((yes, she forgot to lock door, so he can open it))

Slowly opening the door without feeling any pain on his arm any longer the captain closed it slowly behind him then he locked it. But instead of getting closer to the woman he simply pressed his back against the door as he slid down to the floor. Finally when he was seated on the floor comfortably or not the captain spoke, "I have nothing Rhia... nothing in my life that I can truly say, 'this has made me happy', until now." His voice was ever so soft just above a whisper sounding like a beautiful musical harmony as he poured his heart out onto the floor. No longer did he care what happened... if she chose not to accept him then he would live with it, staying the way he was and allowing his heart to again grow cold to another part of his life.

"B-but...." Rhianwen looked at him, conflicted. So badly did she want to kneel beside him and take the handsome, gentle man into her arms and not let go. Fear and uncertainty kept her at bay. "I-I'm suppossed to hate you...I'm suppossed to leave first chance I get, I can't make you happy, I shouldn't make you happy....I...I can't want to get close....Captain....Genesis...." the girl tried to reason with herself and him, trying to make sense of the inner turmoil and longing she held in her heart.

Looking at the ground the captain listened to the words of the woman and her words seemed to make a great deal of sense as well as none at all to him. Maybe she was right, or maybe she was wrong but either way he had no business forcing her to make a decision. As the thoughts all flowed through his head his expression seemed to sink into a depression almost and then he finally spoke, "I... understand." Those words were all he could manage at the moment as he sat there with feelings clouding his thought process. His tone was very low and just above a whisper as his eyes never left the floor, then deciding that he should probably leave, the captain slowly rose to his feet. With a heart that was heavier now than it had ever been he turned around and opened the door as he prepared to walk out...

"W-wait....please?" Rhianwen suddenly felt very bad for making his spirits drop. Even more importantly however, she seemed worried and distressed at the notion of seeing him leave, seeing him avoid her company. "Don't go....."
The redhead sighed, biting her lip as she grabbed his wrist, stopping the male.

Lost and unsure of what to do the beloved captain asked, "Then what would you have me do milady?" Rhianwen had asked him to stay but did she want his company or was it something else? Genesis closed the door and slowly turned around but kept his eyes to the floor as his hair covered his face and he stood leaning against the wall. She had his full attention even if it didn't seem like it to her. His mind was racing as it was trying desperately to find a way to help the man cope with his feelings were they not to be returned. He didn't feel that he was in love but simply being rejected by the one person he had ever had his eye on made it hard for him to feel like he had been foolish. She was so special, so beautiful in his eyes and there was no way for him to explain to her how he felt but he had tried and that was all he could do. He had put his heart out there but Rhia had not wanted it and now he didn't know what to think as she asked him to stay, there was no reason for her to want him around...

"W-why do you like me? I don't understand. I feel so strange, so...different around you. How is it you seem to see right through me? I don't...why can I not stay mad at you? Why do I not feel so guarded and unsafe around you? Are you doing some magic? Some power? What is going on?" Rhianwen held his hand and looked into the emerald eyes of her captain, the serpent king she was scared to realize she wanted to always be near, and yet wanted to hide from.

Looking into the deep teal eyes of hers that represented the life that he now lead, Genesis thought for a moment about her questions before he responded, "I... There is no magic milady. I simply love to be in your company, you are... special in the way that I have never had an interest in anyone like this until I met you." His words flowed from his lips slowly like a soft lullaby being sung by a lover to his mate. He had never felt the urge to confess his feelings to anyone and here he was explaining how he felt to her. She didn't seem to understand what he felt and why but neither did he so there was no way to help her understand. When she took his hands, the serpent king felt as though his heart had warmed up, he touch was so gentle and soft. Instinctively he gently pulled her closer so that their bodies were pressed against each others as his shimmering emeralds gazed at her through the veil of his hair covering his face.

