It was a beautiful cloudy day and Anjay couldn't be happier to return to school. Sarcasm of course. School sucked it meant Anjay would have to be stuck in the same area with her obnoxious older brother. Like right now. She sighed looking over her shoulder where her brother was walking with his usual cocky grin. He smirked looking at her, "Isn't it great to be back?" Anjay's brother Dorian said with a bored tone as he walked quickly up the front steps into the school. "Yeah it's real a kill-fest..." She said dryly reminding herself that it was Dorian's last year and then she'd never have to see him again. Unless he fail. Again. So that was always a possibility. Anjay sighed but cheered up as she saw her friend Drina waving to her from across the lawn. Pausing Anjay waited for her friend to run over. "Hey Drina...you cut your hair..." "Hehee! Yep you like?" Drina asked with a small worried smile as she ran her fingers through her hair thinking. "Yeah it's kick and it fits you..." Anjay said looking at it. A boy walk up to them, "Girls please can't you even get into the school before you to start chatting..." He asked. Anjay rolled her eyes, "We're on the steps it's close enough..." Drina nodded looking at the boy. Lucas, the boy, sighed, "Come on before you guys are late..." He said ushering them in. The inside of the school was huge. There were students every where talking and laughing. The atmosphere was very relaxed. The girls grinned looking at the stain glass dome ceiling. It was quite magnificent, the school it's self was about 300 years old though it had many new additions to make room for all the dorms and classes. |
It was only the first day of school and already puffs of smoke came from the edge of the school grounds. Mizu and Arriane had been best friends in middle school, and still remained so today. On this lovely cloudy day, the two girls were sitting down around the fire that they had made. Of course it was in a dug out fire pit that they had made their freshman year at the school. In middle school, Mizu had purposefully failed to stay a grade behind.
"Great to be back in school huh?" Mizu smiled at her friend. They hadn't seen each other all summer. Arriane nodded. "Of course. I get to hang around with you again! Got any plans for the first day?" The two girls always talked about mischievous plots around their fire. "Unfortunately no. It is probably just going to be a normal boring school day. My parents arranged it that we got the same classes together." Mizu laughed. Her parents were rich and donated a lot of money to the school, and to their daughter. The two girl's conversation was promptly interrupted by the sound of foot steps. Quickly they put out the fire and rushed to the school, acting like they hadn't done anything. Around the corner, two red heads walked onto the campus, carrying bags like they had never been to the school before, which they hadn't. Shugo and Meimu were chatting amongst themselves while walking over to the dorm rooms to drop their bags off there. The few students that had seen them promptly went to spread the word that there was new students at the school. |
Dorian of course was one of the first to hear and wasted no time in giving his friend Lucas and sister the heads up, "Of course I haven't seen them yet...but I'll let you know what's what when I do..." He said his eyes flashing.
"Whatever man as long as they aren't trouble makers it's fine we have enough of those don't we Mizu...Arriane...you guys seem in a rush...where's the fire?" Lucas asked crossing his arms looking at them. "Looks like someone's prefect again huh..." Drina said looking with a frown. Lucas was well know for his strict obey of the school rules. Which considering who his best friend was, was pretty strange. Dorian was one of the worst students and if not for the fact that Anjay and Dorian's parents had built the school he probaly would have been expelled. Anjay smirked, "Ohh lucky lucky!" She knew full well that her brother made sure that Lucas was prefect every year. Not that any one else really wanted to be prefect but still. |
The two girls stopped and said at the same time, "What fire? There's no fire. We don't know what the hell you're talking about!!" Mizu and Arriane then decided to continue on their way, eager to get to their first hour class for some reason. Both of them weren't wearing shoes, like usual. Their poor first hour teacher had never came in contact with them before, and for now left the issue of the shoes alone since the bell hadn't rang.
The twins walked out of the dorms onto the outside campus. Shugo was the first one to notice all the staring. "The bright red hair...I tell you sis. I'm dying it black." Meimu pouted. "Aw come on! They'll stop staring after a couple of days like they normally do. Besides..." She continued while taking a lolipop out of her book bag and putting it in her mouth. "We don't need to be around them anyway so let them stare. They'll think what they want to think and then move onto something more interesting." Shugo chuckled a bit at his sister's attempt to change his mind. He only admitted that it was a good argument. "I'm still dying it black." He smirked when he saw his sister look like she was sulking. The twins walked up the steps and entered the school building. |
"The aren't wearing shoes! Again!" Lucas cried rubbing the bridge of his nose.
