Ava heard a beautiful womanly voice, but she was a bit surprised to hear where it came from. She looked up in utter shock, her mouth dropping open and her eyes widening, at the beautiful woman who was floating down from the sky. She was so scared and wanted to run away, but she was frozen to the spot. Her feet were glued to the grass, and her muscles wouldn't respond to her mind's plea to run as fast as she could in the opposite direction than the Goddess.
Then when the woman spoke and began to explain, Ava looked over to see Crim getting all giddy and excited, his eyes lighting up just at the sight of her. Seeing how happy he was allowed Ava to calm down a little bit, and her muscles relaxed. However, she looked back at the Goddess and kept her eyes on her as the woman landed on the rock and spoke. Hearing all about the "chosen ones" that the Goddess said they were was so shocking, that Ava couldn't even say anything. The woman sounded so sincere and her pressence alone just felt so powerful, yet warm, like the desert sun back home. After a little while, the Goddess suddenly lifted people up in the air, telling them what their element was and explaining their powers. When it came to her turn, Ava's body came alive, her eyes widened even more in fright. She let out a small shriek from her mouth, and she brought her hands up to her mouth, staring like a deer caught in the headlights at the Goddess as she explained about her element. As she found out that she was able to control metals, Ava's hands slowly lowered back down to her sides as she realized that she was somewhat like her late father. He was a blacksmith, and now she could control metal. It was amazing and frightening, and yet it made her so happy. Her eyes narrowed to normal, and a small sad smile appeared on her face as she was lowered back to the ground by the Goddess. "Thank you..." She muttered, happiness welling up inside her chest, almost feeling as though she would burst. "Thank you so much..." Once everyone had been picked up and had their chosen element explained, she thought about her name, and closed her eyes, hoping that it would not hurt her. "Avanna Seralina Draceal" At first, she didn't feel anything, then, starting from her toes, Ava felt tingles as if her toes were asleep. The tingling feeling almost instantly moved rapidly up her body, and enveloped her entire being. Within seconds, the tingling intensified and it felt as though she was being stabbed with pins and needles all over her body. She grit her teeth and closed her eyes, falling to her knees. The feeling intensified even more until it felt as though she were being stabbed by large, cold slivers of metal all over, and it felt as though it were tearing her apart. Ava screamed, hugging herself and falling over onto her side, curling up into a violently shivering ball. Her eyes shut tight as the world felt as though it were spinning and the stabbing intensified, getting worse and worse and worse, until suddenly, it stopped. Ava was still shivering, but she felt no more pain. In fact, she felt a strange power inside of her chest that almost felt like a sharp, cold fire. Slowly, Ava sat up, looking around in confusion, wondering what had happened, and if the pain was all over. |
Even though Emilia wasn't the least bit aware of Zephyr's presence, the hawk on her shoulder was. Piercing gold eyes settled on the shadowy figure hiding in the forest just moments before a shaft of colorful light focused on the boulder in the middle of the clearing. The sudden light show made Emily flinch, and drew curious eye. Her look of fright and bewilderment changed into something more of fascination. With rapture she watched as the Goddess floated lower, her heart lept when those beautiful eyes opened and that sweet, beautiful voice greeted all of those gathered.
Emilia took a deep breath, relieved and overjoyed that she hadn't travelled the forbidden forest pursuing an insane idea. The gratefulness that she felt towards the diety was profound enough that she stepped around Elan and stood next to Hui in order to stand closer to the beautiful being. When the Goddess apologized, Emilia shook her head softly, unbelieving that the Goddess should have any reason to apologize. At that very moment Emilia made the resolution to do whatever the Goddess asked of her, that she would let positively nothing stand in the way of completing the tasks the Diety laid out in front of the simple girl who otherwise worked as a pidgeon caretaker. Sakyo and Aria were lifted into the air so that the Goddess could tell them what their powers would be, and Emilia waited with bated breath, listening to what the diety had to say, waiting to see what her power would be. She hadn't even noticed that Izaya had left her shoulder for favor of a tree branch. When her feet first left the ground she felt a jolt of fright at the weightlessness, which was quickly replaced with delight and a childish smile. Is this what it feels like to fly? She listened carefully to what the Goddes had to say about the powers of water and ice, however she couldn't help to cast a glance at Sasuki, thinking wistfully how she may have preferred that Nana-Haru had been her elemental partner. Nana had been the first one out of the group that Emily had enough courage to talk to, she didn't know anyone else but Nana-Haru and Hui. Pushing aside those thoughts, she smiled at the Goddess, speaking in the softest voice, "Thank you!" Even though her feet were firmly on the ground, she was too enraptured to take her eyes away from teh Goddess. Nana-Haru was next, with her partner, and then the strange boy with the mohawk along with a man that Emily hadn't seen before but her hawk-friend had. When she heard that the strange, huggy, enthusiastic boy would have the power of flight ingited a tiny fire of jealousy. How often had Emilia wished that she could soar under the sun like Izaya or Chester, fly through the forest like any number of her feathered friends? Lowering her head in shame, Emily didn't look back up until Hui was brought before the goddess to receive his powers. Then the Goddess gave them their options, suggesting even that Emilia could choose to not accept her powers. Jealousy was set aside as she considered the ridiculous notion that anyone would choose to fight against this wonderful deity, or even more ridiculous: That someone would denounce their powers. Well perhaps the others would have their reasons but Emilia knew which path she would follow. Besides, she couldn't return to Grammy without having accomplished something. The homely warmth of the clearing disappeared with the Goddess, and it was to Emilia's surprise that Haru started yelling at the departed deity. She was even more surprised when Crim tried to hug the violent girl. Emilia frowned at the resulting situation, slightly curious. Sympathizing with the strange, friendly boy a hand rested over her heart as she watched him walk away, wiping his eyes. However she didn't see either Haru or Ara as they went