Bella wiped her tears and laid down on the cold ground. she pulled his card out the doctor's card. Bella could not explain it but she felt really safe with him like everything would be alright. Bella remembered the doctor's beautiful eyes and with that she fell asleep peacefully. Tomorrow she was going to find a job hopefully she would be able to find a good one. But deep down she knew no one would hire her because she was pregnant and Bella had decided not to get rid of it she knew that it was wrong to kill a baby and once the doctor told her she was pregnant she began to love the baby at that moment. Deep down she knew all would be alright.

The night-shift worker of the waste processing plant was a vampire who made a business out of disposing bodies of victims. No questions asked, the crematory was always lit in case someone wanted to get rid of a victim's body. During his residence in his city, Victor had used the cremation services every time he had fed. He usually fed once a week, and one death of a street thug or a rapist per week was only great for the town's criminal record.

He gave the disposer-vampire a good amount of dollars - everything cost more for a vampire - and left with a thanks. He would not want to stay to catch the smell of burning flesh that was very distinct from between the smell of decaying waste. He drove away quickly and parked in front of his house a few miles away from the city. The security system of the house was very well hidden and almost inpenetrable. The basement of his house was where he slept during the day, though sometimes he would work during daytime as well. Technology had given him the chance to become a "normal" person at home.

He locked all the doors once inside and headed straight down to his basement floor; the upper floors were only camouflage of expensive furniture that had not been used in ages. The basement was exquisitely lit with lights that mimicked the warm sun, but did not have the UV-radiation that was fatal to him. He sat down by his phone and tried not to remember what he had done. What if she called the police? He could not hide himself from the prying eyes of law enforcement during the day and neither could he defend himself when he was sleeping a sleep tighter than anything. His natural instincts would also aim to kill anyone or anything that attempted to come close to him in his slumber.

The warm blood in his veins warmed him gradually; he couldn't hear the blood rushing through him, but someone else's blood. His heart would only pump faintly to supply his tissues with the little energy they needed to stay perfectly beautiful. His skin had already become hard as polished marble from all his fasting, though his vibrant and ever-vigilant mind was now on the girl who had wished to shed the blood of her rapist, yet refused to ask someone else to do it. Oh, and that talk about God ... it amused him endlessly! He chuckled lightly and turned off the lights with a single clap of his hand. The darkness soothed his eyes and cooled down his mind.

Bella laid on the floor resting her head on her book bag she was tried but to cold and scared to sleep.
She slept for a while she pulled out a huge blanket she had and cover her self with it she knew she had to take care of herself more then ever.

The next morning Bella got and toke a shower luckily the water still ran in the abandon place. She then changed her clothes and went out to buy some food. She had stolen a Wat of cash from her step father before she left. She went to a near by I hops and order some food.

While Bella was eating she looked up and there was a news paper front page....her step father's face it says he has gone missing..... Bella finished her food and grabbed a paper. She then thought of the doctor and ran back to the abounded house.

The morning had come, yet Victor was unable to set himself into slumber. He was reasoning with himself the best he could; did he kill the man because he saw a perfect opportunity for his conscience to feed or did he kill as an instrument of retribution? Moreover, would she believe that this was God's doing or would she see him as a murderer? He could think of arguments for both, yet his main concern was why he had given into the impulse of a moment. Usually he was strict about not meddling with the affairs of his patient, yet he had already killed for a patient!!!

His natural instincts were telling him to go to sleep, it was unnatural of him to be up when the Sun was up. Some of the weaker vampires would immediately seek shelter without being able to resist what their bodies were doing. It was as if a vampire was always torn between his personality and what his natural instinct told him to. He was not an exception; situations like these could result in his doom.

Bella sat on the dusty cold floor under the window for the light. She opened the news paper and read " Anthony Smith....disappeared last night leaving no trace behind....his wife was sleeping in bed and did not hear a sound just a cracking noise and thought nothing of it" Bella continued to read she then stopped. She cover her mouth " Dear lord...could it be that the doctor.....no.....I have to talk to him to night and find out" Bella Spent the rest of the day pondering thinking whether or not
if anything happened to her step father ...did the doctor do something? Bella breathed in and out slowly she placed her hand and touched it. " I am sorry that you will only have me in this world.....".

