Lairshin had been watching his children, not entirely happy with their performance but content. Especially with his daughter. She seemed to actually be getting along with a potential and that pleased him. He excused himself from his wife and strode walked to where he had seen his daughter and Deks disappear. He hid in the bushes while they talked, eyebrows raised the whole time. This was defiantly interesting. But they were talking about leaving and that just would not do.
Lair walked out, golden eyes burning just a little bit. He walked up to Miki and put a hand on her flank as reassurance. She wouldn't hurt him, even if she tried. She knew better, at least. He looked at the children. "Well, this is fascinating. Though I'm afraid you are not allowed to leave." He turned his eyes to his daughter. "You know that as well as any, Kaida. And I have no doubt you know that also, Deks. You may converse but not leave." He turned his eyes on Deks, looking him up and down. "You've made one hell of an impression, Deks Eclipse. I hope you do not shame my daughter as you have the Water Princess. Things won't go so well if you do." He looked back at his daughter and flashed a smile at her. |
"Yes actually, it is one. What is yours? Better yet what is your favorite animal, food, flower, song, color?" Hotaru said as he got a little excited about knowing all her favorites after all it was something very important to him, and at least that way he could make things up if he ever messed up with her. He chuckled as he ran a hand through his hair, ater all he was really liking her so far and that was one of the main things, he just might end up choosing her out of the others.
"Maybe it is the way that your hair is cut that makes you look funny. I actually like how your hair is......even if it gets in your eyes. What do you want in a girl?" Hopi-Rose asked him, she still had a blush on her ace, she tilted her head towards the ground, looking at the ground as she tried to hide her blush from the man, it wasn't workng to well since her face was bright red. She bite her lip as she tucked a lose strand of hair behind her pointted ear, she took a deep breathe as she finally looked up meeting his copper eyes with her hazel ones, she still had a slight blush on her face as she did so. She then looked away shily, not completely understanding exactly why this man made her feel a little awkward but it was something that she had to live with. |
"Okay, heres them in order of your questions."Panda, don't have one, Rose and Teal. And what about yours?" She asked, asking the same question."Though, leave out the animal.." She said, looking at him with a soft smile."And my favorite numbers 23 if you were wondering."

A deep exhale came from Deks' direction. "Look, I'm sorry I'm such a fu*k up prince. Do you honestly think I try to be one? Yes, I'm rude at times. Yes, I'm immature at times. Yes, I'm ignorant and arrogant. But is that really something to always shove back in my face? Have you ever dared to look at yourself? You all think you're so great and powerful, but are you really? Believe it or not, I bleed."
Taking to the skies, Deks felt an odd sensation come to his eyes. A tear. A single tear formed in the corner of his eye and slowly escaped from this left lid. Sliding down his cheek, he felt it burn away at his skin. It was leaving a trail that would be so obvious to see. Deks contemplated clearing it off, but felt that if he did so, it's meaning and purpose would vanish. Looking up ahead of himself, Deks began to slow his beating wings. Halting and just floating in the upper atmosphere, the young prince left another bead of water form in his right eye. "I bleed. I cry. And one day... I'll die." His depressed glance drifted toward the earth where the fire family stood. Who are they to tell me who I am? I know who I am. I know what I've said. I know what I've done. I don't need it replied and spat back out to me. As the tear from the right eye made its way down his face, he could feel it ripple down his neck. A light patting sound came next as it sunk onto his leg. Eyes just darting down to see his wet knee, the wind prince exhaled again. These up and coming years of his reign were going to be hell. He looked forward to being their for the people, but he hated the thought of disgracing his future wife. She, the very woman he would swear undying love to, would most likely be hated and shunned by the other gods and rulers because of who she would be forced to marry. Not even Nene wanted to embrace the scornful flames of hatred. |
Shin smiled softly and shrugged. "Yeah I think that's a good point too." He said with a nod agreeing. His hands found its way behind his back and he tilted his head slightly thinking. "Well I suppose someone who's loyal, or at least mostly loyal, who loves their country and doesn't mind mine. Adaptable and kind, but tough enough to handle themselves as well. A girl who can be comfortable in her own skin and enjoys the little things. And doesn't mind dragons." He said simply with a grin. "I think that's all. What of yourself? What do you look for in a man?"

