Welcome to a world of medieval fantasy. You have entered a magical land filled with monsters from the small and quirky to the huge and beastly. This is a place where forests are deep and dark and go on for miles, towns are small and filled with charismatic locals, and there are always vast dungeons in the forms of caves, ancient ruins, and towers that rise to the heavens filled with treasure and adventure abound. Be what you desire and play as you will. The following are my rules and guidelines:
1. You cannot god-mode. What is "god moding?" God moding is deciding what happens to another person's character for them. Other people will decide how to respond to you on their own terms. However, that's not to say we shouldn't all try and respond appropriately. Please pay attention to those interacting with you.
2. I don't care what silly powers you have, but please try and limit yourself to make things more interesting. I reserve the right to decline characters that are so powerful that they're boring. And trust me, you have to go pretty far for that; capable of destroying the planet far (point in case: no Dragon Ball Z bull crap).
3. Have fun in your exploration of an open, imaginative world, but keep in mind that there is no technology and magic rules along with more simple weapons like swords, axes, bows, and fists are the primary deciders of any combat.
4. Relationships of all kinds are encouraged; romantic ones, rivalries, friendships, nemeses, etc. All is in good fun and these are the things that make a story truly come to life, so try interacting with a number of people in the RP, not just one.
As for a profile Skeleton which you can use to send to me your through a private message, here you go:
Username: (Your Username on Menewsha)
Name: (Your character's name for this RP)
Race: (Your race, as selected from those listed below)
Age: (Your characters age, usually relative to race)
Height: (Your character's height, consider your race)
Personality: (What is your character like in person?)
History: (Where does your character come from? How did they become who they are today? Feel free to make up things up, use that creative thing in your brain called imagination. It's quite a useful tool for these fantasy roleplays.)
Equipment: (Anything of relevance your character might have on them such as weapons, magical items, armor or protective gear, or any items they are visibly carrying which might have any particular importance.)
Abilities: (You character's unique talents. Are they good with weapons, magic, martial arts, acrobatics, crafting certain items or weaponry, picking pockets as well as locks, you name it. Your character's expertise is up to you.)
Appearance: (Pictures are preferred, please)
Races:
Human - Humans are unique beings which are adaptable to any number of talents. You should know a lot about this race, considering that you are one.
Elf - Usually a little thinner than humans but varying a lot more in height, elves are usually particularly adept with magic or with swords and bows. Though they are not generally as strong or tough as some of the other races, they are not only physically quick, but also quite quick-witted. Elves don't reach adulthood until they are at least a hundred years old and don't die until a little over a millennium.
Dwarf - A short and stout race. Though they may not be as tall as some of the other races, they certainly are tough; try to wrestle with one and they'll likely put you in your place. Dwarves like metal and are often good with heavy armor and weapons, but they also make good craftsmen and healers. They reach adulthood after about 50 years and generally live up close to 300.
Orc - These massive beings are not only generally taller than humans, but are always quite thickly muscled. Strong and tough, but lacking in mental capacity, orcs make great berserkers. They prefer heavy weapons and using their brute force to defeat enemies. Orcs reach adulthood a couple years sooner than humans and generally pass away by their sixties or seventies.
Goblin - A short, thin, and quirky lot. Goblins are not very strong or tough, but they are very crafty and also quite good with their hands. They are excellent craftsmen and are also very adept with magic as well as with some of the less lawful talents like those involved in making poisons, traps, and in stealing from others. Their lifespan is surprisingly similar to that of a human.
Celestial - Said to be descendants of the most ancient beings to roam this world, they have a strong connection to magic of all kind, especially those capable of healing living creatures, destroying the undead, and bringing bane to the evils of this world. Physically, it is often hard to tell them from humans. They reach adulthood about as quickly as humans, but generally live almost twice as long.
Fiendish - Fiends can vary greatly due to their vast origins. Some are vampires and other undead, some demons or devils, other descendants of beasts or monsters that have become more humanoid than their feral or primitive ancestors. Physical structure, age, and talent can vary greatly between them as well. Understand that fiends are not always evil, either, and some beings considered fiendish may even just be animal-like humanoids.