through their painful processes of gaining their powers, because as Emily watched Crim walk over to Zephyr she spoke her own name quietly. "Emilia Rose" For just a split second nothing happened, and that miniscule moment seemed like an eternity. Then it felt as if something cold settled in her stomach before spreading outward into her limbs. She felt as if she had been dropped into the ice-cold waters of a river in the winter, shivers wracked her body as the unbearable cold settled into her very bones. Numbness spread over her freezing limbs, and Emily closed her eyes. The feeling reminded her of a time that she had run out of the home she shared with Grammy into the snow banks that surrounded the village after a fight that they had. Freezing, and determined not to return home, Emilia had hidden under a snowy bush, curling up to try to keep warm. First she went numb, and then she had grown tired. The next thing that she could remember had been waking up under a heaping, sweltering pile of blankets and the anxious face of the loving Grammy. Emilia was expecting that sleepiness to descend, but instead she noticed that her limbs were starting to feel stiff, as if her veins and muscles were themselves freezing. Then breathing became harder, constricted as the Goddess' words rang in her head, "It can cause death if you are not careful and do not quickly master it." Emily realized her mistake, she had not prepared herself in the lest to accept this power and an image came to mind of herself as a frozen icicle. A frozen statue of ice was not what she wanted to be, however a thin sheen of ice was already covering her hands, arms and fingers Instead of surcumbing to panic, she calmed her mind and refused to see herself as an ice-pop. Instead she pictued that ice-statue thawing, staying alive. Then she focused on an image of standing in front of dark figures that she turned into ice-figures that shattered and disappeared. Emilia was actually surprised to find, as she replayed the scene again and again, that warmth and feeling slowly returned to her body. She stopped hugging herself, and slowly opened her eyes to look at her hands which were still freezing cold. Flexing her fingers carefully, a fog trailed from her fingertips as the small water particles in the air were turned to ice. "Oh.." Bewildered and suspicious that she might be dreaming instead of wide awake, she looked up at her surroundings. Frightful brown eyes caught sight of a confused Ara, and then a fire in the center of the meadow. No, that wasn't a fire, that was the girl that Crim tried to hug! Letting out a terrified yelp, fearful for the other girl's well-being, Emilia looked around frantically for something, anything. She caught sight of Crim. Running over to the boy, remembering that he had tried to console the Sakyo before, she took hold of his arm, pulling lightly. "We have to help her!" Her eyes were wild as she pointed frantically at the burning girl. She would feel foolish when it turned out that Sakyo may not have needed their help. Also Emilia wasn't aware as to how freezing cold her hands really were, if she held on for too long Crim could get frost-bite. (( xD;; sorry if it's too long.. I could try to cut it down again... o.O;; )) |

Eirian suddenly noticed a new, overwhelming life energy behind her. Turning around, she saw the boulder illuminated with soft light as the beautiful woman from her dream slowly floated down. The nervousness she hadn't known she was feeling had now left her and she felt completely calm. Everything around her seemed a little brighter and more alive now. Even if she wanted to, Aria knew she wouldn't be able to look away. She explained that each would be receiving a power, one that would help to restore the balance that was leaving this world.
When the Goddess reached for her and the light that extended from her arms lifted her from the ground, Eirian's heart lept. She explained that Aria would have the power of lightning, an energy that ran through all things; essentially, life energy. When the Goddess placed Eirian back on the ground, her focus turned inwards. Was this really a power she wanted? The ability to possibly control people? Of course, she didn't know for sure what exactly her power would entail, so perhaps she was completely wrong. She doubted that though. Eierian barely heard the rest of what the Goddess said to the rest of those gathered but finaly tuned in again when she fully told them what their mission was. However, she gave them the option to completely refuse their power, join the other side, or do what they will. It wasn't something she was expecting. She had assumed that they all would be expected to go along with the Goddess' plan. Now she wasn't sure what she would decide. Even before she arrived, she hadn't made up her mind as to what her course of action would be, and now she wasn't so sure she would accept the Goddess' mission. She agreed full heartedly that balance was important and it needed to be restored, though she wasn't sure this would be the way. How she knew that, Eirian didn't know, but she always trusted what felt right for her, and she didn't know if this was it. The Goddess told them how to summon their powers and left, leaving them to their own devices. Making a snap decision, Eirian decided that at least accepting her powers wouldn't hurt. "Eirian Hayle." Eirian immediatly felt the effects. Unlike several of the others, it wasn't painful. Instead, everything just seemed more intense. She could feel everything, sense everything, more clearly. She could feel every blade of grass beneath her feet and feel the almost non existant breeze brush softly against her skin. When she moved her hand, she could feel every slow contraction of the muscles. It was like every nerve ending had suddenly become hypersensitive. Her mind raced at a million miles a second and she was able to process everything she was so much more quickly. Looking to the sky, she could feel the minute traces of static electricity latent in the clouds. Then it was over. As suddenly as it had started, the sensation of being able to feel and see everything ended. Everything was back to normal, but she knew she could call it forward with just a thought. This power was hers now, and she would have to learn to control it. Now it was just a matter of deciding what to do next. |
(( Gah, I have so much to go through.. may not be able to post too soon.. xD ))

"Maybe," Nana said, lowering her head. She can not help, but to hope this is more than coincidence. It just has to be to more, or she would be truly foolish. She looks up to see what seems to be the same look in Emelia's expression, and then she notices Izaya's care for her. Nana smiles. "They understand so much. Emel-" Suddenly a warm, familiar presence envelopes her senses, and when she turns, she sees the woman from her dreams. Her jaw drops into a gasp and then her body lowers gracefully into a humbling bow. It is a natural instinct of respect, she never even had to think about it.
