Pure turned with a blank expression. "I'm of no use to you. That wave didn't even phase you, but nearly wiped me out. I would only get in your way." He knew he was very weak and he was constantly taken advantage of by other Vampires. Her sweet tone was obviously used to persuade him, but he shrugged it off; he'd received the "sweet talk" tone many times and had become resilient.

Pure had been watching Katie for the last few months now. He deeply admired her and would die to meet her, but kept to himself in fear of scaring her. While he was watching her from the sky with dreamy eyes, he felt a strange pulse, followed by a huge shock wave. He gripped his ears tightly and cringed. 'Ah! What is that!?' he thought to himself before passing out, falling from the sky, and landing in one of the bushes close to the swing Katie was on with a thud. The shock wave was certainly made to hinder someone else, but founds it's way to hurt him instead.

Katie had looked at the girl,a little frightened about telling her her name but shrugged."Katie Scarlett."She said and then heard a boys voice and someone fall into the bushes,she jumped up from her seat and looked over the side of the railing by the swing."Are you okay?"She asked,walking down the steps to look at him.
He then talked to Maiara for awhile and seemed to start going away.She sighed and sat down on the steps of her home,alone again.

"Please..."She paused, a little embarassed to know that Pure though that way, "You do have use to me. Your someone i can talk to" Maria pleaded.

This was why he fell in love with humans instead of vampires. He couldn't trust them no matter what. He had gone through too much over the years to ever have any hopes of regaining the trust. Pure noticed Katie out of the corner of his eye and his heart sank at the sad expression on her face. He loved humans because he had revealed himself as a vampire to many and they all still cherished him as a friend or an equal. Others of his kind gave him no such luxury. Pure walked past Maria to meet Katie, finally having the boldness to do so. She had already seen him fall from the sky, so it would be foolish to continue hiding. He knelt down to her level and gazed into her eyes.

Katie blushed seeing the man in front of her,he was very handsome.She was atleast happy that it would be hard to tell she was blushing since it was dark except for the moonlight.She looked back at Maiara,wondering what she would do.She then looked back at the boy."Hi,I'm Katie Scarlett..and you are?"She asked quietly,looking at him."I noticed you fell..are you okay?"

Maria was used to this. Where a vampire would completely ignore her. This has always been, even when she was a child. Others didn't want to play with her, much less be around her. That was the main reason for her plead. So she went back to the swing she was siting at before.
Man i freaking hate vampires. I know i'm one but still! Either they ignore me or fear me. Is there something wrong with me? She thought to herself.

Pure gave a very slow nod, still taking in the details of her being. She looked much better up close than from his stalking view. He preferred close up a lot better. He even forgot to answer her question as he continued eying her. His conscious prodded his body to return to reality rather than let his eyes have it's exquisite candy and look like a star gazing idiot. He had heard the thoughts of Maria before and tried to block them out. He didn't feel any extensive remorse since he knew she would have done the same were she in his shoes and part of his past grievances.

Katie stared back at him,half waiting for an answer and half just looking at his eyes to see their color.She couldn't make it out that easily.She wondered what he was thinking,a small smile showed on her face.She blinked her dark green eyes as she watched him.

Dorian fell into a trancelike state, he could feel his blood rushing to the open wound, but it didn't hurt, it was numb. All he could feel was the sensation of his own pulse and his heart pounding in his chest. It was a sort of high and pleasurable feeling to him, but he was nervous beyond compare. It took until now for him to realize what was actually happening, but he couldn't do anything about it. He stood almost paralyzed as Gwen hung off his neck and waited for her to finish. 'What happened that night...? Will I even remember this?' the thoughts circled in his mind. He tried to keep his thoughts clear for the most part, but there were a few instances where that came up.

Pure finally snapped back to life and with a nervous and embarrassed laugh, he responded. "I'm sorry. My name is Pure, what's yours?" he already knew, but he didn't want her to know that. He held out a hand to shake and wondered if she would suspect anything when she felt how cold his skin was. He disregarded the thought and waited for her to take a hold of his hand.

She took his hand and shook it,his hand was very cold..but it felt good.She felt a shiver go up her spine but she didn't let go."Katie Scarlett, But I just go by Katie."She said with a small grin,she felt like an idiot talking to this handsme boy.

Pure sat down on the step, next to her. He still had a hold of her hand, taking in the warmth of it. "Nice to meet you Katie. Aren't you afraid to be out this late at night all by yourself?" he questioned her with a concerned, but soft tone. It seemed a tad obvious that he had feelings for her. If the eye gazing didn't give it away, the tone he used did.

