Emilia had no idea the tumult going on inside Aponi's head, the only sign that Emily saw that something might be off was the darkening color of Aponi's cheeks. Which was more of a curiosity to her than anything. "...Emilia is okay... I-I was r-raised by the old woman t-to be called Em-Emily though.... It m-more familiar to me.."
The girl was so tightly wound that she jumped when Aponi laid a gentle hand on her shoulder, and closed her eyes in fright. A seeping cold surrounded Emilia for just a moment, her clenched fists dripping water as a common sign that she didn't have control over her powers. A deep breath brought warmth back to her aura, and bewildered eyes looked back at Aponi. "The Goddess s-said that w-we have a choice.. You don-... You don't have to accept the powers i-if you don't want to.." A wary smile appeared on her lips, but didn't reach her eyes. It was a mimicked expression that Emilia was trying to use to reassure Aponi. "It was sc-scary for some people... But s-some others were okay.. Th... A girl burst into flame... but someone helped her.. he didn't s-seem to be in any p-pain at all.." The stammering came in little bursts, it was starting to become easier to talk to Aponi... Just as Emilia was comfortable with talking to Nana-Haru. Hearing the laughter, Emilia turned her frightful gaze to another newcomer, feeling a pull towards him. It was a nostalgic attraction that made the fretful girl extremely uncomfortable. Elan, the horse that had stood and watched everyone with steady silence finally walked over to Emilia, and nudged her in the shoulder. The guitar on her back thudded lightly, and she grabbed the strap to hold it still, petting Elan on the nose as she continued to stare at Makael with wide, wild eyes. |
Hesitantly Kiel paused his twirling and looked up at Makael with wide eyed shock, which most would assume was horror since Kiel tended to over dramatize emotion occasionally. " Me a perk? F-fine?!?" Raising his voice strained his throat and he started to cough, grabbing for his water flask that was strapped around his shoulder he realized it was never fully shut and had become empty. His sight went blank again, the nothingness of darkness shrouding his vision slowly. He knew he had to calm down so he quickly lurched forward, grabbing onto Makael's leg. Feeling reassured by the feeling of another person he started to de-fog his head and smiled nervously. "I'm sorry ... I do not mean to grab you so tightly.." He unclenched his tight grip from Makael's calf and leaned back onto his butt, plopping down in a patch of grass and looked up. "I do not think i made any indecent exposures though, or did your whistle mean something different in your village?" He remembered all the times he would be forcefully stripped and shuddered. "I do not have any holes on my butt do I?" Quickly he felt around to make sure there was nothing that was obscene. |

---------- Due to their speed, it took Raphael and Sakyo little time to reach the outskirts of Lilia. Sakyo felt odd entering the city, since the earth disappeared beneath her feet and turned into cement. To say the least, she didn't like it. How Kyoko or that bubbly boy could live in such a place with beyond her. The scent of barbecue and fast food swirled about her nostrils, causing her stomach to churn. She covered her mouth with her hands to prevent any vomit from escaping her system. They needed to find the woman her father was talking about... and quickly. |

Zephyr had been too distracted by Crim's fears to really notice or understand what was going on with Aponi, Emilia, or Kiel.. But when Crim cheered for Makael and his powers then blushed over Kiel's presence, he felt a rise of jealousy inside he couldn't identify. When Makael started all but seducing Kiel as if to take his clothes off, it made more sense to him. I refuse to admit that I Zephyr positioned himself right besides Crim, wrapping an arm possessively around the adorable boy's shoulders. "My name's Zephyr. I'm Crim's partner with Air at my side." There was an air of distaste for both Kiel and Makael, and definitely an edge to the word partner, like the throwing down of a gauntlet. "Anyways.. Shouldn't we all like, set up camp or something? Either that or get water and get going.. We're on a pretty important journey." His eyes drifted from Crim to the skies in an agitated way, he wasn't even aware of it. Makael instantly moved towards Kiel when he began coughing, catching his shoulder as he fell and lurched towards him. He gestured the free palm towards the river again and brought a small bubble of water to Kiel's lips, an intense and serious concern in his vivid eyes. "Shh, shh, just drink. Easy does it.." The feeling in his leg