehead. "I should have asked him before he flew off..." Her mission had barely started and it seemed it was already going to cease. Could she even save her father? Would this woman grant her wish and bring him back to her? She hated thinking about it, but the thoughts wouldn't leave her mind like a festering, infected, pussy wound that refused to go away. Knowing how terrible her father was now broke her heart; a part of her felt empty. How she wished there was love in his embrace, but there was nothing. What if... this woman won't change him back...? What if he's that way forever? she massaged her temples, trying to gather her thoughts together. |

Elan snorted when Aponi looked at her, and tossed her mane. It was as if she was making the a gesture that was equal to someone shrugging their shoulders. Izaya did his part to lead Aponi right to the frightened, anti-social Emilia by flying from branch to branch, rustling his wings and spreading them so that they brushed the leaves. Eventually the hawk settled in the branches high above the tree that Emilia had decided to rest in.
With a shaky breath, Emilia looked up at Aponi through her curtain of wild brown hair. It bothered her that this lady in front of her knew her name, yet the tone of Aponi's voice could not go ignored. Emily kept her mouth shut instead of questioning the girl, and listened carefully, although she had to advert eye contact entirely. Never had she really heard such sincerity in an apology... Who was this lady in front of her to speak with so much compelling emotion. A deep breath was taken in, before Emilia trusted herself and Aponi enough to reach her hand forward and take the extended hand. It was a shocking moment in her own mind, the contact, the silent acceptance of Aponi's apology in her own eyes even though she didn't say it out loud. "...Aponi.." Realizing her hand felt cold even to herself, she drew it back, and clenched it, water falling from her fist. She was still inexperienced with her own element and didn't know when it would take effect. So she drew her hands close to her chest, the two girls looked far too similar. "....Puh puhlease forgive me... I... I-I.." She couldn't find the words and just shook her head and dropped her eyes back to the ground. Izaya and Chester kept quiet and to themselves. Perhaps for Emilia's sake, so that she could learn to interact with the other chosen. "Aponi.. Y-You.. I g-go by Emily... too.." A soft smile was offered before she pushed her hair over her shoulder, revealing more of her fretful looking face. Then she cast her eyes to the ground again. "I-I.. should ap-p-pologize t-to Nana... a-and...Crim.. ....Shouldn't I?" In the forbidden forest, outside of Lilia was something strange going on to the people of the city. It made the suspicious even more afraid of the forest, for when had lightening risen from the ground instead of falling from the dark clouds in the sky? Kamrin had no business with balancing out the good and bad of the world, there was no one he was attached to enough to care about restoring the balance. Besides, how long was the balance out of whack anyway? Wasn't everyone living just fine, without fear of what 'dark forces' there were? "Hyaa!!" Throwing a punch towards the South, a bolt of lightning flew down his arm and crashed through the forest, singing the bark of several trees, and turning the grass brown with it's sizzling heat. Even though he had no intention of following the goddess or any other faction, the powers he had been offered were too good to ignore. Since he activated his element, he had been trying to find that peaceful feeling once again... The feeling of connection with every living thing within the area... The feeling that he wasn't so alone and different from the world. "Fuckit," He shook his fist, the feeling of immense power the flowed through him whenever he used the destructive side of his ability was exhilarating and tiring at the same time... It left his hand with the tingling sensation of falling asleep. "Mayhaps I'm jus' not supposta figger it out..." With a grunt he sat on a fallen log, and stared at the burnt section of forest, lighting a tobacco stick with a match in his pocket. ((Technically, it's tomorrow.. =D My friend let me have control of the laptop whilst everyone else slept, so I decided to post.. )) |

