The raven haired girl smiled at the reaction of the other students in the class. To her it was fun to watch, prefering to be an observer than a reactor. After Kaz's announcement, Reika and Amaya brought their chairs around Amais' desk with bright grins on their faces. Another nervous laugh came from Amais as she bent to suffle through her bag to avoid the subject about dresses, which normally those smiles were the conversation starter to the subject, and brought out her music sheets to avoid the usual conversation.

"You're not done yet?" Amaya asked as she grabbed them, her blue orbs studying the black notes intensely.

Reika's violet hues joined to look over at the unfinished piece.

A small smile spread on Amai's lips. Mission accomplished.

Shaking her head she proceeded to answer Amaya before one girl shouted out a question,

"Kaz, what's your type?"

The trio turned their head back to look at the girl and Amais found the brush of dusty pink on her cheeks and her own friends held a pleased smile. She could only guess that the girl was dared and couldn't help but feel sorry for her. Looking over to find her piano peice held loosly in Amaya's hand, her slender fingers reached over to grab it. Amaya, paying no mind that she still held it and was naturally curious, whipped around to face the front of the room bringing the sheets along with her. Amais pouted and brought her hand back to set on her desk, to which Reika smiled. She would have to wait till the curious side of Amaya was quelled.

Mira-Charma13 04-26-2010 11:29 PM

Kasimir shifted, flipping his bangs slightly out of his face. He enjoyed the silence for a while until that girl blurted out the question. He grinned, stretching.

"I am a naturally loud person, so I seek more quiet people, to balance me out. I tend to go for quiet, self-confident, intelligent...all of those traits. I don't mind appearance so much as I mind personality. I go by only personality, but good looks are a nice plus. They don't really matter all that much. I've been single for quite a while, now, so I'm a little rusty on what my type is, other than that."

takara hikari 04-27-2010 01:29 AM

Amais tilted her head to the side a bit as she listened to the answer. Reika eyed her and swiftly took the music peice that Amaya was holding, knowing that the girl wasn't interested in the peice at the moment, and handed it to Amais. Smiling and thanking the other girl she took out a pencil and began to look over the melody in order to ignore Amaya's hand that shot up.

"You told us earlier that your ex tried to strangle you. Was your ex that crazy?" Amaya inquired excitedly.

Amais ended up poking her with the eraser, "Amaya!"

Reika only waved Amais off with a soft laugh and pointed back to the music. Amais obliged and felt the interest in the class peak as the silence returned. She almost missed the noise.

Mira-Charma13 04-27-2010 01:42 AM

Kasimir chuckled, propping his elbows up on his desk.

"Before I explain, let me just openly admit that I dabble on both sides of the fence and like both sexes equally." His statement was so blunt--it was almost unbelievable how easily he'd let it slip out. "My ex was male. Yes, he was really that crazy. He thought I was plotting against him with the government and all that...I tried to have him committed, but he's a brilliant actor, so he was able to get out of it."

He rolled his eyes. "I'm still afraid he'll come after me, but I feel a little safer now that we are not in the same country."

takara hikari 04-27-2010 02:16 AM

Amais and most of the class stared up at him, almost mystified. The girl liked the fact that he was blunt and far different from her, the girl that would rather beat around the bush and try to go full circle just to avoid being straight forward. Inwardly, she was glad that the boarding school didn't have any religious ties--by the fact that a student went on a 'purification' rampage once--because then, they probably wouldn't have Kaz as a teacher. He was different from all the stern teachers and it gave her room to breathe.

A student behind her then asked a basic question to veer away from the current subject, "Do you have any siblings?"

Holding in a sigh, Amais hung her head down to stare at the empty bar lines, her emerald eyes glaring at the paper as if to force it to create its own music on the page. Come to think of it, she never even titled the piece deeming it unimportant until her muse found her again.

Mira-Charma13 04-27-2010 02:22 AM

Kasimir seemed pleased by some of the shocked and impressed stares the class had given him, and then he shifted a bit in his chair, idly wondering when he could slip down to the cafeteria for some food.