was temporarily numbed when Kiel squeezed him when his powers had gone cuckoo. He chuckled in earnesty when Kiel apologized. "I don't remember complaining, Kiel." There was a soft purr to his name when it came from Makael's tongue, the effects of growing up around elves obvious. "And no, you didn't do anything obscene. Doesn't have to be obscene for something to be sexy, now does it?" His eyes narrowed dangerously. "Someone.. hurt you? For asking for something? Do not tell me where you hail from, or I will rip the lands asunder. No one should be harmed for asking. Ever." It was his intense rage at hear this that almost made him miss Zephyr's bite. He raised an eyebrow in amusement. "Well good for you, Zephyr. Lucky you then, for having such a precious "partner", I suppose." He looked Crim over again. He was a bit young for his tastes, but very attractive and quite adorable. "Yes, partner like that.. You gotta be strong to take care of one like that. Good luck." There. Gauntlet caught and slapped Zephyr across the face with. Much better. As Kiel noticed more people and waved them over, Makael turned his head to look. His eyes zeroed in on the shaking girl in the front, the one who looked like a frightened deer - ready to bolt. He could sense the fluctuations in her aura and temperature. He was sure that she had been the girl that would mirror his powers. He felt kind of like a big brotherly feeling towards her, looking at her shake and her discomfort. His mind immediately blamed the tall female behind her for the problem. He stared at Aponi in a silent death threat, without having said a word to her. Kiel's "babbling" caught his attention again though, and his eyes were immediately warm and sparkling when he looked back at the boy. "Well I wouldn't mind being your boyfriend, not a hair. A... friend... of yours?" As the boy began having trouble breathing beneath his hand, he moved to support Kiel's back and pulled another bubble for him. "Be careful, pretty boy. I'd cry if your voice choked and I never heard your song again." Aponi considered Emily's answer for a moment. "But.. Which does Emily prefer herself? Which makes her happier to hear?" Really, Aponi? Just gonna .. keep talking there, huh? Apparently, yes, yes she was. Because her word-to-mouth filter seemed busted near Emily. She felt deeply guilty when Emily jumped at her touch and became cold again, but relaxed ever so slightly when she warmed back up. As she listened to the girl's words, Aponi searched her eyes. Her smile did not make her eyes, but the effort was there. Someone is.. trying to comfort.. me? How perplexing, and honestly, totally baffling. An alien concept to the dark girl. "I want to help.. I feel the need to. Part of my core belief is in the balance.. And now I have a chance to restore it, how could I not?.. But.." She looked down ashamed again, gripping her left hand in a fist. She choked up a little, hot tears on her cheek almost invisible unless you cared to see her. "I've been weak all my life.. I've been told how sick I am constantly.. I want to help, but what help am I if I am dead? What if I can't keep myself from being killed? I know the healer boy is gone from our group, Kachina told me so.. It'd be wrong to depend on him anyways." Aponi had left out one fear - what if some part of her wanted her to die? The dark voice of doubt we all hear in our heads... What if it proved stronger than her light? She'd let everybody now.. Kiel's strained voice pricked at her sensitive ears though and she looked up, using the soft leather of her sleeve to wipe her face clear. No one would ever know, except Emilia if she had cared. She was too distracted by Kiel to notice Makael's hatred vibes and thought Emily and Elan too adorable anyways. She lightly gripped the tips of the stunned girl's fingers, dragging her with her to go talk to Kiel. "Hey Kiel, I'm back. Are you being careful with your throat?" She smiled teasingly and walked up to him, poking him on the shoulder. "Boyfriend, huh? I knew you were light-feathered. That was fast.. And he does seem to care for you sooooo.... I approve." Anyone would think Kiel had been her best friend for YEARS by the way she talked to him. She kinda felt like kindred souls to be honest. |
Kamrin was sitting back, enjoying his smoke, thinking over his options and the past year when she showed up. It wasn't too often that travelers came from the forest, so it was no wonder that Kamrin was interested in the new couple that approached the city. Jumping to his feet, he snuck behind a few bushes and watched them with an air of casualty. It was less likely that they would accuse him of spying if he looked casual.. He wasn't the only person in the world after all.