---------- Raphael looked over their surroundings for only a brief moment before pulling out a compass. He didn't normally use it because he ordinarily didn't follow a specific direction. There was no ponit when you had no where you needed to go, and this way where ever he'd end up would be a surprise. The arrow spun until it indicated north, and after, Raphael put it away. "Like I said before, I don't give a damn about this... whatever it is. It doesn't make a difference to me on whether this world is saved or comes to an end.... I have no place in it...." He turned away from her. "And stop trying to hide it, you're doing a poor job of it. It's clear to me that you are frustrated, and it's ridiculous to try to hide something as small as a few tears. It makes you seem more fragile, and I know you are anything but." He took a few steps forward. "Are you coming?" He didn't care if Sakyo cried, she had already proven to him that she was strong, nothing would change that for him. And as for this quest she was on, he prefered to help her than to help any of the other sides. They had nothing to offer him, and he felt like he needed to be with her. Raphael knew at least part of the reason why too. He didn't completely approve it, but he was content with it, for the moment at least. Sometimes the spirit of the wolf weighed to much on him, and as much as he tried to escape it, it was a gainless struggle. Even though he was miles upon miles away from his clan, Alcmene's influence still lingered with him. Which meant she must believe him to still be apart of her lineage. |

There was a scowl on her face as she spoke, but she didn't feel a need to comment on most of what he said. Sly had told her numerous times that tears were not a sign of weakness when she was growing up with her, yet that idea stayed in her mind either way. Besides, to her, crying felt terrible. Not only did it cause her eyes to hurt, but it made her face wet, neither were appreciated. Besides... children cried. Her face softened when he said she was anything but fragile. |

Raphael sped up with Sakyo, meeting her pace as normal, however his pace for brief second sunk below hers she spoke. He was for the first time hesitant on answering such a question. "The only thing that I ask of in life is that, if I should die, I should die by a might equal to mine...." He felt that was a good enough gain from life. There was nothing else that he could think of that would be worth as much to him. That one little thing, for him, would mean that his life had had purpose, even if that purpose was to die. His head went down, and a soft growl escaped his lips. His eyes then drifted up to the tree tops. "It is ridiculous to live off of my own motives, when I have no real path to follow. To follow you instead of them, is far less so. I have said before that I felt the need to be with you, but I have yet to give you that reason. A reason that makes hardly any sense to me even." He sighed. "I follow you because that's what my kind does outta of strange reasons of loyalty. It is involuntarily, but even with this I find that there is also an interest I have in you, and the path you choose. " |
A soft chuckle and a head shake was her response to the first statement that came out of her companion. "Death has yet to cross my mind... There's no point in wasting life on such a thing." She shrugged then went silent, allowing Raphael to finish what he had to say before further commenting, since it was her who asked the question in the first place. In truth, she had no idea what he meant. Why someone would choose to be loyal to her of all people was beyond her, most people avoided even speaking to her once they found out she was an assassin, but Raphael still had no idea about her occupation. |

