Iri's eyes narrowed as she looked from one boy to another. "Fantasy you say? What sort of fantasy?" She was wary now, no longer sure she was liking this idea. Thousands of reasons why it was a bad idea were going through her mind.
|
Um...everything from vampires, to made-up lands full of magical creatures, to werewolves...anything, I guess, Razz replied, idly. He wasn't one for reading.
Tzal nodded, finding this to be a good description. |
Iri had to fight off the shocked expression that was trying to surface on her face. "We shouldn't go there," she stated flatly. Made-up lands he said, he didn't know what he was going on about and if what he said was true then these two could find out more about her than she would wish them to know. There were many downsides to her subspecies of demon and she prefered to keep those downsides to herself.
|
Tzal seemed to sense this is what was bothering her. I've read almost every book in that library. It's safe. Trust me. Besides, I would do nothing to harm you. And it's not like I would announce it to the world. The world doesn't need to know anything...
Razz looked confused. He looked from him to her, puzzled. |
Iri's breathing picked up. "Those things are not for those that know of me to read," she said through gritted teeth. "If those things were to be known I am done, banished from this time and dimension." Ok, that part was a lie, but she was a deceit demon, she had to protect herself in some way. Her eyes then narrowed when she looked at Tzal. "What did you read about me?"
|
Since I am not sure what type of demon you are, I can't truly say. But, I've read much about a lot of different demons. I'm not going to admit such things to others, so why worry? Tzal yawned.
Razz cleared his throat and decided it would probably be best to stay out of this one. |
Iri was gone, vanishing back into the ring the purple veins pulsating much larger than ever before. She cut the ties with the boys just enough so they couldn't hear any of her thoughts. She needed to figure out what was going to happen. If they went to the library they were sure to try and figure out what she was at this point. She knew some of the people that put research into those books. They weren't of this world to say in the least. If they managed to figure out what she was and where to look they could possibly learn of her family past and an ancient curse, well more of eternal servitude. She couldn't let that happen.
|
Razz poked Tzal's arm. "Nice going..."
Tzal snorted, half-amused. "It was not my fault, Razz...the idea of going to the library must scare her for some reason..." |
Iri, you have to calm down, you don't need to be doing something that you'll regret over something that may not even happen, she told herself as she tried to bring the glowing down. She wasn't having much luck though, he mind was racing and things just were not going right since she left the saloon. I could go back, she then thought as though it were the most brilliant plan in the whole world.
|
Razz sighed, then patted the ring. "Hey..." he muttered, pointedly. "What makes you think we have any intentions of hurting you? I'm not that kind of person, and neither is Tzal..."
|
Iri sighed before opening the connection back up to them. It is not so much hurting me but more so learning things that I would rather not be found out. Things that would, for lack of a better term, chain me down one would say. I do not plan on this desolate planet much longer and I would prefer that it remains that way. She knew what the books said if the right ones were there and she was afraid of what it could mean.
|
Uh...Tzal's already read almost every book in that library...so it's probably a moot point when talking about him--he's probably read the stuff you don't want us to read, if it's in that library, Razz reminded her, pointedly.
Tzal nodded slowly. It is not like we will use anything we find against you. |
As long as what I am remains a mystery to you both then I am safe from being restricted, Iri thought to them pushing back Razz's pointed statement. She didn't need to freak out again that day. That wasn't the only thing, if they found it out and the bloodline was found she wouldn't have a choice as to what she would be able to do anymore.
|
Well, don't tell us specifics, then, if you're really worried, Razz retorted. We know you're a demon. We just don't know what kind. As long as that's up in the air, everything should be fine. Agreed?
Tzal had been trying to figure out what kind of demon she was before, but he shrugged it off at Razz's statement, not really all that curious. |
Should be being the key words there, Iri pointed out as she sighed. She wasn't leaving the ring though, she felt safer when people couldn't see her and right now she was feeling very vulnerable. I am not so sure that I should be away from the Saloon... She then thought to them, though a part of it was her just trying to get out of going to the library.
|
Nonsense. Tzal had a very firm expression on his face. You should get out more. What's the point of remaining in our world if you don't see it like we do? We don't have to go to the library, though I'd like to. If there is anywhere else you would like to go or anything you would like to do...I am all ears.
Razz nodded, slightly unwillingly. He would pick up the books at a later date, if that's what Iri wanted. |
Your time period is unknown to me so therefore do as you wish, Iri told them. She was contradicting herself left and right, she knew that and this time is wasn't on purpose. She could read Razz's body language and felt a little bad for causing all of the mess over something that she probably didn't have to worry about. Where ever you go I am sure I can learn something, she settled on that way if they wished to go then they could.
|
Razz perked up a bit, seeming content with that. He hadn't noticed how far the bus had gotten, and he jumped up suddenly when he realized it was at their stop.
Tzal deliberately hid Razz in the middle of a throng of students exiting the bus, so the driver wouldn't see him. Once they stepped out and the bus had left, he seemed relieved--Tzal did not like crowds. |
Why do so many people get off at this stop? Iri asked as the sun greeted the ring once out of the group. She could keep herself distracted this way, she had to let go of whatever they were going to do. That wasn't something that was all that easy for her though. She had never been as on edge as she was now and it was quite obvious that she didn't like it.
|
There are a large number of houses in this area, Tzal explained, leading the way. He would take them to the library.
Razz yawned, stretching his arms out. He seemed perfectly content with going to the library, though he was worried about Iri. He hoped she wouldn't get angry or anything, especially at Tzal, who loved books concerning the supernatural. |
Iri simply hummed just to let them know that she had heard them. She knew what houses were, at least she wasn't that lost as to this race. After all she had been here for a while, she just hadn't been able to leave the saloon in, well, she couldn't quite remember how long.
|
After a while of walking, Tzal perked up. The library was an old building, possibly as old as the saloon, but it was still in use. The large Corinthian columns and stone lions in the front of the building greeted potential readers. He led them inside--it was rather cozy.
Razz was always intimidated by the place. He felt strange in here. |
An almost relaxed wave fell over Iri at the sight of the old building and yet at the same time it put her even more on edge. It was almost like, if the building could talk what stories could it tell sort of things. She said nothing though as the old architecture just washed over her. She had always appreciated that look more than those of modern day, sure their were more drawbacks to it but the look was so much more elegant.
|
Tzal glanced at Iri, forcing Razz to stop before he wandered off. Rasputin is going to go look at some classical works, since he needs to check them out. I, on the other hand, am going to go and look for a more interesting book. Who would you like to accompany?
|
((O.o I have no idea why I haven't posted in here... I never saw the post yet my computer says I did! >.> Stupid computer XD))
Iri thought about that for a moment, classical or something 'more interesting'. She wasn't too sure, yet she did catch the fact that Tzal called Razz Rasputin rather than by his nickname. I am not so sure if this would be wise, she told them, though she was leaving out the fact that she didn't know if she would even be able to venture that far from either Razz or the ring. |
