For Louis and SMG only. Name: Daniel Lillevold Age: 23 Race: Human Bio: Daniel was raised in a strictly Christian home, and is the youngest of 3 boys. On his 16th birthday his father beat him and kicked him out after Daniel announced he was gay. He wandered on the streets for a couple months before a wealthy young prodigy, Nick Harson, took him in on the condition that Daniel would only serve as his sex partner. From the help of Nick's payments, Daniel eventually moved out into his own apartment and managed to get a job as a file clerk for a major paper company. http://www.menewsha.com/forum/member...cture38766.jpg ------------- Daniel stepped out of the elevator and hurried quickly out the front doors of the lobby, glad that work was over and it was the weekend. The week had been long and miserable at the office especially with his cubicle neighbor George always making snide remarks about him to everyone else. He was far since fed up with it, but he couldn't do much about it. George was the boss' favorite after all. He got out to his car and paused as he noticed a piece of paper sticking out from under the windshield wiper. Great, just what he needed right now, a stupid parking ticket. He looked around for the cop that might have put it there, but there was none. He sighed and stuffed the paper in his pocket before going around to unlock the driver side door. |
I am the great Rikter Evans.
I’ve seen the destruction of the US for 20 years. I don’t get on by my good looks alone. I am also the 'angel' for Clockwork Carnivale. I wasn’t always a Carnie. I was one of those 'missing' people when Clockwork moved out. I had taken my little sister to the fair and lost her. She had wound up with a group of friends and they were leaving. I wanted to stay though, a girl from my neighborhood was there, she was my heart's desire. As the night grew on I lost her in the crowd, never to see her again. The carnivale was closing and I was leaving a tent, but they didn't want me to go for some reason. I was surrounded and the next thing I knew I woke up with mechanical wings coming out of my back. Ever sense then I had been like a lost child, following around the only people I fit in with and doing what I was told. They say you never judge a book by its cover. If you read this book its pages would tell you of a male who is realtively quiet. I never asked for what happened to me, but after it all I just sort of listen. I became like a broken horse in a sense. I do as I'm told, almost as if I were a robot or something. Yet beyond all that I'm not a mean guy, but if Arrow were to know I would be in trouble. I do not enjoy causing people pain but I have a high sense of respect and loyalty, almost to a fault just like a soldier. ---------- Rikter had finally done it, he had escaped that crazed man Arrow and was finally on his own. Actually what had happened was a war, between his carnivale and their rival carnivale. He wasn't sure what had happened but all he knew was that when he finally came to he was alone, his wings tattered and broken, though still in tact for the most part. He picked his half naked body up, even his dark jeans had seen better days, and ran. He wasn't sure how long or how far he had ran until he got to civilization. A place that had been untouched by the carnivale's wrath. It was a relief to be rid of there, but the days of running and the condition of himself and the metal wings cause him great agony. Stumbling out into the streets people all around him reacted, many, if not all of them scared of the winged male. "No," he said, his voice weak. "Please, you gotta help me, please," but the exhaustion had finally gotten to him as his body gave out on the side walk near all the tall buildings, fancy cars, and now paniced people. |
Daniel froze as he saw a strange young man stumbling through the crowds that made wide circles around him. He looked beat up and miserable, and had bloodied somethings sticking out of his back. He really wasn't sure what they were. He left his car at once and rushed over to kneel next to the man. He shoved and pushed to roll the man onto his back to get a better look at the others face. "Hey, you, can you hear me?" Daniel said loud and slow.
|
Rikter winced as he felt what would normally have been the most beautiful metalic wings bend under the weight of his body. Once he regained himself he was going to have to fix them. A voice broke him out of his tizzy. It wasn't a paniced voice like all the rest though; this one sounded calme an collected.
