Dragon Bane Inn, there be dragons here....
Plot/setting This is Dragon’s Bane Inn, a renovated, many story’d castle turned into a medieval inn by a retired knight. It is a beautiful place, stylized to resemble it’s roots while still being functional as an inn. It has a kitchen, main hall(including check in desk), dining hall, storage tower, blacksmithe, sewing room, and of course many, many rooms. Each room has it’s own color theme, which the guests can choose at their request or be assigned a random room, but is otherwise identical to the rest. One west tower is used for storage, the other holding sewing rooms, blacksmith shop(operated by Squeegy should you need help), and other such useful rooms, the two east towers for stairwells. In the main hall there is also a place for dancing, chatting, and general hanging out with various plush seats. In one corner are enchanted instruments which play the desired style on verbal request…The name is actually an inside joke between the knight and the dragon he rode, who cursed it many times as renovating is hard work! Especially with various hidden passageways to get lost in and not much flying room. The castle is sat on a large mountain face with many tunnels and caves which may lead to alternative entrances to the inn and who knows what else, in one of which sleeps the knights most powerful dragon ready to eat anything that threatens the security of the inn from the outside. The knight spends most of his time outside with this dragon and so you’ll mainly meet Squeegy should you check in. Squeegy being the Kobold who mans the check in desk in the main hall near the door… he doesn’t speak save in soft grunts but will nod yes or no and give hand gesture directions and seems to understand just about any language. (he is a npc because I’m lazy and so anyone can check in at any time whether I’m online or not.) Though any creatures living in the tunnels are unable to enter the inn itself, exploring the ancient underground is not recommended for your own safety. *note: when exploring the underground tunnels the inn is not responsible for any injury, loss of life, or equipment eaten by the untold legions of strange creatures who infest them…any loot from dead adventures found would be appreciated to be turned in at the main desk so that they can be shipped to any family or friends to be found. Characters Staying at the Inn *note, anyone who wants to work at the Inn is free to do so, just let me know! We could use cooks, housekeepers, black smiths, etc...Username:Staria Character name:Surya Lune Physical Description: She appears to be a tall, curvy woman in her early twenties with the ears, tail, eyes, claws, and feet of a cat. No profiles, permissions, etc required ^.^ First In character post XD/start post A cat-like woman with black hair streaked in blue, stands in the main hall holding her blue and silver key. She spins the ring it hangs from on one finger, her face emotionless a moment as she looks up at the stair case in front of her. It’s wider then the ones in the tower and leads to the second floor only rather then all the floors like the stairwells in the east towers which have doors to every floor…. She then smiles to herself and nods gently, the black cat ears on her head twitching a little. “This place will be perfect…” she mutters to herself as her black tail waves behind her. The woman is dressed in a combination of blue and black, including a hooded blue cloak held by a silver swan shaped pin. Turning her blue, cat like eye, as the other eye is covered by a black heart shaped eye patch, upward she debates staying in the main room to see if there’s anymore guests coming in today… more out of curiosity then anything. As she does so a small black rat with green eyes pokes out of her bag, looking up at her and saying something telepathically that makes the teenage looking woman giggle. “Yes yes we’ll go to the kitchen right after we get our room, k?” She responds softly to the rat. |
Keitaro had never heard of this place, it was pretty new, and he did love checking out new villas. It all seemed very interesting as he walked through the main hall heading for the desk.
His favorite part had been the size of the main doors, it was wonderful not having to duck, and the ceiling was nice and high too. "I hope the rooms are set up similarly.." He muttered to himself as he stopped at the desk. He placed his bags on the floor and began filling out the guest book. Despite the size and structure of his hands his handwriting was actually quite fluid and elegant. He smiled and slid the man at the desk a sheet of paper, "Just draw me a map...It'll make it more fun for me" He said cheerily as he took the key. When the crude map was finished he picked it up and then grabbed his bags as well, insisting that he carry them himself. He then headed off towards a staircase and up the steps. It really was such a nice place. |
Hearing a voice both the rat and Surya turned to glance at him as he neared the staircase. She gave him a polite smile and a nod though she was curious. Just what was this man? She’d never seen arms quiet like that… and it gained her curiosity. Still she was too polite to say anything, or even let her gaze linger too long. Briefly she glanced at the bags, her ears twitching in thought. “You need any help?” She asked in a curious, distant, polite tone.
|
Keitaro looked at the woman and the rat, he beamed and passed her the map, "Wanna help me find my room?" He asked cheerfully, "It'll be fun...an adventure almost.." He said as he waved the paper in front of her. He knew nothing of etiquette or introductions, he was a man who said what was on his mind before thinking it over.
|
An amused smile crossed her lips briefly, his cheerful open nature comforting to her… though it inwardly also made her a little sad. Showing outwardly only the amusement, however, she held out her hand and took the map gently in her clawed hands. She said nothing a moment as she glanced at it, seeing his room wasn’t too far from hers from her guesstimation…. Being she hadn’t gone to hers yet she couldn’t be sure.
