He was almost glad to hear that she had been wrong about him. Honestly, he wouldn't have guessed that having her near him would have made him such a different person then he had been on his own. He smiled at her and put a hand on hers. "Well, I do care. God knows why I care but I do." He almost laughed to himself saying that. "Well, you don't have to be scared any more, of anything." He tried to smile warmly, which was a little difficult. "It's nice that your talking to me. I appreciate it. You know...while were talking...do you have anything else you want to talk about?" He felt like even if she didn't he should ask, better then letting the opportunity pass by. Deep down, he really did care about the things she had said to him.
Metza thought for a moment though her thoughts became slightly distorted as exhaustion hit her making her yawn then cringe because of the strain it put on her lungs and that in turn hurt her back. "Not anything that I can think of now.." She murmured trying to stay awake trying to keep her eyes open but it was useless. She was glad though that she had stayed awake long enough to hear his response and even more so that she got to talk to him a bit. Why do I feel this way? I've never felt like this... Except through another's emotions... What is this feeling that I get when I talk to him now?... Why didn't I feel it before? She thought though soon her mind had drifted off when she fell asleep fully.
Hako smiled watching her fall asleep. "Night Metza." He pulled the cover up around her a little, remembering that next time she woke up he would have to deal with her bandages. For a little while he kept sitting, watching her sleep. Occasionally she moved a little, probably in a little bit of pain still. What are you doing to me girl? He sighed and moved her hair out her eyes. He lay down on the little desk again, thinking about everything that had happened over the last few days. He had been quite a bit happier since she had started being around him. He had been a lot of things that he never had before since she had been around. He just wished that he could actually make sense of how he felt.
"The world would have been a much better place if that man had actually killed you when he said he would. I wish you had died when you got sick in that slave trade instead of that woman who saved you. You've been nothing but an ungrateful rotten little wench since you were able to talk and don't have the sense to hold onto all that people have given you. Sometimes I think you wanted to die... All those times I wish you had. I was bound by your parents request and forced to fallow it to the fullest extent though now that they're dead I don't have to feel a single emotion towards you." Metza woke up about an hour and a half later in a cold sweat as Fang's cruel words hit her hard in her sleep. She rubbed her eyes though only made small movements then yawned and yet again it sent a spasm up and down her scare and into her back.
Hako was dozing in and out of sleep. It was hard for him to sleep when he wasn't that tired. Once again she woke up, and was about the stretch and go back to sleeping when he saw that Metza's eyes were open. "Hey..." She didn't look so good, something in her eyes worried him and she looked clammy. "What's wrong? You don't look so good?" He touched her cheek with the back of his hand. "Your sweating? Did you have a nightmare or something?" Nightmares, unfortunately were one part of life that he had a great deal of experience with.
Metza looked at him for a moment before responding. The pain meds were still in her system making it rather hard to comprehend his words at first. "Yeah, I did..." She replied though wasn't going to go into details unless he asked. Her neck was aching again though she knew it wasn't going to stop for a bit and accepted that fact... Though that didn't mean she didn't want it to stop. She could feel the bandages and how they were a little damp though she wasn't bleeding threw... and if she was she didn't know it... Well she was still bleeding though she knew it hadn't soaked onto the bed yet. Instinctively she put her hand up to his though normally that would just mean she was going to push the hand away... Surprisingly she didn't. She liked the feel of his soft touch it reminded her that he wasn't going to hurt her and that she did have someone in this world that cared for her. Why do I feel this way... Why won't I push his hand away?... Why won't I move mine? She didn't know any of these answers though she did know that his touch brought her a slight bit of comfort.
For a moment he felt something odd, then it faded. He smiled at her and moved his hand. Now instead of her hand being on his, his hand was holding hers. "Well, I hope that's the only one you have for a while. In a little while, before you sleep again I'm going to need you to sit up so I can sort out your bandages." He felt strange holding her hand, even though he was only doing it for comfort. He decided to force himself to do as many of the things that made him feel strange, maybe then he would start to figure out what it was that was going on with himself.
Metza blinked for a second and slowly a smile came onto her face that she couldn't control. It was a childish smile one that just didn't seem right to her for it to be on her face. "Ok... Though you might want to go ahead and do that while I still have some of that pain medicine in me." She said softly not wanting to wait and take the risk of letting the drugs weir off and then doing it so she would be in more pain then necessary. She didn't know how she felt about him changing her bandages though, she knew he would more then likely try his hardest not to look though there was still that uneasy feeling that he would see her.
Hako smiled with her, wondering if Metza was feeling the way that he was. He took some bandages off the side and nodded. "Well, If you sit up and sit facing away from me then I can start..." He suddenly felt rather awkward. Even though he was making extra sure that he wouldn't see anything but her back, he hadn't seen anyone else without their clothes on probably ever. He let go of her hand so he could run his through his hair again trying to relax. "Do you want a hand getting up?"
Metza sighed still not liking the idea though looked back up at Hako softly " Yes please." she said softly this time with no strugle. She really didn't want to do this but she didn't want her back to get any worse. She wondered randomly how old he was knowing he had to be older then her if he had called her a child once before.
