She would have rather been in the chair, but she laid with him because he asked. She hummed lightly in satisfaction when he kissed her. "Love so much, eh?" She questioned playfully. When he asked her to sleep, she found herself getting comfortable. "Alright. Sleep..." She said with a smile, assuring him that she was going nowhere. And she would indeed go nowhere. She glanced around the room before finally closing her eyes and drifting away.

Yu watched her sleep for a little while then laid his head down next to hers and pulled Kai close. Kai snuggled into Yu as he smiled in his sleep. "My good boy," he said softly then kissed his forehead. "And my love," he leaned over and kissed her lovingly. He laid back down and soon he was fast asleep. He had a smile on his face. He was the happiest man in the world despite the pain he was in. He didn't even care.

She didn't sleep for very long, three hours later her eyes tore open and she looked about. There didn't seem to be anything amiss. She sat up, wincing lightly, signifying that she indeed forgot about the stitches in her ribs. She let her eyes watch the door, listening to all the movement outside. A hospital was such a busy place, there was no telling whether or not the door opening was a good or bad thing. She had to wonder if her being around would ever cease to intimidate the loan sharks. She could only hope.

Kai sniffled as he looked up at her. He had had a bad dream and he had been crying until she moved and sat up. He had silent tears streaming down his face. He hid it thinking that she'd think that he was still asleep. He was still sad because of not having a mom and his dream was about the day she died. Yu was still out cold. He really needed the sleep. Kai sniffled again then curled into a ball. 'Mommy....'

It was impossible for Victoria to not have noticed. She shifted and sat up, brushing her hand through the small child's hair. There wasn't anything one could say to a child to quell the pain of a lost parent, but one could help the aforementioned child move on. Death was indeed a tragic thing, and the loss of a mother to a child was hard, but life goes on, with or without these people, and so too must the child. She brushed her hair out of her own face before leaning down to kiss the temple of the little boy, curled into a ball. All she could do was comfort him.

Kai whimpered then clung to her. He cried louder as he clung tighter to her. "I wan my mommy back!" he cried causing Yu to wake up. "I hate daddy! He wet her die!" Yu frowned then sighed. "I didn't let her die Kai....I couldn't get the money for the medicine....I'm sorry honey. Don't cry. I'm here and not going anywhere no matter if you hate me or love me." Kai only cried harder. He didn't really mean any of it. He was just hurt that so many women were around him and no his mommy. He wished for her back though he knew she wasn't going to come back.

And instantly as she heard it, Victoria felt a clamp in her chest. What an awful feeling it must be for a child... She let him cling, her arms lightly around the boy. They were tight enough to assure him of her presence, and loose enough so as not to suffocate or harm the child. So many women, huh? It didn't matter, as Victoria knew she looked better than all of them. A true narcissist at heart. She supposed she had to be in her line of work. Maybe if she had showed up sooner she could have helped.

Yu sighed. "I'm sorry my Kai that I could not find you a mother." he said and went to touch Kai but he moved way from his hand. Yu looked down then sighed. He had tried to find a girlfriend that would stay with him long enough to get to know them but for some reason knowing that he was in dept always made them run in fear. Kai only clung to her more crying. "I wan mommy!" he cried over and over again.

Victoria merely held the child, saying nothing, although sympathy was an easy read on her expression. She didn't know what else she could do in the assist of calming the child. She shifted, ignoring the obvious pain from the stitches in her side. The stitches were something she could worry about later, right now, Kai needed her. "Calm down, sweetheart. I know, I know..." She dipped her head to the top of the child's head, resting it there.

Slowly but surely the small boy calmed down. He sniffled as he looked up at her. He really like the was she treated her. So much like his mommy. "Mommy..." he said softly. He didn't care if she said she wasn't his mom. In his mind he was trying to think of ways that he could make it that way. Yu frowned. "Kai....she's not your mom..." he tried but Kai ignored him. "Honey..."

She wiped his face and ran her fingers through his hair. "Kai, we talked about this, remember?" She questioned, kissing his forehead lightly. "Now, you know better. I know you do. Go to sleep, alright?" She said with a smile. She would hold him as long as he needed her to. What else did Victoria have to do? Her family hadn't contacted her in two days.

"No!" Kai cried clinging to her. "I wan you mommy!" he yelled making Yu sigh. "Come one Kai. You're not a kid anymore. You have to grow up." "Leave me alone! I hate you!!!!" he screamed then hid his face. Slowly though he started falling asleep unable to keep his eyes open. He felt sleepy all of a sudden. Yu only sighed as he waited for him to fall asleep.

