"i don't want to me miserable and lonely all my life"Maria told Jason.."my parents died in a train accident when i was 3 i was with them though i was the only survivor of the train and...im not sure what to do with my life or even how to live it..."

Jason never thought Maria would be so depressed. What could cheer her up though? "Would you like to go do something fun tomorrow, just to get out and relax?" he asked. Normally he wouldn't even think of walking about town with someone her age. It usually annoyed him in the past when taking his theater group out for icecream or to the summer circus. He would do whatever it took to help Maria though, and when he thought about it, he wasn't exactly sure why. He had barely known the girl for a day and already so much had happened.

"sure" maria said with a smile i wonder why im scared of my future?maybe im just lonely or maybe i just feel like something or someone important in my life is missing?

The door opened and a nurse peeked her head in. "Hello there sweetie, ready for you pills?" she asked in a sweet voice. Jason got up off the bed to let the nurse set down the tray. The nurse turned to Jason briefly. "It's her shower time too, so you might want to give her some privacy," the nurse advised him. Jason nodded and glanced back to Maria. "I'll be back in about two hours," he informed her as he opened the door. That should plenty of time for her to get settled back again before he returned.

Maria looked at the nurse."yes im ready"Maria said with a smile."okay i'll see you later then"Maria said looking toward Jason waving a bit as she smiled. i wonder where he's going to be taking me?i can't wait im so excited i must look my best. Maria thought as she took the pills off of the tray and swallowed them as they were a second nature to her now as she took a lot of medication each day.Maria stood up and then began walking to the bathroom so she could get undressed to take her shower

Jason wandered around the gift shops and hospital cafe while he waited. The cafe food was horrible and bland, but he should have known better anyway. Food here was kept bland for the patients. He saw quite a few of them down in the cafe, and though it sounded cruel, their appearance made his appetite disappear. He went instead to look around at the small gift shops. He might find something there.

Jason returned to Maria's room right when he said he would, but he knocked first just in case. Under his arm was a stuffed penguin wearing a bowtie that he was trying unsuccessfully to hide from people passing in the hallway.

As Maria was in the bathroom she undressed herself while she took her shower.Most of the time she had to sit down though because she usually got dizzy and felt weak.As she finished her shower she turned off the water she tried off a bit and put on a different white dress though it had blue around the edges as under the chest part it had a ribbon on it.When she opened the bathroom door and closed it behind her she was trying her hair with a towel as she heard knocking on it she opened and saw Jason and smiled up at him."come in"She said in a gentle tone

"Glad to see your still doing good. This is for you," Jason said as he held the penguin out to her, "A woman in the gift shop recognized your name and insisted that I buy this for you."

Maria blushed a bit as she saw the cute penguin with the bow tie.As Maria took the penguin plushie she smiled at Jason."thank you"Maria said in a cheerful tone i'll never forget this moment or what you've done for me... Maria thought as she held onto the Penguin plushie

Jason laughed a little. "Your welcome. I can stay for about an hour more unitl I have to leave to meet someone. Do you want me to stay until then?"

Maria nodded."yes i would like you to stay until then"Maria said as she smiled at Jason as she walked back over to her bed sitting down on it as she kept holding the penguin Jason had given her the penguin plushie is so cute.. Maria thought to herself as she curled her legs up to her chest

"Alright," Jason said as he sat back down on the edge of her bed. He wasn't exactly looking forward to meeting Peter, the theater's biggest sponser, anyway. He could push his visiting time just a little.

Maria smiled at Him Happily as she wondered what they should talk about as she tried listing some sort of topic to find though most of the topics that came in her head were nonesense sort of topics,maybe i should ask what his job is?no thats probably too personal it would seem as if i liked him or something Maria thought with a slight laugh in her thoughts as she didn't laugh out loud but in her thoughts

"What do you plan to do as a career?" Jason asked. Simple and general enough question. He wasn't expecting much of an answer, but maybe it could get a conversation going.

"i want to be a baker"Maria said with a smile."its the kind of Barkery where there is also a house within the bakery i think it would be very fun"Maria said as she smiled at Jason."what about you?what do you do or want to do for a career?"Maria asked as she looked at Jason

"I own a small theater near the city center. I took it over after the last manager died of old age. I plan to keep it as long as possible, or at least until people become suspicious of how the passing years never effect my appearance. After the theater, I may look into moving secretly to Russia to find something to do there for another hundred years."

A theater huh?i remembered that my mother loved going to see theater shows my mother's friend worked at one so we would visit her before the show"Maria told Jason as she smiled a bit happily

"Really? Never knew there was another one in the city. Looks like I'll have to get out more often," Jason said with a soft laugh. Knowing Maria now, that would be an easy enough task. The girl was obviously excited about getting out of this place. He just hoped the young actors at his theater would be patient with him for a few weeks more as he got to know Maria.

Maria giggled and smiled a bit as she hoped she could remember the way to it since she had only been there when she was 3 and only a couple of times due to how busy her parents always were.

Jason glanced at his watch and muttered a curse under his breath. How had time flown by so quickly? "Seem's my stay is over," he said as he stood. He gave her a goodbye and was about to walk out when he turned back again. "Also, the change will become the most painful near dawn of the next morning. I'm sure you can manage it, and don't tell the nurses until it passes," he instructed. The nurses wouldn't know what to do with it anyway, he was sure. Plus the sight of her changing wasn't something even he would want to see willingly.

Maria nodded."thank you..for everything yo've done for me"Maria said as she smiled at Jason so this 'change' is going to be painful?i think i can bare with it since i've already delted with all kinds of pain "but what if one of the nurses comes in they usually bring in my medication at the time its one of my special medications as it has to be taken at that time...as weird as that sounds"Maria said with a laugh

Jason finally walked out and closed the door behind him. He stood there for a long moment until a nurse came to ask if he was all right. "I'm fine, thank you," he said with an assuring smile. He headed off down the hall and made his way out of the building.

Later that night Jason laid awake in his bed with a book in his hands. He could neither sleep nor focus on the book though. He couldn't stop worrying about Maria, no matter how much he tried to clear his thoughts. As a demon, he didn't need as much sleep, but he was more curious as to why he couldn't get the girl off his mind no matter what he did.

Maria layed in bed as she was i bit scared at how much pain she would be in when dawn had approuched "i hope...i can handle it...what if i can't what will happen?and what if one of the nurses comes in to bring my medication durring the change?"Maria couldn't stop thinking of the what if's as she was having a bit of a panic attack.Maria took a deep breath as she held onto the penguin plushie Jason had given to her."everything will be alright"Maria told herself

Finally, at nearly 2:00 in the morning, Jason grumbled and snapped his book shut. He got up out of bed and went to make some coffee. Caffeine was one of the few things humans made that could have any effect on demons, even though it was slight. He set up the old coffee machine and waited as it bubbled and hissed in its process. He stared off at the wall, letting himself get lost in his thoughts.

Maria fell asleep for a few hours as she then woke up at 2:00am as whenever she sleeps she has to have the curtains of her window along with having her window opened to fall asleep.She had woken up by feeling the wind.as she woke up and looked at the clock that is was only 2am she let out a sigh as she wished it was later so that the change would happen already as she was getting a bit anxious