History: Dyne is from a small coast town called Sandport. A bastard child, he was raised by his mother alone and often ran off to go stealing from ships at the port. But one day, he found himself caught on board still when the ship set sail and when the pirates among is found him, the captain took him as a servant, threatening young Dyne's life. Dyne spent a number of years traveling on ship with this crew and became friendly with some of them, eventually becoming a pirate himself. Over the years, he developed a style of fighting all his own battling alongside the pirates and he learned to survive by being strong and taking what he wanted for himself. Eventually, this led to him taking back his freedom when the pirates one day returned to Sandport and Dyne left them behind, returning to his mother only to find that she had past away of disease a few years before his return. Unable to return to the ship of the former comrades he deserted, Dyne snuck into his old house and pulled up the floorboards to get back some of the fortunes he had stolen from ships as a child before setting out into the world. Today, Dyne is an explorer and a treasure hunter. He is the type to be found most commonly raiding ruins or otherwise working as a mercenary or bounty hunter for good enough coin.
Equipment: Dyne wields an unusual pair of identical curved swords which lack tips to their blades, but are obviously still capable of slashing with their sharp edges. These can usually be seen sheathed, hanging from his belt. He wears light clothing and two leather pouches adorn his belt; a small black one and a much larger brown one. However, it is difficult to tell their contents just by looking.
Abilities: Dyne is highly proficient in wielding his dual blades. He moves quickly and strikes accurately, often using acrobatic gambits to evade his opponent's attacks and strike at them from awkward angles. Excelling in acrobatic movements, Dyne has become capable of very high jumps, finely formed flips, and impressive tumbling maneuvers. Picking locks and disabling traps are another skill he has which he picked up in his pirating days.

History: Aaralyn lived in the forest of spirits with the rest of her people, and was the daughter of the royal family. She respected her duty as a princess, but would much rather have been born a warrior. She'd been trained since she was a child to use the bow, and was taught by the clan's greatest swordsman. Lately, her parents have been pushing the fact that she needed to get more into her duties as an elven princess. They even went so far as to force her to become betrothed to one of the higher-class warriors. That did it and just made her snap. Though his deity compels him to help others, he's never really needed that push to get him to interfere when others are in danger. Because he's tougher than most, he doesn't hesitate to defend anyone suffering, even if he must sacrifice him self to do so.
History: Growing up in Sheitu, a small Orc village was rather hard on Jaruk. He was pretty useless at hunting and his constitution was weaker than the other full blooded Orcs, so he was picked on and beaten constantly. His mother, who was Celestial, passed away soon after he was born and his father had been killed honorable in battle before Jaruk reached Orcan adulthood. Jaruk was thrown from his home and forced to deal with life on his own, since they had always considered him useless to begin with. It was a miracle he even survived to reach adulthood. This miracle was found within the church of Illmater a few years after leaving his community. It filled him with a new respect for those that suffered even more than he and he dedicated his life to the ideals of helping all those in need and to take others' burdens unto himself. It was there he also discovered he had the ability to heal, no doubt a gift from his late mother. He's often dispatched to the adventurer's guild and the surrounding areas to help those that are in need, but when not on duty, he travels about looking for others that could use a helping hand.
Equipment: Jaruk doesn't really have anything of value. He wears a light hooded robe with light clothes underneath. The only things he visibly carries are necessities such as food and water in a backpack. There is also a medal with a fist wrapped in cloth that he was given by the church.
Abilities: Though the church of Illmater is peaceful, it also stresses the importance of being physically tough along with the ability to heal to better defend others. Jaruk was trained in martial arts while at the church, so along with being physically tougher than most, he's actually quite agile. He's also adept in healing arts. However, his teachings entitle he is never to fight with a closed fist and only fights to protect, never to destroy.

Tarran sat by her low campfire cooking a squirrel and ginger. The day's events had been less than eventful, she hadn't seen anyone, and nothing of the ordinary happened, she had just walked. Granted the next ay she had to make it into a town so she could renew supplies and listen to the stories to see if there was anything worth investigating. She took the meat off of the fire and ate it carefully, noting that it was something she wasn't looking forward to having again anytime soon, but food was food and this celestial was hungry. She threw what she couldn't eat into the fire and relaxed on the ground looking at the stars and picking out the constellations.

Skipping between bushes and jumping over rocks and bubbling brooks, Mejimi was traveling aimlessly. She had just lost Oki's trail and didn't feel like picking it back up. It had been many years since she had last seen him and frankly, she had given up hope. Returning to the village wasn't an option, it was probably gone due to another fire or something cataclysmic, so she wandered. In the distance she could see a flicker of light and some smoke. Approaching closer, she could see a women laying down, her head tilted towards the stars.
"Hello," Mejimi greeted, stepping through a gap in the underbrush. "I'm Mejimi. You would be...?"
Oki walked through the town silently, letting the surrounding hustle and bustle swallow him. It never felt so good to be invisible, just another person in the crowd. He had always been the odd man out, someone to be feared and hated, now finally he could be ignored. Seeing an inn in the distance, he decided it would be nice to sleep in a bed indoors instead of outdoors in the forest as he had been for the past year and a half. Suddenly, as if he had been shaken awake while sleep walking, Oki started to move against the current of the crowd and merchants towards the inn.

