After a moment, it became clear that Razz was having a nightmare, for his expression darkened, and he began to shiver. His two cats were still in the room, under the bed. They darted out once they heard Razz whimper, and hopped up onto the bed to snuggle with him.
Iri flinched at the returning felines as she casted them a dark glare. She moved closer to Razz nonetheless though; she couldn't let the foolish creatures get in the way of her taking care of her possible new Sire. Her eyes became focused and serious as she grabbed both of his shoulders. She shook him gently though abruptly saying, "Rasputin, wake up."
Razz jolted awake, clutching at the blankets. He seemed to immediately know he wasn't in his room, despite being in his bed and having his cats around him. He sat up, rubbing at his eyes. He said absolutely nothing.
"R-Razz?" Iri asked slowly, not too sure about using that name. It felt weird for her to call him that though she was hoping that this helped him more than to have her call him Rasputin. She scooted a little closer to him, placing a hand gently on his shoulder. Her eyes softened slightly as she watched him, her eyes tracing over his facial features. He really did seem lost in the new area.
Razz simply sat there, staring at his feet, for a long moment. It seemed he was still in a state of shock, and would take several days to recover. He did move his hand when one of his cats nuzzled it, and petted the creature.
Iri recalled something that Tzal had had her do before they had left. Scooting closer to him, she wrapped an arm around his shoulders and pulled him closer to her. She wasn't sure if this would do any good but it was at least a try. When she repositioned herself on the bed her tail curled up beside her; she wasn't really thinking about the cats at this point.
Razz rested his head on her shoulder, closing his eyes. He was silent, but only because he didn't know what to say.
The cats were tempted to attack her tail again, but were more concerned about their master at the moment. |
Iri shot the cats a look, she had been serious when she talked about sending them to the kitchen now it was their turn to determine their own fate. They were in her territory now, not theirs. She then held the boy closer to her, her other arm wrapping around the front of his torso. Like Razz, she didn't know what to say, it was hard for her to try and understand humans and their emotions.
Razz shifted, sniffing slightly. He didn't know what to say, at all. It was obvious from his thoughts, which were still plainly open, that he was confused, quite pissed, and upset. That mix of emotions didn't seem to know what to do with itself.
Iri lay back on the bed, taking the boy with her. "This is your home, where you should have been all this time," she said, her voice soft. "It's not as bad as the shock is telling you. Your friends are here too, Tzalmon, the ones from the internet. They're all here." She then pulled the boy closer hoping that what she was doing was helping him.
Razz looked very irritated at first, then calmed down at the mention of his friends. "Mm-hm." He didn't say anything more, though he did curl up comfortably when she pulled him down to lay down.
"Tzalmon went to take them all to their bedrooms, I'm sure Momo or one of the house staff will help them," Iri promised. "I know it is a lot to take it, but I do hope that within getting used to this place you will come to like it. If not, we can always take you back to Earth even if the high council does not wish it."
"Okay..." For now, Razz seemed to have surrendered. But, that didn't mean he wouldn't fight later on, once his mind was fully there. He seemed calmer, and a bit more agreeable.
Iri turned to look at him slightly; she didn't want to move too much and make laying there uncomfortable for him so she only turned a little bit. "Is there anything that I can do or get for you?" She asked in a quiet yet respectful tone. She wasn't sure how much of what Razz was receiving was actually registering with him. She was trying to make everything easy to digest, well, at least a little easier seeing as he had been completely moved without his knowing.
Razz didn't say anything for a moment. "My cats. They need a litter box, or they'll go all over the place..." he murmured. The cats' box had been in his parents' bathroom, and it was something Iri had not brought with.
The cats looked at Iri rather innocently. |
Iri sighed thinking to herself, Out of everything, it had to be the cats that needed something... She didn't let Razz know that, unless his powers were getting stronger in this new area. Her old Sire could read her thoughts whether she wanted him to or not; it made things difficult at times. Instead, she said, "Very well, we can get castle staff on that right away." She then sent out a mental message to the very people she was talking about; it wouldn't be long at all, once they figured out what a litter box was that is.
Razz nodded absently, curling the cats up close to him. The creatures seemed perfectly affectionate to him--in fact, they rolled over, seeking belly rubs from him. Obviously, these cats despised nearly everyone, except for Razz.
"Is there any thing else?" Iri then asked, her eyes firmly locked on the cats as her tail began twitching, swaying slightly on the bed. She would have had no problem in leaving them behind, none whatsoever, but they were Razz's and if they were important to him she had to bring them. They could possibly get lost in the castle, or on the grounds though. Such thoughts seemed almost welcoming to the demon.
The cats showed obvious interest in her swaying tail, but didn't attack--belly rubs from their master seemed so much more important to them. Razz shook his head, silently, as he paid attention to his cats. He wasn't fully there, yet. He probably wouldn't move from his bed for hours, maybe even days.
Iri took her eyes from the group in the bed and stared at the wall not all that far from them. She wasn't paid enough for this. Honestly, she wasn't paid at all, it was a family servitude thing. She couldn't sit in bed for however long he was going to be in there to comfort him; she knew that since they were in this realm they were more than likely going to be having visitors at some point and she was going to have to prepare for that eventually. These guests were going to be perturbed if some sort of formal gathering wasn't planned for this occassion. Such thoughts made the demon seer, she never enjoyed these events.
Razz rubbed at his eyes for a long moment. He still didn't quite know what to say, but he was calming down with each passing moment. He petted his cats, giving her a sideways glance that clearly said, 'What now...?'
Iri ran a tongue over her lips, his thoughts were still quite open at this point and she wondered if it was just because he was too frazzled to block her out. "That is up to you," she told him as she moved the arm that was around the front of his body to rest on her side. "You rule here and whatever you say goes. Though I will warn you that your allies are going to wish for a formal get together to announce your arrival and existance. They have been waiting a very long time for you." She told him about it anyway, she didn't want to but she kind of had to.
At that point a couple of servants walked through the door carrying what looked like a dwarfed, roofless castle. They set it on the floor beside the dress and bowed towards Iri and Razz. They didn't react to seeing the futured Sire and his servant in bed, that was something that was not done. That wasn't going to stop them from telling the others though, especially the details on their new master. What they had left behind was the cats' new litter box, of course they would have made it a castle. It was for their master so therefore they would make it look the best and of high quality. |
Razz wrinkled his nose and made a face. Obviously, formal get-togethers were just not his thing. He hated dressing up, and he hated all the useless prattle that went on. He'd been to quite a few in his life--his parents had wealthy relatives.
He couldn't stand his relatives, for that reason and that reason only. Once the cats saw their new 'castle,' they purred and rubbed against Razz a final time before hopping off of the bed to examine it. |
Iri could help but chuckle at Razz's reaction when she looked back down at him. "I can feel your pain on this one," she told him, the humor still in her voice. "But sadly that is what must be done. These are very traditional lords that have seemed to take some interest of human royals. I guess that would be your best way to describe them." She then looked to watch the cats for a moment, at least they were away from her, that was a relief. Looking back at the boy she continued, "They type of get together is of your choice though. We should start making plans soon, is there anything that you would like to be done as of right now?" She was trying to move things along, at least in this situation. Iri knew that even though Razz was still in a state of shock that the rest of the dimensions wouldn't wait for him; he was just going to have to get used to all this and fast.
"Um...I really don't care what they do once they get here," Razz replied, quite honestly. "So I dunno..." He looked clueless. Obviously, this was not going to be an easy change for him...