The male opened his dialated eyes, they were changing color rapidly, almost as if they didn't know which one to stay. He wasn't able to make out who it was but the hair color held the shadows from the sun above reminded him of Arrow. "S-sir?" He stuttered, his voice almost paniced. He had gotten away from him, he knew he had, but then how was he seeing him now? Rikter made no attempt to move away from this man for if he truly was Arrow then there would have been dire consequences and on the other hand he didn't have the energy or strength to do so. |
Daniel smiled in relief. At least he was still concious, but he sounded dazed and confused. He must have had an accident and hit his head, or something of the like. Daniel scooted his arms under the other to lift him half way off the ground, propping him up with one knee. He looked around to the people passing and called out for someone to dial 911. Not a great time for his phone to be dead, but he couldn't help that at the moment. He looked down at the man again and reached around to the others back to touch one of the bloodied things. They were made of metal. That was a tad freakish. Hopefully the man could get it fixed in the hospital.
|
Rikter's back was free of his own body weight and when the male he had accused of being Arrow lightly touched one of the metal pertrusions he relaxed slightly. He wasn't Arrow. If he had been Arrow then he would not have been happy to see his hard work in such disoray. When the man had called out for someone to call 911 this alerted the short haired male. "No," he exclaimed as he sat up the rest of the way in a quick movement.
His wings shot out back, stretching out causing the loose pieces to jingle or scrape against one another. They still worked though. They should have anyway, they were attached to him. His eyes finally settled on a dark blue as he looked at the man that was helping him. He was no Arrow, he seemed kind and well kept. "No," he repeated once again. "I do not need them to come." His voice was soft making the sudden outburst seem quite odd and out of character. "They cannot help me." They wouldn't have been able to fix his wings, Rikter would have to do that one his own. There was that and knowing the media they would put him on the news and then Arrow would find him. He didn't want that. |
{fixed my little mishap. i keep picturing feathers and stuff when I think of wings. >.<}
Daniel placed a hand over the others chest to keep him still. "Whoa, calm down. The rods in your back look painful. Are you sure you don't need help?" Of course he would respect this man's decision, but the metal stuck in his back didn't look good at all. But wait...what was that? Did those rods move on their own? Daniel shook his head and looked again. Little bits of what seemed like thin chains swung gently from the rods. He looked back down at the mans face. "What's your name?" he asked. |
((That's ok XP They're just weird because of the circus he worked at))
"Rikter, Rikter Adams," the angel said as he sat up straight regardless of the other male's hand on his chest. His eyes then looked toward his wings, they were broken and because of that it was slightly painful, but no other reason. "And these do not hurt," he said nodding towards them, each segment started whirling and moving as the feather-like pieces of metal began moving. Slowly, one by one the pieces began moving, the feather-like pieces adjusting so that the dented or broken one fell free and to the ground, while the whole ones rearranged themselves so that sat evenly once again. The wings still looked pretty bad given they were still covered in blood and dirty, but other than that they weren't all that bad. "I'm stronger than many believe," he said, his voice soft and calm. |
Daniel leaned back from the strange sight, his eyes going wide. Several other passerby stopped as well with similiar expressions. He stood up immediately and backed away a step, not exactly sure of what to do. "Okay, you need to stop doing...whatever you're doing. You drawing a lot of attention," he warned Rikter as he looked around at the gathering crowd.
|
Rikter couldn't help but chuckle at his reaction before he too stood, though it was a shaky movement. "I'm supposed to attract attention," he said, the strain of the movement wavering his voice as he finally got to his feet. "I'm a circus freak, or at least an ex one." His lips pursed slightly to one side as he stretched his wings out as far as they could go. If his arms were out then they would have reached his mid forearm, but no longer. He looked at them for a moment as if he were checking to see what damage had been done and what work needed to be done to them.
He was looking to the ground when they folded back up, only wavering slightly as if they were actually real feathered wings. "Thank you," he finally said, his eyes locking onto the now seemingly frightened male. "Though it may not have been much, you coming up has helped me and I wish to repay that." Using his arm he made a low sweep before bowing and taking a knee before the male, the aquarmarine gem in the back of his neck glistening in the light, reflecting the cracks that were in it. |
Daniel stared at the man kneeled before him, his eyes drawn at once to the stone in the back of Rikter's neck. He glanced around nervously. He had never been bowed to before and it was a little too weird. He reached down to poke Rikter's head. "Don't do that!" he whispered. A few girls passing by giggled and pointed. "Aww, that's so sweet! He's proposing right in the middle of the street," one girl said to another. Daniel blushed and glared after them. Okay, so the guy was goodlooking, he'd admit that. But he didn't want any more assumptions floating around like that, especially right in front of the office he worked in.