Raphael only cocks his head at first at the woman, and then his gaze shifts to Sakyo only because she is nearer, and when she stood, he stood, for no more reason than it seemed the right thing to do. He feels as though his only reason for being here is to find out why he was called here, this being, his only thrill of this great entity being here now, is that he would get his answer. Though there is something about her that makes him bite his tongue, he blames it on nothing more than childish curiosity. It is like someone whispering what sounds to be something interesting, the mouth becomes limp, and the ears perk up higher, so that words can be smoother. Both Nana and Raphael listen closely to the goddess's words, both with different mind sets. Nana with rising enthusiasm and Raphael with rising boredom. However in the end both are taken off guard by the white steam, and neither could take their eyes away from it as it begins to lift the others. When it comes to Nana, she comes close to drawing away from it, but then ushers herself more towards it, forcing herself to believe there is nothing to fear. Her gift intrigues her, the gift of controlling plants. and understanding them. It all sounds so wonderful and unbelievable. She promises herself to be responsible with it. "Just wait till Papa hears about this, Nobu, Miwa. I'm sure he will be happy for me." Raphael took no second thoughts upon retreating, he only wishes he had thought of it sooner. All he could do is stumble back into the hold. It has nothing to do with fear, it is just he does not want the responsibility, and finding out that he would be light, brought no joy to him. In fact he thought the woman has to be mad. He tightens his fist, his mind lingering on this new idea of destiny. This would be the first decision in a long time that he would actually have to think on the decision he would have to make. Sakyo's cries penetrate his thoughts, and he then stares wide eyed at the girl. His decision is surprisingly quick. "Raphael of the Razna tribe." Suddenly a warm essence surges through his body and he felt as though he were being held in his mother's arms again. He felt comfort, peace, and reassurance, but he did not hold to it long as he rushes to Sakyo's side. His hand lingers over her as he kneels down to her level. "You can kill me later for this, but something strange urges me to help you. Now try to be still, I'm not sure what I'm doing." He clears his mind and tries to find the energy he had just felt before, then once found he takes hold of Sakyo's arm. It was as though her pain was becoming his, for he felt a light burning. "Please don't fight me," he whispers. Nana drew in a soft breath, and then says, "Nana-Haru of the house of Kenta." The voices come slowly into her mind and, then like a raging wave they become louder than thunder. She bites her lip, refusing to scream. The roots tare through the earth as she drops to the ground, clutching her head. They case her within them, and the voices become softer. Nana looks at her hands and she feels warm liquid seep out. "Blood? What have I let myself be?" The roots continue to grow and she finally notices this, pulls out her sword, and breaks free of her casing. Screams, bring her down to her knees, but the roots retreat in agony. She covers her ears and holds them over tightly. "Forgive me my weakness," she mutters. She forces herself to stand, still holding her ears tightly. She should have learned from the others, but she had not been wise. [Edited. :)] |
((Just make sure you respond to the goddess and whatnot =D and respond to posts after it xD lol which I suppose is a lot to read @[email protected] But yeah.
I'll probably reply once Reno is done editing her post xD Since I dunno if editing means making it looks better or if it means that she's adding more :D BUT YAY! I love the differences going on. Much better than my other elemental rps :3)) |
{I'm done, I just put in Nana's part and did all that fancy stuff. Sorry for the wait.]

Zephyr was completely surprised by the sudden outburst from the "goddess" as the younger boy had called her. She certainly seemed to act like one, and her beauty was unparalleled by any human woman he had ever witnessed. She brought him and the young boy close, telling them of supposed powers locked within themselves. Under any other circumstances, Zephyr would have denounced it as bullshit, possibly come out with some snappy and sarcastic, but at the moment was too thunderstruck by the pure euphoria of being here, with all of these people he didn't know, and this woman... this goddess, who gave off such a warm feeling. A feeling of home, after so long of being homeless. Was it too good to be true? Probably. But there was only one way to find out. He supposed his element assignment made sense; after all, his name was apparently something to do with the wind. He never really looked too deep into names, although they seemed to hold very much importance in his life now. Probably more important than anything before, even the whole fiasco with his parents. Two simple words could change everything forever. He watched as all around him people went through their changes, some crying out in pain while others simply tensed then returned to normal. A single girl was in flames, sending Zephyr's numb mind into a sudden panic. All thought was blotted out for a few seconds, then came in a rush. His name.
