"hmmmm.." Azek paused a minute. For he couldn't take his mind of his dream. Ice and Ashes?. Then he remembered that Fallish had asked a question. " She's very gifted and her ability is different..." He stared off to where the subject of their conversation was talking with another fairy. A wind fairy. Someone he didn't recognize. Then he smiled up and grinned. " but i like her..uh... personality. It must be hell to be an ice fairy right?" He noticed the Fallish's face blanched then he realized his mistake. " Kinda being like a fire fairy as well?"
He looked down again and noticed another one. He was just about to bring this to the fire fairy's notice when he felt something. He veered off away from her and sniffed at the air. Then staring of the horizon he confirmed it. A storm, strong and powerful. Only then did he notice the humidity. |
"I'm a fairy of the air and wind." Anila smiled, the other fairy's happiness rubbing off on her. "Just like... her." she added, looking up as the girl called out and realising she was a wind fairy too.
She'd also been too busy being curious about the ice fairy in this part of the forest to notice the storm coming. She frowned to herself as she stared at it, full of mixed feelings. She loved to fly about in storms and ride the air currents but she had a bad feeling about this one. At least the humidity meant the water taken out of her precious air by the fairies earlier to do tricks was replenished and then some, but it would fuel the storm. "There's a storm coming." she said rather suddenly, staring at it. "I have to go." With that, she flew off at high speed to deal with it. |
Serena was concerned. She'd never encountered a storm other than a snowstorm. Granted, snowstorms had the potential to be very dangerous, deadly even. Even she, an ice fairy, never went out during a snowstorm. But she had no experience with anything else, and it worried her. She didn't know what to do to prepare, what to do during the storm, or even what to expect. She took a few deep breaths to calm herself and quickly flew around her tree, fortifying it in preperation for the storm. Satisfied with her work, she looked up into the air and saw her new friend, Azek. She smiled lightly, her heart bursting with faith and hope that he would protect her from the storm. "I trust you, Azek... I know you won't let me down" she said, even though she knew he probably couldn't hear her. She flew up to the hole in the tree, flew in, and froze off the entrace thickly, hoping it would be enough.

Fallish looked at Azek strangely at his comment about life as a fire fairy. Before she could reply though, he had pointed out a storm was coming. She didn't feel any humidity because all the water around her evaporated before reaching her skin, but she looked over at Phen, worried about her. She didn't seemed too bothered, but she didn't like to get drenched. Suddenly, Phen was gone, back into flames that were stored within Fallish's body. Then she looked at Serena, thinking about how the rain might melt some of the ice. But I can't help that...I'd only make it worse... She wanted to help so bad, but being a fire fairy with so much power, it wasn't prossible. Unless...
She looked at Azek, hoping he'd agree, especially since he'd already slipped and said he liked Serena. "Please, keep Serena safe. I can evaporate the water from up here, but i can't get close to her tree without melting it." She thought Azek and Serena make a cute couple, if only he'd ask her out. Maybe they'll get to know each other better from this. |
"Yeah ok.." He stared off worried. He remembered the last time he had seen snow...and how it melted in the rain. Without thinking he spoke, " i can control and shape water, but not for long... and i'm pretty sure this one's not going to pass quickly."
He smiled up at her. " Let's do our best." together they flew down though Fallish had to stop before he got near. Without hesitation Azek flew near and tapped at the iced tree. " Serena?" From the corner of his eyes he could already see the storm clouds gathering not to far away. |
Serena heard tapping at her frozen door followed by Azek's muffled voice. She smiled and flew over to the door to unfreeze it. "Azek!" she greeted with a smile, the sight of him instantly washing out all fear she had of the upcoming storm. She noticed that the sky had gotten darker and she instantly felt a little nervous. Fueled by her nervousness, she found herself rushing forward slightly until she was hugging Azek. Upon realizing her action, she desperately wished that he didn't mind... his presence comforted her and she's never felt so scared before in her life.
|
Fallish smiled down on the two fairies. She didn't want to interrupt them, so she let them be, preparing herself to form a fire barrier in the sky when the storm hit, creating an umbrella. She didn't make it just yet, but as soon as the storm hit, she'd be ready.

