"Well, Missy. We have an understanding." Sakino smiled and turned around, "Katsuki, is it. Fine, just don't bother me unless you extremely lost and these two idiots can't help you or you're near dead."
Lost? In the desert? As if!
Sakei and Tai watched the whole exchange with very funny expressions, and Katsuki managed to stop herself from laughing out loud. "We'd better find cover," she said. "There's a sandstorm coming." |
"Cover? In the desert?" Sakino said skeptically and raised an eyebrow. "What cover do you see that I don't?"
"There are caves in the rock in that direction," said Katsuki, pointing. "People travelling to and from the village often have to use them because only a suicidal idiot travels in a sand storm. We'll have to wait there until the storm passes."
"Well, you're our priority. Sakei, get her to the rock." Sakino commanded and ran to the rock and laughed to herself when Sakei pulled the girl onto his back and began running with her. He was the fastest ninja in the Village. Tai ran up front with Sakino, "Why are you such a dick?"
"Why don't you have one?" Sakino countered and looked back to be sure that Sakei was following. |
"I can run by myself," said Katsuki angrily, but Sakei didn't put her down. In the end she had to grab hold of both of us feet with the sand to stop him from running. As he struggled to move she slipped off his back. The sand under her feet instantly solidified and rose into the air, forming a platform. Then she made it move in the direction of the caves, hovering just above the ground.
"Oh, bitch got power!" Tai smiled in his fake 'gangster-voice' at Sakino and jerked his head back in Katsuki's direction. She didn't need to because the sand platform was already at her side. Sakei running directly beside it.
They soon arrived at the cave. Or really, a hole that was dug into the rock to give shelter to people during sandstorms. Sure enough, the winds soon started up and sand was flying everywhere, makign the whole landscape almost impossible to make out.
Unfortunately there also wasn't much room for everyone. Katsuki sighed. This really wasn't how she'd hoped the mission would start. |
Sakino discovered the lack of space in the hole in the rock and left to stand gaurd with a pair of goggles covering her eyes and a scarf wraped tightly around her neck she watched the shifting landscape.
Katsuki realised that due to the lack of space Tai and Sakei were very, very close. Tai, who was edging closer, got a full blast of the evils before she grew fed up and went over to stand with Sakino.
"You really hate me already, don't you?" |
*Who is she talking to? LOL*
*Sakino lol*
"Nope."Sakino said simply keeping her gaze on the horizion she couldn't see. Sakei moved closer to Katsuki, "She's just constantly angry, don't get offended."
"Whatever," sighed Katsuki, retreated back into the cave. "We'll probably be here a while, these sandstorms can last for ages."
She went right to the back and leaned against her bag. She was really tired, because she had gotten hardly any sleep last night, being kept awake by her uncle testing out his new battle puppets. She closed her eyes and dozed off. |
Sakino leaned against the edge of the cave wall. She groaned into her knees, "Why must it be soooo sandy?? Grr." She pulled out a picture from her Kunai pouch. It showed a little Sakino playing with her very first Kunai set, her father grinned at her in the background holding her mother's hand. A non-existant scene now. Why? Why can't it be like that, now?
*is anything else going to happen before I wake up or can I time skip?*
*Skip the time, woman! lol*
Instinct told Katsuki when the sandstorm stopped and she woke up. "I suppose we'd best get going again, then," she said, yawning.
*ok... so what do i do? ...*
Aiko and Michio and Toshiro were seated at the Ramen stand eating lots of Ramen. Michio as already on his fifth. "Didn't Sakino's team go and escort this sand person?" Toshiro asked between mouthfulls. "I think they have a four day walk before they get back." Aiko replied shy-ishly, she still wasnt completely comfortable with her team. Especially as they were both boys. "Really? Man am i glad we don't have to do that!" Michio exclaimed grinning at Aiko. |
"Let's get moving," Sakino got up from the sandy ground and pulled up the two sleeping lunkheads, Sakei and Tai. "Flank the Prince- I mean stay on either side of her. Be vigilant, to be safe."
Katsuki still felt she was being treated like a baby, but at least she hadn't been called Princess. As usual, it was very hot in the desert, but soon trees appeared on the horizon. It was the forest that separated the desert from Konoha. Katsuki felt sad to be leaving the desert, which was her comfort zone. The feel of sand beneath her feet was something she was used to.
"We're almost there. Be alert, Katsuki, you're not in your own turf anymore." Sakino said, turning to the boys she continued, "Be on guard, these woods are the main base for bandit ninja*?*"
Katsuki had never seen so many trees in her life. There were greenhouses in Suna where herbs and plants were grown, of course, but she had never seen proper wildlife before. She stared at the huge trees and had to fight to stay concentrated on moving forward. She wondered if there were many trees in Konoha...
"Bet you don't see much green out in Suna?" Sakei smiled at Katsuki from her left side. Tai on the right added, "I bet she doesn't see aannyy green, that right, Katsuki?"
Sakino shook her head, both desperate for a date with the new chick... This will end in disaster, either by Princess' hands or by Sakino's. Harrasment wasn't in the job description for this mission. |
"We do grow plants in Suna," said Katsuki. "But not this many, and they don't grow wild..." She shivered. As they went further and further into the forest, it grew colder, and soon the heat of the desert had vanished.
