Wolf, though the wolves are a tad different in this world.

Kaya had violet eyes, however, and generally keeps her tail curled around her waist, even when working on her new plot of land. She commonly wear hats, keeping the large white ears hidden. She knows her kind is hated, and seeks to simply blend in with the humans, carving her own living...

Marcus Rivera sat under his favorite tree and read his favorite book on his favorite kind of day. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and not a single raindrop was in sight. It was usually pretty bad when it came to storms and rain and all where he lived, not many people had the electricity to heat their homes when it was humid from it either, but everyone got along just fine, and Marcus was content. He closed his book and folded it so it would fit in his pocket, then hooked his sword back over his shoulder. He sighed as a strong wind blew and thought dreadfully, another storm... Halfheartedly, he pulled his face back into his usual warm smile and began the walk back to the small ghetto he called his city.

There were trees all around him, and no matter how many times they were knocked down by lightning or rain, they just kept growing, Marcus loved them. He stopped at one tree, only a few more yards away from the first building of the city and just breathed. He shook his head and walked to the trunk, then brought his body up and rested on the highest branch he could.

Kaya was currently pulling weeds. She finally got up enough money from her short job in the bookstore to buy a little plot of land. So far, she had a tiny garden, way too many trees, and a cow. There was no furniture in the little rickety shack she called a home, but Kaya was happy. The white haired female smiled, looking past the rim of her large hat to peer at the sun.

The wolves were hunted-Kaya had been lucky in hiding the traits that gave away what she was. She'd adapted, instead of running and hiding, she'd walked right into the humans, become one of them. Now, this tiny piece of land was all hers, and she could be herself. For the first time in a long while, the female took the hat off, laying it next to herself. The large white ears wiggled on her head, and the wolf sighed, enjoying the feeling the wind gave her, even if it did smell like it would storm later. She hadn't bothered glancing around, not thinking someone would come on her new plot and see her.

Marcus being at the top of the tree, couldnt help but look around at his small city. Even if it was a bit on the rural side, he found peace in it. He could see a lot from where he was perched. A few long rows of corn to his left, a large bundle of breaking building in the center, and a small group of spread out cottages and shacks to the right. He checked the sky again and it seemed greyer than before. To be on the safe side, he climbed down and walked he short distance back into the small city. He walked into the "post office" first and knocked at the gate. "Gill! You in there!?" He called. When the blonde-haired ten year old stumbled out of the building he ran to Marcus and shoved a group of papers into his hand. "Mr. Marcus! The storms a'comin! Could you deliver these for me?" Marcus took the papers and looked at the boy. "Gill..." he started. "But Mr. Marcus! My mother will have my head if they arent delivered today and the storms comin so fast, you could deliver them faster than I could!" He pouted. Marcus shoved the papers into his pocket and shoved the boy towards the door. "Just stay inside, Gill, I'll be back later." He grunted, and began running. The first stop was to a small plot of land in the right hand side of the city. He ran faster as the wind picked up.

Kaya had stood, her hat still in her hands. She shook her head, smiling broadly and enjoying the increasing wind in the fur. After a moment of hesitation, she jiggled a bit, working her tail out of the baggy pants she wore. The large white fluff wagged happily, Kaya giving a tiny sigh. She'd wanted to do this for so long....

Marcus weaved through the small shacks and people who were preparing their homes and getting inside. He found the house that the paper was marked for and slid the paper into the small mailbox out front. When he turned onto his heel to go to the next house, he stopped in his tracks. He could smell wolf. and close. He went back to the house and took out the paper so he had a reason to go to the door in case there were no wolves around. He made it to the small front door and knocked five times.

Kaya was enjoying the time, but sounds wafted to her uncovered ears-tapping! Someone was here! She hastily stuffed her tail down, and tugged her hat on, before grabbing the basket of weeds. She made her was back to the house, sniffing delicately. There was a boy in her doorway.

She dumped the items in the basket into the tiny garbage heap on the side of the house, keeping her violet eyes trained on the boy. "Hullo...Can I help you, Mister...?"

Marcus smiled like a perfect gentleman when a pretty woman came to the door. "Yes, ma'am. I have a delivery for you." He said, holding out the two papers to her. As the wind picked up, he caught the smell of wolf even more. "Do you have any company here, if you mind me asking?"

Kaya reached to the papers, answering the human absent-mindly, "No, I'm afraid not...why do you ask? Are you looking for someone?" Her eyes ran over the papers idly, not looking at the male as Kaya spoke.