The scruffy man would have noticed Sakyo with or without the horns, but they certainly help pique his curiosity. "Well looky thar, slave and master.. or something different?" Kamrin had been to the village where the 'creatures' with horns were used as slaves, their wills abused. However he as accustomed to seeing them missing at least one horn.. unless they had run-off free... Or managed to avoid the summoners throughout their lives. Seeing the red-headed young lady was quite a treat, on more levels than one. He felt an uncanny attraction to her.. As if they had known eachother their whole lives, or perhaps from a previous life. It was a shame she looked so young. Now if only that other man wasn't standing right there.. Kamrin couldn't tell exactly from what village Raphael was from, but he had a pretty good hunch. A chuckle escaped his mouth when he saw Sakyo cover her mouth, not with awe, but with disgust. She obviously didn't want to be in Lilia, and Kamrin couldn't blame them. He had a similar reactio when he first came to the bustling, unnatural city. This was one place that he felt his two halves war with each other most often. A constant tumult between enjoying the advancement of civilization and being utterly disgusted with the lack of respect they had towards nature and all of it's wonders. If only Lilia could have learned to have an even balance. Stuffing a hand into his pocket, he took another deep drag on the ciggerate, letting the smoke fill his lungs before taking a few steps towards Raphael and Sakyo, making himself known. Kamrin exhaled a stream of swirling smoke, "It ain't as horrible as all that, why ya here if Lilia's makin' yer stomach churn?" He flicked ash off of his ciggerate, coming to a stop a few feet away from the two. They were both touched by the Goddess, he could feel it off of them and see it in their eyes. For just a moment Kamrin debated whether or not to ask them about the Goddess... Almost deciding not to because it would sound crazy to ask someone: "Hey, d'ya get yer powers from tha' goddess lady, or d'ya decide not ter say yer name?" Finally he settled on: "So which ones d'ya get? And why ya not headin' fer that Mountain or summat?" Smooth. But he didn't like beating around the bush. ~~~~ The question Aponi asked was strange to her, Emilia had never thought about which name she would prefer before. Neither really made her more happy than the other... 'Emily' reminded her of the kind old woman that raised her.. So she supposed that it made her happier to be called Emily... But she didn't answer the question, instead she cast Aponi a strange look and moved on to the other things Aponi had to say. Worry seeped into Emilia's expression as Aponi choked on tears, and expressed her concerns. It positively frightened the girl to see such distress, and also drove her to find an answer to the questions. She turned away from staring at Makeal, missing the glare that he was sending at poor Aponi, and placed a wary, shakey hand on Aponi's shoulder. Frantic eyes searched Aponi's expression, she did not like to hear people worry about their own deaths, it positively frightened her. A calm tone filtered through her voice that could be heard only when she talked with her feathered friends.. never before with a person that she hardly knew. "We're all here to help each other, I don't think anyone is meant to do what the Goddess asks alone. I believe that is one reason that we have a partner.. or counterpart. We will be stronger together.." Despite the frantic searching of her eyes, Emilia seemed intent and sure.. a rare occasion. Wind whipped through her hair, and tugged at the leather jacket and baggy pants that she was wearing."The Goddess w-would not have ch-chosen you if she thought you were t-too weak... A-and you're li-living right now.." Emilia's hand fell away quickly from Aponi's shoulder as the other girl wiped her face. Fright jolted through her heart when Aponi tugged her further into the group. Her feet were heavy and lagging at first, but when Aponi started talking, Emilia tossed her eyes to the ground, hiding her face behind the viel of hair, and held tightly onto the guitar strap on her shoulder with her free hand. Yes, she was quite like a deer, ready to bolt. Then something else struck her squeare in the chest, Zephyr's question. In a strange panic, Emilia pulled her hand away from Aponi and turned to Elan, who was standing where she had been left, snorting and shaking her main. The horse was disturbed with the uneasy breeze, caused by Zephyr's emotions. "S-sorry.." It was meant to be said to the agitated wind-user, but Emily might as well have said it to herself she was so quiet. Opening one of Elan's packs, Emilia pulled out a tinder box and a rolled up bundle. With the necessary things, she went to a spot a little ways away from the rest of the group, but it was a clearing of mostly earth, very little wood. Quietly, she cleared the area of twigs, and collected a few rocks.. but there weren't enough in the area so she went back to Elan, the rocks that she pulled out of both packs served two purposes... Great stones for a fire-pit.. and also to balance the loads on Elan's back. It was better if both sides weighed the same, rather than having more weight on one side, causing strain on the poor horse. Such a large group was seriously starting to work on Emilia's tolerance.. But they all got along so well... And the majority of the group seemed accepting. It was something that Emilia should have been thankful for, but she couldn't help but to wonder about being on her own. After all, she had expected to do this adventure by herself from the beginning. |

I also figured the map would help you know where everyone is/has gone o.o For clarification... Sakyo was part of the "bad" line until she left Kyoko, saw her daddy, and left to help her daddy... thus why her line does NOT begin in the center. Kyoko actually DID go to the mountain already... He can kinda, ya know, FLY =\ and has no one to slow him down xDDD so ja. He went back and killed Hui. I'll update this when I feel a need to~~ Other than putting the towns XD once everyone's town is up... I'll put it in the front. Sakyo's town cannot be put there, since she never really lived in one... she lived in the forest with Sly. Kyoko's town is not near the Forbidden Forest at all. In fact, it's in a mountain that's awhile or so away from Lilia. When they had finally reached Lilia the thought of leaving Sakyo's side had disappeared from thought. He had actually enjoyed running beside her. It had been awhile since he had someone to keep up with.
