Anate Thalia was home from school, thank god. He was going back to his home, in the Garden District of New Orleans. The sprawling estate was considered high class, even in that neighborhood, encompassing a vast ten acres. They contained everything from the house, to the pool, even to the Thalia stables. All of it was possible thanks to Anate's mother, a high class lawyer.
Though he was looking forward to returning from his private school for the holidays, a part of Anate was clearly dreading it. His parents had been having problems, mostly due to the fact his father was a manipulitive mooch off his ma. Despite this, Anate was much closer to his father. Apparently, according to his father's letters, they had gone through with the divorce, and Ma had already found someone else to occupy her time. Dad no longer lived at home, it was occupied with Ma and her new boy toy. Anate wasn't worried about this. He fully intended to get his parents back together, it was just a matter of putting up with this new person for a bit.
The limousine passing through the brick and metal gates brought Anate from his thoughts. He tugged on his uniform, making sure the navy blue outfit was in order. He didn't want Ma nagging right now, he wanted a chance to evaluate the newcomer first. As the car stopped, Anate grabbed his laptop bag, a beige thing that bore the 'Umbrella Corporation's logo'. A guarded secret of Anate's was the late nights playing the resident evil games. He grinned, knowing the latest was nestled in his bags, and burst from the limo, not waiting for his door to be open. Anate turned to Butler, the, well, Butler of the Thalia family, and who'd been called Butler since Anate was young, and shook the older man's hand, thanking him quickly. The green orbs turned to the house once more, moving up the marble steps, and entering the house. He could hear voices from his Mother's palor, and moved to the doorway, ruthlessly trying to flatten the black locks perched on his head.
"Ma?" Anate's voice filled the hallway behind him, as well as the sitting room his mother was in.