"Zephyr Killian." he let out in a gasp, still looking to the girl. Haru, he thought her name was; though that didn't matter much right now. The moment the words left his lips, all thoughts of anyone else disappeared. The world suddenly went into silence, and his ears popped as the air pressure adjusted around him. He felt like he was climbing a mountain, the air getting thinner, then thicker, sudden humidity adjustments, then normalcy. His mind went into turmoil as he tried to find some grasp on how to control all of the intricacies of the air particles, no method popping into his mind. He tried simply focusing, but it was like grasping the rope attached to an anchor slipping off a ship; it hurt to hold, and seemed almost impossible to stop. The air grew silent, still. Then, the exact opposite. The wind grew in strength, first gently rocking the trees, then pushing them, then flaying their leaves off as it turned into a harsh gale. His hair blew around him; the wind seemed isolated to a small area around him, whipping up dust in an orb that surrounded him. He lifted a few inches into the air, and slowly felt the energy flow out of him. It was almost as though he was slowly dying, everything draining away as colour disappeared and left only a slow-fading blackness. No, he thought. I need to stop this now, and focus. He brought all of his thoughts into once conscious point, then mentally jabbed at the flow of power, pinning it to some psychic wall and stopping it from going any further. The wind abruptly stopped, the dust settled, and the leaves stopped moving. He felt exhausted already, but needed to help. He feared wind would only make the fire worse unless coupled with another power. Water. The girl with the ice powers had already activated herself, as he thought of the process, and he supposed that would have to do for now. He rushed up to her and overheard the other air boy's name. Crim. They would have to do. Everything felt so surreal, more dreamlike than his actual dreams. He let his body go on autopilot but for holding his concentration on keeping his own powers in check. Even if it is just a dream, go along with it, Zephyr. What other choice do you have? None, in his own opinion. So he put his hand on Emilia's shoulder, then immediately took it away as he felt the freezing cold. Undaunted, he spoke as firmly as he could in his complete and total panic, stutter and shudder still managing to find their way into his voice. "She's right. The goddess said we needed to work together, and there's no better time to learn then now, don't you think?" he said, frantically rushing towards the end. [[My posts might be a bit shorter until I get the hang of making ridiculously long awesome posts like you guys do. >.<]] |
(( xD; mine aren't always so ridiculously long.. They tend to average about three paragraphs... <.<; Yet since I've gotten to Mene they have gotten longer and longer.. Edit: I'll post for Emilia again after Aru posts for her characters. ~_^))
|
((It's fine xD I like long posts, I just don't want you guys to feel obligated to match the goddess's post. Hers was only long to explain everything XD I like having more than a paragraph or two to read, but I'd imagine that it's very annoying to have to read a GIIIIIIANT chunk all the time lol especially since generally giant chunks are blabbing on and on about thoughts and if you blab too much about thoughts, then where is the mystery in your character? XD But ja. Anyway~~~ I should reply :3 buuut only after I make the telepathy dude XD because since no one else is having it I AM =D and don't bother offering to take it for me @[email protected] I've played 8 people in a RP once and I was fiiiine ;3))
Blood dripped down then caked onto Sakyo's face as her teeth dug hard into her lower lip, muffled screams heard despite all of her attempts to suppress them. The fire was unbearable and the words of the goddess were long since gone from her mind, only the pain remained. Immense pain that ensnared her without any intention of ever letting go of this child. Fingers gripped at the grass that soon turned into ash by her touch as was everything flammable around her. The fire was expanding, but Sakyo had no idea why. This was her rage. All of the pain she felt, all of the anger she ever held deep down inside, was all being let out with her powers. This element was suited for her, but untamed it would destroy her. She shut her eyes tight, her useless eyes. "I... I... W-what can I do...?" Crim whimpered. "I... I can just fly! Th-that won't help her... I wanna help her, but I... I can't." Tears streamed down his cheeks. Deep brown eyes darted from the girl speaking to him, the man he stood behind, and the flames. His body trembled uncontrollably, he knew tears weren't helpful now, but he couldn't help crying. Someone was in so much pain and there was nothing he could do and now he was too afraid to embrace his own powers. Like Crim, Sakyo was shaking as she gave in to the fire and laid on the ground. Numerous parts of her body were entirely numb now. Calm down and let him heal you, Sakyo. Or do you want to die? Then a comforting feeling came, one she didn't understand. It was warm and felt like she was being healed almost. Fire that had once been lashing out at those around her was now calming down as she finally let go. The burns were disappearing and she felt at peace like she once had when she was with her father or with Sly, sometimes. Once she was healed enough to sense again, she reached out in front of her to find out who was around her and what had made the pain go away. The fire prevented her from hearing anyone, which included when Raphael had told her to calm down. Fingers pressed at Raphael until Sakyo recognized the form as the person she had attacked earlier. The aura protruding from him was exactly the same as it was before, but it was warmer. "Light can heal..." came a mutter. Slowly she sat herself up by pressing her hands to the ground and pushing. Most of her clothing had been burned off, go figure, but Sakyo was too paranoid of the fire lashing out at her again to let rage return. That and she was exhausted, lifting herself up was enough work. "Give me clothes.... Now." "I shall gladly oblige," a familiar voice chimed to Sakyo. Both Sakyo and Crim jerked their heads in the direction of the man who strolled towards her out of the shadows. Crim immediately recognized him as the trouble maker from his town while his voice was what shocked Sakyo, it was the same voice that had told her to calm down. The tall, lengthy individual with his radical swooped spikes of hair, red eyes, and rather abstract clothing much like Crim's. "I was sure extra clothes would be necessary, but not because a maiden needed them," he smirked and handed her a shirt and pants, both just as crazy looking as the outfit he was wearing. "How did you-" brows furrowed while she threw on the clothes given to her then she stood to face him. "How did I what, Haru?" the man grinned. "I am Kyoko Skai, name me as you please." His lips puffed out in confusion as his eyes trailed over Sakyo. "How odd... Your clothes burned off fine, yet your hair seems to be in tact... I suppose that is fortunate on your part, however." Down on one knee he gently grabbed Sakyo's hand and kissed it, then returned to standing. "Truly exquisite." She tore her hand away from him, a low growl escaping from her. Crim stood behind Zephyr, hoping that Kyoko wouldn't see him if he hid behind someone bigger than him. Why is he here...? "Criiiim," Kyoko chimed. "Don't bother hiding, crybaby." He placed his hands on his hips and rolled his eyes. "I am not a demon, nor am I hear to cause harm. I received my powers and now I plan on leaving. Though I do hope Haru accompanies me." The redheaded boy looked over at Emilia utterly terrified. Carefully he mouthed to her 'Don't listen to anything he says...'. |