"Tired." She turned her head to look at her intuder, seeing that she was female and some part celestial she talked for time. "Generally it would be unwise to enter someone elses campsite in the middle of the night, you could be mistaken for cut thought or another sort bandit, and if the owner of the fire happened to be a bandit it would be a bad thing for you. " Tarran sat up and glared at her visitor. "But seeing as neither one of us is, you're welcome to share the fire." She motioned to a spot by the fire. She wasn't so keen on sharing her name just yet, a name was a powerful gift and in the wrong hands it could control the person with the name. Evan celestials could be bended backward from her understanding of evil. And yet... "My name's Tarran." Maybe it was time to trust some one.

Dyne had been standing in the crowded main street of a town on which merchants were peddling a number of wares. It was quite loud, even now at this time in the evening as the sky became red with the sun setting over the horizon. Being one of the people among the crowd talking to one of the merchants himself, Dyne took notice seeing a fiend walking against the path, pushing his way through the crowd. Thinking he looked rather curious, Dyne quickly grabbed the bread from the merchant, dropped down the coin for it, and left without getting his change. Essentially shoulder-charging his way through the crowd, he probably would have knocked at least one or two fellows over making his way up to the fiendish young man. With his bread in hand, held close to his shirt, he would snap it in half and step up to the stranger, taking a bite of the bread in his right hand and handing the one in his left to Oki. "Hey, buddy, how's it goin'," he would ask, pushing up with the young fiend through the crowd of people, munching on his bread, which was freshly baked with herbs and cheese cooked in; still holding onto that right-out-of-the-oven smell quite well.

Aaralyn broke out of the trees, a bit out of breath. The trees had told her that a trio of warriors were on her trail, so she had run to where they said she would find a town. As usual, the trees were right. She stood there, overlooking a town bustling with people. She glanced over her shoulder, thanked the trees, and ran down the hill to the town. She'd been running for so long, and she was getting tired. She got to the outskirts of the street and ran into the main street of the town. Hiding behind a booth that was selling bread, she peeked up at the forest, where three male elven warriors appeared. One of whom was her betrothed. She cursed inside her head, gritting her teeth. As the warriors headed down the hill to the town, Aaralyn turned and ran some more, pushing past people. "Excuse me! Sorry! Please move!" She said as she pushed past the crowd, just trying to get away. She didn't even flinch when she bumped past/between two guys who were talking - a human and a fiend.

Jaruk blinked as he was brushed aside as he entered the town. From what he could tell, it was by an elvan woman who seemed to be in quite the rush. He lowered his hood to follow where she'd ran and raised his hand to call her, but by the time he was about to she had already disappeared into the crowd. However, her chasers were a bit reluctant to enter. He couldn't understand their banter because they spoke in their native tongue, but as they began to enter he stood between them and the gates. "Hello, friends." He said kindly in the common language used by most to communicate. From their attire, they seemed to be warriors, one of which looking more decorated than the others. They spoke once more with one another before addressing him.
"Remove yourself from our path, Orc. We have business to attend to."
Though he didn't look as brutish as the full bloods of his race, his grey skin, scarred face, and fanged teeth could easily identify him. However, he didn't take offense to the comment as he replied.
"I mean no disrespect, but it seems the lady you were after didn't want your company. I don't mind letting you pass, but would you please leave her alone?"
The most decorated of the three stepped forward and raised an arm to strike. Jaruk didn't move and let the blow connect to the center of his chest. There was an awkward moment of silence as the three elvan warriors awaited some response from the half orc. Jaruk hadn't even flinched from the blow and his kind different colored eyes looked to his assailant. In one swift motion, he grabbed the warriors hand and caused him to flip with a low kick, landing the poor warrior on his back. The move happened so quickly that the others only watched in confusion. By the time their leader had arisen, Jaruk was already making his way into town.
"I'll not bar your progress, but I won't let you do as you please either." With a short wave, he then blended with the sea of people in search of the young woman they seemed to be searching for.

Aaralyn had ended up running through the crowd and down a dark ally-way, where she leaned back against the wall and slid to the ground, gasping for breath. She hoped that they hadn't seen her run in there. She ran a hand through her hair as she tried to calm her breathing. She had been running for so long, and she was so tired, but she had to rest quickly and move on. Her ice blue eyes looked up at the sliver of sky that she could see through the top of the allyway.