Katie nodded."Well since I was on my porch it wasn't that scary.."She said lightly.

Pure was about to say something, but the door behind them opened and he ran off. I doubt her family member, or whoever opened the door, wouldn't be to thrilled to see her holding the hand of a stranger. Pure vanished into an alleyway and began to walk the streets. He was almost thrilled about meeting her and finding how much her personality resembled her looks.

Katie sighed when he ran off,turning and seeing her younger brother had opened the door."Alexander,What are you doing out of bed?"She said with a frown and got up from the steps,putting a hand on the five year olds four head and ushering him inside.He had dark black hair that went down in bangs covering his blue eyes.He was adorable to almost everyone..but their mother.She hated them..or atleast when she was drunk she did.Which was all the time.She picked him up and led him into his room and sat him on the bed that had batman on the cover.
"Story?"He asked,blinking a few tims and leaning back on his pillow..he never talked much but if he did it was one word.
Katie nodded."Which one?"She asked and watched as he leaned over the bed and pulled out a Robin hood book from under the bed.
She nodded and began reading.

Pure stretched and sat down against a wall in the alleyway to sleep. He could sleep in one of the many vampire safe houses, but he didn't feel like dealing with any of them at the moment. Pure could hear the people in the apartments who were still awake watching television. He tried to block out the noise by replacing it a different sound and he found the dripping of condensation from an AC unit four stories up would suffice.

Katie finished the last sentence of the sotry and looked up from the book seeing Alexander asleep,she pulled the cover over him and put the book back under his bed.She stood p and left the room quietly,shutting the door only to hear her mothers drunken voice.
I need more scotch."She said gruffly.
"I'll get you more scotch in the morning mother.."Katie said uietly,getting ready to go upstairs.
"Now!"Her mother yelled.
Katie sighed and with a small nod,left the house.She had 20 bucks in her pocket..that would get a bottle of scotch,even though she wasn't old enough to buy it her family had been friends with the owners..so she was allowed.She walked down the steps and down the street,walking slowly to look at the moon.

Maria got up from where she was siting and started to walk down the street when she seen, Katie. So she ran up to her and gave her a hug."I'm sorry for not introducing myself before. My name is Maria. I seen you walking alone and i thought that Pure wouldn't like to see you walking by yourself. So i came to escort you to where ever you need to go." Samia said this with a welcoming smile. But then she noticed something was wrong. " What's wrong?"

"Nothing wrong..I just had to go inside and read to my brother.Now I have to go and get my mother some more scotch."She said,turning to give Maiara a look."Why would Pure care if I was walking alone?He just met me..I just met him."She said and shook her head."It's nice to meet you Maiara."

" Well, it's nice to meet you too. Pure is a nice guy, he even cares for the people just meets."Maria said quickly.
Boy that was close.She thought.
"Are you even old enough to get scotch?" Samia questioned.

"I'm nineteen and my family is friends with the people that own the liquor store."She said lightly."So..how do you know Pure..?"

"Well, i don't really know him, that well. but he seems nice," Maria admitted.

"Oh.."She said in a solemn voice."Well I can make it to the store by myself.."She said quietly and started walking ahead of the girl.She brushed back her black bangs and sighed heavily,she wasn't in the best of moods.

Pure couldn't sleep that night, as much as he tried, he couldn't get Katie off of her mind. Seeing Maria in such close proximity worried him and he decided to get up and look for her. This took his attention off of the sound of water droplets and the loud television show became audible again. He shook his head as he heard the theme song for Friends. "That's all most humans do anymore. Waste their lives by watching TV. Families divided by entertaining technology." It struck a melancholy note on his heart and made him wonder why he was feeling sorry for society. There was nothing he could do about it or change it.

He was just getting ready to leave the alley until he saw Katie walking down the street on the opposite side. His view of her was occasionally blocked by cars, but he could make her out and a being in an alley waiting to ambush her. It was a vampire and he wasn't about to let her come to harm. 'Katie, stop!' he let his thoughts pierce into hers.

It was over, his warning would give away who he was. She would know he was a vampire now, but it was worth being exposed than just standing by and watching his crush die...

Katie froze as she heard Pure's voice in her head.Great,now she was insane.She shook her head but turned and looked at Maiara."Did you..say something?"She asked.She knew Maiara definetly had a girl voice..so why was she thinking of Pure saying stop?She just met him and now she was fantasizing over him.She rolled her eyes,a little frightened and walked back towards the girl,looking around in all directions,thats when she noticed someone in both alleyways.
