[[Sorry it took me so long. My dad made me get out of the house.]]
---
Amais couldn’t help but sigh when a few giggling girls ran past her to school. She was acquainted with them, as they sat a few rows ahead of her in class and they would provide the latest scoop in the drama in the school. Not that she cared; it was interesting to listen to what was taking place. Her lips were pressed together in a fine line when she began to think why they were so giddy today. Then again, when were they not?
Shaking her head to stop wondering about it, she quickened her pace so that she could beat one of her friends, a co-worker at the restaurant she performed at, to school. Also, to avoid getting poked in the side and to hide her ticklish spot from her other friends that loved to smother her with affection. Well, most of the time. Amais smiled as she made it through the front doors, the school heater welcoming her in its warmth from the cold spring morning. Smoothing out her mid-length raven hair and uniform jacket she made her way to her first class upstairs.
Walking into the room, the giggles of the same girls who ran past her rang through the room. The normal groups of people that arrived to class early were present and the fact that the girls were there surprised her. Normally, they would stride into the classroom a minute before the bell and laugh obnoxiously. Emerald eyes gave them a quick glance as she made it to her seat by the window, meeting up with her other two friends.
“Good morning.” They greeted her.
“Good morning.” Amais replied then after setting her things down she asked, “Why are they so…giggly? Moreso than usual?”
“You forgot?!” Amaya exclaimed, earning a few looks from others.
Amais blinked a couple of times and looked up to Reika who only sighed, “Of course she forgot.”
Laughing, Amaya poked the raven haired girl’s nose, the brunette receiving a glare. “Well, the new teacher comes today!”
“Oh!” Amais’ eyes widened in realization.
That was right. Their other teacher was fired a few days ago for sexually abusing a girl from another class. Before Amais could say anything else to her friends, the bell rang and the two rushed off to sit in their own seats watching as the rest of the class poured in.
Everyone watched the door in anticipation.

The stares...
Kasimir was used to the stares, of course. But not from underaged...children. Students, and teachers as well, stared at him as he strolled down the hallway, like he'd suddenly grown an extra head. He wasn't following the teachers' dress code. He wasn't even following the school rules about the length of males' hair.
The stares, from both sexes no less, continued as he scoured the labyrinth of hallways, trying to find the proper room before the bell rang. He scowled, irritated. Why did schools have to be built like mazes? Why couldn't their designs just be simple? Sciences in this hallway...languages in this hallway...history in this hallway...instead, it was all over the place. Even the library seemed to have uprooted and walked away!
Thankfully, he did manage to find the proper room...but only after the bell had rung. He paused before the door, flipping out his hair and hoping his students would behave. Then, he walked in.
Of course, the first noticeable things about Kasimir were his shock of long, smooth white hair and his piercing reddish eyes. He was tall and pale, with some degree of muscle. He had a carefree, apathetic look on his face. Homeroom lasted for about fifteen minutes, and all it was was the announcements for the day ringing out over the intercom. He was accustomed to students not caring about them, however. He set his old black messenger bag, with his supplies for the day in it, next to his desk and sat down in the chair, not bothering to introduce himself as the announcements for the day started to drone out of the intercom.
He might answer questions if students asked, but he didn't want to waste his time introducing himself...

Everyone was speechless, other than for the terribly held in squeal on the other side of the room. This silence had to be the very first time Amais’ class had ever been this silent. Normally the girls would still be gossiping and the guys would try to flirt with most of the girls or act ‘cool’. She couldn’t blame her class for the silence, though. To be honest, she was speechless, staring at the new teacher. From behind one of the self-titled ‘Nerds’ mentioned-under his breath-that their teacher wasn’t even following the school rules.
Not that the majority of the class cared.
When the announcements began, the class slowly started to go back to their usual routine-talking during the announcements. There were a few important announcements which the volume died down for, but the majority of the fifteen minutes was filled with noise. Letting out a deep sigh she rested her cheek in her palm and stared out the window, emerald eyes meeting the vast grounds of the boarding school. Once the announcements came to an end, the class immediately turned back to their teacher, waiting for him to introduce himself.
One of the gossiping girls raised her hand quickly, “Teacher! Could you please introduce yourself to us?”
Amais turned her head back to the front of the room, wondering what the outcome would be. Would the class find him to be a likeable teacher or become another they dreaded?

Kasimir glanced at the class, bored already. It seemed they were going to behave. But that girl was quite loud...he wasn't fond of loud people, in general. He tended to be loud only when he was clubbing, or having a good time with friends.
"Kasimir Vittorio. Don't call me Mr. Vittorio, Mr. Kasimir, Mr. V--Mister anything! Just call me Kaz," he entreated, yawning a bit. He had a slight Italian accent. "I'm twenty. I'm not a morning person. I used to live in Italy. And I'll answer any other questions."