( I'm going to have it be evening, Victor's a dork during daylight. xD )

He had lost consciousness at some point when he felt that he had used up all of Anthony Smith's blood for pondering what would become of him and of Bella. He awoke from his forced slumber with a start, but was relieved to see that the alarm system was intact and that there was no light anywhere. The night had fallen, and he would not have to worry about work. No one had called him, thus the nurse had remembered he had left earlier last night, owing to a flu. What interested him, however, was what the papers said. He rose from the chair, not troubled by aching of limbs as mortals would have, and went to get his mail. He did not get much mail, only the requisite bills for having legal citizenship and a camouflage identity. He usually had a mortal to manage his mortality-camouflage for him, but abandoned that project quite soon.

The papers were quite vague on the issue - no one had seen him, though his wife had apparently heard his neck cracking in her sleep. That fact alone was such a hoot for his sadistic side! The ignorant woman ultimately met the end of her lover of the same reason she had lost her daughter; she had not believed what her senses told! Lovely, just lovely. He put the paper in the bin where he kept all the old newspapers and went to check his phone. Nothing, but he hoped it to be otherwise. There were some things he could keep to himself for all eternity - they weighed heavily on him. He felt that he needed to explain himself to her, one way or another.

Bella went to the hospital but the maid told her that he was not working tonight. So Bella looked at the card luckily it had his home address on it. She ran all the way there she was not use to being pregnant but she tried to take it as easy as possible.
With her she had the newspaper in her hand and her one of her only possessions her book bag filled with clothes and money.

Once she got to the place she walked up the stairs and knocked on the door. Hopping he would answer the door she stood there. She took in the sight of the house it was beautiful ..lovely it looked safe and warm.

Victor was taken aback by the knock on the door. It was barely audible to the basement, but he heard it loud and clear. He bolted for the door, locking the only door to the basement before proceeding. He lit up the lights in the house by clapping his hands again - he had not turned on any of the lights as he did not need to. He could see in the dark as clearly as a human saw during daylight.

He had not attended to his attire, that was a given, but he had spilt no blood the night before. His collar was crooked, but at least it gave the impression that he had been sleeping. The only change in his appearance itself was the fact that his skin had become warmer and had taken on a slight alabaster shade instead of the very pale one earlier. His eyes were like glass - no signs of staying up until his body collapsed whatsoever. He could smell her from inside and did not need to reassure himself. His senses, for one, would not betray him.

He opened the door slowly, as if to act like he didn't expect guests. He saw the newspaper in her hand immediately, but did not react to it. Had he not prepared himself for the worst as well? His tone was the usual - no passion of emotion in it at first. "Good evening. It is late for you to be on a stroll." He could see that she was breathing a little bit heavier, he assumed she had run the whole way or at least most of it. Knowing that made him feel slightly uneasy; why else would she run to his house in the late hours of the evening?

Bella looked at him " Good evening.....I am sorry about waking you if i did " Bella felt bad she knew better then to bother people in the evening. " Forgive me for disturbing you....But i must know the truth" She raised the picture of her step father.
" Did you?" She asked. She was still standing in the door way looking into his eyes.

Victor gestured her to come in - or rather, he made sure she was inside the house - before he spoke. "I told you that I knew people far more influential than you stepfather, didn't I?" He could have lied, he knew he could've. After all, could a doctor pull off a perfect crime like that? No, but an immortal one could. His expression was now serious as his lips were tightly pressed into a line and his eyebrows loomed over his pale green eyes like storm clouds. Whether she would realize it was him first or second hand, he prepared himself for any action to be taken.

He started wishing he had never spoken out the words he had ... He hoped that he had never expressed his interest in taking the bastard's life. He hoped he had framed the incident to be an accident. It would have been easy as Bella's mother was fast asleep upstairs when her new husband had been slaughtered like cattle.

" I have no idea what to say.......on one hand I am glad he is in hell but on the other I believe it is wrong to end a person's life"
Bella looked at him she was not angry or happy just confused. She looked at the inside of the house as she spoke it was just as lovely as the outside. " Does it make me a bad person to be happy that he is dead?"

Bella began to feel like crap she felt bad that she was happy of another's pain and suffering.
She looked down ashamed of what she felt.

"I am not one to judge who is evil and who is good. I'm not even sure what exactly is good or evil. All I know is that one deed is just one deed. While you might have one fault, there are bound to be other things that make up for it." He was surprisingly oblivious to the damage he had inflicted.

Seeing her look down with shame, he brought his palm to her chin and lifted her gaze up to meet his eyes. "Besides, it was I who contributed to his death, not you." At the same time, he noticed that she was carrying what looked like her whole material property. He let go of her chin and looked at the bag. "Where have you been staying all this time?"