Aponi went out of her way to stare Emily directly in the eye through their respective hairs. Tucking her back behind her head, she sighed softly. She was so awkward right now. You can only so much by watching, the rest is trial and error. She wondered how much error she had to make before she had a better clue. She looked up at the branches where Izaya sat and smiled genuinely in thanks. When she heard her name said out loud, she felt like a deep, dark weight had fallen off her body. She could breathe again. Her hand instinctively held onto Emily's hand tightly before she drew it away, cold and wet or not. A light blush broke out across her dark skin, but it was basically impossible to see. "Thank you.. For accepting me." Her blush darkened considerably. That sounded too forth right. It was now obvious where her cheeks were darker than the rest. "My apology, I mean to say." When Emily pulled her hand away, Aponi made a soft squeak of sadness without even realizing it. She watched as the water dribbled off it with intriguing, rather than staring at her like she was a freak. As she approached the girl, slowly so as to not startle her again, she reached into her hip pouch and pulled out a handkerchief. Gently she pried the dripping hand free and wiped it dry. "Forgiveness is not needed, but should you need it, you have it from me." She touched a hand to her heart and then gestured towards Emily's. "From one beating heart to another." As Emily started hiding her eyes from her, she angled with her head to look up into them, smiling warm. They were an affectionate brown right now. "I don't know about apologizing. They just want to know you're okay from what I could tell. Perhaps the best you could do is just rejoin the group with me." She offered her hand again, her plain normal hand. She fidgetted slightly though as she did so. "For what it's worth, I admire your bravery.. To say your name.." She exhaled softly. She was scared shitless, and she knew it, and she hated it with every fiber of her being. Makael came towards the edge of the forest where everyone, or he guessed the majority, of the Chosen were gathered. He had a pretty good idea what was going on, but not entirely. He heard Sly tell Kiel not to trample through the river and decided that was as good a time as any. He lifted an arm towards the sky, and a solid water bridge formed in front of Kiel's feet. "Cross. It'll hold you. Sexy." His voice rumbled out deep and sexy. He looked around, thumbs in the band of his leather pants. "Hey guys. Makael. Sup?" |
He smiled at her. "Then let the journey be one of surprises then." A strange thought came into his mind after he had spoken, and his expression turned daring. "And don't worry about me, my steps are quick and gentle. Try to keep up. " In one swift leap he was in the trees, carefully maneuvering himself through the branches like he had done before, but quicker. Being a demon came with it's advantages.
Every leap set his spirit free, and heightened his adrenaline. It reminded him of the one person he did truly miss, and the reason he wouldn't mind dying. Still, only by a might equal to his. He refused to commit suicide, he thought of it as cowardice. He had patience enough to wait for his life to end, though he had nothing to live for. All was already done in his life, there was nothing else to live for that he could think of, and it wasn't a sad thing for him. It was simply what was, and could not be changed, not from what he believed at least, Perhaps because he had spent the majority of his banishment in selfishness. |
Sakyo pressed her foot against the tree to her right and pushed off, landing on the tree to the left of her and pushing off again until she was on a branch. Once she was she sped up to Raphael, jumping from branch to branch. She kept her keen ears alert, paying close attention to the subtle cracks of the wood as Raphael jumped about the trees. Before she would have sped ahead of him, but she knew it was better to allow him to lead; Raphael was the one who knew where they were going. Finally... she felt like she was reaching her goal in life... to find her father. Though, she did already find his body, but finding this woman and getting her wish granted would set his soul free as well and she could be back in his arms. A tiny portion of her wished that he hadn't gotten rid of his feelings for a rather selfish reason... so she could wish for her sight back instead, but her father was far more important that a site she had lost years ago. |
Kiel watched as everything seemed to have rushed by him, his powers seemed to have had some After effects which made things blur out for a few moments. once his senses came back to he heard Aponi say she had to go and saw her run off, as well as notice the bridge of water and the man who had called him sexy, and the younger boy who had said hello to him and worried that he had ignored him. Slowly Kiel crossed the bridge and smiled to them silently, in all honesty he was worried to spill dirt in the river below, and figured the bridge would collapse and make him splash in the river, but he did not think that when he touched ground on the other end. |