Victoria winced, but brushed off the sharp pain she felt. She didn't know what to tell the small child. Nothing she was going to say right now was going to convince the young male otherwise. He was upset, cranky, and tired. All, she was sure, because of the shot he had received for his fever. But, it was for the best, so it was easily overlooked. She looked up at Yu, her expression indicating that she was currently at a loss of what to say or do at this point.

Yu sighed then kissed her softly. "I'm sorry about Kai," he said softly when he saw the small boy was fast asleep again. "He just really wants a mom I guess. I don't really know how he feels. I've never really lost a mother...just a wife." He sighed agian then nuzzled her neck. "Are you okay? Did he open anything?"

She glanced ahead. "It is hard for a child to lose it's parents." That she remembered vividly. And she remembered her foster family and shifted. She leaned her head onto his. "I'm fine. I think they just tugged." She responded to his question.

Yu relaxed then smiled. He was glad she was okay. "I'm so glad that your okay. Knowing that your hear with me kinda makes me really happy. I never really thought I'd feel this way about another after my wife's death...but I do with you." He kissed her softly.

She turned her gaze towards him, watching him. She wasn't sure how to react. So she did the only thing she could do. "Don't make that commitment so soon. Perhaps you've been without the touch of a compassionate woman so long for you to believe that what you see in me is what you really want, but don't decide that just yet. Not this soon. It'll break both of your hearts if I'm not what you need me to be." And she spoke only the truth. She was a little concerned that what he saw in her was a compassionate woman who not only had enough attention for him, but enough for his son. Once the loan sharks are gone and Victoria was back to her Mafiette work, that may change.

Yu only smiled then kissed her again. "It's okay. It a nice thought now at least. Having someone to look to for help and guidance for the boy. I'm not a really good father but I do try my best." He said as Kai sleepily snuggled into Victoria. "I'm happy to have you even if we don't stay together we'll at least have fun before it ends right?" he asked softly.

Victoria nodded softly. "Of course..." She mused, shifting lightly and allowing both of the boys to cuddle up to her. It was nice to be depended on. Sure, she was Lola's right hand, and sure, they depended on her from time to time, but she felt as if the two people before her right now needed and depended on her harder than anyone she had ever come across. "Now, go to sleep and get rested up so we can get home... I hate being in hospitals...." And that was the honest to God truth.

Yu smiled then laid down pulling the two close and careful not to hurt Victoria. He yawned softly as his eyes started closing. "I'm glad that I have you," he said softly before he drifted off. He was smiling in his sleep to. Kai was too but he had his thumb in his mouth and he was sucking on it.

There wouldn't be any sleeping for Victoria. She was too uneasy.

Kai woke up then whimpered. He yawned as he sat up. He blinked when he saw men dressed in black walk in. Kai screamed as he jumped off the bed and hid under it. Yu sat up quickly wincing as his sore body faught the movement. He stared at the men and glared. "What the hell do you want?!"

The old man from before smirked. "Where is our money bitch! We gave you twenty-four hours and now they're up! I want the money now!"

And with good reason, apparently. She shifted, standing. She cut a quick glance over towards them before she began advancing. Even though she was injured, she certainly didn't look like it. "It's in your best interest to leave this fucking hospital room. Or I'll put you in one. Do we understand each other...?" All she could do in the beginning is play the intimidation factor and see what it was they were really up against. The men before her didn't look so tough. They had nasty mouths, but were certainly not tough individuals. How 'hardcore' do you have to be to attack a man in a hospital bed?

The men couldn't believe there eyes. "What the hell are you in bed with him?" The old man asked as he glared. He wasn't about to mess with someone like her. He knew who she was and he didn't really have a death wish. "He's a nobody!" Kai cried softly as he stayed hidden. Yu smirked. "Well you might think that but I'm not. I have her and I'm not letting her go. She's my girlfriend and I'd like to keep it that way." The men stared wide eyed. "That's a lie!!!!" the old man yelled scaring Kai to climb out and cling to Victoria. He felt safe around her. "Leave her alone..." Kai said in a small voice.

She was leaned back against the foot of the bed, looking over at the men, allowing the child to cling to her when he wished to do so. Her eyes were narrow. Hardened and cold. "A nobody? You need to watch your mouth." She retorted, ruffling her hair a bit. She seemed like a completely different person from who Kai or Yu knew. But what they were seeing now: That was Victoria. That was how she was, that was how she worked. "Listen, I don't crawl into hospital beds with random men. Why don't you men make yourselves scarce? I don't really have the patience to deal with a small town gang right now..." She spoke with a light yawn. She let one of her hands rest on the back of Kai's head to calm him and insure him that everything would be fine.
