Julian turned to look at her and raised his tail, to show her.

"I only think that legs are cool is because if I had permanent legs then I wont have the burden of staying stuck undewater, eating tasteless seaweed," said Julian. "I only have my legs when I dry my fins but when i do I'm what you call stark naked, that's why i submerge my tail in the water."

"ah i see....im not what you would call human though..im anything but human"Shinku admitted as she sometimes wish the person who saved her life she wished he hadn't.

"im merley a monster"Shinku said as she frowned a bit.

Julian turned his head to the side not understanding what she meant

"If i'm not a monster in your terms, what are you then?" Julian asked. "You most certainly look human to me."

"im what an average human would call a bloodsucker"Shinku said as she frowned as she remembered when she was first turned into a vampire she lost control at the hospital drinking nearly every nurses and doctors blood

Julian understood what he meant and then turned around abd lay on his belly his tail in the air looking at her.

"So you're a vampire, vampire's are natives to this island as well, but i have never seen a foreigner vampire," he said to her.

"really?im not anything interesting i had a painful past and my life as it is is painful too so this vampire isn't different from any other

"Shinku said a bit nervously as she wondered how on earth she was suppose to have fun if they're were natives who they wern't to speak with.

Julian smiled and then sighed and then dipped his tail in the water and raised it again.

"Have to be careful in front of you, taht i dont turn human, i know that the males of your species hide their thing, honestly if you ask me i dont understand that what that thing is used for," said Julian to her. "So you have nothing to fear, i'm just curious about your species is all."

"where i live they don't care for hiding it they only use it to abuse women...they think just because were women they think were defenseless and use their thing to take advantage of us"

Shinku said in an angered and pained tone as she was speaking from experience."if anyone dares touch me like that while im defenseless i wont know what to do"

Julian listened to her rant and then looked at her.

"Based from the way you speak, you had experienced that, in my father's kingdon all women and males are treated alike, except for me who is going to succeed the throne, so i'm getting the strict you-must-know-everything-to-rule-the-kingdom treatment, there's no fun at all, evrydday its just books, books, and books" said Julian. "The foreign world must be a tough place for you to live in."

"ah i see..why are you going to succeed the throne?"Shinku asked in a calm tone."it is very hard to live in the world i live in...i wasn't always a vampire i was only turned into one due to on my 6th birthday me and my family were in a huge crash no one survived.

when i woke up i was in the hospital craving for blood"Shinku admitted as she felt ashamed somehow.

Julian smiled at her and then dipped his tail again

"Because I am the first prince to the city of Atlantis," said Julian. "I know i have to succeed someday and i know why i must know my all, the expectations are killing me, they want me to be this perfect copy of the king, which i know i cant, and yet i try."

he said the last one with a sigh and burried his head in his arms.

"I'm pathetic right?" he asked.

Shinku shook her head."your not pathetic,your brave and a bit optimistic,im quite jelious of how determined you are"shinku said with a smile."if i was that optimistic i wouldn't have been abused by my ex and being hunted down by him"

Shinku said as she remembered the last time she saw her ex he tried to abuse her more brutally than ever though not by beating her.Shinku let out a sigh

Julian looked at her and then sighed.

"By abusing, you mean he beats you up?" Julian asked. "In my kingdom we dont tolerate people who abuse their wives, we give them their due punishment."

Shinku shook her head "he does but not anymore he does more brutal things now...and he wont stop because seeing me like he does is how he has fun."shinku said slightly putting her head down.

"Whenever im in pain he laughs and when i want him to stop and say stop i know he wont.he wants me to feel the pain wherever i go.no matter how far i am from him i can still feel the pain and the stress from him on me"

Julian frowned he was getting worried.

"So let me guess he uses his thing to hurt you, the fellow mermaids who lived on land say this thing is used for reproduction purposes though i dont understand how, dont tell me he forced to inseminate you," said Julian.

Shinku nodded."at first i thought he loved me...when i found out i was wrong i tried to escape...but when i tried he basically tied my hands so i wouldn't pull anything like i did the first time"Shinku said nervously

"when he did it to me for the first time i grabbed a baseball bat and began beating him and then escaped...somehow he survived.Im not sure how i thought i had killed him."

Anger burst forth from Julian, he was angry that that guy raped her

"That guy has no respect for ladies, he should have his thing cut and thrown in jail," stormed Julian. "No lady should be treated that way even if you're from a different species."

Shinku smiled a bit."he diserves to be in jail for many years"Shinku said as she layed her legs flat onto the sand letting the water touch her feet.
"my name is Shinku by the way...your a very kind person"Shinku said with a smile once again

Julian's anger dissipated and then he smiled

"Nice to meet you Shinku, my name is Julian," said Julian. "Dont worry i wont do anyhting funny to you, but you better beware, there are others who will try and do the same thing you, you do know the secret of this island do you, we you did meet me, so you probably get the jist of it."

"i actually don't know the secret of this island...mind sharing the secret if you can?"Shinku said a bit embarrassed that she didn't know the secret of this island

Julian's anger dissipated and then he smiled

"well, most of the inhabitants here are half-breeds, you know centaurs, satyrs, mermaids that kind of thing, I said that Vampires are native here also," said Julian. "i bet your leader told you not to associate with us, and he was correct a bit, the centaurs are good marksmen, the nekos are antsy if you come near them they'll attack, the inus will attack when they see you, the vampires will either drain you or inseminate you while draining you, If I was hostile i would have drowned you already."

"so in other words...don't let your guard down?"Shinku said as she didn't any species dare come near her or trying to rape her."i never knew how many species were on this island..."

Julian nodded and then he shrugged

"I dont know half of the things in land," said Julian. "I come here only to relax or to check on the merpeople city here on land and i go back to Atlantis, that's all, so i dont really know the other species."

"im not even sure why im on this god forsaken island"Shinku said laying down with a sigh.

"before i was here i was moving my things out of that man's apartment while he was out so he wouldn't see me...my friend was helping me..."Shinku explained to Julian

Julian looked at her

"Then let me guess, when you woke up you were here in this place already," said Julian.