Bella knew his theory made sense. she was shocked when he asked her where she was staying.
Bella did not like to lie she always tried to tell the truth no matter what. " Oh I have been staying in that building next to the hospital..............The abandon one" Bella voice was lowered at that point.....she knew as a doctor he would tell her it was un safe for many reasons. She could not help but notice that he held her face in his palm it did not bother her it was just a surprise she did not feel the need to run and hide like she usually felt ever since her step father had rapped her.

"In an abandoned house?! What, are you - " He cut himself off before he would say anything hasty. Of course she couldn't have known that she was with child, and she had done right in finding a hospital when her symptoms had started bothering her. Yet she had gone running late at night all alone. Most irresponsible, though he was not sure how safer she would be in an abandoned house.

"In any case, you better not go back. It's hazardous for your health and the baby's development. You may spend the night here or I can pay for a hotel room for a week." He didn't look into her eyes and avoided eye contact. It was as if he had planned this all along; he had eliminated the person who had traumatized her, he had driven her to him. "It is primarily my fault your child is fatherless." 'Even though he does not deserve to be a father ...' He added to himself.

" I was not planning on ever telling him or the child......I rather raise the child on my own then allow it to have a monster like that as a father.......As far as i am concern I am its father and mother" Bella looked into his eyes " It is not that bad the abounded house has running water I am fine...I do not wish to be a bother......" Bella looked like was 10 pounds lighter then what she should be she had dark circles under her eyes and bruises on her arm as well as her neck and on the side of her face a bit.

Bella wanted her baby to live to be happy she hopped she could be a wonderful parent for the child even though she was a child herself.

Victor listened to her talk. For her to be worried about a bother in the house of someone who had killed her mother's husband, she was the last thing closest to a bother. He saw the physical evicende of how tired she really was - and it was almost heartbreaking to hear how running water made it all okay for her. "You are underweight, you have dark circles around your eyes and you have several bruises around your body. Nothing that can kill you this instant, but something that will get worse if you do not take proper care of yourself. A pregnant young girl like you cannot spend her days in an abandoned house." He sounded resolute - and he was. After all that had been said and done, his conscience refused to let this go.

"I don't spend a lot of time in the house anyway ... I don't think I even remember when was the last time I went upstairs. If you don't want my money, at least allow me to offer hospitality for what it's worth. I can help you get a job, I can buy you food, I can help you find an apartment ... " The words blurted from his mouth as if he could not distinguish between what he wanted and what he could've said. He was almost frantic in his speaking, afraid that she might refuse ... just as much as he feared that she would accept.

" No one is going to hire a pregnant girl.....I can not do certain things like picking up heavy things and stuff....I wanted to go to college but I do not see that happening for a bit now..I guess If you do not mind I can stay here...Are you sure I wouldn't be a bother?" Bella looked into his eyes they were filled with wonder and question.

She wondered why he would go to the length of ending someone's life for her. She let the thought go she would know soon enough if she was meant to know that is. She then winced a bit she had a bruise on the side of her rib which was bothering her a bit but she got over it.

"Oh, I'm sure I can arrange something if you really want to work. But I won't be resisting you if you want to stay here and just rest. That, too, would be understandable." He sighed. "You are a bother if you do not take care of yourself and get into trouble. While you might know me for being rather turbulent when I am enraged, I am pacific if certain rules are abided by." He kindly took her bag - heavy from the books she carried - and put it on the drawer in the foyer they were standing in. He would not take back his offer anymore. It was safer for both her and him to stay under his roof. As long as she would obey the simple rules he laid out for her.

"First, and foremost, I am not to be disturbed by day. Because I work night-shifts, I need a lot of sleep during the day. The second and last rule is that the basement is off-limits. The stairs are really steep and the light is broken. I will not have you kill yourself there." His intense eyes were now locked on hers. It was crucial that she would understand these rules; even better if she didn't ask questions of why she was not permitted to do these two things. He hated how it resembled the story of Bluebeard and his curious wives, but there was no helping it.

" Okay.....I will not disturb you by day unless it is an emergency life or death......and I will not set foot in the basement I got it......Anything else?" Bella felt his eyes lock on her own she hopped that they would live here peacefully. She then got this strange craving " Do you have ........ummm ice cream , pickles and mustard?" Bella then fully processed what she wanted to eat
" oh dear God....ewwww will i always want to eat that during the 9 months?" She felt a bit disgusted but shook it off

"No, nothing else." He confirmed, while he was processing through his memory. Did he have any "mortal" food in this house? Sometimes he bought some for his cover - neighbours were beginning to ask whether he actually ate. But he didn't remember having done so recently. Hopefully he had something.