Marcus became confused when the woman said that she had no company at the moment and just had to get inside to get another good sniff. He looked to the sky and frowned. "Uhm, ma'am, if you don't mind, could I come in? The storm is close and its going to get real dangerous real soon."

Kaya finally removed her gaze, peering upwards. "Uh...um...y-yes...of course, please, go on in. I'll make some tea..." She ushered the boy inside, bustling around the tiny place and lighting a tiny fire, setting a blackened tea kettle in it. "Thank you for come out here to bring me these, even if it was about to rain...What did you say your name way?'

Marcus was so busy peering around the small shack that he didnt hear the first half of what she said. He needed to find the wolf as soon as possible. It was about to storm and it was dangerous anyways. He looked back at her catching only when she asked his name and smiled his fake gentlemanny smile, "Marcus. My name is Marcus, Miss...And your name is Kaya, am I correct? I'm sorry but I couldn't help but peer at the to and from adresses on the mail." He said sheepishly.

The female paused, turning back to him and offering a smile. His strange actions puzzled her. Though, she had to admit, she didn't spend a lot of time with humans. Nervously, she began twisting her hands, her ears shifting underneath the hat. "Would you like something else, Mr. Marcus? You...seem to be looking for something...."

Marcus looked at her sideways, having already sniffed the whole house down from where he sat. It reeked of werewolf, but he wasn't going to say anything just yet. He smiled at her when she asked if he was looking for anything and shook his head. "No, nothing peculiar...Your home is lovely by the way." He said politely.

Kaya shifted uncomfortably, finally nodding to him. "Thank you...I just got it. I'm afraid there isn't much. But it's mine." She beemed, touching a piece of the rotting wood gently. Hers... After a moment, she looked back to the male, lifting the tea kettle as it whistled. "So, Mr. Marcus. I don't believe I've seen you much. Where do you work?"

Marcus caught on her love for the small home and admired her for it. His house was but a small shack, and Marcus didnt take care of it at all. He nodded when she asked where he worked and replied simply and shortly. "I am a hunter." he said. Of course he wouldnt tell her what kind of hunter he was, so he kept himself a bit mysterious.

Kaya faltered for a moment, fear ghosting over her face. She'd heard of humans who hunted the werewolves. Was that the kind of hunter he was? Her tounge darted out, licking her suddenly dry lips. "W-what kind of hunter are you, Marcus? ...I'd love to buy some meat from you in the future..."

Marcus laughed at her proposition. "oh, miss Kaya" he chuckled. "you wouldn't like the kind of meat that i hunt." He saw her now pale face and looked at her with concern. "Are you alright miss Kaya? You don't look too well."

Kaya shook her head, her hand moving to her stomach. Oh, oh! They were real! And one was in her house! When she'd worked so hard! "I...I'm fine..." Kaya replied after a few moments, continuing to pour the tea, "Well, what do you hunt then?"

Marcus still felt that she wasn't okay, and when she asked what he hunted, he grew concerned. It was times like this when he was told to lie. "Miss Kaya, i hunt...bears...yes. Wild bears out in the mountains. I seldom stay in the city, I mostly come here for reports on...bears...in certain areas, then I come to those areas and exterminate them." He said. "Why the interest?" he asked.

Kaya calmed down visably, and shook her head. "N-nothing. I was just curious is all..." She held up the tiny tea cup, handing it out to Marcus. "Here you go. If the storm doesn't let up anytime soon, I'll give you the bed to sleep..." The whole time, Kaya kept her violet eyes averted from Marcus, afraid. Even if he hunted bears, would he come after her, if he knew? She stood, moving to the window and peeking out.

Marcus nodded and took the cup of tea, sipping at it slowly. She was acting very peculiar, and her house reeked of wolves, but he was at a brick wall, going nowhere. "Miss Kaya, have you ever heard stories about the wolves?" He asked. "Not the normal ones, the half human ones...?"

Her own tea cup fell from her fingers, spilling the hot fluid over her chest. She coughed and sputtered, shaking her head. "N-no. That sounds ridiculous. I've never heard of them." Kaya lied, avoiding the males gaze as she wiped at her shirt with a towel.

Marcus jumped out of where he sat and helped her. He took the empty teacup from her quiverring hands. "miss kaya, i think it would be wise to get to bed...soon" he said as he heard a thundering boom shake the house. He grabbed onto her as the small house continued to shake and looked down at her with sorry eyes. "this house really isnt the best place to be living in when storms hit this part of town." he said when the shaking stopped. When he noticed that he was still holding onto her, he flinched away from her with a red face. "oh. Sorry."
