Devon looked right at Shiloh. "Well, we have been having a lot of fun lately. But we havn't been useing protection. I am worried that there might be a surprise down the line, if you know what I mean?"
Shiloh smiled at Devon. "I know what you mean but I guess now is a good time to tell you about it.... In my world, women are put on something called Period modifiers to control the thing woman get every month. When we get married, we are to stop using it in order to have children." She looked away. "Mine hasnt been deactivated yet... It deactivates in about two years. So for now were safe."
Alex could see that the woman that had just saved him was in pain. She was grabbing her neck as if she couldnt breath. Even though he still had handcuffs on, he could do something for her, like she did him. He picked her up and ran out of the back of the building into the fresh air of the station. There was a good hiding place next to a dumpster where he could lay her down and then run, or just stay with her. He decided he would stay with her. After all, she might have the key to his handcuffs. |
Sun took a few deep breaths as they made outside. Her throat was burning from that maze of a place, but she would be alright. "Thank you" She said to him as she realized they were behind a dumpster. And he still had his handcuffs on. Sun reached into her pocket and pulled out a bobby pin, putting it into the hole of the handcuff she moved it around a few times. Small clicking noises came from the cuffs, and finally they opened. A beaten up car pulled around the corner and stopped. "Get in the passenger side." Sun told him. Not really giving him any option. Hell, it was pretty much either go with Sun, or go back to jail. Sun got into the driver's side and turned the engine on.
Alex held out his hands when the woman decided to help him out of the handcuffs. There were so many clicks with the bobby pin she was working with that he thought that it wasnt going to work. It may not have taken long for the cuffs to come off but for him it took almost forever. He could see every single second until they finally came off. His relief to have his hands made it so that the circulation came back to his hands pretty slowly."Thanks." His relief was not expressed in his words but he was as relieved as a horse who had jsut been let go. Then he saw it. The get away car. His relief came even stronger and his facial expressions started to relax. When the woman told him to get into the passenger seat, she wasnt giving him much choice but he didnt care. He got into the passenger seat and waited for the car to move out. The police would wake up soon.

"Whew! That's a relief. Say, would you like to order some dessert?"
Shiloh started to laugh. She couldnt help it. "Yeah... I would like that. How about something chocolatey." Chocolate was her favorite dessert. Especially from when she tried it the night before when she had first met Devon.
Devon smiled. "I love it when you laugh" He orderd two bowls of chocolate ice cream.
Shiloh smiled and giggled to herself. "Thank you." He made her smile so wide she was happy that it was him that she had found on the first day.
The ice cream arrived. "Be careful not to eat this too fast. If you do, you'll get a headach called a brain freeze"
Shiloh laughed. "Sounds fun." She began to eat her ice cream slowly like he said but she got a brain freeze anyways. Her head felt like it was freezing literally. No wonder they had that name for it. With one eye open and a smile on her face she looked at Devon. "Like i said. Sounds fun"

Sun drove the flying car up and out of the alley. The camera's would have scene the car and license plate. She took off, driving normally and quietly. Though just a few minutes later the radio started to speak. The Police were radioing in the sitution. And had the car information of the suspect. Sun just smiled and pressed a button the released the camo of the car from a junk vehicle, into a very beautiful and slick white car. Some sirens passed by as Sun pulled up to a red light. "Too easy." She said out loud finally with a small smile.
Alex couldnt speak about what she had just done for him. It was so hard to do so. She saved his life by getting him out of the police station, gave him her air filtration capsule so he could breathe, put him in a get away car that seemed to have camoflauge in it. If he said all that he was thankful for, it was that she had been the one to walk into the interrogation room at the time he was thinking of a get away plan. The only words he could speak were: "Wow... Howd you do that?" Not the type of words he was hoping for to express his gratitude but just enough. Now all he was worried about were his other friends that were still stuck at the station. Maybe this woman would get them out as well when they find Shiloh and her new hot rod.
She knew his other friends were in the prison. Alex was the main target for the police though. Since he knew the most about Shiloh. The man did have a small crush on her after all. Sun just laughed a bit at his reaction to the whole thing. "I'm Asian.. That pretty much make me a ninja." She joked a bit with him as another car cut her off, forcing her to hit the brake pretty hard. She took a few turns before stopping at her apartment. This time a small place over a nearby store. Sun parked and got out. After leading him up a few flights of stairs, they were inside. The space was small, but livable. "Make yourself at home." Sun said going straight to her laptop on the table. It was already opened and she just leaned over it. "Damn.." She muttered.
Devon finished his dessert. "Well, we'd probably should head back to the hotel. Even with your new hair cut, some might still reconize you"
Shiloh finished her dessert as well. "Yeah. we probably shouldnt take that chance." Quickly she waved down the waiter who walked over. She asked for the bill and he handed it to her. She handed the bill over to him since he had the money and then got up taking her jacket off the chair. "Ready?"