"I have three. My siblings and I are quadruplets. I have a brother and two sisters, all of whom still live in Italy. I love my sisters, but my brother and I are not on the best of terms. My brother is thinking about moving here with me, so we can try to rekindle what was somehow lost between us, but I'm not sure it will be happening."

As he spoke, Kasimir was half-paying attention to a game of solitaire he had open on his laptop.

takara hikari 04-27-2010 02:56 AM

Once the uninteresting questions were being asked most of the students listened half-heartedly turning to each other and whispering inbetween. Amais paid no mind to the whispers and continued staring at her sheet. Amaya was still interested in the 'pry into the teacher's life' game and Reika was there to restrain the girl if need be. Discreetly licking her lips, Amais put the lead tip to the paper.

Discord.

She decided to do something different with the melody, instantly creating a darker accompaniment to the lighthearted dreamy tune. The girl wasn't sure as to why, but decided against erasing the addition. Oh well, there was always more editing. While thinking of getting help later on in the day by running some of the song through her boss, her mind flashed back to numbers and assignments. Amais could be good at everything else except math--that's how life decided to treat her.

Forcing her attention away from her sheet, she raised her hand slightly and asked only because of previous experiences, "Kaz, I was wondering...would be available after school for math help? Not today, of course, but on other days."

Mira-Charma13 04-27-2010 03:04 AM

Kasimir looked up from his game of solitaire. "Not today, no. But yes, on all other days. Mind you, some of those days I'll refuse to stay after school for, so I can help in person--which means the one seeking help can come to my home for tutoring--or by video conference."

A student interested in academic pursuits when he already said he wouldn't teach? What a strange girl...come to think of it, she was in his homeroom, as well.

takara hikari 04-27-2010 03:23 AM

The girl smiled nervously, "I understand. Sorry for the trouble."

Reika snickered at her and poked her in the forehead, "Oh, you would ask that question wouldn't you? Maybe we should start calling you a nerd, too."

"Oh, stop it! I have more of a social life than they do." Amais pouted and turned her attention back to her peice, finding herself stuck once more. All her inspiration just flew out the window unexpectedly. Darn it.

"Come to think of it..." Reika continued, "you really are kinda dense in the math department. I have no idea how you get through all that subdividing crap you keep talking about."

"That..." She stopped to wonder for a moment, "has nothing to do with this."

"Maybe you should go for that tutoring, too, so that lightbulb in the math house would turn on." The violet eyed girl teased.

"I'm not stupid." Amais shot back quietly.

"I know, I know. You know I'm teasing. I wouldn't call our cute star pianist stupid, you little genius."

The girl smiled gratefully, looking up at the clock finding that there was at least ten more minutes to spare, and began to pack her things.

Mira-Charma13 04-27-2010 03:30 AM

Kasimir looked like he was falling asleep at his desk. "Ugh. I can feel minutes of my life, wasted, ticking away," he complained, in a teenager-like manner, as he glowered at the clock mournfully. "When do the lunch periods start?"

He sounded impatient to eat. He hadn't eaten all day. He was starving, and rightly so--he needed food in his system to function correctly.

takara hikari 04-27-2010 03:50 AM

Amais answered with a smile, "In ten more minutes."

Amaya finally becoming uninterested in what was going on in the class turned to Amais, "So, are you going to play that unfinished piece?"

The girl shook her head, "Of course not. I'll probably just play the usual and the other piece I finished two weeks ago."

"Preforming at the usual time?"

"Yeah. At eight, like usual."

Amais was happy that she at least had a job to help pay for the cost of the school. Her grandparents offered to pay it all off, but she refused saying that she should at least work for it herself. She wasn't going to depend on people the rest of her life. Luckily, the job she applied for was one she enjoyed doing.

Her emerald eyes glanced up at the clock again, becoming hungry. If she told Reika the girl would just make fun of her for using too much brainpower.

Mira-Charma13 04-27-2010 04:04 AM

"Thanks." Kasimir peered over at their group, out of boredom.

"You guys into music? What instrument...s? I can play a few. Drums. Electric and acoustic guitar. Flute."

