"really?"Maria asked as she tilted her head.Maria thought that he didn't seem like the type of person to get a hangover and then get sick.He seemed like a real gentlemen to Maria as he was quite nice to her

"He likes to stay out late at the local night clubs when his work is slow," Jason explained. The man had little self discipline, but lots of practice in being a host. He had probably taken a liking to Maria as well, for whatever reason. Just then another knock came at the door. Jason frowned over at it. "Yes?" he called.

"Hey Jason, it's you neighbor!" Zain's voice called back in a sing-song tone. Jason's expression immediately turned to irritation. He got up and strode over to the door, opening it only a crack to reveal Zain's grinning face. "Haven't I told..." Jason began, but Zain shushed him. "Hush hush, you grumpy old bear. I have nothing going on today, so I thought I might visit Maria in your oh so clean abode," the other explained. He then slipped past underneath Jason's arm into the room.

Maria tilted her head as she wasn't sure what Zain was doing her though she didn't mind Zain or Jason's company she liked both of their company very much as seeing both of them made her very happy.

Jason caught Zain by the collar of his robe and jerked him back. "You're not allowed in my apartment. If you wanted to chat with Maria, you should've invited her to stay longer." Zain turned to look back at him with a pout. "But what if I wanted to visit you too...?" he said in a mock sad voice. Jason's irritated look turned into a glare. "Like hell you do. Now get out before I throw you out," Jason threatened.

Maria thought Zain was acting so cute as when he pouted and when he tried to get into Jason's apartment. i wonder why he wanted to talk to me or and Jason so badly? Maria thought as she slightly smiled at Jason

Jason raised an eyebrow at her smile. Zain looked at her curiously as well from where he hung in Jason's grasp. "Do you have something to say?" Jason asked her.

"nope nothing at all"Maria said as she slightly giggled at the two of them. they act so cute even though their probably being serious

Jason sighed and shoved Zain out into the hallway, shutting the door in Zain's surprised face. Zain punched lightly at the door. "Meanie!" he called. Jason slid the deadbolt shut and turned back to Maria. "Never let Zain in, understood?"

Okay..but if i may ask why?"Maria asked tilting her head as she was unaware why Jason wouldn't let Zain in. is it because of Jason's secret that...he's a demon? Maria wondered

"For one, he's too clever and nosy. He thinks I'm hiding something, which of course is true. I also found out years ago after moving here that leaving the door unlocked at night is to be avoided. My first morning here, I woke up to find my apartment a mess and him asleep at the end of my bed like a dog."

"ah i see...that i can understand"Maria said with a smile as she nodded.Maria began to stretch a bit as her body was feeling a bit stiff. i wonder what my dress will look like.... maria thought to herself as she looked up at Jason

Jason smiled down at her. "Feeling tired?" he asked before glancing out the window. He hadn't noticed how dark it was outside.

"just a bit"Maria said as she was a bit embarrassed."say what time is it,it looks pretty dark outside"Maria said as she looked over toward the window then toward Jason

Jason checked his watch. "Half past nine. I believe we missed dinner as well. Are you hungry?"

"y-yeah"Maria said as she wondered what they would have for dinner. i wonder if i can help out in the kitchen again..i really like cooking with Jason its really fun

Jason went over to fridge and looked in. Well, there was always more vegetables to boil. Being a demon as old as he was, it was rare that he ever really got hungry, so food had never mattered much before Maria came along. He looked back over to her and shut the fridge. "I'll be right back. Zain's bound to have something more than vegetables," he said as he headed toward the door.

After a short while Jason returned with a picnic basket. He sat down on the couch and set the basket between them. He opened it up and brought out two cans of soup and a huge half of french bread. "Turns out he doesn't have much either, but at least its a change." Jason also took out a can opener and popped a hole in the top of one of the cans, handing it over to her.

Maria slightly tilted her head as she waited to see what Jason would do with the can of soup as she wasn't sure since she really never lived with such freedom she would always get gross tasting food which she would rather not eat then to eat the hospital food

Jason made a hole in the other can and was about to take a drink from it when he noticed Maria watching him. He smiled and lowered his hand. "Would you like a bowl instead?"

"n-no i was just not sure rather to drink it or not"Maria said with an nervous laugh as she began drinking her soup.For some strange reason Maria felt a bit nervous when she was drinking her soup with Jason though she wasn't sure why why am i so nervous...why is my heart beating fast? Maria asked herself

Jason took a sip from his and then put the can down to pick up the bread, splitting it in two for the both of them. He handed her a half and gave her a curious look at the nervousness in her tone. "Something wrong with the soup?" he asked.

"n-no its good"Maria said as she smiled at Jason as she then took the piece of frenchbread Jason had given her.i need to stop acting so nervous!why in the world am i so nervous my heartbeat keeps speeding up faster

Jason took another sip of his soup, watching her in concern. Something was bothering her, that he could tell, but he had no idea what. "What's bothering you, Maria?" he finally asked, setting down his food.

"nothing's bothering me...im just really happy"Maria said with a smile as she sipped her soup and took a little bite of her frenchbread.im only acting more suspecious maybe its because i like him or maybe i just feel happy...im not even sure what this feeling is

Jason was about to ask another question, but decided against it. He didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable. He stared down at the food in his hands in thought. But why was it that he wanted to know so much about her every thought? Of course it was impossible, in a way. He could delve into her mind with his power, but it would require too much and be far too obvious. He bit into his bread and turned his gaze back to her, settling on just watching her to maybe figure her out.

Maria hadn't noticed Jason was watching her as she bit another bite into her head as though she was blushing a bit. w-why am i blushing?i don't understand what this feeling is...i never felt it before..Could it be that its....love?...no it couldn't be...could it? Maria asked herself as she took another sip of her soup when she had finished her peice of bread