At first, Hui took a couple of steps back when he sensed the strong yet familiar female presence that he had felt in his dream. "Oh, it's the lovely lady," he muttered to himself with delight as he tentavily took a few baby steps closer to her. This lady had an aura that told him that she was someone he should pay his respects to. Staying silent, Hui watched in amazement as she lifted the others into the air and whispered words to them. Maybe she was one of those deities that the strange little budhist pest was preaching about once. Hui never believed in deities and having a ton of Gods in the clouds peering down and spying on you everywhere. He knew better, although he actually does believe there is a God somewhere out there. After all, who would have let him survive this far in life but God? Of course, luck and a quick pair of feet do certainly help now and then. When it was finally his turn to be wrapped up by the white cloth-like tentacles, Hui grinned in surprise as he was getting a one-on-one hearing with her as the others went in pairs.
"I apologize that your partner is not here with you..." she said. Hui opened his mouth to speak but closed it in worries that his silly complaints would disrupt her smooth, beautiful flow of words that came in such a beautiful voice...not to mention lips. Besides, who needs a partner? Hui listened attentively as she told him that he basically had the power to shift things around while his future partner, who must be dreadfully disabled as they are taking far to long to get through a couple of trees, has the power to read minds. The Lovely Lady, as Hui had decided to name her, added that his power would be difficult and explained to him why he had been able to easily communicate with his foreign looking peers before planting his two legs back onto the grass. Hui gathered from the Lady's ongoing speech that they all had three choices. Either join a power hungry group, or a group that wants to stop the power hungry one or remain nuetral. Well, neutrality never hurts. Especially since it has such an endearingly low death rate. However, Hui's mind wavered when he heard the last part. "For those who follow the path to stop them, I shall be waiting for you on the cliff of the mountain with a large tombstone and a white flag. There I will answer any questions you still have." Then she drifted up and disapeared, taking some of the sunlight with her. This increased Hui's suspicion on the existence of deities but he brushed it off as he started to ponder on another thought. There were many inquiries he had for this lady, one being a question on whether or not she was single or had an angry father. The others included, her name, where she lived and most importantly, whether or not he could take his future partner's gift. If his partner had died on the trip here, as many poor travelors had done so before him, then maybe Hui was entitled to snatch his partner's power as well. Hui grinned wickedly before standing upright in surprise at a female scream. Realizing the scream actually contained words, Hui turned curiously at girl who was hurling them out. She was thin and had strange clothes. Then again, everyone here had strange clothes. The others might think of his clothes being strange as well. Another boy tried to calm the girl, which he succeeded in doing for barely a minute or two before she lashed out and attacked him. Hui laughed at the display. Such a fierceness in a girl! Back in the village, there was nothing like that. Most of the girl couldn't even walk properly, due to their stupid mothers who were convinced that making one's foot smaller than a rice bowl made a girl beautiful. Somehow the men in the village enjoyed having useless wives that they could lord overanyways. The ones that didn't have bound feet were usually servants or workers who were still too timid to his liking. A white haired girl seemed to suffer some sort of heart attack and dropped into a fetus position. After a while she sat back up, the only signs of her trauma being her shaking disposition. Another female, whose hair reminded Hui of straws, screamed as she too suffered the pain of calling her name and after her afliction, stuggled to stand up. Hui blinked twice when he saw blood streaming down on her. Running over to get close to the both of the girls. Hui reached out to steady the bleeding one but almost withdrew last-minute due to a passing thought that suggested contact would harm him as well. He bit his lip as he thought about the Lady's words. Call out my full name and get my power like these guys, he thought with worry as he casted a glance at the injuries the others were sustaining due to it. "I-I'll have to think about it," Hui said to himself with uncertainty weighing down on his thoughts. Holding his ground as several strong gusts of winds came out onto the field, he squinted at the guy with the shoulder length hair who was slightly hovering above ground before gradually ceasing his power and running over to yet another female who had also called out her full name. Yup, I'm definently postponing my name callin'...at least until I can find that evasive herb which can numb my body for it Noticing another strangely dressed person strolling into his eye range, Hui had a small feeling that this guy was going to be his partner. Judging by the shape of his eyes, Hui thought the man might be an exile of the Yamato Village seeing as he doesn't dress like one. He also had an unatural looking hairstyle that needed to be brushed down with the nearest branch of pine this forest had. Looking back down on the girl, he remembered that it was the animal owner Nana and asked frantically "Areyouok?Wait,no,ofcoursethatmusthurt.Isthereanyt hingIcando?Ah,there'saplantforstoppingbleedingsome whereoverhere!" Hui slowed down to suck in a breathe before realized he had been talking to fast. (heh, first I was groaning after looking at your superlong posts but I've managed to do one to equal you people! Also Aru, thank you so much for putting an explanation for Hui :D) |
Breathing heavily, Ava slowly looked around, gasping as she saw the girl engulfed in flames. "Holy crap!" She yelled, standing up quickly. A little too quickly. The same stabbing pain appeared, but this time it was only in her head. Ava winced, holding onto the sides of her head with her hands and going back down to her knees. Slowly, like a headrush, it went away, and she stood up a bit slower. No stabbing pain this time, which made her quite relieved to say the least. She ran over to the girl, standing next to Crim, since he was really the only person that she knew. Crim could fly and Ava could control metal. Both of those were unable to help the flaming girl. Ava bit her lip, her mind racing, wondering what to do, but then a boy ran over and grabbed her arm, seeming to heal her and calm her down.