While his mind lingered on the food issue, he listened to her request with amusement. The mixture was indeed a horrible one, but he didn't enjoy human food to begin with. Condiments and ice cream? He would've shivered at the thought, but it was needless to do so. "I don't recommend so much vinegar in your food. It's a little bit nasty on your stomach in the long run." He couldn't say whether he had any of the items she had asked. He knew he had something to fill the kitchen's cupboards with, though he wasn't sure whether they were edible. "Maybe you should check the kitchen then? I ... tend to eat out so I don't really remember whether I have any grub here."

" That is okay maybe I can run to the store at the corner and get something .......I will not be long I promise" Bella grabbed her purse and went out the door before he could say " no" to her leavening this hour of the night. Bella walked down the street some of the neighbors stared at her but she paid them no mind at all. She walked into the market place which was big and decided to do some real food shopping" She grabbed a cart and up and down the grabbing some fruit and vegetables she then ran into the baby section by mistake. She then looked down and did not pay attention she then left to pay for the items she had grabbed.

While Bella was gone, Victor took on the mission to hide all the evidence of his thirst for blood. He would keep an emergency supply for later and because his house was seldom used for living, he stored them in rather obvious places. He kept them in the fridge, for Heaven's sake! Of course he would have been fast enough to be able to hide them before she would have gotten near the fridge, but to be on the safe side ... He grabbed the liquid bags and bolted to the basement, almost tearing the door off its hinges for he had forgotten that he had locked the door. The lock did not broke, but simply gave in. A little twist here and there, but nothing another force acted on it couldn't fix.

He put the bags into the corner of the room - the basement was cold for he did not need cold. He could feel the cold, but it wouldn't hurt him. He was dead already, after all. He wouldn't need anything else but blood to be medically alive.

When he was sure he had not left any extraordinary pieces of his life anywhere, he closed the door to the basement, now making sure it locked behind him. He replugged the house's telephone cord and made sure that the electronics in the house were working. He had not even realized it earlier, but with the settling night, he realized the cold was getting inside. He had not used the heating for he did not need it. He turned the heating on and then went to the upstairs study. The computer he had there hadn't been used in a while, but he would want to check a few things. He looked out from the curtainless window to the courtyard. He couldn't see her coming yet, so he could do a little check on what was the word around town of the disappearance and whether anyone knew she was related to him.

Bella left the store she had like four bags filled with food. It was heavy but she manged. She walked home taking a bit of time the area was a nice upper class area it seemed more then safe and she was thankful for that. Once she got to the house she knocked on the door she set the bags on the floor until he opened it her arms hurt but she did not care. She began to wonder why the doctor was being so kind to her? Well he was a wonderful kind person in her mind she would never forget his kindness in her time of need.

"Welcome back." He said upon opening the door. Seeing the bags of food, he couldn't help but wonder whether it was really true about how women started to crave things when they were with child. It amused him, a little bit, but he cut to the chase. "Has your mother contacted you? Or rather, does she know where to ask about you?" He lifted the bags from the slates of the porch. "I did a bit of detective work, and turns out your mother has expressed interest in ... meeting you." While reading through the various articles written on the disappearance of Anthony Smith, he had found an interview with his "beloved wife." She had told the reporters - cheesy, he had to admit - how she wished to be reunited with the only person she still had left.

To him, it might as well have been an invitation to Hell - who knew what a mother willing to abandon her child would do? She could not see Bella's pregnancy; it was at such an early stage that it only fatigued her significantly. And there was no way in Hell he would allow Bella to meet her mother until he knew what she wanted exactly. He had done it once, he would do it again if needed. Systematically killing off the people who - what was he thinking about?! His train of thought stopped abruptly; he couldn't be serious of what he was letting himself imagine! He wouldn't do that again, he had had his share of revenge.

Bella looked at him almost in tears. " She was not there when I needed someone the most she was not there to question him she was not there to stop him she did not even care......So why care now It is to late now.....She was to always choose me over him.....For goodness sake she gave life to me you'd think she would care about me even just a little." Bella tried to calm down she knew it was bad for her to get upset because of her state. She brushed it off and tried to change the subject.." I umm did not know what you like so I bought pasta and meat That way we both have food....I also got fruit and vegetables" Bella wiped some tears out of her face.