“Sounds like a good idea…” She finally said aloud, giving him a brief but slightly warm smile. She then turned, bouncing up the steps and half doing a ballerina’s twirl once she reached the top. With her claws she balanced on them rather then the tip of her toes, showing how strong they were under her weight. She then glanced towards Keitaro, watching to see where he was and if he was keeping up. She would then begin to walk towards the room his map marked. |
He whistled in admiration as she pirouetted on the stairs, "Nice nice" He said smiling as he followed her. When he was happy he was open, but that was not to say that there wasn't something going on an that seemingly empty head of his.
Keitaro carried his bags doing his best not to swing them to much for fear of hitting her or knocking something over in the hall. He watched the doors as he walked by them, noting each number, as well as the one on his key. "I was told before I arrived that the rooms were selected for customers based on their specifications....so would that mean that no two rooms are completely alike?" He asked looking at her. He wasn't sure why he assumed she had the answers. |
The dancing cat drifted down the hall with that same half dance, half walk she often had. She didn’t seem to notice the compliment, half in her own little world in thought. She only paused as he spoke again, glancing towards him. She smiled faintly and shrugged her slender shoulders, arriving next to his room and leaning on the wall, crossing her arms and then putting one ankle over the other.
“I think so… in color scheme anyway… our keys should match the room too in someway. “ She held up her own blue and silver key to show him. “This seems the kind of place too… that they’d make any special adaption you sent them in advance… I kinda just wandered in myself…” |
Keitaro smiled and nodded, "Ah that sounds rather nice actually.. it does explain why my Key is so ornate at least" He said looking down at the silver key.
The metal twirled elegantly like vines the leaves making the prongs for the locking mechanism, the back of it was broad and leaf shaped with several green stones set in it. His mind wandered a bit as he walked, "I wonder if their rubies or emeralds...Rubies would be exotic if that were the case...its really such a nice shade though...a little less..blue than an Emerald should be...their probably rubies." He was talking to himself, this happened from time to time, but he didn't seem to bothered by it. He looked up at Surya and held up the key, "I think they're rubies..." He said as though this had any relevance to their conversation before. |
She nodded lightly, observing him briefly. He really was an interesting person… though his open nature…was odd to her. Refreshing yes…. But odd…. She shook of the thought, pushing away her paranoia and glancing at the key he held up. It really was very pretty… For a moment she was baffled, however, as he went on talking to himself. She half laughed a little bit, biting her lip to withhold a sarcastic comment…
AS he ‘revealed’ his thoughts she nodded, glancing at the roof. “Maybe… I wouldn’t know. I’ve never known much about gemstones. I guess I’ll have to just take your word for it…” Surya trailed off, tilting her head to the side. She didn’t mind sitting out here and socializing with him but it seemed he would have put the key in the lock and set his bags down anytime now… |
He glanced up at the door looking mildly dissapointed, "Ah....we're already here?" He asked as he set his bags on the floor and approached the door.
Keitaro lifted the key and pushed it into the lock, turning it carefully. The way the key was designed he was afraid he might snap it in two, "I don't know much about them my self... But Emeralds are a blueier green than Green rubies... There's something about rubies though...the color in them is always so pure." He smiled as he pushed opened the door. The sight that caught him left him a little speechless, the room was gorgeous. The headboard and frame of the bed were made of branches that had been grown or assembled into an almost nest like shape. There were furs draped across a dark green bed spread. There was an elegant wooden table with matching chairs sitting next to a set of french doors that opened onto a balcony. To one side of the room was a door that led to a small bathroom with a sunken tub designed to look more like a pond than a tub. Complete with bath products disguised as flowers. Perhaps what one him over the most was that everything was suited to his size. He looked positively thrilled. He looked back at the woman who had accompanied him, "This is pretty awesome... Oh wow...Yeah no...seriously... just..wow" He muttered as he picked up his bags and hurried in. |
Surya nodded, glancing at the sky. She was starting to feel the itch…. The ache her mother had passed to her… accordingly she kept her gaze away from him. She didn’t want him to see the hunger in her eyes… still, however, she spoke normally though she now stood straight with her hands in her pockets. “Seems we are…. And are they? Interesting to know.. . And so you like your room huh?” She chuckled slightly, smiling to herself. She appeared relaxed… though the hands in her pockets were clenched so tight it was a miracle her claws didn’t cut open her skin.
|
Keitaro nodded as he walked over to the bed reaching down and stroking the furs that were draped across the blankets, "Awww there's one goat pelt" He muttered with a small nostalgic smile on his face.