Lair raised an eyebrow as Deks left. "Well, that young man is certainly full of himself as well." He turned to look at his daughter and he was actually smiling a normal smile, not mean, not sarcastic, just normal. "I didn't mean to scare him off, Kaida. Perhaps you should take Miki and go after him..." He sighs. "Really, kids these days. We're trying to do what's best for you, you know, not pushing you to be who your not. We're here to help whether you think so or not." Then he muttered quietly under his breath. "And we get it thrown back in our faces. She'll do it in three...two...one..." |

Kaida was not all that happy her father was interrupting them. She had been talking with the wind prince and as far as she could remember her and her brother were destined for wind or earth. What was the point in doing this then? She didn't get it and she wasn't pleased with it either. Whether he believed it or not she was fully capable of learning from her own mistakes. Her eyes narrowed and she was just about to open her mouth and say something when Deks spoke up. Her gaze quickly shifted to him as she watched the male more or less belittle her father. That was her thing but at that point her father's attacks were more focused on the wind prince. Yet the more Deks spoke the more it sounded like he was trying to guilt her father or something. That was a new approach to it. He took off to the sky though he still had one last thing to say it seemed. Her father than started talking to her and she couldn't help but feel the anger boil within her more and more with every word. Miki hadn't seemed too happy at all since Lair had shown up; while she wouldn't attack him she was wary of him. At this point though she moved herself to stand behind Kaida once again, her head dipped as she growled at the fire king. "You're trying to do what's best for us?" Kaida yelled at her father as flexed her hands; this time the fire wrapped around her arms from her wrist to her shoulder coiling around her arm almost like snakes. "We are adults father we can figure things out on our own. You say that you aren't trying to push us and yet what is with only having two choices in whom to marry? The commoners can marry whomever they so wish, so why can't we?" She then shook her head as her blue eyes narrowed into the darkest glare she could muster. "You aren't trying to help us, you are trying to forever keep us under your thumb. Even when we take up thrown in whatever nation, we won't be the ones ruling, you still will be." |
"So Deks got to you. I am rather impressed," Nene came walking forward with her arms folded over her chest. "I guess you like him back. Well it's that a shocker. Daddy's little girl doesn't want to boring and dull obedient earth prince. She wasn't the rebellious open-viewed wind prince. Now, I may say so, I think it's only fair for me to say about damn time!"
Stepping back to shift her weight to her left foot, Nene placed her hands at her hips. "But Princess Kaida, don't blow it. He's not worth it. Ever wondered why I hate mother? Him. He came about and told me wonderful things. Things about a life far more free than ours, but also more challenging and difficult. Ever since then, mother and I have been at each other's throats. We can no longer see eye to eye and now we're a torn family." Her eyes drifted to the fire king. "Don't let him ruin your family bond. No man is worth it if it means losing the people that brought you into this world. Or at least, I don't think it's fair...." Nene closed her eyes and then watched as a taunting memory played in her mind. "Storm, Deks' nickname, didn't come about for him being rebellious. He got it because he blew up in my face when I told him that he was wrong to come between a family and rip them apart. I said just because you're family hates you, doesn't mean mine have to hate me." She exhaled. "Ever since then, our relationship has been strained. He might still love me, but it's no longer a love for a wife. It's not a love that is meant for a friend or maybe even a sister." Falling silent, the princess hopped back on the over-sized frog she'd bounced over on. "I'm truly sorry for getting you involved Kaida, I never meant to hurt you." She stroked the large frog's head and in a second, it vanished. Oh what have I done? I'm just a family and heart killer. |
“Ouch” Leo commented when she said what would happen if someone tried to braid her hair “Sounds just like Dante” he said, a slight smile on his face. He nodded to what she said “Yeah, I always wake up early just to make sure I can give him a ride and some company before I even think of doing anything else” he told her. Normally, he would prefer to sleep in, but since he had gotten Dante, his sleeping pattern changed dramatically, plus, it meant that if he was out riding, his parents were less likely to find him and make him train.
He laughed with her and then grinned “Well, I’ll be sure to make sure that I don’t give you a reason to get angry then” he teased her with a grin. He nodded at her comments about imagination. “I don’t really think I’ve grown up that much in the last few years, I’m still very imaginative, and sometimes very childish….and yeah, I spend a lot of my time daydreaming” he said, rubbing the back of his neck and smiling at her. He nodded in agreement “I know, that’s why I’ve got one as a companion back home” he laughed “And he’d love to meet you too” he said, leaning back against the tree that was behind him. “Wow, that is pretty controlling” he mused. “My father isn’t that bad, or maybe I’m just very good at escaping his influence” he laughed, running a hand through his hair. |
"Yep it hurts like nothing else and that's with full body armor." Amethyst said from experience. Smiling she nodded. "That is best for the horse human relationship I suppose. I'm not very good at early morning so I spend time with her at night." She said simply stretching best she could in her armor. She often spent many hours into the late evening with her horse which the animal didn't mind since it was almost always dark. The only time Camanchi had given Amethyst problems was when she was tired from traveling.
"Good don't" She said grinning with a slight chuckle. "That's alright there is nothing wrong with staying in touch with the inner child. I have lots of practice with the kids I run into in my travels. They are the cutest little things I've ever seen. So morph able." She stated simply. "You can always teach a child and reteach a child. Its amazing, they are such unique creatures." She stated before laughing. "Forgive my thinking aloud." She said shaking her head some. "I still daydream from time to time, when I'm not to busy." She said thinking about it. "Oh that's really cool." Amethyst Rain said with a grin. It was awesome to see people with animal companions she'd met quiet a few who had a bird, snake, or other animal. Fire normally had a dragon and her kingdom gargoyals but she'd avoided that companionship. Not because of a lack of enjoyment around the creatures but because of how much she traveled. "OR perhapse it is both he's not so bad and that your good at escaping the influence?" she thought aloud. |
"I just want someone who will let me be me and not take my element away from me, treat me like a wife, a friend, a lover and not as something that is just in his way and will let me keep Baby Girl. I never wantted to marry one of the men that was picked for me but i guess that was bias off me since i didn' even know you two. Now that i got to know you some i think that we could be friends." Rose said to him as she turnned and looked at him, letting him see the truth in her words as played with a strand of hair, she wiggled her toes a little, letting them slip into the soil. she smiled softly at him to try and make her words softer even though she was speaking in a soft voice. "Earth is always adabtable it is the creatures that have problems adabting." she said to him as she got a far off, wise look on her face as if she knew this better then any one else in the area.
"Green apples, none for the flowers and i will have to say midnight blue. I also like music even though i am not good in that department." HOtaru said to her as he chuckled a bit as he finished eatting his apple, he smiled at his draft horse, petting him on the neck before he turnned his attention back to her, he picked another green apple up and began to eat it. |
"Oh come on. You have to be good at some sort of musical thing." She said, running her hands threw her hair, checking for knots even though there were none since she brushed her hair all the time. She sighed, waiting to hear his reply."And you don't have a favorite flower?" She questioned.