The smells here didn't bother Raphael as much as they did Sakyo. He had been to used to being everywhere. He had smelled almost everything, and felt almost every other sensation. Though he preferred the forest in comparison. People here, they were just to, sheltered. They wouldn't last in the wild. His eyes glanced over to Sakyo to see her look of disgust, and he couldn't help, but chuckle softly. "All that fearlessness, and you can't handle a little stench?" He wouldn't be surprised if he received either a cold hearted glare, or something more painful. Still the opportunity to meddle he could not resist. "Relax som-" Raphael's words fell short as Kamrin spoke, and came into view. His arm went out in front of Sakyo uncontrollably, and a low growl escaped his lips. It took him a moment to realize what he had done, but after, he withdrew. "Forgive me," he said to her. He desperately wished he could get passed all this. The new comer had done nothing really to earn his suspicion. Sure he seemed odd, but that was about it. He also appeared to be no threat. At least not one that they couldn't handle. Raphael smiled at the man's next words, for they peaked his curiosity. He must be one of the chosen.... "I received the power over light. She received the power over fire." He paused. He wasn't sure if Sakyo wanted to have this man know where they were headed. The only reason he had spoken for her so far was so she didn't have to deal with the smells that were clearly bothering her. "As to why we are heading away from the mountains, let's just say that our goals differ from that of the goddess's. She can tell you more if she likes." Raphael pondered, then asked, "what did you receive?" Nobu studied Nana's movements. She wasn't thinking clearly, and she was allowing her emotions to get the best of her. It bothered him that he could do nothing for her. Not now at least. Makael entered the group, and Nobu rubbed his head against Nana's cheek. At first she seemed irritated by the action, but then she petted his head, and gave her her attention to Makael. She didn't make as much acknowledgment as the others. She did listen, and her eyes gazed in wonder at the bridge he had made. Another one with so much control. Nana wrapped her arms around herself, she was so weak, and pathetic, how could anyone ever suspect her of thinking more of herself? She gritted her teeth, and laid a hand on Miwa. The white stallion shuffled in place, feeling unsettled by the unnatural feel. Nana's touch was always gentle, this was heavy. The worse was that Nana didn't seem to realize it. The girl sighed. "I don't know what the others are doing, but I'm remaining here for the night. I have my friends to think of." She turned as Kiel spoke Aponi's name. The first thought that came to her was Emelia, and when she finally saw her friend, a smile lighted upon her face. She was ok. If the old bird had lips, he would have smiled. His wings expanded, and he took into flight. Nana's attention drew to him instantly. "Nobu... where are you off to now?" |

Crim clapped his hands together as Kiel twirled until shortly after he stopped, causing the boy to stare at the dark elemental with a perplexed expression as is he had expected the twirling to last forever. He listened to Kiel speak then frowned, more like a pout; he felt sorry for Crim. Though, the bullying between the two of them made it so they had, at the very least, that in common and such a sad fact made Crim smile a little. "You need a hug, Kiel," Crim smiled reassuringly, but then Zephyr wrapped his arm around his shoulders, which caught him off guard. He blinked numerous times before comprehending the situation at hand. Then again... it was Crim. |

Surely enough Kiel wrapped his arms around Crim and smiled as the young boy snuggled his chest, it was comforting, unlike any experience he had ever felt, since his mother never touched him and all the boys were disgusted with him back at the village. his legs locked up partially from the intensity of the hug and snuggle, the extra body wrapped around him made him uncomfortable but at the same time relaxed, he slowly rubbed Crim's back. " I am glad I have met such kind people to give me all this comfort." He looked slowly and deeply back into Crim's eyes and kissed the boys forehead. " okay! okay if I ever need a shoulder or an ear..." He leaned into Crims shoulder and whispered into his ear, breathing gently against his bare skin. "I will call out for you." |
((Aru knows, now the rest of you know - I am a severely sickie butt. I scrounged up a small post in Maxwell, but it hurt my brain and eyes to do so. So I'm gonna crawl back under a rock before I end up puking my guts out. ILU all and will come back as soon as possible. Til then, Emily/Rising can control Aponi(who should behave shy around Emily due to her crush, buddybuddy with Kiel since she feels a bond to him, and kinda standoffish to anyone else - also, sad that Sly left), Kiel/Alex can control Makael(Who passive-aggressively hates Aponi for no discernable reason, lusts for Kiel, and enjoys harassing the shit outta Zephyr), and Crim/Aru can control Zephyr(Hell, you know). Seeing Crim's guilty expression as he separated from his arms, Zephyr felt a pang at remorse for his earlier actions. He acted as though he didn't hear the biting words of those around him, but they were completely right. Zephyr barely knew this boy and yet he was acting as though he owned him, which was far from the truth. While, in the back of his mind, so far back it was almost his subconscious, he knew that he liked this boy quite a bit, his conscious brain decided to simply cover this up with the term "connection". It meant this in that they were fundamentally connected by their abilities, chosen by fate. Yes, it couldn't be anything more than that, certainly wasn't what one would call a crush... Zephyr pushed his mind from those thoughts as quickly as he could, instead trying to focus on the situation at hand. He continued to ignore the remarks of those who had criticized him before, as right as they were, and instead chose to lower his guard a bit. He moved his arms down, and attempted to wipe his face into blankness.
