"You are welcome." Shadow watched them, quietly. "She is not in pain anymore, so anything we could do to prolong her stay in this life...she would probably appreciate it. She should regain consciousness once she fully relaxes...so you may have time to speak with her."

"I hope so. but even just knowing that her last day or so was in peace makes me feel better." the woman eyes fluttered open as he spoke. looking down at her he smiled. "hay there sister, how are you feeling?" he said in Greek.
"I can not understand what your saying sir." she spoke in their native tongue.
"oh sorry Jaelle, I forgot that you probable did not know Greek." this time he spoke in their native tongue.

Shadow switched to their native language. "Are you feeling better?" he asked, kindly. His hood was still up, so his odd eyes and hair were covered. No need to scare the poor girl...

looking up at him Jaelle frowned. "who is this Angelo?" her hand slowly wrapped around angelos. there was a touch of fear in her eyes, her heart beat was up.

"this is my, our master, though he does not like to be called that. you can call him sir or Shadow." running his hand down her face a tear trickled down his cheek.

Shadow watched them, again feeling solemn. "You have lost a lot of blood. A lot...I would suggest staying in bed until you feel a little better." He didn't know how long she would make it, but he hoped it was long enough for Angelo. He looked upset.

"do not lie to me sir, I have already seen my death. I am only happy that I saw it true and no just a dream." she pushed her self up slightly, then looked over at Angelo again. "dear little brother, I am glad to see you well and loved." she reached out to touch his face as he did her's. "but you have been betraying the Gifts that our family have." Angelo pulled back as she forced awake some of his gifts. stumbling he plopped to the ground. he could see so much, and hear things that he would never have header before. his eyes grew wide as he saw what was to happen, what could happen, and what would never happen in this world. tears now flowed freely down his cheeks.

Shadow reached down and helped Angelo up, scooping him up and setting him back on the bed. "Thank you. I have been trying for years to make him see the light. He's been resisting it...I believe he is afraid." He paused. "Tell me, young lady, since you have seen your death, how would you like to be laid to rest?" He felt it would be better for her to choose.

trying to understand what was going on in his head Angelo curled up next to his sister. after a few moments he hid his face in his hands trying to block out the noise.

"sorry Angelo, but it had to be done." Jaelle looked from her brother up to Shadow. "he has always been a stubborn child, even when we were kids. I am glad that he was the one to find me." reaching down she ran her fingers through his hair, as she cast a spell to create a shield around 'mind that would wear away as time went by. sighing he looked up at shadow, a look of sadness and lose plain on his face.

Shadow reached out and rubbed his arm, in a gentle, soothing manner. "I will teach you how to control everything, so that you aren't overwhelmed by the voices," he murmured, calmly. "But you need to let me teach you, instead of shying away from it. All right?"

"if he does not allow you sir then I will come back to hunt him till he does." Jaelle said as she looked down at her brother. they had been so close for so long that even without trying she knew what he was seeing. Angelo gasped and shivered. "would you hold him, he trusts you and I can not, I am still to weak." Angelo cast his eyes on her with surprise and accusation.

"you did not tell me." his voice cracked. "why?"

"because dear brother it would not have changed what happened." she said kindly.

Shadow reached down and picked Angelo up, setting down in his lap and letting his arms drape around him in a comforting way. He rubbed his back, gently. He continued to just hold him, rocking him back and forth slightly.

"how could he not have seen." Angelo said quietly, his mind filled with the thoughts and images of his sister dieing, quickly overnight after her master had taken his pleasure. she had been a pleasure slave, but something had gone wrong in the end. reaching out again Jaelle gently brushed his hand and gave him the gift of time. the gift that made the images not so sharp, the death not so fresh. she know that he would have to face hers soon enough that he did not need to feel the lose of both of them so sharply.
"sir I do not wish to be buried at all, I wish to be sent off on a bonfire, and let the winds carry me where they will." she sighed her breath heavy in her chest. "I do not think I will last out the night, and there is much my brother needs to know. will you not listen to what I give to him in his mind?"

Shadow continued to hold Angelo, reaching up to stroke his hair. "Calm...she is in a better place, now." He glanced at Jaelle and nodded, quietly. "I will honor your wishes. And I will not listen if it is private."

"thank you sir. there are things that I just want him to know that it is against our family's rules for non family to know. our gram gave the information to me before she died." as she spoke she sent what she had to Angelo. he jerked with surprise then sniffed again.
"she knew?" his voice was a whisper.

Shadow continued to hold Angelo, resting his chin on top of his head and closing his eyes. He felt strange not knowing what they were discussing. "By the way, young lady, would you like anything to eat, at all? It would be your last meal..."

"yes Angelo she knew, that is why she said you did not have a gift." Jaelle said then gave the memory that she was not giving to Angelo to Shadow. it was the attack on the family camp but in it Angelo's powers were fully awakend and he used what he could and more trying to save the family. in the end he drew on his life force its self and died, never once saving a single one of his famly. give this to him when he is ready for it. now he would not understand.

Shadow stored it in the back of his mind, nodding slowly. He stroked Angelo's hair in a rhythmic pattern, not used to having a warm body in his arms. He'd been lover-less since Rosethorn died, in mourning.

she smiled and leaned back sighing. "you remember those meat patty's grams used to make Angelo?" he nodded at his sister question. "can you still make them?" Angelo smiled and nodded.
"yes sister I make them ever week." she sighed. "is that what you want for dinner?"
"yes please." her voice was a bit weaker now.

Shadow shifted, setting Angelo on the bed. "You go on and make dinner. I'll stay with her..." he glanced at Jaelle. "Try to hang on until you have eaten, at least...it will make the passage easier for you. I'll stay here and help you, if needed."

"thank you sir." bowing Angelo slowly walked out of his room to the kitchen.

"is there something you wish to ask me?" Jaelle seemed to be a bit better then she had a moment before. "I will not be dieing so soon as that."

There was an absent look in Shadow's eyes for a moment. "I don't know how I am going to get him used to having powers," he admitted, quietly. "Plus, I believe some trust went to waste today, through no fault of mine or his..."

"what happened sir?" a worried look crossed her face. what has he done that he feels that waste some trust. reaching up she touched his face gently. "I do not think you need to worry about the powers now. I told him that Grams knew about his power and what the were and that you have the answer to why she never told him. I also told him that you would tell him when he has finished his study's and you felt that he was ready to know."

Shadow sighed, then opened up his mind a little bit to reveal today's events. "...I guess I will try...but, I don't know how cooperative he will be about this..." He had a bad feeling about it, since Angelo had resisted for so many years.

"do not limit your self by saying that he is not going to be cooperative." he eyes grew a bit wide as she saw what he was not trying to show her. a blush crossed her face. "I had not thought he would..... he let you touch him now and did not try to pull away from you."

"I have a feeling he won't be, but I suppose we will see." Shadow cleared his throat. "It was his behavior after that worried me. He hasn't referred to me as 'sir' in years. He looked frightened."
