"I'm guessing a half-breed since you're still susceptible to human disease." Jason looked around the small room at the equipment that beeped and flashed in a timed fashion. The only means of entertaiment was a television set above the sink. This room really was as lonely as she made it sound.

Maria nodded."yeah"Maria said as she kept her eyes on the window as she clentched onto the sheets trying to hide the pain of her staying her for the rest of her life. i don't want to be here anymore...im not getting any better Maria thought as she avoided eye contact as she began burrying her head on her knees wishing all of this would go away

"I still have my offer. My blood would be enough to heal you."

"how?...How do you know if it'll work...my body could reject your blood"Maria said as she was beginning to breakdown."im really loosing it.."Maria said with a slight laugh."nothing can heal it...its either i die or a wait for a donor..with dying in the process"Maria said frowning a bit."your probably sick of me am i right?"Maria said closing her eyes a bit as the medication they gave her was in full effect

Jason reached out to lift her chin with his fingers. "Don't give up. I know you're more stubborn than that." He pulled his hand away and reached to take a tissue from the bedside table. He held it under his hand as he brought his finger to his mouth and bit down slightly into the skin. A drop of blood formed on the tip and he held his hand out to her, using his other hand to hold the napkin under it just in case. "Go ahead, you need it."

Maria's eyes widened a bit as she saw the blood forming on Jason's finger. even if it doesn't help i can at least try... Maria Thought as she held onto Jason's hand that was bleeding and gently licked the blood off of his finger

Jason held his hand steady as she did so. He pressed on the end of his cut finger to push out more blood. "Keep going until I tell you to stop." If he remembered it correctly, it should take no more than a minute at the most. Hopefully it would work for her sake.

Maria kept licking Jason's finger as he pushed more blood out as her blue eyes flared deep red as she hoped he would stop her stoon before she would loose control of herself by drinking too much of Jason's blood. his blood it tastes very unique..but it tastes better than any human blood i have tasted...I haven't tasted anybody's blood since the last time i sneaked out of the hospital...though those times i only snuck out to find a feast to feed on

Finally Jason pulled his hand back and wrapped the tissue around his finger to stop the blood. She had taken a little more than he had expected. The intercom beside her bed suddenly switched on and the voice of the nurse came out. "Need anything Maria?" the voice asked.

As Maria heard the nurses voice she shook her head."no im fine thank you though"Maria said not looking at the nurse as she hopeed he didn't have blood on the side of her lips or anything like that as to what she usually had blood on the side of her lips a bit though she remembered she licked Jason's blood from his finger instead of his neck.

The intercom shut off and Jason stood to go over to the sink. "It might take a while for any change to take place, but you will know for sure when it does," he explained. He rinsed off his finger and went briefly into the bathroom to flush the napkin. Then he went back to the end of her bed to sit and watch her.

Maria nodded as her pure red vampire eyes closed.As She reopened them they had finally turned back to blue."thank you..."Maria said to Jason as she never really wanted Jason to leave her side as Jason was actually quite special and very important...i wonder if Jason gave me his blood because he cares for me? no one really has cared for me the nurses say the doctor was worried but i don't believe them to be honest She thought to herself as she was deep in thought

"Your welcome. I hope you don't mind if I stay for a while. I want to be sure it works for you," Jason said. Now that he thought of it, he was glad he had turned his car around and picked her up that night. It was a little grim to think what would've happened to her if he hadn't, even if the squad didn't pick her up. "Is there anything I can get you, since we missed breakfast this morning?"

"i don't midn if you stay a while i actually would love for you to stay here a while"Maria said with a smile.As Maria heard Jason asked if he should get her something to eat for her she shook her head."im not normally hungry in the morning i usually loose my appetite a lot"Maria said with a little laugh as though her figure was quite small."usually in the morning i can't stop vomiting" Maria said as she felt a bit embarrassed a bit

Jason frowned for a second, then sighed and tried to smile again. "Hopefully the effects will take hold at least by the next morning. I'm curious, what do you plan to do once you're free of the hospital?" She must have been living by so restraints for so long, she probably had a long list somewhere of things to do and see. He also wondered if she had a home outside of the hospital. Hopefully she did.

"im not sure i don't exactly have a place to live or any family nor friends"Maria said with a bit of a laugh as the hospital pretty much was her home ever since she was immitted."before i was immitted i was going place to place..hotel to hotel until i would get kicked out due to my vampire side. when i hadn't realized i had Luekemia i was too weak to even notice and one morning i had actually blacked out and woke up here."Maria told Jason.

"You were lucky that someone found you. There's a shelter for homeless women over by the main post office. You would be welcome there."

"yeah..."Maria said as she really didn't want to live there or anywhere to make her uncomfortable nor she didn't want to bother Jason with her problems in her life that are soon to catch up to her

Jason noticed her uncertainty. "What's troubling you?" he asked.

"i don't want to trouble you with my problems im facing with life" Maria said with a laugh. even though i like His company here...i feel like im making him talk to me and be here i don't want to trouble him...im a troublesome girl..to begin with....

"I didn't come here just to help you physically. You can talk with me too."

As Maria heard Jason speak she smiled a bit Though she was afraid of something but she couldn't tell what."im scared...but i don't know what im scared of or why im even scared.."Maria said as she shook her head a bit trying to shake the feeling off as she held her head a bit as in her head all she could see was bloodshed. wh-why can i only think of bloodshed?

Jason reached up to touch her shoulder lightly. "You have nothing to fear Maria. You can put your old life behind you now."

it must be that stupid medication the doctor gave me thats making me see all of my past memories Maria thought to herself as she nodded."Its not my past im scared of...its my future..." maria muttered to herself as she tried to hold in her tears "im not sure why...or what im scared of in my future maybe im scared of being miserable all my life..?"

"At least this part of your life," Jason said as he gestured to the room around them, "Can be over with. What else is troubling you? You can tell me, I don't think it would shock me," he said with a smile.