Shin laughed softly and nodded "Well one thing is for certain m'lady, if there is one thing fire can use its earth. With out it the element suffocates, water puts us out, wind has a habit of pushing the element around, darkness dislikes us, light doesn't need us, and we happen to not get along with each other." He said with a chuckle. "Being yourself and true to yourself is important, I should add that to the list of things I want in a woman." Shin said with a nod. "And being able to stand beside and not behind your husband is a good thing to want. I would hate for a woman to think she has to listen to everything I say. Someone who'll argue with me if they don't like what I'm doing, or give me a new perspective." he said and as he said it his voice rang with passion. It was something he strongly believed. "As for things adapting. I must say I agree with that statement fully."

"Sadly music is just a talent that escapes me. No i don't have a favorite flower, after all i have seen them all and none really appeal to me, but if i have to chose one then i guess it will be the bird of paradise." Hotaru said to her as he flicked his hand and showed her what it looked like, he smiled as he handed it over to her, finishing his apple quickly. He then smiled as he stood up, his chair dissappeared nto the ground as he held his hand out to her as the draft walked up to them as if he was waitting.
"Trust me i wouldn't listen to everything you say anyways....i am earth i am stubborn when need to be and won't budge on things i believe to be right. I know all the elements need each other. Earth needing the others more then they think. As long as i can have a garden i guess then i will be happy....in away." rose said to him as she smiled at the passion that he had showed her, she knew that fire was for more then one thing and having a firy passion like he did was something that she valued even if she didn't tell him everything that she wantted in a man. She placed her hand back onto the tree as she looked almost sadly up at it, glad that they were getting along, she knew her brother hated fire and had no plans are marrying the sister but she wan't about to tell anyone that. "Can you tell me about dragons?" she asked Shin as she turnned her attention back to the man, shiftting her weight once more .as her feet pulled them self out of the little bit of sand that she had created at her feetl |
Katie took his hand, twirling the flower in the other. "Well, it is a very pretty flower." She said, blushing a little."Maybe I could teach you to play an instrument sometime, I know how to play tons." She smirked."So do you know any other languages?" She asked, running her hand over one ot the petals of the flower. It was gorgeous, and she had never even heard about it before.

Shin smiled and nodded listening carefully. Then he grinned. "Dragons, now there is a specialty of mine. They live in groups societies who live under the rule of a queen not a king. The females of the species are those in power." He started with a grin. He leaned carefully against a tree behind him. "They are good fighters but are very peaceful creatures. Some of them like mistchif some like to be alone. All together they are beautiful creatures. You have to earn their trust and always be respectful. They are proud creatures not to be tamed but understood. Our dragons, the ones that brought us here are our companions. We have a link to them and each dragon and their companion can hear each other no matter what. They are very protective of their young, and mate for life. It's best not to break up a family. Its best to give them something to think about and expect the unexpected." He said softly.