Hako helped her up and looked away until she was facing away from him. He unclipped the bandages that had been done up with small clips which he put on the side. He started to unwrapped them, having to lean close to her and put his arms round her to keep hold of the bandage. "Sorry, I'm sure this is really awkward for you...If you have anything to talk about, maybe that might help a little?" He kept unwinding it gently, trying his best to be gentle. In some places the bandage was difficult to get away from where she was bleeding, but he tried not to hurt her.
Metza held still even when she felt the pull of the bandages. She didn't know what to say she was just focased on keeping calm and keeping from moving so much. "I wouldn't know what to say... I don't usually get a chance to talk..." she said calmly keeping her mind from the pain. Every time he leaned close she cought a wif of his sent and it relaxed her some... Why did it relax her? She didn't know but she didn't truly care it kept her calm. She didn't truly mind his body close to hers though again that confused her.
Hako kept unwinding the bandages from her still bleeding wounds. He paused for a moment while he had his arms round her, almost like a hug but her back not touching him. "I don't either, but I rather like talking to you. I suppose I didn't have anyone to talk to before." He thought to himself about how long he hadn't spoken before she arrived, then remembered that he shouldn't stay like that around her. "Oh, sorry..." He hurriedly kept going, but making sure she was in as little pain as possible. Your stupid, you really are...letting her affect you like she is! Do all people do this to a person? Pull them in so tight but still make sure that there has to be space between them? Maybe I'm just not well. He had totally stopped paying attention to what he was doing, it becoming almost automatic until he snapped out of his own thoughts.
Metza turned her head ever so slightly to look at Hako out of the corner of her eye. "Are you ok?" she asked softly feeling that something was distorting his emotions more then normal. Why was he acting so funny? What was going on? They were both acting off from what she could tell though she didn't know why in the least.
Hako nodded slowly. "I'm fine, just thinking. I don't think I'm very well." He sighed to himself and unravelled the last part of her bandage. "There we go, time for a new one." He picked up the new bandages from the table and started to free a length to wrap around her again. He paused to run his fingers through his hair for a second. He was starting to give up trying to understand. He felt rather hopeless, hoping everything would get better soon.
Metza was for the most part relaxed not wanting to get herself in more pain then needed though there was always that fact he was going to be bandeging her... Why did that not bother her so much? Her thoughts were interupted by a deep couple of hard caughs making her back arch slightly witch made the pain ten times worse. She couldn't seem to breathe right after that and wondered how deep they had to go to get the poison out...
Hako moved back a little as she coughed, not wanting her to hurt herself even more by arching her back into him. "Are you going to be okay? I can get you a drink if you like, If you think that would help?" He worried about the way she was breathing after her coughing and hoped that it didn't mean that she was still poisioned. He put a hand on her shoulder hoping that it would promt an answer from her. "Metza?" It felt weird putting his hand on her. Her skin was warm on his, which he hadn't expected.
"Yes... Please..." Metza choaked then felt his hand on her shoulders and the wormth felt odd to her. It wasn't just a phisicle warmth though... It felt deeper... It was that feeling again... Though stronger this time. Why the heck do I feel this way?! What has changed? Why am I... Why are we acting so different?... I don't understand. She thought quietly trying to calm her nerves though that was kind of hard at the moment.
Hako got up and brought her back a glass of water. "Here, I hope it helps. You really don't sound so good." He sat back behind her and waited for her to finish and hopefully say that it had made her at least a little bit better. He had noticed though that before she took it she had seemed at least a little distracted. "What are you thinking about? You always seem to be thinking about something. I wouldn't ask but...you seem a little nervous."
Metza took the glass and drank it slowly as to not choak even more then looked at Hako out of the corner of her eye as he spoke. "I do think alot... I just have something that's kinda been stuck in my mind for a bit... It's like a puzzle except there are only a verry few peices." She murmured softly as she continued to glance at him out of the corner of her eye.
"Oh..." Hako sat there for a while trying to think what she could have been thinking about. "Well, do you want to talk about it?" He had become rather good at thinking and working things out. With a collection of some of the best books ever written, and a whole lot of spare time alone he had a whole lot of practice with imagination, thinking and puzzle pieces.
"Um... I... I don't know... I... I think it would be kind of... Acward." Metza said softly turning her head slightly so he couldn't see her cheecks which were turning slightly red from the thought. You are such a freaking moron! You don't let people see through what you say and you certainly don't let them know you're stuck with a thought! She thought slightly agrivated at herself for letting herself slip again.
Hako smiled. The fact she was even telling him that he knew meant a lot. "Well, If you want to, or if you think it will help then feel free to talk about it. Even if you don't want to right now." He picked up the bandages and as painlessly as he could started to put them round her. He knew she might not be saying anything, but he knew how wild she had been when she had first come to the house, and he knew that it was still there. Even if right now she kept it in her head.
(BRAIN FART!!! WHRITERS BLOCK!! FREAKING STUPID BLOCK! Can you help me a bit? )
"Hey, Metza? Are you okay?" Hako sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "I'm not saying it's bad, but you've been acting different lately. I just hope that you're okay. I don't want you to feel like you have to act like this." He shook his head and chuckled to himself. "I'm sorry, I'll be quiet now. I guess I just don't understand why you've been acting so different."