Daniel grabbed Rikter by the arm and yanked him to his feet, leading him off towards his car and throwing open the passenger side door. "Get in so I can drive you...somewhere. We just need to get off this street," he said as the crowd shifted slightly to follow them. Some were even taking out cameras now. Great. |
At the head poke Rikter looked back up. It was weird to this male? This confused the angel, almost as much as the passing girls' comment. Bowing was a sign of respect, one that had been imbedded into the male after all those years of working for Arrow, so why was it so weird all of a sudden? He felt foolish, in a sense, but not only for the misunderstanding but also for the fact that he hadn't expected this guy to be as strong as he was. Of course when he was forced to his feet there was a momentary feeling of lightheadedness.
Even with all that Rikter was still no idiot. He wasn't about to get into the car with some stranger, no matter how nice he was acting or looked. That is until his eyes landing on the gleaming cameras not far off. He became as rigid as a pole for a second before folding his wings tighter to his body and getting into the car. Cameras were the last thing he needed seeing him. Even though the odds of Arrow getting to or watching a tv was slim to none, he wasn't about to take any chances. |
Daniel went around to get in beside Rikter. His car whined loudly in protest as he started it and he stomped at the pedal to force it to stay going. Then he quickly pulled out into the traffic and sped away from the crowd.
Once Daniel had driven a couple of blocks away he finally started to relax. Hopefully no one had followed him. He looked in the rearview mirror just to make sure. Nope. He smiled, then frowned a bit as he turned to Rikter. "Where should I drop you off, since the hospital's out of the question?" |
Rikter had taken great interest in the poor vehicle that sounded like it didn't want to do as it was told. He started messing with the knobs on the seat before the back rest flung back scaring the male half to death. He sat up quickly pulling on the lever once again and it slammed him in the back, pushing on it he was able to get it around to where it had been before and just left it where it stood not willing to fight with it anymore. Then reaching under the seat he found yet another bar, pulling on it the seat itself slid backwards. He didn't mess with it after that, he wasn't sure if he could win that battle.
Instead he looked from side to side before tugging on the seat belt and looking at the odd metal piece that hung from it. The car ride had been silent so far so Rikter was going to take advantage of that. Scooting off the seat he ducked his head and looked under the dashboard. He was very amused but the male's voice seemed to break through that. "Where should I drop you off, snice the hospital's out of the question?" He asked and that caused the angel to sit up. "I think something is loose in your vehicle," he said ignoring the male's question all together as he looked about the vehicle once again this time finding the automatic window quite entertaining. "You shouldn't be so hard on it, it is like an animal. It needs to be well cared for." With all of the new things in the car Rikter had an idea of what he was talking about, after all he had functioning wing pertruding out of his back. |
Daniel's frown deepened and he rolled Rikter's window up. "Knock that off. I know the car's crap, and I don't need you poking around at it. Now, can you tell me where your house is or a number of someone you know." Daniel turned sharply at an intersection, causing the car to squeal and sputter. He stomped on the gas pedal a few more times to stop the sound. He had turned onto a much less busy, and a bit more dark of a side street. To either side stood apartment complexes with graffiti scattered here and there on the walls and fences.
He parked the car in the only empty space left on the street and shut the engine off. The car seemed to sigh in relief as the whine faded away. |
"My house?" Rikter then shook his head at the thought of that as well as the whole 'someone you know' bit. "I am afraid that suck information is not available." His words were vague and may have sounded slightly cruel, but that was the truth. "My home is everywhere and nowhere all at the same time, and as for those that I know, they cannot be contacted mearly on a whim. Contact with them is a coincidence."
He shifter in his seat to look at the male, the surrounding area not bothering him in the least. It seemed almost peaceful to him, like 'home' if that's what the circus had become to him. "Let me fix it," he said nodding his head toward the dashboard. "I may not seem like it but I have quite the history with machinery." |
Daniel shook his head and opened his door. "Alright, whatever you say. You can stay the night, but I want you to find somewhere else to go tomorrow, even if its the homeless shelter. And keep your hands off my car," he added in a stern voice. He then stepped out, slamming the door, and started to walk along the sidewalk toward the door to his building. He really wasn't in the mood to deal with this crazy bum, but what else could he do? He knew he wouldn't get a bit of sleep if he just left him out here to fend for himself. The local gang would tear him up before morning.
