Urban Strife: The American Dream (Gang Role-Play)

Premise:
The American Dream. It means a lot to people down and out. If you are on the lower end of society that is all you hope for. For some it takes a lifetime, for some it never happens. Some aren’t always willing to stay on the straight and narrow to get it.

Texas has never been a friendly state. Dallas likely takes the cake for crime though. Sure, the suburbs are safe, but traveling alone in a bad neighborhood is just the same as any other state. Many things happen here: Drugs. Theft. Murder. If you want to be part of the big leagues, you have to be in a gang. Being in a gang means having a family, people who will help you. It means one day if you play your cards right, you get to live the big life. Others won’t be so lucky though.

Being in a gang isn’t all that easy. It means never being on the right side of the law, and that’s a dangerous side to be on. Cops aren’t stupid either, they know how to deal with gangs. They will deal with people who break the law, and once you’ve been caught it’ll be years before you ever get out. Those who can fool them, outrun them, and beat them at their own game, are rewarded with power.

There are risks, and some things are worse than jail time. So when you ‘re a teen in Southern Dallas, with your whole life in front of you, what will you do?

Rules:
1. It’s an RP on Menewsha so if it’s against their rules it can’t be on here.
2. PM me your profile before you post. I am pretty generous with accepting profiles.
3. Godmodding or excessive character credentials are forbidden (explained below).
4. I realize this is a gang RP, but I would like to avoid unnecessary unpleasantness here. Violence in the RP is all fine and dandy, but sex and drugs should be downplayed so as to coordinate with Mene rules.
5. More rules will be posted as necessary.

Character setup:
Your character for the RP can be many different things. One thing to keep in mind though is that this is meant to be a low-power/high creative RP meaning that when and if fighting happens this is not an action movie. Godmodding, and excessive backstory to create inordinately skill characters will not be allowed (i.e. assault and theft as criminal history is acceptable, “trained as a child” or “experienced in combat” is not. For this reason military backgrounds are not acceptable either. As I said, creativity and planning are rewarded far more than raw Godmodding.

Background:
Essentially there is a reason why your character is valuable to a gang. It is your choice what that reason is, but keep in mind that it is unlikely your character is merely muscle. They can have skills that are profitable beyond fighting such as knowing how to steal a car or how to pick a lock. Just keep in mind that it should be something practical for a person still in High School to know.
Note: For those considering to be proficient in some sort of fighting that is allowed, but it is very unlikely anyone of such a young age is meaningfully skilled in actual fighting.

Record:
Having a criminal record isn’t necessarily bad. When meeting someone aware of your history it shows them what kind of person you are. For almost all crimes a criminal record establishes you as one of the gang. The drawback is that it allows the police to know you in a much more personal way (fingerprints, DNA, illegal for felons to own firearms).

Interaction:
For all inter-gang relations not involving a ranking member there is no need for interaction, but due to the limits of an RP (let’s face it, it’s unlikely to have a sizable force of both gang members and cops) I will be handling the role of law enforcement. If you are intending to commit a crime for either profit or to hinder law enforcement PM me a brief outline first This is just so that no one attempts anything drastic or out of their league, as well as so I can involve the proper characters.

Short Bio: Axel was raised in the easy life and as such has become spoiled and bored. Over the years he was trained in things intended to give self discipline and refinement such as martial skills, etiquette, polo, etc. lot of good that did. It just bored him even further until he picked up a bad boy streak.

When he became 15 he took up illegal street racing and has gained a certain set of skills that would make him valuable in a variety of gang activities on top of his money that makes him a useful asset to begin with. A year later he joined up with a gang with promises of excitement. While he may not be respected due to his personality it is again his wealth that makes him a valuable asset as well as an ally.

Appearance: Victoria has pale blue eyes and long brown hair that is often a mix between straight and soft curls. She has an amazing body and is very physically fit. Toned abdomen, slender waist, wide hips.