Jaruk's search lead him to an alleyway where he could make out the figure of the woman sitting against a wall. Though it was indeed dark, this was actually when he excelled. Though it was a limited range, he could see perfectly in the dark. "Hello?" He spoke gently so he wouldn't startle her. From what he could tell, she seemed tired and was probably scared. He made a note not to approach her until she acknowledged him. He wanted to help her if he could, but he'd only be able to do that if she wanted help.

Dispite the gentle voice, the suddeness of it startled her and made her gasp and jump a little bit. She looked over at the entrence of the allyway and saw a man that looked to be half-orc. He surprised and frightened her a little bit, since she had never met an orc, and had been told nasty tales of them ever since she was a child, but one look into his eyes told her that he was kind. She could tell from his voice as well. She was just getting her breathing under control, and she gave him a small, weary smile. "Hello." She responded softly. Her eyes kept glancing behind him to see if the warriors would pass by the allyway or if they would see her.

He wasn't very surprised about her sudden reaction. Though his words were always kind, the scars and tattoos on his face were often enough to make anyone second guess his intentions. Jaruk waited until she seemed to ease up and spoke speak to him before speaking again. "You don't seem worse for where, but I don't think it's safe for you to be out here alone." He followed her gaze behind him and could tell she was probably looking for her followers. "Don't worry, I slowed the men down that were after you, but we can speak more about that in a safer place. Would you mind accompanying me to the inn?" Jaruk glanced through the crowd and thought he saw one of the warriors amongst them. After thinking the moment, he pulled off his hooded robe and walked to her, offering it to her. "Here, you may want to put this on to mask yourself for now."

"Why would you help me? You don't even know me, or why they're chasing me." She said slowly, tilting her head to the side slightly, confused. Then she blushed and looked down, forgetting her manors for a moment. She looked back up at him and nodded in greeting. "Thank you for helping me, though. I am Aaralyn Sarafina."

After she'd taken his robes, Jaruk rubbed his knuckles a bit. Both of his hands were wrapped in a red cloth, much like the symbol on the medal that dangled from his backpack. The rest of his attire were simple clothes, but like his face, what was visible of his body had rather obvious scars. At her questions, he only smiled warmly, still scanning the crowd. "The why isn't really important. It simply seems like the right thing to do. I usually have a knack for this sort of thing." He looked to her as she gave her name and thanks and he offered a short bow to her as he spoke. "I am Jaruk Yondi, Milady, and there's no need for thanks. It's my honor to help." After making sure their path was clear, he waved for her to follow him as he pushed his way through the busy evening to the inn.

Jaruk. She would remember that name. Aaralyn smiled softly to herself as she thought of him as the overly kind stranger. She looked up, keeping the cloak wrapped around her body, and saw when he gave the signal to follow him. She pulled the hood as far over her face as it would go, hiding her strange-colored hair and her long elven ears in shadow. Aaralyn followed closely behind Jaruk as he waded their way through the crowd, and kept her eyes down at his heels to hid her face.

From what he could tell, they weren't followed as they entered the inn. He looked around after opening the door to make sure none of the warriors had already made it there before holding the door for her to enter. The woman behind the counter smiled to them as they entered, though she gave Jaruk an unsure look before smiling once more. Jaruk seemed unphased and smiled back at the woman before turning back to Aaralyn. "You should be safe for now. At least enough to rest yourself." This would normally be where a question and answer session would be held, but he really had no need. He was sure she'd disclose what she wanted to and if she didn't that would be fine as well. "I'll be staying here for the time being, so if you need me, I won't be far." He gave her another friendly smile as he awaited her reply.

As soon as they got inside the Inn, Aaralyn moved away from the doors and windows, breathing out a sigh of relief as she took the cloak off, adjusting her bow and arrows on her back, and the sword on her belt. She smiled up at Jaruk and handed him back his cloak. "Thank you so much, Jaruk. You have no idea what you have done for me. Please, if there is anything I can do to repay you, just ask, and I will do all I can." She said, folding her hands in front of her and bowing slightly to him in gratitude. She truely was so greatful that this kind man had helped her, even though he didn't even know her.

The only other thing I would like to ask is if you have a place to stay this evening or funds for a room?" The young woman looked well enough off, but he couldn't help but ask the question anyway. There was a possibility that she did not and if so, it was something else he could help her with. It probably seemed strange, a complete stranger helping someone so selflessly, but that was was simply the way Jaruk was. It was the will of Illmater to give what you could of yourself and it was something He had practiced diligently. The scars he carried were proof of that.

