Angelo let out a sigh, it was filled with blood but he seemed happy. ~as quiet as I can be master, it hurts you know..... dieing~
"I am aware of that." Shadow paused for a moment. "Don't worry if you lose consciousness...just do not leave your body. Cling to it, no matter what tries to pull you away. I will try to work quickly."
Shadow paused again, closing his eyes. Silverbloods used a nearly-full blood drain and then injected venom--kept in sealed, unless manually opened glands in their throats--into the bite spot. This would cause a rapid production in blood in the body, and it would mix with the venom to create silver, mercury-like blood. This would be one of the two painful parts. The other painful part was letting him sit for a few hours, up to a day, to let this all occur... Leaning down, he pulled Angelo's hair away from his neck and bit him. It was a different kind of bite. It still had that pleasure factor...but it also hurt. Terribly. |
~I wont leave you master.~ his voice was weak as he spoke mentally. Then when he bit into him Angelo gasped. This was unlike anything he had felt before. Trying to keep quiet as his master had said Angelo bit his lip. It felt like Shadow was drawing out his whole being and putting in liquid fire in. his eyes flashed open as he stared into nothing trying to understand this feeling. ~what master?~
~Just stay still. Stay relaxed~ Shadow didn't have time, or the patience, for a long, detailed explanation. He needed to get this done and then get Angelo inside. It would take a few more minutes for the full transfer to take place...
relaxed he says? I can stay relaxed this feels good, painful but in a good way. This is not how it feels to die; no it does not feel this way. Is he doing it, is he embracing me? This is not what I thought it would be like… but its good, it feels right. Angelo let his mind wander over the years they had been in the same house as each other. He had been so scared the first night; he had slept in the door way, or at least tried to.
After a few more minutes, Shadow pulled back, slowly. "Stay still. Perfectly still." Shadow stood up, and then levitated Angelo up into the air, perfectly horizontal. He walked him back inside the house, trying his hardest not to move him too much. He then laid him out in his bed. "You have to stay here until it doesn't hurt to move again," he murmured, sitting in the chair in the corner of the room.
~talk to me, why does it hurt like this? Not that it’s a bad hurt or anything I kind of have grown to enjoy different types of pain and such. But why?~ suddenly Angelo sounded his age of seventeen. ~what did you do differently then you usually do. What was added to my body that is making me feel like I have fire or wine going through my vanes?~
Shadow sighed, heavily. He gathered his mind for a long moment and then explained what he had done. Explained about the venom glands and what would be happening to him. "I hope you are not angry with me."
~why would I be shadowmoor? You made the promise to my sister. You even promised me that you would do this if ever you could. I just had not expected it to happen so soon.~ Angelo sighed happily. ~may I sleep or should I try to stay awake?~
"You may sleep, but I will have to block your dreams. Dreams disrupt the process. And if you move, at all, you will immediately wake up. It won't be a restful sleep," Shadow warned, blocking the dream process beforehand so he wouldn't have any when he slept.
~that is ok, I just think it would be best if I don’t keep my mind on this pain. It may drive me mad if I don’t let everything go.~ sighing he closed his eyes. ~I will see you when I wake~
"Have a nice rest. Call me if you need anything." Shadow headed out of the room, to make himself a strong drink that would help him relax. He sure needed it, now.
Half way thought his sleep the villagers came back. This time they did not seem happy about anything. Most of them were carrying torches and had angry looks on their faces.
Shadow placed a barrier around the house, glad he had stayed awake. He stepped outside, making sure to keep the barrier strong. This time, he stepped outside without his coverings on--there was no point anymore. They would have to move anyway. He waited until they gathered around and quieted down a bit, and then noticed that the current leader of the town--he wasn't sure what they called them in this area, since he rarely paid attention to politics--was with them.
"I am aware you don't want us here. Give us three days to pack up and leave, and a wagon so we can transport our things. And, we will leave. As long as we have a buyer for our home. I assure you nothing is wrong with it--you can have someone inspect it." His tone of voice was calm, toneless. No sign of fear, or anger. |
“why would we give you a wagon to carry away the dead body of your slave and your stuff.” One of the men yelled out before the town leader could speak.
“we do not wish to have any one buy your house, it is most likely cursed and made unfit for any human or animal to live in. if you wish to live you may walk from here tonight as you are. Everything else will be burned in the cleansing fires till there is nothing left of this place.” The town leader said as he stepped forward and through the barrier. A few other villagers tried to do the same but came to a stop. If shadow looked closer at this man that passed through his barrier without a problem he would find that he was a null. A person that was the complete opposite of a mage. Any magic that tried to effect him would just be brushed off. He would never know the spell had happened or that magic was in play. “do you understand what I am asking of you? If you want to live you will walk away and never once look back. You cannot enter into your house again. If you do you will die in it.” |
"I am afraid I cannot leave at this very moment. I need a wagon to take my things away, and time to load it." Shadow couldn't use his magic on him, but he was still a vampire and could use force if he needed to. His voice was quiet, so just the leader could hear.