Even though Emilia tried her best to avoid Aponi's stare, feeling uncomfortable with the intense eye-contact, her eyes kept flitting from the forest back to the girl in front of her. Eventually Emily took notice that Aponi's cheeks had darkened, was that a blush? But why would the other girl be blushing? Now she was watching Aponi's face with an intent curiosity. A soft nod was given in response to Aponi's thanks..How else could Emilia respond? She didn't feel comfortable simply saying "You're Welcome". However Emilia did know how important it meant that some people would accept an apology... or more, so the smallest, wavering smile was offered in addition to that nod. It was hard to approach Emilia without startling her in one way or another, but the slow approach that Aponi chose was perhaps the best option. Pressing herself against the tree trunk, it seemed that the ice-elemental believe that she could meld with the very fibers of the wood. Within an inch of Emilia's skin, the air around her had begun to turn ghastly cold, the element within her responding to the fear and paranoia. Aponi took Emilia's hand, and at first the fretful one resisted, trying to keep her hand close to herself, but Aponi was persistent enough.. and kind enough that Emily allowed the other girl to wipe it with the handkerchief as she wished. However the cloth grazed across a layer of frost at first, something that Emily noticed with a panic. Panic wasn't going to help the situation though, and dear Emilia knew this so she closed her eyes, breathing deeply and focused as hard as she could on the image of the frost melting and then evaporating away safely. "Forgiveness is not needed..." Emilia opened her eyes, attempting to relax and quiet her thundering heart as she listened to Aponi... The other girl's smile was catching, and Emilia offered her own again, agreeing with the idea that they should go back to the group with a hesitant nod. "T-to say my name?" Emilia's mind stalled as she wondered what Aponi could possibly mean. The smile returned, eyes lightening with acknowledgment when she figured out that Aponi was probably talking about Emilia having accepted the powers from the Goddess. "..The Goddess gave me a purpose.. I d-don't want to waste it." With a deep breath, her eyes traveled towards the path that she had used to escape the group. Decided, Emilia wormed her way out from between Aponi and the tree, taking a few backward steps, she was still facing Aponi. "Th-thank you f-for being n-nice... W-we sh-should g-go back now.. I have to st-st-start a f-fire..." She had promised to start a fire earlier.. Perhaps Sly would not agree with the idea in the depths of her forest, but Emilia knew how to be careful with a fire... It was a wild and dangerous thing that could be tamed to benefit several.. and not always just humans. Izaya cried out in agreement and dropped from the branches, gliding back towards the group in time to land in a branch and watch the new boy flirt with those present. Emilia waited hesitantly for Aponi to join her before walking back towards the group. When she did come within their eyesight, she would be running her fingers through her wild brown hair, and gazing guiltily upon the forest floor. She was still frightened of the large group of people, but she felt bad for having run away and causing any disturbance. |

Aponi smiled warmly as she noticed what she hoped Emily becoming more comfortable with her. "If you don't mind me asking, why do you prefer Emily? Emilia is so beautiful. Like a song." Just.. Stop talking, Aponi. Stop. Talking. The blush worsened before she worked consciously to suppress it. She was becoming wordy around this new girl, and she only had guesses as to why. And that was stupid. Aponi was stupid. She hated herself suddenly for even just her subconscious pretending to think she might have a chance with the cute younger girl before her. The thin frost layer intrigued the curious girl, but she didn't say anything about it. Emily's reaction told her all she needed to know - It was personal, thus she should stay out of it. She smiled brighter at Emily's care of the others about a fire, trusting the girl was smart enough it wouldn't be a concern. She followed behind her and stared at Emily's heels as they walked. "I still find it incredibly brave of you... I.." Her voice cracked with emotion and got quiet. "I haven't yet.. I can't.. I .." She sighed in defeat and went quiet, peering at the new comer. She encouragingly and gently touched Emily's shoulder in silent support, sensing her fear of the group. Makael blinked in surprise, grinning like a high school senior looking at a freshman as Crim fired off a million words a minute. "Hey kid. Yeah, I got Water. Whoosh woosh." He chuckled in deep amusement and watched Kiel as he moved across the bridge, obvious lust in his eyes. "Well I guess if that's where he's heading, I'll go too. Nah, that's a lie. I heading there out of pure unashamed childish curiosity. He's just a perk." His eyes moved over him appreciatively and he let out a low wolf whistle. He nearly jumped out of his skin when the scrawny Kiel hugged him. He looked down out of surprise and instinctively hugged back. Gods the kid was thin. "No problem kiddo. Kiel huh? I knew a boy named that in my old village. You an elf, kid?" He sniffed Kiel's hair and decided he probably wasn't. Not full blood anyways. When he had leaned in to sniff him, it was just in time to see his cheeks change color. He grinned in a sultry sort, his voice becoming a soft purr. "Because I find you very fine, Kiel. You're welcome for the bridge. I'd do much more for you, all you ever have to do is ask." When the boy twirled, he let out a deep, warm belly laugh. "Gods and goddesses above, you're adorable!" |