"I....I don't...feel special...not really...." Rhianwen felt her cheeks burn light red once more, looking up into the beautiful green eyes of his, the ones that made perfect emeralds in the light.
the young woman let him hold her, marveling at how strong, yet so gentle and tender his touch was. Ever so slowly, she rested her hand on his shoulders, head buried under his chin and in his chest. Rhianwen bit her lip, pulling away gently and hugging her small form, gazing deeply into his emerald gaze as if silently pleading with him, asking him for help, for understanding, for confirmation.

The male listened to her words and shook his head gently, "You are special, very special to me Rhia. If when we get to land you want to leave I won't try to stop you, but it will be painful to see you go. Never have I felt that I needed someone around in my life and here I am now, pleading for you to stay with me..." He stared into her eyes with a gentle and serene look on his face. She was perfect for him as far as he was concerned, then he again felt his body leaning in towards her again until it stopped just barely an inch from her lips. He could smell how sweet her breath was and how warm it was against his own lips. Her gentle touch sent shivers up his spine as they embraced and as he longed to feel her soft lips pressed against his once more...

Rhianwen blushed more, trying to puzzle and sort out her thoughts, her feelings. Feeling his touch, his breath, his voice on her ear, it made her spine tingle and shiver. Gazing up at him, the young redhead finally found her soft voice. "I.....I won't leave....I don't..I don't know why, but I don't want to leave. But....I'm..I'm scared...." the last part was whispered, almost in shame as the teal eyes looked away from Genesis.

The captain was confused by the last part of her response, why was she scared? Then curiously he asked, "Why are you scared Rhia?" He was curious as to if he was doing something to scare her away but if that was the case she would have never been here with him. What was it that was bothering her so that she couldn't seem to look at him...

"I'm scared to let anyone get too close....I don't want to be taken for a fool once more, once was enough. I-I'm not weak.." Rhianwen paused, taking a deep breath as she opened up a part of herself, ever so slowly feeling the ends of the icy walls around her heart begin to drip and slowly melt. "I'm not weak, but I'm scared...of being fooled, being hurt like that again....I want to believe all your words, but I'm scared to get close, scared to trust...."

Nodding in understanding the captain replied, "I can understand that... Let me say that you have nothing to worry about. I have never had any feelings for anyone before and I have seen many women who would have captured the hearts of men anywhere. But you were the only one who caught my eye and made me feel this way." His words were sincere as he stared into her mesmerizing eyes that captivated his attention. She was the only woman who had made him feel this way and he was sure that she was all that he wanted, and he wanted to make her feel that she could trust him but he didn't know how. She would simply have to have faith in him for the moment and let time tell his true intentions, he cared for her deeply.

Slowly and uncertainly, Rhianwen leaned up and planted a kiss on his cheek. One by one, her muscles began to relax as she leaned into the male before her. "He said...the same thing...." she whispered, barely loud enough for herself to hear.
After a few moments of silence, the young woman embraced the captain, hoping, praying she wasn't making a foolish mistake. "A-are you....Will you......be patient? Be patient while I....while I heal?" murmured Rhianwen shyly, mumbling and muffling the words into his chest, blushing all the while.

The captain couldn't hear what she first said but figured that if she had wanted him to she would have said it so that he could, so he simply stood there waiting. When she kissed him on the cheek he stood there silently and patiently for her to reject him as he had expected her to but he was taken aback when she asked if he would be patient for her. Immediately nodding his head as a slight grin graced his lips, "Of course I'll be patient, take your time..." he said as he hugged her tightly. He would wait for her as long as she wanted him too, that's how much she meant to him.

"T-thank you..Gen...." she murmured, sighing in relief. She used a short version of his name, just his name, for the first time. Leaning into the embrace this time, Rhianwen cuddled close to the serpent king she was succumbing to. It scared her, but at the same time elated her and gave her joy. Blushing as he held her to him, the halfling slowly began to purr, a slight, almost unnoticeable rumble.