Alex was a little confused. He didnt know what a ninja was really. Only that in some cultures they had people who could disappear and reappear somewhere else or act as cameleons. He didnt want her to know that he didnt know what a ninja was so he just turned away and waited for them to get to where they were going. They got to an apartment and she told him to make himself comfortable. He sat down ont he couch and looked around. Was it normal for an informant to be so casual with him? Why was she helping him in the first place? |
Sun moved the laptop and sat on the couch next to him. Her desktop was just up as it was loading. She headed into the kitchen and came back with two bottles of water. Mainly because she didn't have much else to eat at that time. Plus water was a very universal drink to have. Handing one to Alex she asked, "Why are you being so quiet?" Even though Sun already knew the answer. "You probably want to know why i am helping you right?" Sun continued without really allowing him to speak. "Well, to be quite honest when it comes to business my associates love a challenge. But, I really disapprove of your culture. No offense. You should be able to choose who you love. No matter how important they are." She simply explained. Not really looking at him. To be honest, the alien was making her a bit nervous.
Alex toook the water thankfully. "Sorry im just..." He listened to her continue on. When she was finished, he found himself to be a little calmer. "Thank you for getting me out of there..." He sighed. He wasnt good with words, not at all good with words, that was why he liked shiloh too. She could always get him out of those situations. "I just dont talk very well when it comes to situations like this... what would you like to know... It seems you know enough about my culture."
"Most everything I need to know, I already know. Just need confirmation from an inside person. And I have been reading you carefully, and choosing my words to before get a reaction out of you." Sun said, realizing that was a bit creepy of her to say like that. A smile grazed her pale lips and she turned her head to face him, "Like just now, I completely guessed about your culture... So why don't you ask me something to make you more comfortable and able to talk."
Alex looked at her a little surprised that she had guessed what his culture was like. "Just ask me what you want to know. Ill tell you what you want to know but you have to promise me something. Youll get her away from that guy that shes with and you get my friends out of jail.... Ill even tell you the reason we ran away and were being chased. You probably werent told were you?" He was being blunt so that he could get everything over with and get out of here with his friends.
"Your running away because she is engaged to the ambassador's son. That is the part I know." Sun said to him. Leaning back on the couch she kicked her shoes off and crossed her legs. "Why do you want to get her away from the guy she is with?" Sun asked him. Just out of pure curiosity.
((Short, Sorry >.<)) |
"Well its actually more than that. You see, in our culture, your matched up with a person from birth. She met the ambassador a while after she came of age to meet him. They had to live together for a week and it didnt work out the way it should have. She was independent and he beat on her when she tried to give out her view to him. She decided to deal with it the way she knew how. The next time he tried to beat her he was in for a surprise. She killed him with a knife to his chest and took the seal to the city to make it so that she had something to bargain with. I love her. Thats why i took her away with our friends. We were all against what happened to her and what our people did with their peoples lives. The system. Thats also why i want to get her away from the guy shes with. He doesnt deserve her since they just met."
Sun sat back in her seat a bit further this time. Such a great cover up the police did. Although, they probably did not even know about it themselves. The entire thing was a bit scary to her, but Sun liked the danger. Still, she had to bring something up with him. Though now was not the time. If Shiloh was unhappy with the new male, she would have killed him by now. Was Alex really just working off the fact he though he and Shiloh would be together? Maybe Shiloh saw him as just a good friend.. Sun sat up a bit. She honestly did not know what to say at first. Not that it was confusing. It just seemed saying the wrong thing could piss Alex off.. "I'm not sure what to say." She admitted.
"You dont have to say anything. I can tell what your thinking. Your wondering, if shes a murderer than why do i want him away from the guy, or why did i even help him at all. Its simple. I love her and we all hated the way she was treated by the ambassador's son. Shes not usually a violent person but if you had to go through a month of what she went through in a year, you would probably do the same thing. Its not that im scared for the guy. Im scared for Shiloh. She just met him and im not sure if hes going to know how to take care of her. Thats all. She didnt deserve what happened to her and the authorities wouldnt stop it because he was to be the next ambassador and no Talian should be able to do what he did but he did do it and thats all that matters." Alex sighed then looked at Sun. "Im sorry for what youve gotten into but its even worse now that she has a new man that breaks the law. no Talian is suppose to intermingle with people outside the Talian race. Thats three strikes on her. She needs protection."
Devon paid the bill, and walked Shiloh back to their hotel suite. "I'll go out shopping tomorrow to get you some more cloths. Your going to need more than just three outfits"
Shiloh smiled at him. "Ill come with you. That way we both can choose the outfits that I like ok?" They had gotten back to the hotel suit. "Wanna watch another movie?"