"I never knew that. Horses mate with any one, it isn't for life, and the are herds of them but thier leader, who is actually a protector of the herd is male. They are like humans but the only do harm when it is nescesary. They like to be treated the way you would want to be treated and we connect with our horses also but once in a while one of the Earth Kingdom will do so with a unicorn who is more peaceful then any creature i have come across." Rose said to him as she smiled, finally moving about as a normal person would she walked around the tree once before she bowed slightly to it, and took a seat underneath it, her legs tucked neatly beneath her. She smiled as she leaned back, tilting her head back until her eyes were closed and it was facing the leaves that were in the tree above her, swaying slightly as she listened to everything.
"Sign language but that isn't really a language...hmmm....Latin is one that i know." Hotaru said to her as he ran a hand through his long hair, squeezing her hand slightly before he moved both his hands to her waist, picking her up as he set her on the stallion's back. He then climbed up behind her and Airx just started to walk off in what almost seemed like a random direction if you weren't connected lik the man and the beast. |
Shin smiled and nodded. "Horses are also loyal and brave, just like dragons, they deserve as much respect too." He said with a nod before watching her sit down. "Unicorns, I didn't think they roamed around here anymore. We haven't heard of any ones popping up near the boarder in a while I suppose they learned to stay away from the area where the grass dies." He said simply sitting down and crossing his legs as he back rested against the tree. "Do the plants ever sing?" He asked feeling sorry if they didn't singing was something he believed that allowed mortals the insight into the soul of something. IT was like a peek into an unknown part of ones self.

"They are still here, they just adabted to thier surrounding better then the other creatures." Rose said to him as she looked back at him after she tilted her head so she wouldn't be straining her eyes. "Yes....shhh...listen." she sai to him as she closed her eyes and swayd with the breeze that was blowing through the grass and the leaves in the trees, she hummed slightly, it was matching the sounds that was heard, he might not have heard the music but it was soething she could, they always sung when the wind blowed and she did also.

She blushed when he held her waist."Well, I know french, some Roman, Spanish, Japanese and I can write in greek." She said, looking off into the direction Arix was taking them."Is he just going at random?" She asked, putting her hands on one of his. "You know..your a great guy. Any girl that marrys you is goign to be very lucky." She laughed.

"If any girl wants to marry me that is. Arix knows where is going, we don't go place just because it is random. Well that is a lot of languages saly i am better at English." Hotaru said to her as he chuckled, he reached around her and grabbed the reins, and once he did that and pressed a hand to Katie's stomach to hold her in place, Airx took off running, the landscape passing them almost quickly as they seemed to head to a secret spot to be alone at. He chuckled a little before he took his hand from her stomach and run it through his hair, he then placed it back to keep her in place and make sure that she wasn't going to fall off.

Katie smirked."Plenty of girls here would love to marry you if they got to know you. So..what do you look for in a woman?" She asked, twirling a strand of her hair and looking at everything as they ran by. "This is great! Thank you." She smiled.

Lair raised his eyebrows as his daughter threw her fit. He was about to speak when Nene showed up and spoke her piece. He waited. When she was finished, he smiled kindly. "Nene, I appreciate your concern for my daughter. And I am sorry that your family has been torn apart, though I think it may not be as bad as you make it out to be. The thing about families, even when we're apart in our thinking and seem to be at far, we are still family. Talking is a good way to work things through. Speaking of which." He turned to his daughter. "You honestly think I'll even want to rule when your brother takes the throne? Or any of us for that matter? And really, my parents left as soon as I took over, leaving for vacation as they liked to call it. None of us had our parents help after we ascended. We had to toil through it all ourselves." He laughs. "Just the idea of mother and father ruling behind me is hilarous." He was about to turn away when he added. "And another thing Kaida, something you should have learned by now, as an adult, is that there are some things we cannot do that our subjects can. Because of who you are and what you can do. Keep that in mind, child, before you spout childish words and insult your elders." He looked back at Nene. "Perhaps you should try talking to your mother in a calm setting, such as this one. Just food for thought. My Goddess knows, I can only dream of my children doing that with me and my wife. Until I see you at a later time, adieu." He turned and left, not allowing for his girl to even say anything before he did. She would just fume and say hurtful things, again. And be rebellious, he thought with a small chuckle as he found his place by his queen once again. |