"That's great Aaralyn!" Louis clapped at her disguise, "No one will suspect you for now. Alright, for now let's go get something to eat and come back here so that you can rest up again. I'm sure you're hungry too after a trip like this."
The guards then came back in over hearing about them being hungry. One of them replied, "If you want food then go to the middle plaza of this city. That's where most of our market places are. The wolf may go with you but in one condition; it has to wear a muzzle. We don't want our citizen's to think that the animal might have a chance to hurt someone." |
Aaralyn gasped, appalled at the idea of Mora wearing a muzzle. The big white wolf wasn't too happy with it either. She lept up and bared her fangs, snarling, flattening her ears against her head. "How dare you! I will not wear a muzzle!" She growled, snapping her large jaws at the guards. "Hush, Mora!" Said Aaralyn, hopping out of the tub of water and petting the top of Mora's head, trying to calm her down. The fairy girl looked at the guards pleadingly. "She won't have to wear a muzzle if she stays here, right? Then Louis and I will go alone, and will bring you back something. I promise." She assured Mora, looking at her companion hopefully. Mora nodded and layed back down, though her golden gaze was still glared upon the guards angrily.
|
"We have no problem if the wolf were to stay here," The guards replied to Aaralyn, "we will keep her on watch though."
"Well," Louis spoke out, "try not to mess with her too much. She might just bite ya." He laughed at his little comment. The guard didn't look to amused. Clearing his throat Louis turned to Aaralyn, "Alright, let's get going." As the two left, one of the guard gave the two of them a map of their city. As shown on it, right in a middle was a marketplace where all of the citizens can go to make trades and buy food for their family. As the two made their way down a flight of stairs, up ahead of them came a view of a swarm of people, trying to get passed each other as they wandered through the market. The stores were all located to the left and right of the citizens, making the middle part of the marketplace a long straight road to the other side of the city. If the two didn't be careful they could get lost in the crowd since this place is still new to them. "So," Louis turned to Aaralyn, "where would you like to go? Are you hungry?" |
He could feel the blood rushing to his face and warmth in spite of her coldness. He bit his lip and gently hugged her back. I'll protect you from where this feeling came he had no idea.. only that he was so sure.
After a long moment they stood there not moving until it was he who stood back. Azek smiled a her knowing that it might reassure her. "It's alright. Fallish is already up there and she can protect this tree." although her control isn't that good judging by what I've seen of her. But then he remembered Fallish's determined face and let it be. He should be doing what he can. "I'll be protecting you from near here so...it should be alright" Even as he spoke the first of the large drops started it's fall. "you'll be safe here.." He flew up and around the tree readying himself. |
Aaralyn looked at the guards a bit nervously and patted Mora on her head before leaving with Louis. She looked around at the strange city, and ended up almost losing Louis in the process. She made a little surprised squeaking noise as they came into contact with the large crowds of people. They shoved and jostled the water fairy as they went passed. She wasn't used to such chaos, since back home everyone got out of the way for royalty. So, not really thinking, she grabbed onto Louis' arm and clutched his arm to her chest to keep him near. "Um... Yeah... I guess I'm pretty hungry." She said, looking around nervously at the large crowds.
|
Serena smiled as she watched Azek fly away. She let out a big breath of air that she wasn't aware she was holding. She flew back into the tree and sealed off the entrance, she knew she could do nothing but make the storm worse, because of her specialty in ice. So she would just ride out the storm in her tree, and trust Azek and Fallish to take care of her. She felt comfort knowing that she had friends that cared enough for her to protect her.
|
Anila had now reached the centre of the beginnings of the storm and was now analysing its structure to see how it worked so that when she prevented it, there would not be a severe backlash on the weather afterwards. She saw it was not a simple storm and a slight frown came to her face. However she did not dwell on this for she knew she had to concentrate in order for this to work.
