" he was surprised and scared, let him relax again and I think he will not be so cold to you. I have seen my brothers..." she coughed, putting her hand to her mouth it came away with blood. "mind and he still does care for you. just dont push him to go as far as last time, let him lead you."

"sis do you want one or two?" Angelo came in carrying a bowl with the mix in it. "I did not want to make to much for you, just to have you not eat it.

Shadow searched out the injury that was causing the bloody coughs and healed it, gradually. ~...I will do that...but, he kept pushing me to lead, and he didn't tell me to stop, like he said he would, so...I didn't. I will wait an dsee, I suppose...~

"what are you two talking about?" Angelo look closely at his sister, the smile that had been there from her asking him to make dinner disappeared as he set the mix down on the floor and walked over to her. "your not going to die Now are you?" she could not die before he had made her the food. that would just not be fair.
"that only proves that you have the gift, if you know he was talking to me without speaking." she sighed as Shadow applied the magic to her. "it was nothing you need to worry about baby brother. it was just some blood in the lung that my body was trying to expel." and it was the truth, but not the whole truth. old wounds that had once been healed now unhealed. for to long had she been under the hand of a healer, and now her body was rejecting the treatments that had been given to her over the years.

Shadow, being a healer himself, attempted to patch up as many of the wounds as possible. "She'll be fine for now, Angelo...I will watch her." He sounded soft, content. He seemed to be feeling rather useless, as he knew he couldn't prevent this girl's death.

"I would like one Angelo." he looked between his sister and Shadow. feeling that he would not get any better answer he walked back over to the bowl and picked it up. looking over his shoulder he smiled sadly. "I have improved the mix, Shadow says that it is even better now then it was when I first made it." he hurried out to finish preparing some of the food he had planed. his body still hurt from earlier but he was feeling better, and to find out that he was the last of the family to be living he felt sad, lonely, and lost without them.

"keep him safe, dont let him lose who he is." Jaelle's eyes were pleading. "and fallow your heart, you both need the love." her voice was weighed with a knowledge that she did not share.

"I will try my best. I cannot make any guarantees, but I will try my best. I am not perfect, after all..." Shadow murmured, shifting. "Do you have any suggestions, as to what I should do for the next few days? I want him to be happy, to have fun. It will ease the pain of your loss."

"dont act any different then you usually do." she sighed feeling him trying to keep her alive. "thank you, and I know you will try to keep my brother safe, just take it slow from now on."

"...I think...I will simply not bring anything up about it. I will let him bring it up, and see if he persists when I show no interest. I figure he will be comfortable by then..." Shadow mused. "I will keep him safe. I have kept him safe all these years and I intend to keep him safe for as long as I possibly can."

"even if it means embracing him?" a small smile pulled at her lip. she had seen it, it was not the most likely but it was there.

"I suppose, yes..." Shadow smiled, and then glanced out the window. It was a full moon tonight. Once Shadow noticed this, a solemn look came over him. It seemed full moons were not his favorite sight.

"I have seen the chance that you will embrace him and I just want to know that you will not do it against his will. I love my brother dearly and if you do embrace him without his consent I will come back and I will kill you." her eyes blazed with the knowledge that she would.

"I am not that kind of person, especially with someone who does not fully trust me in that department, yet," Shadow retorted calmly. "I am just...once everything starts...I am used to getting what I want. So, he will need to alert me if something I am doing is not to his liking. That worries me, because he did not protest when I went farther than he would have liked. A lack of self-control, perhaps?"

she smiled. "I think it is more of he was enjoying it in a more animal type of way that he did not think" she sniffed the air as shadow could hear Angelo comming around the corner.

"now your not to eat these fast, i dont want you to die quicker then you are."

Shadow nodded silently, agreeing with her comment, and then watched as Angelo came around the corner. He knew losing his sister would be heartbreaking for him, but he hoped that he would be strong. Hoped...he didn't have hopes that were too high, however. He knew what it felt like to lose a sister...

"I hope he has not been grilling you for information and I also hope she had not been grilling you." Angelo said as he handed them both the food before taking a plate of his own off the tray. "well enjoy every one. I also have another treat that is slowly steaming as we speak."

Shadow ate his food without hesitation. He had been living with Angelo for long enough to know he was an excellent cook. "We were just having a nice conversation. And thank you, for this food and for your treat, whatever it is."

"I bet it is a fruit patty." Jaelle slowly took a bite of it and then sighed in pleasure. "I think you may have surpassed grams in this cooking, she never should have stopped your leaning." Angelo blushed at his sisters comment and stuffed a meat patty in his mouth. he nodded as he chewed.

Shadow ate at a modest pace, watching them pleasantly. Though it had cost him a lot of money, he felt it was worth it to bring Angelo's sister here for him. He would just have to tie up some loose ends to get some more money. He didn't have a stable job, after all. Money was tight sometimes. He did keep a private fund for himself--and it was a lot of money--but this was used for purchasing and selling homes, when he moved.

they sat there making faces at each other as they ate. at one point Angelo laughed so hard at her face that the bite he had just taken went flying a crossed the room. "oh good one brother."
"it is not my fault! your the one that made the look."

Shadow chuckled, having fun just watching them. He knew it must have felt great for Angelo to have his sister back, even if it wasn't going to be for long. He didn't want to interrupt their reunion, so he stayed quiet.

as they both finished their food Angelo smiled at shadow before running back tot he kitchen to get the food. "he is happy here, thank you for this finely gift." she sighed and closed her eyes.

"You are welcome..." Shadow hoped she wouldn't die just yet...Angelo still had something for her to eat. "You are not leaving yet, are you? He still has something..."

~I don't think I can stay to much longer.~ her voice was low and fading. ~tell him I loved him, and he needs to fallow his...~ her voice faded off just as Angelo walked in. the sound of clattering dishes filled the air as he ran to her.
"Jaelle?" he sounder like a little boy again as he slowly picked up her hand. he knew what he would find, he had felt it since she had eaten what he made her. he had just hoped that she would have been able to stay longer. a tear trickled down his face as he tucked her hand up on her.

Shadow let him stay by her side for a few moments before he reached over and laid a hand on his shoulder. "Angelo. We should go honor her wish," he informed him, solemnly. "Do you want me to do it...or do you want to help me?" He would understand if he didn't want to help.

"if you do not mind..." Angelo took a deep breath before going on. "I would like to do it by my self." he looked down at her and wiped the tears away. "thank you for this gift you have given me, I can not think of any way to repay you." he looked up at Shadow and a small smile crossed his face. "at least I now know that she did not die in pain and squalor as I had always felt."