Ava sighed in relief as the flames died down, and was about to take the cloak out of her backpack to cover the girl when she asked for clothes. It was probably embarassing to have your clothes burned off by your own powers. Even though Ava thought it would be pretty cool to have the power to control the element of fire, it seemed as though it was a hard element to control in the first place. However, before she had the chance to even open her backpack, a very attractive-looking male with a punkish look came out of the forest and tossed some clothes to the fire girl. Ava raised an eyebrow at him. Wow... He's REALLY.... attractive! She thought to herself. Ava looked over in slight surprise and interest when she saw Crim hide behind Zephyr, looking at the attractive newcomer nervously. "What's wrong?" She asked, raising an eyebrow at him. Before he could answer, though, the newcomer spoke to him. They obviously knew each other by the way the newcomer spoke to him. And by the way the newcomer spoke, it was also obvious to Ava that he was probably a bully to Crim back in their town. When he called Crim a crybaby, Ava got really ticked off. She hated people that belittled or bullied others. "Hey! Don't call him that!" She said, standing in front of Zephyr and Crim, glaring at the attractive boy. Ava had been called many nasty names during her lifetime due to the way she looked and acted, so she wouldn't stand for anyone else to be treated poorly. She hadn't known Crim for very long, but she could already tell that he was a very sweet and caring person. ((Ahhh... Bit short, but oh well. XP)) |
It takes only a moment for the pain to melt away once Sakyo is healed. He made no mention of hearing what she had said. There seemed no importance in it, just more words picked up by his sensitive ears. Raphael watches as the girl struggles to her feet. All he could do is merely shake his hand, and then push himself up. A new person joins their party and Raphael turns to hear him speak. "Do you know him well?" he whispers to Sakyo. Though he blames it on no more than imagination, he can not help, but to be suspicious of the new arrival. Perhaps it is his over friendliness. Raphael looks for other expressions among the group, but it seems as though most are still recovering from their painful experiences. He only notices that Crim has a fearful look on his face. His eyes linger a moment on Zephyr and Emelia to see what they would do, then Ava speaks out. All he does is smirk. She is defiantly bold, he has to admit. Soon however his attention goes back to Kyoko. "Pardon me, if I sound rude, please, but what attachment do you have with Haru? I mean friend, acquaintance, stalker? Short version please, I'm rather short of attention, and don't mean to pry, just curious."
It is to soon to say that he has formed an attachment to the girl, rather than so far she seems the type to be very picky of allies, and at this moment this guy does not seem her type. But of course he knows better than to judge, he has barely known this girl for more than a few hours. Which is why he has to blame his suspicion on imagination, though Crim's avoidance of him does not help at all. All aside, Raphael wonders why he even bothers to care. Haru seems to be more than capable of taking care of herself. She certainly does not need him to baby sit her, especially not being nearly or already in her adulthood. The voices keep ringing in Nana's ears, they are only slightly muffled out by her hands. All of a sudden though, she hears a voice. One that broke through the others in a way that it is unlike them and she had heard it before, among this group. She opens her eyes and looks towards Hui, tears now pouring down her cheeks. In her weakness she reaches towards him, but then withdraws, dropping down to her knees once more. "I can barely hear you, but please keep talking. It helps to focus." She wraps her arms around her body, Nana can feel herself trembling. It is both out of fear and out of pain. "I'm sorry if I'm scaring you.... To be honest... I'm scared.... I didn't think... that... this gift... would cause me so much pain...." Nana tries to suppress a scream. There were to many voices, to many emotions, to many memories rushing into her mind at once. She smiles weakly. "I guess this is what I get for being so childish, huh? Papa would have surely hit me with his cane by now." Nana is glad to have someone by her side. Someone who seemed of her kind. She still is grateful for her gift, but she is afraid she would never learn to control it. Nature has a will of its own, she was raised to believe that. How could she gain control over something so mighty? She felt so weak, and useless. How could she help their world, if she could barely help herself? All these thoughts of failure did not help her to focus, it just made her loose herself more. The thought of being controlled by the forest slips into her mind, such a tragedy it would be. Her people would be laughing at her right now. 'Oh, how the beauteous butterfly has torn her wings. Grace shall never set sight upon her again,' they would say. They always thought she thought more of herself than what she did. |
((No prob! :D Figured I had to come up with SOME explanation as to why Hui could suddenly speak lol xD
I hope I'm not like... replying too fast or anything O.o Do ya'll think I should reply, since I very well can... with everyone bugging Kyoko lol, or do you think I should wait?)) |
((Do it! Reply! XD))

((I think I will when I come back :D I feel like going for a walk))

There was a lot going on, perhaps it was a bad idea for so many people to activate their powers at once. Emily nearly panicked when she heard Nana-Haru scream as well, the hairs on the back of her neck standing on end. How painful this was for so many, had anyone had a peaceful transformation? Emily was torn between running to Nana-Haru's side or to someone else's. However the brief touch to her shoulder snapped her out of the state of shock she was in. She withdrew her hand from Crim's arm, the boy started crying making Emilia feel horrible.