|
Ice wakes up on a rock in the middle of the pond. she stretches her arms she looked at the sky and saw a storm brewing. noticing a ice fairy hanging on to a tree. wondering what is going on she flies to the ice fairy and yawns "Whaaaaats going on?"
|
Serena heard a voice on the other side of the frozen door. She flew over and revealed the fairy, a water fairy... I think, she thought. At that moment, she remembered the fairy's question. "Um... nothing, really. There's a storm brewing... a rather large one as well. Beyond that, nothing really" she said, confused at the fairy's question.
|
The storm was almost upon them. Winds were beginning to make themselves known. he looked back and found Serena again out and talking to another fairy someone unknown to him. He stared at the fairy recognizing the appearance of a wind element fairy. where do this fairies come from? he wondered than remembered he had a tree and a friend to protect.
He prepared himself as he often did in his childhood building up what he wanted in his mind. A flash of mournful memories passed his eyes and he shook his head. Never again |
"May I come in?" Ice asks politely. she turns while waiting for an answer and sees the storm. she turns back to the Ice fairy and says "by the way my name is Ice whats yours?"
|
Serena gave a bright smile, her signature trademark it seemed. "Of course you may come in. I'm Serena, a pleasure to meet you, Ice" She said and froze the door off after Ice had entered the tree. Oh dear... what am I supposed to talk about it? Serena thought as she realized that it was silent "so... it souds like a pretty big storm. Do you have much experience with storms?" Serena asked the fairy.
|
Fallish made the fire umbrella when the rain started to pour. She had to keep her umbrella fairly thin so it could expand over the area of Serena's tree, and still be able to control it easily. Most of the rain evaporated as she made her thin barrier amazingly hot, but some water managed to slip through. All this power, and I can only control enough to get most of the water...I'll have to practice more afterwards. Even though her barrier was so hot, a major part of the heat rose, keeping the tree safe from her. What heat did reach toward the tree was absorbed again by Fallish, and returned to the barrier in a constant, fluid motion of energy.
|
She was good with a more practice better... Azek smiled and batted the remaining droplets away from the tree. this was an easy task. He took a deep breath and began to concentrate on an skill that had often despaired him. But he chased away the feeling of failure and again tried after almost years ...to stop the storm. He remembered his father's disappointment and his mother's acceptance. we may have the power of the elements but more often than not..it is the elements that control our life than us he whispered the aged proverb and silently asked his mother forgiveness. He smiled " i'm going to try again mother.."
With that he closed his eyes and opened his whole body to the water around him. Every tree and shrub and flower and most of all the pulsing rain clouds. |
"no I haven't." Ice replies. She looks around and is surprised to see that the walls and doors are all made out of ice. she suddenly shivers violently. "Is it always this cold in here?" Ice asks.
|
Serena smiled "of course, I froze the tree. I'm an ice fairy, I couldn't possibly live without ice. Every now and then it starts to melt from the climate so i'm left with cold water, but it's easily fixed. I'm curious about this storm, I've never experienced anything but a snowstorm before so I don't know what to do. Thankfully I have friends that are protecting my home from the storm" Serena said with her signature smile. "What about you, what do you like to do?" she asked Ice.
|
In the centre of the storm, quite a while off from the Ice Tree and everyone else, Anila sensed the water in the storm was doing something, moving. She sensed a male water fairy pulling water to him. Why was he doing that? He'd make it worse! The storm would move to him and because the weather was disrupted, more storms would follow, as bad as this. Anila flew around in the storm and tried to make the best of things with her power. She'd have to stay in this area for a week to get the weather back in shape. It was such a fragile but powerful force.
|
"I like to swim and splash but storms are dangerous due to the lightning." Ice replies shivering again. she looks out the window to see that the storm is moving funny. she mentions this to Serena: "is it just me but is the storm moving differently?"
