Amelia barely caught that Nicki was walking past her and when she did she set down the 'needle' and fumbled with the buttons. She wasn't sure what he was doing but he was bound to turn around and see her. She blushed looking down as he did just that before she could get the shirt back together. She had her chest completely bound with cloth, there was just small bumps that she couldn't hide because she was bigger than could be completely hidden.

"Almost done wid da sail Nicki."

Nicki flinched and looked away sharply, his face reddening. "G-good work," he answered, a little tensely. Crap. He felt like a total idiot now. A perverted idiot. He couldn't walk back now though, that would be too obvious. He dug his the heel of his boot nervously into the sand, staring at the way it shifted with the movement.

(I'm sorry, but this is amusing. XD )

Amelia finished buttoning the front and stood up lifting the sail with her, trying to ignore the burning sensation in her chest and the butterflies in the stomach. "I'm not sure how ye gonna attach it to the boat. But I think this is pretty good for a makeshift sail."

She realized she was switching in and out of pirate canter and couldn't help it. Normally she would just talk with a "yes'ir" and run off and do what she was asked. Managing decent pirate talk with Nicki when they had been such close friends before he was made captain.

Nicki chanced a glance back. "Y-ya. Tha' looks...sturdy." Well, didn't that sound suave and smart. Not. He turned his eyes back to the water with a frown.

"Do ya think the tree will be done soon Nicki?" She watched him staring out at the water and looked at the cool picture that it made. With a slight tilt to her head she looked at the picture and smiled. At least she had been stranded out here with Nicki and not Jozo or any of the others who didn't know that she was a girl.

Nicki turned back to look out toward the tree, and his mouth fell open in disbelief. Then he suddenly took off sprinting toward the tree, waving his hands and shouting.

Around the tree a group of monkeys had gathered while Nicki's attention had been elsewhere. Now they were smothering it with huge leaves and pissing on it in turns.

Andrew turned to look at what Nicki was freaking out about and stared in shock. What the hell?! For one there was no way this could be a sane island, or normal island. Animals run away from fires not towards them to put them out. It made her wonder what other crazy things might be hiding on the island, but she had to do what her Captain said. And that was finishing the boat and catching Jozo.

Not sure if she should set the sail down and go help him, cause the monkeys may just turn around and grab the sail and destroy it she called out. " Umm, Cap'n anyway I can help."

Nicki quickly found his half sodden coat again and beat away at the monkeys, yelling curses at them and chasing away the more obstinate ones with a few kicks. But his in his frenzy, he had forgotten to be careful of the fire, and it caught onto the dry edges of his coat. He stomped the coat into the sand, beating away the tiny flames with his boot. The monkeys seemed to laugh as they disappeared back into the undergrowth.

"Is everything okay captain?" She set the sail down and ran up to him. The flames were still going at least so that was good. It meant the tree would slowly be burning through so they could make a boat out of it. She tilted her head and looked at him with a smile , "At least you shooed the monkeys off."

Nicki only grumbled in reply and gathered his coat up, shaking the sand out roughly. He then slung the coat back down with his hat and stomped away into the trees, muttering something about more fire fuel.

Andrew nodded... "Right." Kneeling by the tree she blew gently on the fire placing some more leaves on it. She'd seen him do that when he was starting it, it should help keep it going. She smiled and looked down at the sail. It was still there and fine.

Nicki came back half an hour later, his expression a little more pleasant. He held in his hand a roughly made axe that consisted of a long, sharp rock shoved into a hollow at one end of a long stick. He carried it over to the tree and checked the fire, then swung his handmade axe down to chip away at the base. The blacked bark crumbled away and the fire burned bright again as untouched wood was revealed.

Andrew smiled, "This should take far less time now, good thinking Captain." She bit her lip wondering if she should still be calling him that. He was still the captain to her, even though he was also her friend, Nicki. She checked the sail again, which of course was doing fine, the monkeys apparently were done messing with them for the time being.

(I really hope that you come around here and post again because i'm doing before school subscription cleaning and will have to unsubscribe from this as a 'dead' roleplay. And it was a very good one, incredibly fun, and I'd feel bad doing that. Hope to see you around. even if this one is dead. =] )