Dorian chuckled at his friends antic, "Get over it they never wear them quit worrying...." Lucas looked him shaking his head, "I should give you a detention...." "For existing?" Anjay offered with a cold glare to her brother who stuck out his tongue. Lucas just shook his head looking to Drina for help. "Can you tell me why I do this ever-oww..." Lucas said as he was silence by a punch from Dorian as he looked at the new comers. Anjay nodded at them her nose twitching as she realized they were vampires. "Oh....you must be the new students..." Lucas said rubbing his arm where he had been punched. |
Shugo's eye-lids lowered some as they were noticed, it was his way of saying to his sister that there were other vamps around as well. "A lovely greeting I must say."
Meimu laughed some. She had realized that two of the four in the group were vamps. This made her day look up some. "Yeah. The New Students." Both of them shook their head and went to walk around the group, when a squeal came from one of the class rooms. "Mizu!! Look!!" Arriane came running out of the class room, sliding on the bottom of her socks and coming to a hault just in front of the twins. "They're hair is SO RED!" Mizu came running out not far behind Arriane, stopping right beside her. "Oh my gosh it is!! I bet you two like fire!" The twins weren't quite sure what to do about these two that had stopped so close to them. |
"Oi! Back up freshies this isn't a petting zoo!" Dorian said looking at the girls.
"And you were just running in the halls....and please some shoes...would it kill you guys...the day just started and you two could already have a week worth of detention..." Lucas sighed looking at the two girls. Anjay laughed looking at the two new comers, "Yeah your hair is really red? Is it natural? That's really cool...." She said smiling. Driana nodded in agreement, "Yeah I always wanted red hair...but my mom would freak if if ever dyed my hair..." She said with a frown. |
Mizu, she politely backed up. "Shoes are for squares."
Arriane nodded in agreement before backing up some. "And us get detention? The teachers stopped doing that for this year. Mizu's parents threatened to take the donations away." Mizu nodded and looked proud to be a spoiled child of rich parents. "Yeah. So we get to run in the halls and not wear shoes all we like this year!" The twins looked at each other for a bit, a mutual feeling of Mizu and Arriane being completely nuts showed in their eyes. Shugo then turned his attention to the other two that had spoken about their hair. "please by all means take the red hair." Meimu promptly whined "Brother your so mean. Our natural hair makes us special!" Shugo rolled his eyes, "It attracts the strangest people, who give the strangest looks, and want to do the strangest things." He glanced at his sister, who started to pout again. "If one person in this school doesn't ask or say anything about the red hair, than I won't dye it." He triumphantly smirked. Meimu lowered her head and sighed. |
Lucas stared at the girls in horror, ".........." He shook his head.
Dorian laughed at the new guy, "Good luck with that one....I'm Dorian by the way Dorian Kouru...and this is my little sister Anjay..." Anjay frowned, "Sadly we are related..." Dorian rolled his eyes. "I'm Lucas Confair..." Lucas said with a small smile. "Drina Lenad....nice to meet you..." She said with a smile. Anjay looked at them curiously. It was strange for Vladimir's to have transfers from other schools. |
Mizu and Arriane smiled brightly at Lucas before turning to the twins.
"Arriane Johnson, quite possibly the best person you'll ever meet." she paused a bit and grinned, looking at Mizu. "Though I'm sure you'll find my friend quite ties with me." Mizu smiled brightly. "I'm Mizu Sui. And the only thing that might make me more awesome is the fact that I could flip you a fifty and not care if you pay me back." She smirked. The twins looked at each one as they introduced themselves, and then looked at each other. They took a step back and put one hand behind their back while the other folded onto their stomach. They were surprisingly right on time with each other. "I am Shugo Keane." "And I am Meimu Keane" They both lifted their heads up and smirked, showing a little bit of their fangs, "And we're the Keane Twins." |
Dorian aplauded then looked at Anjay, "Now why can't we do somethig like that?" He asked nudging Anjay.
With a roll of her eyes Anjay answered, "Because if I actually spent the time it would take to do something like that wit you I'd probally stab myself with a stake in the heart." She said smiling with false sweetness at her brother. "Ow…" Said Lucas and Drina. Dorian looked at her kind of taken aback, "Yeah I'd say wasn't aware you hate me that much…" "I don't your just annoyig after a while…" She said with a sigh crossing her arms over her chest. Dorian chuckled at that. |
The twins both chuckled. It was refreshing for the both of them to actually seem to be fitting in to a school.
Mizu and Arriane had seemed to have gotten bored. Pretty soon they took off running down the hall, sliding at random times and then running some more. Meimu looked at her brother and whispered "at least they don't chase each other with real stakes." She giggled some. Shugo shook his head laughing some, "One time....just one time and you won't let me forget it." By this time Meimu had un-knowingly ate all of her lolipop, including the stick portion of it. Once she noticed that she had though, she took another out of her bag and popped it in her mouth, wrapper and all. "So you guys want to show us around? Me and my brother managed to keep our schedules the same." A small playful hint of how they did so sounded in her voice. Shugo merely started to look bored at the aspect of a tour. |
"Sure!" Anjay and Drina said smiling.