Smiling, Amais held in a giggle. She wasn't sure why she was so amused. Perhaps, this class was going to be better than most. At least, start the days off correctly, somehow.
Another student beside her raised his hand and asked, "Why move all the way here?"

Kasimir sat up a bit more, flipping his bangs out of his face slightly, only to have them fall back exactly where they had been before. He stared at them, unamused, for a moment before turning his eyes on the boy.
"I wanted to get away from home. I was having some drama back there." His eyelids drooped. "With a violent, near-homicidal ex who wanted to strangle me in my sleep. I also thought it would be a nice change of pace. Plus, Italian and English are the only languages I know. I had to pick an English-speaking country."

One of the group girls gasped at the information. Amais was suprised at how easily he shared it. She looked away at the window, feeling slightly uncomfortable. She forced herself to push it back, just like the butterflies that fluttered in her stomach before she performed. Looking around the girl found that no classmate was interested in asking anything further. Then again, she forgot that at least half of the class cared about their academics.
The raven haired girl wouldn't count herself out of that group. Amais wasn't sent overseas just for plain fun.

Kasimir was amused by the silence--a wry smirk curled his features. "Lost interest, eh?" he quipped, arching a snow white eyebrow. "It is not a big deal that I have someone in Italy who wants to spill my guts. It is quite amusing, in all honesty. It gave me an excuse to install cameras up around the perimeter of my home..."
He stretched, sitting in his chair in a very lax position. "What is the purpose of this 'homeroom?'" he asked, puzzled. "Why don't they just let you go to class and announce things as the day goes on? Sometimes administration needs a good kick in the proverbial teeth..." His voice sounded playful. It seemed he was a very mischievous man, who liked to misbehave.

The bell for the first class was going to ring in a couple of minutes. Amais' friends looked back at her from different sides of the room, a pleased countanance on their features. She only smiled back at them, nervously. They were glad that there was a teacher who didn't agree with what the school did. They just took the money from the students, they didn't care how much time they wasted in the morning.
One of the shy kids raised his hand, "Um, what are you teaching here? Are you taking over psychology or filling in the math position we've been missing for a year?"
Ah, right. The math class. Since there was only one teacher, they had what would have been two classes shoved into one in the lecture hall.

"I'm teaching math. Mind you, I hate the subject," Kasimir amended, stretching. "Probably as much as most of you do. But I can teach it, no problem. I taught history back home, so I'm rusty, but oh well. Some of your schedules have been shifted a bit, for the math period. That's right--I was supposed to hand those out."
He stood up, grabbing the tiny pile of papers on his desk, and, the seating chart in hand, he passed them out to a few students. Amais was one of them.

A few chuckles spread around the room. So, a math teacher? Amais had been struggling in math and it wasn't her strong point, she was...just ok with the subject. She smiled when she recieved her schedule.
"Thank you!"
Her emerald eyes scanned the sheet and a frown replaced the smile. Her music class was removed because mostly everything switched around, her chemistry class taking the block. The director would have a fit once he found out; he needed her as a pianist. She was going to have to deal with the small man yelling and running around in a panic.
Oh well. That's why she asked for a job outside of school in a resturant where she could play.

Kasimir noticed the frown--it was one of the few in the room. "Had a class removed? I can get it replaced, if you'd like," he offered, kindly. He gave the same offer to another frowning student in the room, to the student's delight.
It seemed Kasimir was fond of being...informal...with his students. Almost as if he thought of them more as equals, not as students. Obviously, this was not the kind of teacher that administration approved of.

Amais looked up and smiled, "Thank you, but please don't worry about it. I can probably work something out with the director, he has been wanting to meet with me after school because so much goes on in the class. I really appreciate the offer!" The girl could live without the music class, there was too much drama that went around in the flute section. She wouldn't admit it out loud, since the pack would turn on her in an instant.
Still, it was a relief that Kasimir wasn't like the rest of the teaching staff. The majority of the teachers loved their rules and stood by them because of a few incidents in the past. It made her...happy.

Kasimir plopped back down in his chair. "No problem. Should you change your mind, refer to me and I"ll change things around for you," he offered, stretching. Then, he addressed the class. "If your room is far away, feel free to leave early. But if anyone asks, I didn't let you out early. Understood?"
When most of the class agreed, cheerily, he nodded to himself and dug in his messenger bag for his laptop. He absolutely despised school internet services because of their 'safety firewalls.' So, he brought his own computer and his own internet service with him while he was teaching...so he could play games while the students worked.

