Shadow didn't know what to reply to him with, so he kept quiet, looking quite tired. Patiently, he waited for their traveling companion to finish up with her siblings. Shadow did look tired...and like he didn't feel well. He needed rest.

Looking shadow over as she walked back to the wagon after her siblings piling on her she smiled. “Would you like me to drive the wagon till he is better?” she pointed to angelo. “if you would like I could hitch the cart to the wagon and you could ride with him.”

"That would be appreciated, thank you...I am sorry I can't do it myself--I fear I will fall asleep at the reins..." Shadow admitted, sheepishly. He checked on Angelo's condition once more, moving one of his fingers slightly to see if it would still hurt him.

“That is ok, you have the worries of making sure he improves.” Moving the animal that was leading the wagon she hitched it up to the back of the wagon. As she finished that she smiled back at him and disappeared to into the wagon. When next she came out she looked very much like Shadow. “I think it would be wise if you were to lay with him wrapped in the sheets so they do not know I am going along with you. I can tell you when we leave the area.”
~that kind of hurts love, could you tell me next time you’re going to do that.~ Angelo really wanted to get up and move around. He wanted to get to see where they were going, and to do a bit of the driving. He should have talked Shadow into getting a wagon a long time ago.

"I will do that." Quietly, Shadow climbed up to Angelo and laid out beside him. He pulled the sheets over both of them and gently kissed Angelo's cheek. ~My apologies. Is it getting better?~

As the cart and wagon stated on the road Angelo sighed. ~no it does not hurt as much as it did. Am I taking longer than usual?~ angelo sounded a bit worried.

Shadow was curled up to him, a hand resting on his stomach. ~No, no. Most last a day or more. You should be able to move, at least a little bit, starting tomorrow. Once five days have passed, we will...need to find you a source of food.~

He didn't elaborate on that. He was fairly sure Angelo would understand what he meant.

~arggggah I wish that I could move and touch you.~ Angelo sighed again, a slow tear trickled down his cheek. ~I hate being stuck like this, knowing that there are things around us that need to be dealt with and not being able to do anything.~ outside the sounds changed as the wagon and cart pulled through the town. There were whispers of how he was evil and casting spells at innocent people. Suddenly there was the sound of something splatting against the side of the wagon. “Hopefully she can get us passed these guys without any one getting hurt. And we should be with the Black Rose’s in five days, at least a small branch of them. They will have some one that will act as a feeder for me.”

Shadow wiped away the tear, trailing his hand down one of Angelo's arms. ~You don't have to worry about anything. I will take care of everything for you. I will need someone, as well. Vampires can feed off of each other, but the blood of a vampire does not hold another vampire over for too long. And ingesting too much of it can make a vampire sick.~

~ the Black Rose’s will be used to feeding vampires, remember there is at least one or two Vampires per family unit.~ without thought Angelo moved his arm closer to Shadows hand. He wanted to feel more of shadows touch, it felt so different then it had when he was human.

~I suppose...~ Shadow, seeing him move a bit, bestowed more touch upon him. At the moment, he was quietly contemplating everything that had happened. Then, something occurred to him. ~That black bag you had, when you were hit...it's packed away with my things. What is in it?~

A small smile blossomed on Angelo’s lips. ~it’s a gift, for you. I worked hard on it and I hope it does what I set out for it to do.” Angelo sighed and the smile disappeared again. ~I wish it would not hurt so, I really want to move and be held by you.~

Shadow leaned down so he was within easy kissing range and brushed their lips together. ~I will take a look at it later, once we are in a safer area. Please be patient. I can still hold you, but I can't move you too much...~

Another tear fell then more fallowed. ~please, no more.~ he wanted so bad to kiss Shadow back to feel his touch and to touch him that it was becoming painful not to. But he knew that if he did he would feel pain as well. ~I cant take it, Please stop.~

~Angelo...you don't have to cry over it.~ Shadow brushed his tears away. ~Relax. I can still touch you. You can pay me back when you feel better...~

~you’re not getting it Shadowmoor. It pains me that I can’t touch you. it is an ache that I can’t fix because I can’t touch you.~ slowly he turned his face away from Shadow. It was painful but not as bad as what he was feeling wanting to touch Shadow.

~You can touch me when you feel better,~ Shadow repeated, gently. He still had a hand on Angelo's arm. It was still, and there for reassuring purposes as well as well as to keep checking his temperature.

~but I cant do it now.~ he sounded so sad. the sounds outside changed again as they finely got out of the town and the crowds that had been throwing stuff at the wagon. as they got a ways out the wagon and cart came to a stop. moments letter the blankets were removed and the young woman smiled down at them from the shadow robes. "sorry that it took so long to go through town you two but I had to have my brother deliver my stuff so that I would have more then one change of clothes. would you both like to keep resting or would you like to take the rains sir?"

"I will take the reins for now," Shadow replied, feeling that would be best for Angelo. "All he will need it someone to watch him and make sure he isn't jostled. He won't need food at the moment--only water to keep him going.

“I am Kahina by the way. And how will I know if he is needing water?” she looked down at Angelo lovingly. “He is beautiful; he would have been a nice lover.” Angelo blushed.
~tell her thank you for me, she is beautiful but not my type.~ he blinked away a tear as he slowly turned his head back so he could see them.

Shadow relayed his message to her, amused. "He will start clearing his throat, or coughing internally. He'll also try to lick his lips. Water is needed, then." He paused, and then headed out to the front of the wagon. He took the reins and spurred the animals into action.

“ah ok.” She said as she jumped up to where Angelo was. “it is a pity you can talk right now, it would be nice to talk to a Lifeshadow. Dad never let me talk to my cozins when I was younger. He said that he would only draw me into a place I would never be able to get out of. He wanted it to be my choice not my cozines.”

Shadow listened to her speak as he kept control of the reins. He continued going in the direction she had been going, unsure of where to find their new 'home.'

She continued talking about what life had been like when they were still with the Black Roses, or at least what she remembered of it which was not too much. As she reached the end of those stories she moved on to other stories of other families she had known as her family had traveled.

After a while, Shadow grew tired once more. It seemed he was beginning to get thirsty, and that was hindering his motor skills and endurance.