The beloved captain held the woman tightly in his strong arms never wanting to let go and let this moment pass as they embraced for a short time before he had to break it off. Looking into her eyes he smiled gently then without saying anything else he turned around and walked outside to think and enjoy the beautiful day. Walking up to the quarterdeck he continued on to his usual spot and instead of leaning on it he sat down with one leg extended and the other curled to his chest as his arm rested on it. There were very few time that he ever sat in this position and it was only when he had something serious to let simmer on his mind. He felt like a giant weight had been lifted from his heart and his mind was slowly finding peace but he still was letting his brain sort everything out as it was hurting from all the thoughts that had flowed through it in such a short period of time.

Following him out, the redhead sat a foot away, giving him time and space should he need it. With a soft sigh, she began to once more toy with her gemstone pendant, letting her mind wander. Finally, despite her every forceful head shake and each attempt to hold herself awake, she drifted off into reverie. Rhianwen's body finally succomed to exhaustion.

After his mind finally slowed settled down and the headache went away he was fine. It seemed that things were going to be alright now since he was content with everything that had went down just moments ago. Genesis finally looked up to the sky and thought about Rhianwen's eyes which brought his attention to her only to find that she was sleeping. As a soft grin graced the lips of the captain he got up and walked over to her lifting her into his arms and taking her back to his room. He laid her in his bed and pulled the blankets over her as he placed a soft kiss on her forehead then walked out. She needed the sleep and he would allow her to sleep peacefully for the time. What he didn't know was that another pirate ship was on the horizon slowly headed towards them...

Rhianwen slept fitfully, her mind in turmoil as usual as she slept. The redhead tossed and turned, whimpering and feeling ice cold sweat on her brow. Skin pale, the young woman was caught up in her subconscious again. She clung to the sheets, shivering.

The captain was pacing around his ship and checking things along the way such as the masts and how sturdy they were and the sails to see if they looked as if they should be replaced not forgetting to give out a few orders here and there to several crewmen. The crew seemed to be working diligently as they cleaned the ship from front to back and the captain took the helm of the ship as they were closing in on island they had set course for a few days back. Then all of a sudden a crewman called out, "Captain!" Genesis looked up towards the crewman who was sitting in the eagles nest on the main mast of the ship, "Aye, what is it?" The crewman looked frantic as he called back, "There's another ship approaching, I can't tell who it is though sir!" Then looking out eastward the serpent king noticed that there was indeed another ship headed towards them, and just then there was a loud booming noise that came out. Immediately the captain called out, "All hands to battle stations! I will not have us taken in some surprise attack!" And in a heartbeat the crew began racing around the ship manning cannons and gathering the materials for a gun fight as well as their weapons in case they were boarded. Within under a minute the ship was firing again and they were shooting back...

Pale hair being brushed back by the sea breeze, a young man stood with confidence at the bow of his ship, a hint of a smirk playing across his lips. Watching the flurry of movement on the enemy ship, Lucian casually patted the hilt of his scimitar, his pistols seemingly ignored for the moment. Barking out orders to his crew, he once more raised the spyglass to his cold, grey-blue eyes. "The serpent king......." murmured the man, smiling and ordering the cannons to be at the ready as he sent up a series of flashes to confuse his opponent. After all, he couldn't have them attacking before he got on board to check a few things out.

Calmly the man looked on as his crew finally finished their preparations and he nodded to his first mate to give the order to fire back on the other ship. Finally flashes and thunderous booms came from the cannons of the black emerald as the serpent king grabbed his spyglass and looked out at the other ship. He saw the captain of the attacking ship and smiled, "So it seems that someone is coming to dethrone the king..." Closing his retractable spyglass he folded his arms over his chest and stood there calmly as the two ships exchanged fire and the enemy drew closer.

The man raised his arm, signaling his crew to cease fire. If they continued, the ships would blow each other to bits before the fight could even begin, and that wouldn't be any fun. That...would be boring. Smirking, the enemy captain looked at the ship, now 10 yards from his opponent.

Just when things on deck were as hectic as can be, a sailor ran up to Genesis with a concerned look. "Captain! We seem to have a few people not coming on deck to help. One of them is that girl yyou brought on, and she seems to be actin mighty strange...should we toss her over?"