"Can't I have to put my things away before some one takes our room…" Dorian said as he and Lucas waved farewell and they walked of talking male nonsense. Drina frowned watching them go before smiling at the twins. "So you want the grand tour right?" smilig as she began to walk down the main hall way pointing out the names of all the old Headmasters and Mistresses. Anjay chuckled looking at the portraits. She knew each one, they were all vampires that her parents talked to often. She smiled proudly at the pictures of her parents as Drina explained, "And these two people are Zackary and Magret Kouru they were the founders of the school and Anjay's great times five or something grand parents. |
Meimu smiled at the idea of a grand tour. It made it sound absolutely fancy. Shugo had merely sighed and followed along side his twin. He could tell that Meimu was actually really interested in the history of this place. To not be rude, he looked at all the pictures on the wall.
Meimu really didn't stop smiling as everything was explained. She also looked at her brother when it was said that Zackary and Magret were five or so times great grand parents. It was a mutual understanding that this 'fact' was probably highly unlikely. She stopped in front of the picture of the two. "You must get some perks than, huh Anjay?" |
Anjay gave a toothy grin, "I know all the secret passage ways..." She said in a low whisper as she glance at the picture of her parents, "But yeah a ton or perks...."
Drina chuckled, "Like that party your brother threw last year..." Anjay nodded chuckling, "Exactly...." Drina nodded as they moved on the the dinning hall. It had several long tables and a high glass ceiling. "This is where we eat...." Drina said pointing. |
The twins looked at each other before continuing to follow. They would ask Anjay about the secret passageways another time.
"A party!? Will there be one this year?" Meimu asked, she sounded really excited about the prospect of a party. Shugo merely groaned and shook his head. The last party that the twins had went to had ended in disaster, and them having to move again. The two looked at the dinning hall, only their faces showed the slightest hint of what they were thinking, and that was of astonishment that something could look so nice. |
"Probaly Dorian always trieds to throw one..." Drina said tapping her finger against her bottom lip thoughtfully. She smiled at the twins, "Most likely there will be a couple of parties. The upperclassmen always' throw some...but you have to be careful with the parties here....sometimes people get hurt or go missing....and most of the time they turn up dead..." Drina said softly.
"....yeah..." She said giving the twins a look that said explanation later, as she rolled her eyes. "A lot of kids are convinced that the school is haunted..." Drina said shivering. She had obviously believe the story about the school being haunted. And it suited the vampire student's fine for the humans to think so after all it kept them out of it. |
Meimu jumped up and down. "Parties!! I could be a detective at the party and look to see what is happening." she smirked before giggling some. She was clearly not worried about people disappearing at all, or even serious about finding out what was happening to them. Both the twins had a feeling that the disappearances were due to vampire type things or something else, it still perked their curousity, but they were around a human and Shugo believed that they should act accordingly.
Shugo shook his head at his twin. "You'll have to excuse her. She seems deaf to emotions of sadness over other people's losses." His tone of voice had gone a bit cold, this caused Meimu to stop being so happy and look down mumbling a "sorry." He then looked at them, "We don't believe in things being haunted...Of the schools we've been to...they've all been 'haunted'. We've come out okay so we must scare these things." |
Drina sighed in relief, "Really then I'll just stick by you guys...I don't want to die...."
Anjay rolled her eyes looking at her friend, "Haven't I kept you safe?" She said with a frown as she twirled her hair around her finger. She loved her friend by sometimes it was hard to be so close and sharing all your secrets. Except for the most important one. About her being a vampire. That was a secret that she most defiantly tell Drina. "Yeah so maybe with all three of you they'll go away completely!" Drina said hopefully. "Doubt it..." Anjay said coolly with a small chuckle. |
The twins both laughed some.
"Things that love to haunt places won't go away so easily. They'd have to be scared of everyone in this building." Shugo said, smirking some. Meimu nodded in agreement with her brother. "Or you could burn turns of in-scents, but that doesn't work either. It just stinks of up the place and gets you kicked out." She shrugged some at the memory. "So when does class start anyway?" She wondered aloud. |
Anjay nodded in agreement watching Meimu, "Uh they start in a out half an hour…" She said looking at her watch with a sigh.
"Then I have to get going I have history in room 600 and I gotta get going or I'll be late! See ya Anjay! Meimu, Shugo it was nice to meet you we'll finish the tour later!" Drina said as she took off. Anjay waved good bye pulling out her own schedule looking it over with a frown, "Probaly should have looked at this before the school day began…what do you guys have first?" |