He got to the gate that barred the front entrance and tapped on the metal to get the land lord's attention. The old man man sitting slumped in the loungechair just inside the gate snorted loudly and looked up, squinting at Daniel through the gate. "Whaddya want kid?" he growled. Daniel smiled at the old man despite his sour words. "Hey Jake, can you let me in? I've also got a friend with me." The old man's sour experssion disappeared and he hoisted himself up. "Can never tell whether it's you or not, boy. Office still a shithole?" the man asked as he unlocked the gate. Daniel nodded. "Same as always," he replied. |
Rikter sighed as he got out of the car. He hadn't known he would have been that much of a bother, he never was at Clockwork. This isn't Clockwork, you're free of them now, he thought as he tread slowly behind the well dressed male. "But is that really the best now?" She said quietly to himself as he stopped while the guy was talking to an older man. He looked around the neighborhood, yeah it was dreary but he had seen worse in his days and he was sure there was more blood spilled by his hands than those of the local gangs.
Once the gate was unlocked he awaited until the man that had brought him made some sort of action whether it was entering the property or not. His arms hung at his sides, cross them would have been a show of dominance and a barrier. He was taught not to do such actions, it was rude. Though Rikter was curious as to what the area was like. Given his first opportunity he would have to go look around and see what he had been missing all these years. |
Daniel waved goodbye to the older man as he stepped through the gate. He led Rikter through the front door and along a small lobby with a single flickering light. He came to the nearest elevator and pushed the up button three times. There was a soft clunk and a whir as the elevator came down and opened for them.
Daniel lived up on the third floor, which was comparatively much more cleaner than the rest of the building. The floor creaked with their every step though. He went to a door at the end of the hall and unlocked it, walking in first to set his coat and briefcase down. "I don't have much to eat tonight, so I hope you like frozen waffles. And don't use the bathroom sink," he warned. |
"Waaaafffffllllles," Rikter said dragging the word out trying to understand its meaning. It was definitly one he was unfamiliar with, but sink, he knew that word. He used to use one before the carnivale came to town. The cleanliness or the filth of the building didn't faze the angel one bit as he looked about, even sticking his head back out the door to look down the hall way before stepping back inside of the room swinging the door shut as he went.
"What is wrong with the sink?" He then asked, the forgein food no longer present in his mind. Riketer was always a go to man, a handy man of sorts. It confused him that someone would not request his help but rather push him away. Then again he wasn't because Cauchemars always pushed him away, but that was because they had been rivals. The tanned male moved about the room without making a sound, it was like he wasn't walking at all but floating. That was another illusion he had to work on when he first started out, no one would believe a clumsy angel. He looked about the room for a moment before finally sitting in one of the chairs. They were definitly more comfortable than what he was used to. |
Okay...Daniel wasn't sure if the guy really liked waffles or was just mocking him. He didn't feel like asking though. He shut the door and picked up his coat to head towards him room to change. He stopped just before shutting himself in to listen to the other's question. "The sink's been clogged for years. Jake never cared to fix it, so I get along by just using the kitchen sink. Also, I'm going to be gone later. Think you can manage here on your own for a few hours?"
|
"Uh huh," was Rikter's only reply as he stood up and moved around the room once again. There were a few doors aside from the one that the male had entered. Walking around he nudged one open and that's where he found the bathroom, though it was quite larger than what he was used to. "Amazing," he said to himself as he stepped inside, looking about the place like he had never seen one before. After a few moments he walked back out and started looking at other things, not touching, not yet at least. "So what is it that you would like me to call you?" He asked as he walked over and leaned against the door jam beside the door he had gone into.
|
"Daniel. You have an nickname?" he asked back from behind the door.
|
"I have been called 'angel' by those that do not know me but I do prefer Rikter," he stated calmly, his voice only loud enough to be heard through the door. Looking at his 'tattered' wings, if you could use the word, he sighed slightly. They were still responsive, that was good but they weren't the same wings as before. He was going to have to work on them at some point if he could come across materials to do so. He stretched his wings out once again, there weren't many gaps that needed to be filled, but it still didn't look right. Rikter then tucked his wings back in and close to his body, no need to have them get in the way.
|
"Are you foreign by any chance? You speak very formally," Daniel commented. The door opened then and he walked out to the bathroom, which had the only mirror in the house. He had changed into a pair of dark tight pants and a matching long sleeved shirt with an open back. He turned his back to the mirror, looking over his shoulder to tie the string over his lower back.