Her friends waited for her by the door, planning to walk with each other before splitting up. Amais smiled at Kasimir and waved,
"I'll see you for math!"
Once out of the door and midway through the hallway, the giddy brunette turned her head towards Amais and asked, "So, what do you think?"
"I like him! Better than all of the teachers here." She replied, honestly.
Reika scoffed, "Amaya probably has a crush on our new teacher."
"Pfft! Do not! Although, he does have the looks."
Reika only shook her head, "Anyway, I have Schmitz next."
Amais decided not to take part in the conversation and looked at her schedule instead. Chemistry. That was right. Chem-is-try. Perferably to others it was Chem-is-DIE at least with Schmitz.
Raising her hand slightly, with eyes still glued on the paper, signaling to Reika that she also had the class this period to which the girl grabbed her and pulled her in the other direction. Of course, with a few protests of it not being fair coming from Amaya, the two made it to their class on time. Even the teacher was complaining about having to adjust the schedules and assignments of lab teams. Reika laughed and whispered to Amais of how stupid it all was, recieving a small smile in response.
Taking out her notebook and sitting beside Reika-who was 'conveniently' offered the seat from a meek girl-she took notes on the lecture about the kinetics of a reaction. Emerald eyes glanced up at the clock every now and then when she tucked a few stray locks of black hair behind her ear. Next class would be english literature with Sheaffer then after that would be math...

Kasimir waved the girl off, content, as the class left. His new class started to file in. Once they all filed in and sat down--most were staring at him like he was an alien--he introduced himself to them, just as he had to his homeroom class, and told them today was a free period. He didn't feel like teaching all that much on his first day.
He answered their questions--surprisingly, most were about his love life and sexuality--with amusement. Yes, this was much better than a normal class period...just sitting here and talking with the students.

The bell rang and Reika pulled Amais out of the room once the lab handouts made its way into every student's hands. It didn't require much effort for Reika to pull Amais along, since Amais was only slightly taller one in their group; Amaya standing at 5'3. Besides, Reika also had the tough girl personality that equaled out the fact Amais was a pushover.
It wasn't her fault for being nice. Amais never looked at it that way until her friend told her when they first met, declaring that it was her complete idiocy that allowed her to be bullied and used. More of being used than bullied, Amais had her thoughts that Reika and Amaya had something to do with it.
Before she knew it, they had successfully made it into her english class. Pushed into her seat, Reika patted her head and left with a warning of 'Be careful, people still bite'. Amais couldn't help but gape. Her eyes went up to the clock again. One more hour till math and a total of five remaining until the day was over.

((I don't mind. I can add in some of my own, then, in time. It works 'cause he has three siblings. ^^))
Kasimir's next class, an honors class, insisted on going over the homework their old teacher had assigned, to his dismay. He really hadn't wanted to teach, but they looked downtrodden when he refused, so he sucked it up and dug around for his teacher's copy of the book. He spent a good amount of time stalling, whining that he didn't know the page number or the problems, but when he finally got rolling, he was able to go over the designated problems easily.
He spent the rest of the period going over the problems until the bell rang.

Amais packed her things after the bell rang. She figured that since the teacher was in a bad mood, he would force a literary terms test on them. Honestly, who's going to wander around the city, eavesdrop or have a conversation of their own and go: You/I just used an idiom!
Hopefully, no one would be in the right mind to do that. At least not in public...without a like community.
A co-worked came up behind her to tap her shoulder. Turning, she smiled, "Hello, Matt."
"Yo." He replied, "Are you performing tonight?"
"I believe that it is Wednesday, so, yes."
"Awesome. Mom is excited, she says she has another dress for you that she made." Someone called his name from outside the door, where Amais also saw Reika and Amaya waiting. "Well, anyway, see you later."
Taking her bag, a nervous laugh slipped through her lips when she began walking to math. Amaya and Reika understood why, although their reactions were different: Amaya was enthusiastic and excited while Reika was more sympathetic since she disliked that she had to wear a skirt for the uniform anyway. Then again, neither of the two ever saw Amaya unenthusiastic about...anything.
Amais took that thought back as they entered the math class and went to take a seat. Amaya, Reika, and herself normally dreaded math.

Kasimir had gotten bored and was playing through random music on his playlist, via his laptop. At the moment, the volume was down, but a lovely rock song was on. The next moment, some fast-paced techno was on. Then some pop. It seemed Kasimir had a varied taste in music.
Some students stared at him as he did this, like he was insane. As soon as the bell rang, Kasimir paused his music and stood up. "Welcome to math class!" he greeted, sarcastically, waving his hands around. "I know most of you probably hate this class. To be frank, I can't stand math either. It's my first day of teaching today--call me Kaz. And not Mr. Kaz, please. Just Kaz. I've decided not to teach on my first day, so the time is yours. If you want to ask questions about me, go ahead. I'll answer most of them."
With that, he sat back down and started messing around with his laptop once again. The computer the school provided him with was sitting untouched nearby.