Aaralyn blinked, looking rather confused by the term. "Funds?" Then she recalled from the stories she had heard that outside of the forest, you had to buy things with what was called money. That must have been what Jaruk ment. She looked down and frowned, realizing that she didn't even know what money looked like! She looked back up and smiled sheepishly at Jaruk. "I suppose I don't. Back in the For- um... Where I come from, we don't use money." She admitted. Aaralyn wondered if the elves of the Forest of the Spirits were the only people that didn't use money?

He'd heard tales of the Elves that lived in the Forest of Spirits during his travels, but he didn't make any assumptions. Instead, he nodded lightly to Aaralyn and walked to the counter to speak with the woman there. Though her words sounded friendly, anyone watching could tell she was still a bit uneasy around him. When he walked back to his Elvan companion, he handed out a key to her. "I only carried enough money for a small room to myself, but you are welcome to it." Was he mad? No, but it was a wonder how selfless he could be without skipping a beat. Even the woman behind the counter seemed to look to him in wonder. However, a warm smile continued to illuminate his scarred face as he waited for her to take the key. "It's the room down the hall, second on the right. Can you find it on you're own, or shall I escort you?"

Aaralyn's eyes widened, and she looked between the key and Jaruk in astonishment. "No! No! I can't impose on you like that!" She said, waving her hands in front of her. "You've already done so much for me without even knowing anything about me, I can't do that to you." She said, folding her hands in front of her chest, looking up at him in almost a guilty way. "I thank you so much for helping me, kind Jaruk, but I just can't take this much from you!" She smiled warmly. "I already owe you so much."

Though she had declined, Jaruk didn't relinquish the keys. They continued to sit in the pal of his hand as he thought for a moment. He was hard pressed to take no for answer. "How about this then, you pay me with your company. Tell me a bit about yourself and we'll call it even? Besides, without a place to stay for the evening, your followers may catch up with you." It wasn't a threat and he didn't make it sound like one either. It was a simple fact and he would have felt bad if his work had been undone simply because she was worried about repaying his kindness. This way, she could repay him and she would be safe. It seemed like an easy remedy for the situation. The question was, would it be alright with her?

Aaralyn looked up at Jaruk nervously, nibbling on her lower lip. She looked outside, her ice blue eyes narrowing slightly. She saw the logic in his words, and knew she had no choice. She sighed, and then smiled up at him. "I suppose I have no choice." She then nodded and reached out and took his hand gently. Aaralyn lead him back to the room, remembering easily the directions he had given her. She took the key from him and opened the door, glancing around before walking inside and waving for Jaruk to follow her. She set the keys down on the table and walked over to the bed and sat down, pulling her bow and arrows off her back and setting them down on the ground behind her feet. Then she folded her hands in her lap and looked up at Jaruk, smiling kindly. "So what is it you wanted to know?"

Following her into the room and closing the door behind them, the weary half-orc found a chair to rest himself in before turning at her question. It wasn't that he wasn't interested in what happened to her, but rather the fact that he respected her privacy. However, they had made a deal so he was compelled to try and ask something. He had the feeling she knew the question already, but he decided to ask it anyway. "I'm mainly wondering why such a sweet girl is being chased in the first place." His voice was calm and collected, but now that they were in a more relaxed environment, a bit of fatigue was beginning to overtake him. It had been a long journey to this town and he had yet to rest fully. However, this was yet another part of his training, so he would simply continue to grin and bare it as he awaited Aaralyn's answer.

Aaralyn's smile turning into a bit of a bitter one. "Well..." She hesitated for a moment, but reminded herself that she had made a deal, and would keep her word. "I was being chased because I ran away from my home. I'm from the largest elven city in the Forest of Spirits, and am the princess of the elves from my region. My family is determined to find me, and sent their three greatest warriors to do so." She left out a few things, like why she had run away, and that she had stollen the sword that hung on her belt.

Jaruk could tell it was an unsettling question for her to answer. He listened intently to her explanation and was unable to hide his surprise at finding out she was a princess. To be courteous he waited until she'd finished before saying anything himself. "A princess, you say? No wonder those men where so diligent in their pursuit. Well, you will be safe for now at least. I'm certain they will continue to search this town though so, it may be wise to come up with a plan before leaving." He didn't wish to pry in her matters any further so he wouldn't bother her with more questions. There was that and the fact she seemed reluctant to relinquish anymore than that. Those would be questions for another time though. Instead, Jaruk decided to change the subject as he began to rummage through the backpack he'd been carrying. "Did you remember to bring anything to eat, Princess? I'm not sure what you may be use to, but I'm willing to share what I have here for now." Afterall, what kind of gentleman would feed his face infront of a hungry young lady?