He seemed interested in music. Music was a big part of Kasimir's life and always would be. He played it or listened to it when he was bored. It was a fundamental part of him.

takara hikari 04-27-2010 04:24 AM

Excitement sparked in Amais, finally not a crazed band director that was fully immersed in just music. She didn't have many friends that played an instrument and the rest she knew were acquaintances.

Amaya pointed to Amais excitedly, "Oh! Her, her, her!"

The emerald eyed girl smiled, "I play the piano."

The piano would have to be the instrument she stuck with. It wasn't that she wasn't open for change, but because she had her own reasons behind playing it. Before her mother and father split, before her mother flew back to China and Amais staying with her father in Japan, her mother taught her how to play the piano, albiet a small amount. Amais was mostly self-taught before she thought of taking lessons. Since then, the piano was something she wasn't willing to give up, even to the disapproval of her step-mother.

Reika ended up chipping in, "Amais plays at the resturant closest to the school."

Mira-Charma13 04-27-2010 04:41 AM

Kasimir wrinkled his nose, pleased.

"You'd like my brother, Nero, then," he offered, smiling. "Nero is a professional pianist. He spends most of his time fiddling around with Chopin's works."

He shifted, content. "I would love to hear you play sometime."

takara hikari 04-27-2010 05:20 AM

"Hmm, I don't fiddle with much Chopin, I tend to compose my own." Amais smiled, "I'd like to meet him one day."

A professional pianist? It intrigued her. Also, it was something that she wanted to be one day. Perhaps.

Before Amais could add on Amaya was overly excited and cut in, "She's playing tonight at eight!"

Mira-Charma13 04-27-2010 05:30 AM

Kasimir raised an eyebrow, then nodded.

"Where? I will see if I can fit it into my schedule." He didn't seem to mind that other students were staring at him for agreeing to this. He thought of students as equals, unlike most teachers, and simply saw this as a friend attending a show of sorts that another friend was putting on.

takara hikari 04-27-2010 05:45 AM

Amais was genuinely suprised, but it didn't rid her of the excitement, "It's at the resturant 'Beautiful Heart'. When you head into town from the school it's a couple of blocks in a straight shot. Not too hard to find really."

The girl didn't find it odd that he would attend. She believed that teachers had personal lives as well, as her new teacher had proved. Also, she loved recieving comments and critiques at the end of her performances, so she didn't mind at all.

The bell rang, signaling the start of the lunch period.

Mira-Charma13 04-27-2010 05:49 AM

Kasimir nodded, smiling, and quickly glanced over his schedule as the bell rang. He jumped up, eager to eat--he didn't have a class this period. He'd decided he would eat in the cafeteria. He knew there was a table for teachers, but they rarely ate there, if ever. So he would probably be left sitting alone.

takara hikari 04-27-2010 11:55 PM

When the bell rang and Amais was in the middle of getting out of her seat, Amaya took her turn of dragging the girl out of the classroom. Only with a small squeak Amais allowed her friend to hurry along to the lunch room and into the line. Reika wasn't in a rush as she was able to keep up with them with her long strides and secured them their usual table by the window.

Amaya was always her normal self; chatting away happily about her day and what she thought about the new teacher. Amais would always smile and listen as she reached over to grab a fruit salad with her friend following afterwards by grabbing the usual salad.

"So, what do you think?" Amaya asked hurriedly.

"Of what?" Amais responded as they took their seats.

"Kaz!"

"Oh," She smiled, "I think he's cool. Better than our ruler smacking teachers."

Her emerald orbs occasionally took glances outside the window as she ate.

Mira-Charma13 04-28-2010 12:00 AM

Kasimir followed a slow-moving throng of students towards the cafeteria, settling into line, a bit paranoid, behind another teacher. He completely skipped over a complete meal, just grabbing three small cups of diced peaches, two cookies, and an ice cream. The teacher in front of him stared at him as she checked out her meal, and he stared back, attempting to hold in laughter at how bewildered the woman looked.