All he could do was fly, he was right. It was so unfair for her to ask him for help, however Zephyr earned trust from Emily by saying what he had about everyone working together. After staring at the two guys for a moment she whipped her head around to look at the inflamed girl. Well she saw that someone else was at her side, and the flames were dying down as a gust of wind swept the clearing, Emilia braced herself, lifting an arm against any flying debry. Soon the girl was left without any severe burns and with a very immodest appearance. Feeling heat on her cheeks Emilia looked away by looking at the ground near Crim's feet. "I-I'm sorry.." She spoke quietly. Emily turned to walk back over to Hui and Nana-Haru seeing as things had started to settle down. Too much chaos in the matter of moments left the girl feeling as if she had just been dreaming the whole event, however someone knew walked into the clearing, drawing the attention of many. She turned to look at him too, he was definitely strange.. and his eye color completely unsettled Emily. What unsettled her even more was Crim's fright of him, and that he seemed familiar. Frowning she took Ava's example and stood closer to Zephyr so that Crim had more than one person to hide behind if he liked. Even though Emilia had her head low so that her hair hung in front of her face so that she looked like someone who was quite afraid and submissive, she had settled an uncanny glare on the newcomer. It seemed no one was comfortable with his presence. The hawk that had lead Emilia to the clearing swooped down, ruffling Kyoko's hair before he landed on Emilia's shoulder. "Izaya, I will be fine.. please go sit with Nana-Haru instead." Ruffling his feathers with indignation he took the the air anyway, going over to Nana-Haru and Hui where he landed on the ground and cocked his head to the side curiously, settling one fierce eye on Nana. |
((I told Malice I'd wait on him before posting since his character was spoken to XD))

Hui nodded to Nana's request and thought for a moment on what he could try to chatter about. His mind rested on her words that hinted at her upbringing. "Sounds like a pair of tough parents," he muttered ",but then again, better tough than none. Of course, I liked to think that I turned out just fine without them and perhaps even better." If Hui had been raised by his human parents, then he'd probably be just another boring old farmer by now. Sometimes there was a faint feeling in the back of his mind that felt like he was missing out on something by not having one but that was something that was easily forgotten after a nice cup of oolong tea.
Striking some inspiration, Hui began ",well, there's this tale that a village story teller once told. It was about a pretty maiden, like yourself, who was found by a woodcutter inside a bamboo. She was a small baby but grew up to be a beautiful and normal sized human. Her looks were praised so much that even the emperor went to see her. She rejected him, along with every other suitor that came asking for her hand. Her parents grew rich from all the presents that were coming in. However she did not belong on earth and the girl longed for home. Once day, a fox spirit with a grand horse came and told her that the spirit realm had lifted her banishment and she rode back with him and lived happily ever after." Hui furtively knew that he had somewhat tweaked the story but it probably didn't matter. He smoother her bangs and petted her head in a manner which he used to use to comfort injured animals. A hawk landed nearby and tilted it's head to look at Nana. Hui had no free hands so he made a few ugly faces to catch the birds attention. "Shoo," he hissed ",this is not a dead body." Then it dawned upon him that this was not a vulture. Still, the bird's unyeilding gaze seemed to be a glare and challenge to Hui as he locked onto a stare down with the bird. Must...not...blink....hoshit my eyeballs are dry. Hui eyelids closed and during that milisecond the bird had looked away from him as though in disdain and scorn at his pitiful opposer. Biting his lip, Hui struggled with the urge to let go of Nana and seize a stone to throw a the bird. "I'll show you," Hui said darkly to the pint-sized animal who seemed to look at him with a silent message that said 'just try it'. |
Celeste had remained quiet, and near the edge of the clearing. She was trying to be as invisible as she possibly could be. Figuring it was working, since no one seemed to really notice her, she just observed.