Main Skills: Bar tending and manipulating.
Personality: Victoria is very promiscuous and outgoing. It honestly seems to everyone from the outside looking in that she became a member of a gang just because it was a moral gray area.
Short Bio: Most of Victoria's past is clouded. She deals in the goods, sells the drugs and buys the drugs. She's been caught with marajuana once or twice when she was younger, nothing in the big leagues, but once she was out, she came right back.

The nightlife of the city pulsed around her as she walked. She seemed a little bored with it, actually, as if she were used to it. The 'click-clack' of her pinstriped stiletto heels striking the pavement could barely be heard over all of the people cat-calling and blaring music and car horns. She was wearing a pair of dark blue jeans that were ripped along the legs. Her upper body was dressed in a white blouse that was unbuttoned very low and a black pinstriped vest. There was a black tie loosely around her neck. She had a body that could only be described as sinful, and a grin that was better described as wolf-like. But Victoria had always been that way. That was how she got everything she owned. Victoria worked hard for everything she got, everything she owned. She turned into the club, a grin painting across lightly glossed lips as the music pulsed from the doorway and fluttered out into the night.

From the outside of the club if you were close to the entrance you could hear the telltale whine of a Ducati bike pulling. Axel pulle dup by the club of one of his gangmates Victoria Lioncah. He revved the bike once before shutting it off and putting down the stand and getting off of it and taking off his helmet. He wore a stylish and expensive looking red bikers jacket. Underneath was a plain white T-shirt. The pants he wore yet again expensive and stylish looking black jeans. His boot matched the theme of the rest of his outfit in that it was expensive and stylish these were a mix of black and red. He hung the helmet on one of the bike handles and made his way into the club. While normally would not have been able to get in because of his age he showed the bouncer his ID and by that I mean he showed him 5 Benjamins.

Soon he was inside the loud raving music of the night club and lookin around for his "lay" of the night when he spotted Victoria. He checked his breath and once he was satisfied he started his way over toward her. While he was always shot down by her he always tried hoping to get a quick score from her one of these times. Once he got to her he came close enough to where she could hear and spoke up "Hey Vickay... you lookin fine tonight sweety... how bout you and I make an excursion?"

A grin stretched across full lips as he approached her. Her pale eyes turned to him, studying everything about him. She let out an amused laugh. She pushed away from the bar and leaned in close to him, just enough to make him flustered before pulling away. "How many times am I going to have to turn you down before you get the picture, Axel... I like my men a little older... Have this British fellow in mind...." She got herself a drink and leaned against the bar again.

She turned to him again. "So, what now? Going to go and find another poor woman to torture? For shame..." She raised the alcoholic drink to her lips. She knew Axel pretty well, as she often sold to him. So she knew exactly how he operated. And the age difference was ridiculous anyway. She found teasing him was fun. She held her beer out. "Want a sip, moneybags?"

Axel was definitely flustered. He pulled away maintaining his cool "Of course I'm here for a woman... I'm here to make her day" He looked around the bar before facing Victoria again "Plus it never hurts to try and attain what even money can't bring" He took the beer she offerd and took no more then a gulp from it being he had a race tonight. "I'm racing tonight... wanna watch? It's all bikes and I have an edge tonight... I have a prototype engine in my Ducati." He took his usual cocky grin and then spotted a lovely looking blonde lady "Target acquired... see you at the starting line sweet lips" He brushed his fingers through his short brown hair and mad his way through the crowd toward the woman.

Victoria ran a tongue across her lips and offered him a wink. "You know I love you, Axe... Even if you are a spoiled rotten rich kid..." She listened to him talk before nodding. "Of course I'll be there. I'm always there.... I'm pretty sure you'd lose your mind if I wasn't..." She finished off the beer and shook her head, ordering another one. "Look out for the pretty ones. They're like coke machines. They like to take your money and leave you fiending." Not long after his exit, a woman approached her, getting very close to her. Victoria allowed it, enjoying the caresses and tiny kisses. Victoria had seemed like almost as much of a womanizer as Axel. It wasn't long before they passes a few unseen items between each other, and the woman was gone.