Once he paid for his meal, Kasimir strode out into the cafeteria, locating the teachers' table near the exit, and sat down, alone. There were a few other teachers that eyed the table, like they wanted to sit there, but decided on going to eat in their teachers' lounges instead...they didn't seem to like him all that much.

Kasimir didn't seem to care. He munched on his peaches, carefree.

takara hikari 04-28-2010 01:19 AM

Looking out the window, Amais couldn't help but wonder what it was like back at home. She wondered how was everyone doing, what they were doing now, and if they thought of her every now and then. Was there someone that replaced her at her job at home, also sitting at the piano she always played at after school? Before she could even lose herself in her reverie, Reika poked her in the forehead.

"Don't go leaving us now, ya' hear?"

She smiled and nodded, continuing to eat on her fruit. It was just a mere case of homesickness, but Reika was always there to snap her out of it. In her mind, Amais agreed with what Reika had told her a year ago when she transferred over. Reika told her that she tended to revert to her 'loner state' and it sickened her because she couldn't help but feel sorry for her. Her emerald eyes glanced over at her violet eyed friend and she smiled. Come to think of it, Reika slowly left behind her gang days. Amais did have a small change during her year at the school; Amaya mentioning that she became more open than she was.

Mira-Charma13 04-28-2010 01:25 AM

Kasimir didn't miss home. Sure, he missed his siblings...but he didn't particularly miss Italy. This place was just as acceptable...it was so strange. He felt at home here already, and he just couldn't pinpoint exactly why...

He started on his ice cream, glancing around. He noticed the pianist girl sitting by the window with her friends, but didn't recognize many other faces. He was terrible with both names and faces.

takara hikari 04-28-2010 01:40 AM

"I wanna be a dancer!" Amaya blurted out suddenly.

With wide eyes Amais and Reika stared at her suprised evident on their faces. Maybe they were both being quiet for too long. Amais looked around frantically, trying to find whatever caused the girl to snap.

"Then Amais can be the one playing the piano when I dance!" She jumped up and brought Amais in a tight hold. "Once we graduate we'll never see each other again!"

"Amaya!" Reika snapped and shot up to loosen the girl's hold, "You're gonna kill her by holding onto her so tight!"

"No! You just want her for yourself!"

As both of them began a little tug-o-war no one paid any attention to them. Amais looked over across the room to see her teacher and her only reaction was to smile and wave.

Mira-Charma13 04-28-2010 01:47 AM

Kasimir smiled, as well, and waved. He idly wondered if the girl would be all right, being pulled and jerked around like that. But, she seemed all right, so he wasn't going to interfere. He continued to eat his strange lunch, still earning a few stares from various students.

takara hikari 04-28-2010 02:14 AM

Amais was used to the pulling and jerking from her friends. Reika was actually able to get Amais out of Amaya's hold once the girl snapped back into her senses. Sighing, Amais returned to eating while Amaya kept apologizing to Reika who was glaring at her and decided to sit between them. The pianist turned her head to the large school clock that could be seen outside of the window, finding that there was at least twenty more minutes of lunch left.

Her thoughts wandered to her lost class, thinking that her director would be searching around for her. There was nothing else that the girl could do except hide in the cafeteria.

"Look who came in," Reika pointed her head towards the door, "short and tubby came in. He looks pretty pissed, Amais."

"Huh?" Amais looked over at the door, finding that it was the band teacher she was just thinking about.

Before she could look away to use Reika as a shield, the short man's eyes came in contact with hers and he walked quickly over to the table, "Nagamiya!"

She stood slowly and a nervous smile spread on her lips, "G-good afternoon, sir."

Most of the students close to the window began to watch, knowing that when the band director threw a tantrum, it was a fun thing to watch at the other person's expense.

"GOOD?! Good grief, Nagamiya! I lost my pianists because of scheduling! How is this 'GOOD'?!"

"Sir-"

"You should change your classes around. Why didn't you bring it up?!"

"But, I-" Amais looked around at her friends with her eyes, pleading for help.

"Nagamiya! Let's go!"

"Sir, I'm sorry, but-"

He wouldn't listen and was about ready to grab the girl and drag her to the office.