It wasn't too long after that she watched the Goddess appear, and she had to shield her eyes from the sudden burst of light. She watched in surprise as two by two the people in the clearing were being lifted into the air and given a sort of power. When she felt herself being lifted, her dark chocolate brown eyes widened in fear. The Goddess seemed gentle, but being in the air wasn't Celeste's thing. When she heard that her power was darkness, she wondered why. Being put back down on the ground, Celeste watched the Goddess, awestruck. She couldn't speak, she couldn't move, she could only watch. When the Goddess left, Celeste could immediately hear screaming from all around her. The woman controlling plants seemed to be in agony, the stubborn was had been engulfed in flames and she could smell the burning flesh. Was this meant to torture the people here? Or help them? She wondered what would happen if she said her full name. She continued to watch as Raphael, her supposed 'partner' if she so chose, helped the woman in flames. Haru, or Sakyo as people called her. Celeste wrapped her arms around her small upper body as she took a few steps back. She was now back to the edge of the forest, and she wasn't sure she wanted to be around these people when she said her name. She didn't want to be embarrassed by what could happen to her. Another step back, and she faltered, almost bumping into a new individual, someone who hadn't been there yet. She watched as he walked over, somehow knowing Crim and Haru. He introduced himself as Kyoko, but Celeste didn't much care for the newcomer. She wanted to hide, and see what this power would do to her body. With no one looking, she slipped into the forest several feet, and bit her bottom lip. "Celeste Anne" she whispered to herself. All of a sudden her mind clouded up, and all she could think of was darkness. She felt like she was back to that day when her father had died, and she had truly felt empty inside. Tears streamed down the girls face as she looked at her hands. She was glowing, a dark purple colour, and she could feel herself gritting her teeth. It wasn't physically hurting her, but mentally hurting her. She let out a cry as she put her hands to her face. Her world was spinning, and the world around her was growing dark. What if the darkness engulfed her, and she was never able to escape? She took a deep breath, wiping the tears as she felt cold, and alone. She began shaking in fear, hoping that if she calmed down, maybe she wouldn't be engulfed. After what seemed like forever, the dark glow faded, and the bad memories stopped clouding her mind. She sat on the ground, hugging her legs, still shaking. Her cheeks were stained with tears. |
((I added a poll :) It'd be cool if everyone voted!
I totally forgot to add options for people with more than one character D: So just choose something for one of your characters, okay? I just wanted a good estimate :D and don't go off who voted to choose your path! You can also change your path at ANY given time, I'm just curious as to what you will choose for now :3 But yes! Just vote, don't check the poll results before doing so. Imma just vote for Crim XD lol EDIT: Imma post hopefully soon~~~ Malice has to quit. His parents took away his computer and are forcing him into therapy. I am NOT opening his spot, I find it pointless to do so, but I'm not gonna wait for him. He flat out told me not to. XD so ja.)) |
((Time to move on~~ Since I was waiting on Malice, who has to quit, and Sane told me to move on without here :D So, ya'll get a reply like you wanted! I do hope everyone has voted :3 This just helps me a bit.
And before ANYONE gets confused due to Sakyo... I shall describe her using the name SAKYO, since it is her name, but since she has introduced herself as HARU and the goddess even called her HARU, everyone must follow suit unless she ever decides to reveal her real name :D Figured I should essssplaaaain.)) "You do not know him as I do, miss," Kyoko's crimson eyes locked onto Ava's sapphire orbs with a slight smirk. Then the newcomer carefully scanned over the others before letting out a soft chuckle. "It appears only Crim and I come from the same location.... I am surprised you were willing to leave Fredrickson's so easily. Won't your mother worry of you? I appreciate lacking responsibilities..." |
Eirian was snapped out of her thoughts as people around her started screaming. While the awakening of her powers had been intense but painless, others seemed to be suffering in agony. One girl, the one who was her counterpart, was being consumed by her power. Others collapsed as unseen forces began to torture them from within. Then there were those like Nana-Haru who were assailed by a physical force. She noticed that only one or two others experienced no apparent pain when they released their powers.
When things were finally begining to calm down, someone new appeared. He strode into their midst with an air of arrogant confidence. Aria could tell immediatly that he was not human, but instead a demon. Most people couldn't hide from her sense; she was too adept at reading auras and body language. He immediatly familiarized himself with Haru and seemed to already be aquainted with Crim. She wasn't quite sure what to think of this new guy. She seemed open enough and not by any means shy, though he seemed to hold a cocky self-image that she didn't quite care for. Of course, if she had to, Eirian could pretty much deal with anybody. Looking around, she noticed that one girl was missing. If Aria recalled correctly, it was the one Hui had introduced as Celeste. She couldn't see the dark haired girl anywhere, but she could still feel her prescence. It seemed that she had just moved off into the trees, trying to seclude herself. Deciding that this might not be something to go through alone, Aria went after her. When she finally came upon Celeste, she was sitting on the ground, hugging herself tightly as tears stained her face. Remembering that Celeste's element had been dark, Aria could only imagine what her awakening had been like. Crouching next to the shaking girl, she spoke softly to her. She would have placed a comforting hand on her arm, though she wasn't sure how the girl would feel about it. "Looks like you had it pretty rough," she said, her voice full of sympathy. "I'd say you got off better than some of the others, but sometimes mental pain can be worse than physical. Can I do anything for you?" Eirian like outgoing people, but one of her favorite side projects was getting shy people to open up. Plus, the maternal nature she had developed over the past few years caring for her siblings was taking over. ((Sorry I haven't posted in a while. My internet has been pretty much dead. We've been getting one or two minutes of coverage a day for the past few days. It's fixed now though. Yay!)) |