"I can assure you that nothing is wrong with it. If it was cursed...this would happen." Shadow placed a small barrier around a patch of grass nearby, and cursed it. The grass began to wither away and die. Once he took the curse off, it sprung back to life. "But it hasn't. The house is in perfect condition. ...If you can't find a buyer for the house...I have land around it, as well as some of this forest. I am not asking much for the land. You may burn the house to your liking once I have emptied my things from it, if you can find someone to take the land...or your local government purchases it to clean it up. In the past, it was used as farmland. I will not come near the town until I have finished packing, so I can inform you that we are leaving." Shadow's request sounded reasonable. He was using a bit of his vampiric powers, which were not magical powers, to try and persuade the man. He did sound logical... |
“you have till true sunset before we come back, we cannot offer you any wagon to take away you stuff but most will be kept safe if you move it out of the house and there at the top of the hill.” He stood up so he looked stronger then he really was. “till sunset no more.”
"I'm afraid that is not enough time. And I need something to move my things with." He raised his voice a little, so that much of the crowd could hear. He knew there were nobles in the crowd, and if they really wanted him gone, they might offer up a wagon. "Without a wagon to transport my things, I am stuck here...and I will not hesitate to defend my home."
The people around the house grumbled amongst themselves then one of them stepped forward. “I will sell you two beasts to pull a wagon and a full caravan wagon with one week’s previsions for your house. I do not need the lands around it.” The speaker was the Cartwright of the town and he had been trying to sell a brightly painted wagon with two old animals for some time. He had thrown in a lot of stuff that one needed to live in a caravan wagon like that just to sweeten the deal and still there had been no buyers for it. The Caravan wagon was in good working order, when they had first moved here Angelo had looked it over and said that he would have been proud of that wagon if he had not had a house to live in.
“As to the time allotment, we cannot change it.” That seemed to be the general agreement among the people of the town. But they had offered that he could place his stuff on the hill and they would not touch it. |
"I can work with that. As for the timing...I will take as long as I need to empty my home and we will see. I am not confident I can get everything out in working order before sunset. I have a lot of belongings." Shadow sounded honest, and a bit apologetic. He wasn't really trying to push for time...he honestly didn't think he'd be able to get everything out in time. "If I am not finished before sunset, I will ask for volunteers to help me finish as soon as possible. If I start now, I will probably be done in...a day to a day and a half, if I don't have assistance. I have not only furniture and books to move...but I need to transform my garden into a portable one, as well, and that will take time...even to move it up on the hill will take time."
The town’s spokes person looked at the Cartwright and then back at Shadow. “If he says you can stay until you have everything out of his house when he brings your payment then it is fine by us.” The Cartwright had already set off down the road back to the village to get the cart and animals.
Shadow nodded, and then turned on his heel. "If you expect me to get out by sunset, then I have a lot of work to do...please leave me to it." He headed back inside. For a monster in the eyes of people who were wary of him, he acted polite--in contrast to others he'd seen found out, he was perfectly polite. Though he'd wanted to punch someone in the face, of course. Before he started, he checked on Angelo.
The villagers stood around waiting for him to come out with the first load. They did not trust him to keep to his word.
~what is going on?~ Angelo’s eyes fluttered open as he heard Shadow walk into the room. He had heard some sounds outside but had been unable to tell what they were. He had not interrupted Shadow as he was worried that he might mess whatever it was up. ~what was all that noise that I was hearing out there?~ |
Shadow drew the curtains in the room and then kissed Angelo's cheek, affectionately. ~As I suspected, we will have to move. The townspeople have given us until sunset, but one of them has offered to give us a wagon to use to transport everything. You just relax until you feel better. I'll take care of it.~
He stood back up and ducked down into the basement. The first load of items he came out with were books. Casual-reading books, by their spines, so he wouldn't spook them. He set them down on the doorstep and waited patiently to see if the Cartwright would return with the wagon. He didn't want to place books on the ground--they would get soiled by dirt and insects. |
~I wish that I was able to help you love. I do not like laying here in this state and knowing that they are out there wanting us out. ~ Angelo sighed. ~you know I am not going to be able to stay still after this for a while right?~ then suddenly he got an idea. ~you know they know they killed me and don’t know what you are. Why don’t you take me out there and lay me on some blankets. Tell them that it is a rite you have to observer with all your dead slaves. That should drive them off, and I can tell you if they try to do anything to me.~