A small but sharp dagger went into his heart as Crim hugged Kiel, then drove itself deeper as he snuggled up to him. Zephyr forced away the traitorous feelings of protection and jealousy that rose up within him, pushing back down the acid that wanted to pour out of his throat. He bit his tongue, first figuratively, holding back the words in his head (Get away, he's mine, etc.), then literally as he found it hard to bear watching this. Zephyr was beginning to get confused by this sudden attraction, these intense feelings for this small boy. What the hell was wrong with him? Last time Zephyr checked, he had liked girls, and lately not even them. What was so different about this boy? What had changed within Zephyr to make him feel this way? He remained stony-faced and emotionless as he watched the unfolding scene. |
Nana eyes stared baffled as the hawk disappeared into the trees. Her attention snapped back to the group only after Sly had spoke again. She nodded. There would be no trouble in doing what the forest guardian had instructed. In fact she would have done it anyway. Nana sighed, and then made her way over to Emelia after she assured Miwa everything was going to be ok. She knelt down beside the girl, and cleared her throat. “Emelia… I just wanted to know if you were ok now…. I-I-I’m sorry I didn’t go after you. I know it sounds silly… but… I was afraid. This is all kind of a first for me… having a real friend.”

His body was completely bare. He gasped as everything finally come into place. It had been such a long time since he had taken this form. The form in which was named Scavery, his real name. Standing up was a bit of a struggle, his legs wobbled like jell-o. Once or twice he fell down, then he grabbed hold of a tree trunk for balance. He chuckled at himself. “Well a naked forest man, that defiantly spells friendly. Scavery where have you put your sense?” He looked over his surroundings to see what he could make use of. There was very little. |

Aponi was upset that Sly left, but she understood that Kachina was a guardian of the forest and her duties came before they did. It was an honor to be in her presence. Unlike Nana he hadn’t been quick to trust the man. He still wasn’t sure of him, but was more curious than anything. If anything he was just being cautious. Scavery smirked as his eyes followed the sound of the voice. He spotted Kyoko in the distance with no trouble. How he could have missed him before he had no idea. Even if Scavery hadn’t spotted him, he should have at least been able to sense him. He stayed close to the tree as it was the only thing keeping him standing. “Believe me I know.” He chuckled to himself. Such things as clothes weren’t exactly a priority for him when he was hawk. He was so used to his feathers that he forgot with them he was bare. Of course Kyoko was probably referring to his presence in the forest in general. For now he would have to play dumb. He needed to know more about the other before he let on anything about himself. “A series of events lead me here without any clothes. Quite unfortunate, but what can you do about it?” ================================================== ======================== Raphael had not forgotten about Kamrin, but Sakyo had become his first priority once again. He noticed her shaking. He knew that she wished she didn’t have to ask him for help. He would still give it to her. “Ok. Devil’s daughter. Shouldn’t be that hard to find,” he said nonchalantly. Raphael sighed, and knelt down further while holding her up with his hand at her torso. ”Get on my back, we’ll travel faster.” His eyes drifted to Kamrin. “If you know anything about a lady who grants wishes around here, and if you are willing to lead go ahead. Otherwise, do whatever you want, but that’s the direction we’re headed in.” Perhaps he could find a smell that didn't match the rest. |
