Requirement?! Oh why had he thought this venture would turn out wonderful. Now he was a prisoner, a far cry from the explorer he had dreamed of becoming. Solat began to back away out of the doorway. No matter what he was not going to enter that room.
'It's for your own good,' Nür said. 'It won't last long.'
Solat ignored her and turned to leap up over the guards. He hit the ground running and headed straight back for his ship.
The guards turned and fired their guns. It was only a stun shot, but it would be enough to keep him unconscious until the next day.
Solat felt the shots hit his back and fell to the ground. He tried to fight against the effects, but he soon blacked out and fell on his face to the pavement.
The guards moved Solat into the room and strapped him down on the bed. For the next twenty-four hours, there was round the clock surveillance. The next day, just before Solat was supposed to be waking up, Nür walked in, undid the straps, and sat in the corner to wait.
Solat woke slowly and blinked a few times before the room came into focus. He looked around at his new surroundings and groaned miserably. He found he wasn't tied down and stuck with needles though, which was a small relief. He noticed Nur sitting nearby and swung his legs over the side of the bed to get a better look at her. "How long have you been there?" he asked.
''Bout an hour,' Nür said. 'Sorry we had to stun you, but you can leave in about five minutes.'
Solat was a little embarrassed at that. He felt foolish now for reacting so negatively. "Thank you. I hope to see you again, and I apologize for my actions yesterday."
Nür shrugged a little, smiling slightly. 'These rooms are boring, trust me. At least you got to sleep through most of it.'
Solat nodded and stood. Then paused. "Is my ship being held somewhere as well?"
'In our hanger,' Nür said. 'Mind if I take a look at it sometime?' She was itching to get inside of it and see how it worked.
Solat thought about it for a moment. He wasn't on any kind of schedule, so it wouldn't be that much of a problem. She looked trustworthy enough, and he kind of liked her to be honest. He smiled and nodded. "You could take a look at it now if you want," he offered.
Nür grinned. 'Thanks. Feel free to do whatever you like for the next little while.' She was already walking down the corridor, her mind wondering what sort of technology Saturnians would have.
Solat panicked and banged at the door. "Wait, not without me!" he called. He didn't want her touching his ship without him watching.
Nür looked back at him, raising an eyebrow and grinning a little. 'If you insist. It'll still work when I'm done with it, don't worry.'