"Its like they read my mind or something." He said as he looked back at the young woman, "Oh yes...um thank you for helping me find my room" |
Surya shrugged, saying a little more curtly then she meant to “No problem…” She then turned, starting for the stairs. She intended to head for the kitchen and grab some raw meat… it would not completely satiate the hunger but it would temporarily stem the tide of it… She was not quite dancing in her walking as before, now seeming to walk fairly normally. She would keep control… she would keep control…

He was hungry. So very hungry. But the stairs leading up to the ground floor above was hundreds of steps away, not to mention how many more steps he would have to make to actually get to the gates of the castle...and even more steps than the more steps he would have to make to find the food. He just didn't want to get up and have to make the trip. But he was so hungry...there hadn't been a stray adventurer in ages. He wasn't sure how long it had been exactly, but it had been a while. He'd even finished digesting the bones that he normally discarded. |
((oh nuuu XD now there’s two people who want to eat the guests XD))
Surya sighed, shaking her head as she walked into the kitchen. Stealing away a piece of raw meat from the fridge before going to a deserted corner of the dining hall and sitting in a corner. She ate it delicately, cutting off pieces with her claws as she tried to calm herself. The beast within, however, clawed at her insides, tearing at her resolve. Closing her eyes she focus, leaning forwards so her streaked hair fell to half hide her face. ”monster….” she heard in the back of her head, her memories drudging up things she could do without. She forced down the memories, her tail half wrapping around her legs. Her pet rat, meanwhile, had curled up by her foot, happily crunching on a cracker she had gotten it. For a moment it’s jade eyes turned towards it’s mistress and it almost seemed to sigh.. Knowing exactly what she was thinking. |
((lol He does eat people, but if the people bring him food, he'll take the food instead because it'll save him the time of having to kill the people XD Eramthgin is a very, very lazy little thing...))
|
((really now?))
The feline woman was still cutting off small slivers when her ear twitched, hearing the sound of someone coming. She wanted to hide, but what was the use? A kitchen wasn’t much of a place to hide and many would blame her cat like nature for the raw meat…nothing else. So with a sigh she ate another piece, glancing at the rat who jumped back in her bag. It would hide, both knowing not many appreciated rats in the kitchen. Slowly she looked up, spotting the dark haired man through her one visible eye. Slowly she titled her head to the side, watching him a moment. “hi…” Was all she said as she slowly stood, her long legs unfolding from beneath her. She continued to cut off a few more pieces, ignoring the blood on her half gloved hands. She said nothing…waiting….waiting to see his reaction. She did not recognize him as a guest…and he smelled faintly like the underground. Still…it was not that unusual for someone to explore the underground despite the knight’s warning against doing so… ((night *hugs*)) |
Keitaro shut his door once the cat like girl had left. She was interesting to say the least, but there seemed to be something begging to be let free within her.
He shrugged it off, many people had those inner beasts, he didn't but he was aware there were some who did. And He wasn't about to pressure some one into explaining things about them selves. The green haired man crawled into his bed and rolled around on it, utterly thrilled to have a bed his size, it was simply amazing. While he was incredibly open Keitaro was not so simple as he seemed, he pulled out the key looking at the stones in silence, "mmh...The rooms are nice enough...Octagon would love them... But more than that. Its the underground I'd like to take a look at. " He muttered to himself as he twirled the key in his large fingers. "I wonder how one goes about accessing that though..." He muttered to himself. |
((through various entrences xD either a cave outside or one of the secret passageways in the castle >.> take your pic hehe))
|
((LOL I knew that but he doesn't lol))
|
((lol okay xD. *pokes the kitty* I would mvoe her but she's kinda stuck for now though she is attempting to move out of the room XD. ))
|
((Its fine))
|
((Ack, sorry, just woke up after passing out for ten hours.
|
Surya lune nodded gently at his response to her greeting, glad that he said nothing of the blood on her half gloved hands. At his question she wordlessly pointed to the ice box, a spell keeping the ice forming on the sides and the air cool much as a modern day refrigerator would once it was invented. Inside was the meat stores for the Inn… enough meet to provide for a full inn so more then enough being there was not yet many guests. The feline woman then dropped her hand, looking at the meet chunk in the other one.
She wondered if he’d chide her for taking it but… he looked hungry not angry. She took another piece, biting her lip. She was disgusted with herself… but it was better then letting out the beast and eating the inn’s guests… though the knight seemed perfectly tolerant of differences, after all he hired a kobold he’d fought in his journeys and befriended, but she didn’t think he’d tolerate the eating of his guests…. ((salright it happens ^.^)) |
Eramthgin cheered, not noticing the girl looking a bit uneasy. He quickly ran over to the container and threw the lid off, digging his hands in and unearthing the largest chunk of raw meat, from the bottom, and plopped down onto the ground unceremoniously. He usually preferred his food warm, but he was past caring right now and he eagerly bit into it, chewing happily and swallowing large mouthfuls of meat. Mentally, he promised himself to never let his hunger become so great again in the future, even though a small voice told him he'd just forget about the vow again a month later. |
